🎙️ Inside the No Fly Zone: Could One Change Win Julio a Gold Glove?
with Adam & Robby RobJob – Grand Salami Time

Julio Rodríguez has the range, the highlight plays, and the swagger of a Gold Glove center fielder. But is his current positioning actually holding him back?

In this episode, Adam and Robby dive deep into the "No Fly Zone" — the massive swath of outfield Julio patrols with elite speed and instincts — and ask a deceptively simple question: What if Julio just played shallower?

We break down Statcast data, introduce Grand Salami Time’s exclusive Hits Saved and Runs Saved metrics, and compare Julio's defensive impact to AL Gold Glove front-runner Ceddanne Rafaela. From visual heat maps to fantasy heartbreaks, it’s a full sabermetric case study on how micro-adjustments in positioning could transform Julio’s defensive value — and maybe, just maybe, bring home some gold.

Smart baseball. No fluff. Welcome to the zone.

We are a Seattle Mariners podcast diving into deep analytical stories that you won't get anywhere else... Think Fangraphs or Baseball Sevant, but focused on the Seattle Mariners. You won't get this anywhere else!

In this episode, we dive into one of the most intriguing hypotheticals in baseball: What if Cal Raleigh played his home games at Yankee Stadium? Using spray chart overlays, Statcast data, and park factor analysis, we explore how Raleigh’s power—particularly to right field—might translate in the Bronx’s famously short porch.

We break down how many of his long flyouts at T-Mobile would likely leave the yard in Yankee Stadium, and we estimate how his home run total could skyrocket in a different environment. We also talk about what this tells us more broadly about ballpark effects, player value, and how much context matters in player evaluation. Whether you’re a Mariners fan dreaming of an unleashed Big Dumper or just a baseball nerd into advanced metrics, this one’s for you.

Adam usually gives his mom an eye roll when she offers sports takes—even though she’s been a Mariners season ticket holder for 25 years. But when she told him he had to write about Randy Arozarena’s hot streak, he had to pause. “Yeah, okay mom…” But turns out, she was dead right.

Robby and Adam discuss Randy's scorching hot streak. He’s launched 9 home runs during the 12 games stretch, tied (with Cal Raleigh) for most by any player in MLB over a 12-game stretch this season. Not even Aaron Judge or Shohei Ohtani has done that in 2025. Was his All-Star spot deserved?

Main Event
-NFL Free Agency started up. The Hawks have made some notable resignings and additions: re-signed DE Leonard Williams and TE Noah Fant. Brought back OT George Fant and traded for QB Sam Howell.
-Sam Howell earns 10% of Drew Lock's salary this year and is younger than Bo Nix. Don't worry about the Hawks taking a QB in the draft.

  • Bobby Wagner signed with the Commanders and Jordyn Brooks signed with the Chargers.

-Tyler Lockett restructured his contract to take up less cap space. Talk about a team player.

-Quandre Diggs and Jamal Adams are both gone. Rayshaun Jenkins (formerly of Jaxonville) was signed to a 2-year deal. Right now it's him and Julian Love in the Safety spot
-Hawks also signed DAWG Nick Harris. Harris won 1st team all conference 2x at Center. Nice addition

Current Events

-UW Men's basketball season is over. They announced prior to their final 2 games that they're firing Mike Hopkins after the season. They proceeded to beat top-25 ranked Wazzu in Pullman on senior night and then lose to USC in their final regular season game
-The Dawgs had an instant rematch against USC in the 1st round of the final iteration of the Pac12 tournament. They lost by 5 in a game that saw them make 9 3PFGs in the 1st half.
- A couple days ago, the last homegrown player Hop ever recruited, Koren Johnson, announced he is entering the transfer portal. KJ earned P12 6th man of the year award. Keion Brooks got 1st team all conference,.
- Rumor has it the Huskies are targeting Utah St HC Danny Sprinkle to take over the program

  • A new March tradition has started this year: The Women's NIT. UW was fortunate enough to get an invite and they host Gerogetown at HecEd on Thursday evening.

  • Mariners spring training is in full force with the season starting next weekend
-They've scored more runs than any other Cactus league team and also given up the most runs of any CL team. ST results are historically meaningless, but if I have 1 takeaway from this I think it means the Mariners will be fun to watch this year.

