Meet Pug-mom Rachel and her beautiful little girl Agatha, whom you’ll be able to hear snoozing, or should I say snoring, throughout the episode in that ever-so-cute little style that only a Puggie can.

This is a wonderful joyful episode about Agatha, how they met and what their Pug Life has been like – especially the anecdote about their bonding within minutes of meeting which I am sure you can relate to. And then there is the question that Rachel had for me … What is wrong with my Pug”?

So you’ll have to listen to the episode to find out what was ‘wrong’ with Agatha!

In this episode I’ll cover:

· 01:40 Being a Pug Hypochondriac and realising that Agatha is going grey.

· 03:20 The lovely story behind meeting Agatha, and the puppy scam that almost stopped them from meeting.

· 04:35 Bonding with Agatha … their first 10 minutes together.

· 06:00 Daphne the Rescue Cat and her influence over Agatha.

· 07:30 Agatha’s toilet training by Daphne.

· 11:20 Agatha’s ‘object of delight’.

· 15:00 Agatha’s love of the ‘R’ word.

· 16:00 Agatha’s eating noises.

· 18:20 Agatha’s alien behaviour with claw clipping.

· 22:00 Agatha’s ‘etiquette’ training.

· 25:00 Mum the bouncy castle.

· 26:00 Agatha’s interested noise.

· 27:00 Agatha is stupid clever.

· 31:00 What do well behaved Pugs look like.

· 32:00 Agatha loves anything black.

· 34:15 Agatha’s first holiday preparation.

· 35:45 Agatha the sleepy nugget.

· 38:30 Agatha the cult leader.

· 41:00 Agatha’s impersonation of the Titanic move.

· 42:10 What’s wrong with my Pug? (no shame)

· 45:00 Ladies don’t run Mother

· 47:00 Pug-ancini ball

· 48:30 The Cat’s toy

If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review on your PODCAST streaming service.

You can either quickly hit the 5 stars if you're busy, or if you have a few extra minutes hit 5 stars and tell us what you think.

I don’t think I’ve ever met a Pug-Pawrent who hasn’t asked this of themselves or discussed it with another Pug-Pawrent when it comes to making a decision about their Pugs well-being.

You know what I’m talking about, Am I feeding them the right food? Am I making the right decision about a veterinary procedure? Am I really capable of caring for a Pug? And the dreaded, Am I making the right decision when it comes to making ‘that’ decision?

In this episode, I’m going to share with you some of my “Am I doing the right thing” moments and what I have learned from them so far.

In this episode I’ll cover:

· 01:23 Our recent Vet visit

· 04:35 Our “are we doing the right thing?” dilemma

· 06:00 Advice on what we’ve done in the past

In this episode I’m talking about Puggie separation anxiety. Apparently, research has found that ‘one in every 4-6 dogs’ have separation anxiety and that it is ‘more common in older dogs’.

What’s more, it can present in different forms and at different times. I’ve experienced Pug-to-Pug separation anxiety between Winston and Charles, and Pug-to-Hooman separation anxiety with Louis and now Kenji, and surprise surprise, no two Pugs are the same when it comes to displaying their anxiety!

But the great thing is, there are ways to reduce the impact so that they can live their Pug life to the fullest and we’ll cover all the options in this episode.

In this episode I’ll cover:

• 01:15 1 in every 4-6 dogs have separation anxiety

• 02:35 What is Puggie separation anxiety

• 03:40 Steps to help your Puggie overcome separation anxiety

• 07:10 When to get professional help

• 08:35 My experiences with my Puggies

In this episode I’m talking about fur-family holidays. We try to go on at least one every year, but I realised just before Easter that we hadn’t been on a proper fur-family holiday for 5 years! So, we decided to book an Airbnb place near the sea at the last minute and enjoy the four days off.

But with so much time in between holiday’s I realised just how out of practice I was in making sure we packed everything Rosie and Kenji would need for the trip. So I thought I’d share my packing list with you so you don’t forget anything on your trip and find yourself searching for a pet store in an unfamiliar town praying they stock your Puggies favourite treaties … yes that was us this time round!

In this episode I’ll cover:

•02:15 – It’s been 5 years!

•04:00 – The ‘Belt of Power’

•05:15 – The minimum we pack for a fur-family holiday

•12:45 – What we’d add for a beach holiday

•14:10 – What we’d add for a camping holiday

Please note: there’s some Puggie snoring accompanying this episode; it’s not that its boring, they’re still recovering from their amazing holiday!

