The parable of the two sons has a lot to tell us. Once again we're faced with the coming judgement on the leaders of Israel, and by proxy, Israel. Jesus makes the point that the worst of sinners, the sinner that lives a lifestyle so contrary to God that they are even looked down on by other sinners, will be forgiven and enter the kingdom of God upon their repentance and turning from their sin, with their faith for salvation in God's grace alone, in Christ alone. The difference between these two sons in the parable isn't that one is good and one is bad. They're both bad. The difference is that though both are confronted with the truth of Christ, it is only the first son that responds with repentance and belief in the gospel of the kingdom.