Main Event | The Seattle Mariners
| Remember the 2023 season when the Mariners were a total mess and we all ended the season with an utter sense of doom and gloom? Then they didn't sign any of the big name free agents and now we're all left to assume they'll go .500 after flirting with the playoffs 3 years in a row?? Well we're here to tell you about how excited you should be about this season.
| The M's record last year was 88-74. They finished 2 GB of the Astros and Rangers for 1st in the West. Their expected W-L based on run differential was 91-71...would've been 1st in the division
| They didn't lose any core pitching from last year. They return a full 6 man rotation of All-Stars Castillo and Kirby, Ace-in-the-making Logan Gilbert, phenoms Bryce Miller and Bryan Woo, and young Emerson Hancock.
| They only bolstered their league-best bullpen with the addition of Gregory Santos. Santos is a sort-of low-calorie Andres Munooz, with a 99pmh fastball and 91 mph Slider. He K's nearly a quarter of the batters he faces and rarely issues a free pass. Last year in 60 IP he only gave up 2 HR.

Current Events | Mariners kicked off spring training this weekend and have already given us something to talk about. Mitch Haniger went bomb in his first game back in a Mariners uni. Mitch Garver has hit multiple jacks. ]

| Kraken just beat the NHL leading Boston Bruins at home in OT yesterday. They're 5 pts out of the playoffs (think 2.5 GB in baseball terms) with a little over 1/4 of the season left to play. Their 2 top point getters from last year, Jared McCann and Vince Dunn, are shouldering the load again. If they're going to make a playoff push they need their Centers (Wennberg and Beniers, 8 goals each) to start carrying their weight
| Huskies Bball the up-and-down season of the Mighty Men in Purple and Gold continues. It's been barely 11 weeks since the Dawgs were 8-3 with a huge win over Gonzaga and only losses to tournament teams. For the 2nd year in a row they've lost Big Frank Kepnang to injury and barring a miracle run in the conference tourney, they won't even garner in invite to the CBI.
| Huskies Football the Husky Football team has assembled a coaching staff with over 70 years of NFL playing and coaching experience. That includes HC Fisch, DC Steve Belicheck, OC Brennan Carroll, and assistants Vinnie Sunseri (NFL player and Patriots Asst) and Scottie Graham (NFL player). Pretty cool stuff
| Seattle Seahawks The Grubb has landed. I repeat THE GRUBB HAS LANDED.
|
ROBBY'S HOT TAKE | The Seahawks will not only make the playoffs next year but they will have a top 10 offense and defense by DVOA. Grubb and McDonald. That is all.
|
LIGHTNING ROUND: | What is a good over/under for seasons Jedd Fisch coaches UW? His contract is for 7 years.
| Trivia! Courtesy of Caitlin White: Which quantity is greater: # of Mariners playoff appearances or # of Mariners ruptured testicles?
| More trivia! In honor of Black History Month: Who was the first black head coach in Seattle professional sports?

Hawks have a new coach! Welcome to Seattle Mike McDonald!
Former "Michigan" man (Defensive Coordinator for 1 year under Harbaugh at Michigan. Helped lead them to the natty runner up in 2021.

Comes from the Ravens where, under his leadership and defensive playcalling, the Ravens ranked 1st in points allowed last year (3rd in his first year as a pro DC) and top 10 in yds allowed both seasons..
He's already hired his Assistant HC: Leslie Frazier, former Bils DC and Super Bowl Shuffler.

Seahawks do not have an OC right now. There are rumors swirling around about Ryan Grubb jumping ship from Bama to come back to the Emerald City. The Hawks were also reportedly interested in Giants OC Mike Kafka, but the Giants blocked him from interviewing

The Seahawks currently hold the 16th pick in the NFL draft. They have 7 picks (no 2nd round pick and 2 3rd round picks) and some roster holes at important positions.
DO YOU PREDICT A STEP BACK YEAR FOR THE HAWKS OR CAN THEY CONTINUE TO COMPETE WITH THE RAMS/CATCH UP WITH THE 9ERS NEXT YEAR??

Current Events
UW Men's basketball is on a bit of a slide...lost the Apple Cup at home in dramatic fashion. While the Pac-12 is pretty tightly grouped -- only 4 games separate the 10th place Huskies from 1st place Arizona State -- that's because the conference is strong
top to bottom. The Cougs are 16-6 (7-4 in conf) and have already beaten Arizona this year. The dawgs sit at 12-10(4-7) with 8 regular season games left. If the P12 tourney started today, the Dawgs would face UCLA in the first round.

Mariners have made some more additions...Jorge Polanco and Gregory Santos

Browning might lead the Bengals to the playoffs? Not the first time he's lead a team to the playoffs. To recap, since taking over for the injured Joe Burrow, in 6 games Browning has 1,712 yds (285/game); 8tds/6ints (1.5:1 ratio, not phenomenal but not back breaking); 3 rushing TDs and a 70% completion pct.

