The ascension of corporate hegemony has created a culture premised on market logics, which has led to the social hierarchy and violence evocative of an authoritarian society. Through a careful analysis of scholarly literature, Ilana, Andrea, and Ryan enumerate the drastic consequences of unregulated neoliberal capitalism; explore corporate practices, the structure of the healthcare system, and digital democracy; and discuss what it means to be alive in a time when profit is valued above people.
It’s no secret that the US healthcare system is crumbling. In Episode 3, we discuss the perils of neoliberalism for citizens’ health (especially during a pandemic) and grapple with questions like: How does neoliberalism erode both health and care infrastructures? And what can we do about it??
In Episode 2, we analyze the ambiguity of the state-corporation partnership and enumerate the implications of digital technology for democracy. How has neoliberalism, through state, corporate, and technological entities, expanded in the modern age, and how has this influenced the civic participation of citizens?
What exactly is neoliberalism? Where does it come from? And why does it matter? In Episode 1, we aim to define neoliberalism, decode its myths, and discuss the contradictions inherent in its agenda.

In our second episode, “...Then Who?”, we shift our research to government, technology, and economy. We propose examples of the most immediately influential solutions that could contribute to positive climate healing. Ultimately, our group discovers the power of community: its ability to heal, bring hope, and inspire change.

In Principium episode one, “If Not Us…”, we discuss the history of education, the necessity of knowledge, and how creating a well educated population is the key to a prosperous society. Through personal anecdotes and thoughts, we offer our ideas for a brighter education system. All of this is in hopes of creating a population that will change unsustainable consumption habits, become appropriately engaged in civic responsibilities, and focus on curing metaphorical illnesses instead of only addressing the symptoms.