This week I'm talking about loss; specifically, the loss of a Pug and the impact it has on the Pug Pawrents, the Pug-family and how it is different each time it occurs.

With the recent passing of my third Pug Charles, I realised that our grief journey was very different to that of his brother Winston and my first Pug Louis. Andrew and I have felt the impact that their passing has had on our lives, but it wasn’t until we lost Charles that I realised just how different our grieving processes were with each Puggie.

01:36 - My four puggies and their completely different personalities

02:16 - Winston was not Lewis 2.0

04:37 - My expectation did not match reality

NEXT WEEK'S EPISODE:

In next week's episode our guest is author Patrick Ford talking about his children's book, Tales of Two Naughty Pugs; The Great Bone Robbery.

The book is centred on Pug brothers Louie and Zuuchie, who have built a robot labrador to steal the world's tastiest bone, and unless two hounds from the Dog Police can arrest the Pugs and find the bone, everyone will be in the poop!

It's a great read for any age and this episode will give you some wonderful insights into the characters and what is happening next for Louie and Zuuchie

In this week's episode we're talking to Jess about her pawty business PawtyPals

It was wonderful to talk to Jess about PawtyPals and how her Pawty Packs take the stress out of organising a Barkday or a Gotcha Day pawty, not to mention Pugmas or New Years.

Not only can you purchase a DIY pawty pack but you can also get Jess to create a custom design that speaks to your Puggies pawsonality, that provides you with wonderful memories of the day without the mess and cleanup... sounds pawfect to me!

My favourite pawty game is the Portrait kit where your Puggie can paint their very own masterpiece and you can take it home with you afterwards ... and then there are the tasting tables, OH MY PUG, can you imagine a table full of tasty treaties, all for the gobbling up by your Barkday girl or boy and their grumble friends.

In this episode Jess will share:

02:41 - How Jess came up with the idea of PawtyPals

05:12 - Marley’s bestfriend and why he doesn’t like huskies

06:24 - Marley’s Barkday party after being in lockdown for almost a year

10:13 - The most popular pawty that pawrents come to Pawtypals for

16:51 - Pawty Packs offered by PawtyPals

20:27 - The Puggie Painting activity

26:44 - Things pug pawrents can do to make Christmas & New Years special without ending up in a vet

38:53 - What took Jess by surprise when she first started PawtyPals

41:05 - The Pawty Pack that pawrents love the most

44:53 - Where to find PawtyPals

In this week's episode, we're talking to Joanna about her Pug Bronson We always love hearing the stories behind our guests' names, and Joanna didn't disappoint. Now you could be excused from assuming that Bronson got his name from the devilishly handsome actor "Charles Bronson" because Bronson is a handsome devil himself, but that’s not actually the case. How Jo came to deciding on Bronson's name is a little outside of the norm even for a Pug Pawrent. We're also very happy to know that Bronson is still with us after a trip to the beach that almost ended in disaster - I am amazed that Jo was able to drive and cry and talk to her sister who was holding Bronson all at the same time knowing that Bronson could be dying. I still get chills down my spine thinking about what happened and is definitely a tale worth hearing if for no other reason to know what you need to do should this ever happen to your Puggie. The good news is that Bronson is OK and as lively as ever! In this episode Joanna will share: 04:30 - Bronson’s upcoming birthday 05:17 - Teaching Bronson to jump for his treats 06:25 - What inspired Jo to become a pug pawrent 08:30 - How did Jo and Bronson found each other 10:15 - How Bronson wakes Jo up 12:43 - The interesting story behind Bronson’s name 14:00 - Bronson’s paw-sonality 17:09 - Bronson’s naughty traits 20:22 - Bronson’s favourite activity 21:10 - Bronson’s near-death experience 25:06 - Bronson’s favourite outfit If you'd like to watch the LIVE STREAM REPLAY of this episode, you can find it on our Blog https://pugparties.com/blogs/livin-the-pug-life-show/livin-the-pug-life-show-ep-32-with-bronson If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at podcasher.com And if you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. In this week's episode we're talking to Candy about her Pug Penelope Candy is one of those lucky Hooman's who got to grow up with Pugs, and now has her own to love. In this weeks episode I am talking about the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) calling for 'any dog with a muzzle length less than a third of its skull length (being) banned from being bred or shown because of the suffering caused on the animal.' I agree with the call to clean up the breeding community/industry by expanding/introducing legislation to enable the relevant authorities the ability to enforce safe breeding practices, and for the readjustment of breeding standards back to healthy levels so that our Pugs can live their best lives with us for as long as possible. What I don't agree with is the focus on a small portion of dogs that have been on the wrong end of the lax breeding laws in Australia due to their popularity? 01:17 - My ‘RANT’ about the AVA’s ‘partial ban’ and their accompanying explanation 03:33 - Does banning pugs resolve poor breeding practices in Australia? 05:24 - Let’s talk about fixing the underlying issue 07:36 - Our pugs as our life’s significant companions Check the websites I talked about in the Show here: - Oscar’s Law: https://www.oscarslaw.org/ - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/OscarsLawAUS - Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oscarslawinc/ - Article: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10475455/Call-BAN-French-Bulldogs-Pugs-Australia.html If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at https://www.podchaser.com/ThePugLifeShow And if you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. In this weeks episode I am talking to you about buying from a breeder or adopting a rescue. I've always felt that the Universe gave me Louis just when I was ready to be a Pug-mom for the first time, but finding your pawfect Puggie isn't always that easy or simple. The best part about this Show is the 'at home' sniffer training you can give your Puggie, no School required - Fiona told us how we can introduce a little bit of scent work into your everyday life with your Puggie and I have to admit, I tried it at playgroup and the Puggies loved it! NEXT WEEK'S EPISODE: I've always felt that the Universe gave me Louis just when I was ready to be a Pug-mom for the first time, but finding your pawfect Puggie isn't always that easy or simple. Not to mention should you use a breeder or adopt a rescue. All options have pros and cons and we'll look at them all so you can decide if your pawfect Puggie is a rescue or a pup from a Breeder.

I know it sounds like a strange topic to broach, but after having had a recent discussion with a Grumble friend about a rescue Puggie who had moved between three owners because all three had passed away, it made me realise that it was a topic that needed discussing. So ask yourself, 'who would you want your Puggie to live with after you pass?' and I'll share with you what I've done to for Charles and Rosie: 01:14 - Why have I made provisions for Rosie & Charles in my Last Will & Testament? 03:17 - Allocating what’s required to gift your pug’s nominated carer for their living expenses 04:40 - Giving back to pug rescuers 05:41 - Questions I asked myself whilst preparing for my Will If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at https://www.podchaser.com/ThePugLifeShow And if you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. NEXT WEEKS EPISODE: Up until we met Cruze and Emily a few weeks ago, I had no idea there was such as thing as 'Sniffer School' or as I like to call it - scent training for fun! Our lovely guest Fiona runs a dog training school in WA that specialises in teaching any breed of dog scent work - yep even Pugs can learn to do it, just like little Emily who is a champion at it from what Fiona told us. In this weeks episode I am talking to you about what happened when I allowed rude comments about my Pugs affect me and my Pug Life. I was the person that people would look at with the expression that basically said "who IS this woman?", and I was that person who people would literally say, "you can't compare your Pug/s to children, they're not the same". For me, being a Pug-mom or a Crazy Pug-Lady is great fun but I have had times where I have doubted it; I'll share with you what happened and what got me back to being the best Pug-mom I could be.: 02:05 - Being a first time Pug-Mom for Louis 03:37 - I was being pug-shamed 05:59 - That time when I almost lost it 07:23 - Allowing rude comments to affect me as a pug-Mom 08:50 - Finding my grumble with “Pug Parties”

In this week's episode I'm talking about Why I became a Pug-mom and the Pugs that inspire me. Now I don't know about you Puggies but I love talking Pug, meeting Pugs and getting to know Pug-Pawrents. I mean who else can will understand my utter devotion to my Pugs better than other "Crazy Pug Ladies or Pawrents". Interestingly it wasn't until I saw “The Adventures of Milo and Otis” that I knew that I was going to be a Pug-mom …. or Puggie-slave depending on how you look at it. I'm going to share how I meet each one of my Pugs and how we love to get dressed up and go out for coffee and cuddles: 01:12 - How I met my very first pug, Louis? 06:08 - Adopting another pug after losing Louis 07:32 - Adopting the litter brother Sumo and JJ 08:57 - The story of Winston and Charles 10:24 - How Rosie came into our lives 12:33 - Dealing with Rosie’s health condition 14:07 - One thing all my pugs have in common