What's Kraken? Kraken beat the reigning Stanley Cup champions at the Winter Classic. Big shoutout to my brother John for getting my mom and me tickets. Kraken had 3 goals but the real star of the show was Joey Daccord. He made several incredible saves and was solid all game long. Fans routinely chanted "JO-EY JO-EY JO-EY". He posted 35 saves and the Kraken are now 7-0-2 in their past 9 games. What a time to be alive!

Seahawks lost another winnable game, this time against the Steelers. They need Green Bay to lose hosting Chicago (who just secured the 1st overall draft pick next year) and Tampa Bay to lose at Carolina (who just secured Chicago the 1st overal draft pick because they traded that pick to CHI for DJ Moore). ESPN gives this scenario a 27% chance of happening.

Seahawks played on Thanksgiving. I didn't even realize they were hosting it, let alone the fact they were playing. They play again on Thursday AT Dallas. Dallas has a top 3 yardage and top4 scoring defense. Micah Parsons is a beast and their offense isn't bad either. Dallas is heavily favored and the Hawks will be lucky to cover, IMO.

Open up a 3-game series against Los Doyers tomorrow. Last time a Dodger hit in T-Mobile Mookie Betts had a record worst HR derby performance. Hopefully that reoccurs this weekend
Earlier this week, Matt Brash became only the 5th reliever in team history to reach the 100 strikeout mark in a year. He has done this in 63 innings over 71 appearances. Those 71 appearances rank first in MLB
JULIOOOOOOOOO is one of the best players in baseball and should garner some MVP votes. He's only the 2nd Mariner in history to reach the 30/30 club, and has a chance at 30/40 before the end of the year.
Despite recent performance, M's pitching staff still has the best ERA in MLB and given the fewest walks. They're still phenomenal. Suffice it to say that streaky hitting, not the pitching, has led to this club faltering down the stretch.
| |
HUSKIES: | Penix for Heisman is off to a roaring start. 8 TDs, 1 INT, only 1 sack and his 859 yds are 3rd in the P5 (and 3rd in Pac 10)
| Huskies had no trouble with Tulsa or Boise State. They have a +70 point differential through 2 games and are averaging 565 yds/game. | |
| They face their first real test this Saturday in East Lansing. Sparty is going through a rough time with the controversy surrounding Mel Tucker's alleged sexual harassment. | |
| McMillan, Odunze, and Polk are all starting very strong although some chinks in the armor started to show against Tulsa. Despite the blowout, it could've been worse. Both players dropped a first down, McMillan fumbled | |
| and also dropped a TD catch. | | Last year, UW was the home underdog facing a top 25 team and this year the roles are reversed. The VPI has UW winning by 17; anything less than a two-score win will look bad to the CFP committee
| We were very excited for the returns of Bralen Trice (coming off of a 10 sack season) and Zion Tupuola Fetui (ZTF) but they've been ineffective and/or MIA this year. Stout defense starts in the trenches, we need those guys | |

-So hockey is finally, actually over...SIKE! The Kraken's AHL affiliate, Coachella Valley Fire Birds are in the AHL final (Calder Cup). Led by familiar names like Shane Wright, Ty Kartye and Joey Daccord, they're up (3-0 or 2-1) and trophy hunting! | Thunderbirds won the WHL and went to Quebec to play in a sort of North American Champions League. They lost up there but all in all it was a phenomenal year for hockey in the PNW. |

The Storm continue to lose but they honored Sue Bird in a post-game ceremony last Sunday. She spoke for literally longer than any episode of this show has ever gone (1 hour 32 minutes), but she deserves it. Many of Sue's former teammates |
-were in attendance, including Lauren Jackson. |
- The Storm are 2-6 but still have 2 league leaders. Jewel Lloyd still leads the league in scoring average and Ezi Magbegor leads in blocks. Still an uphill climb for a team in the shadow of greatness. |

What's Kraken!?: The Kraken play WON their first ever playoff series! They Beat the Avalanche in 7 games. They now face the Dallas Stars, tied 2-2 having alternated wins and losses in the first 4 games.
| Grubauer has played like a totally different goalie this postseason. 2.97 GAA and .909 save%, right in line with his career average prior to joining the Kraken.

Seahawks draft review! The draft happened and people are mostly happy with what the Seahawks did! |
To recap: 1/5 was Devon Witherspoon (CB Illinois); 1/20 (WR tOSU, best WR in the draft); |
We were both right! Robby predicted a wide receiver with 20 and Adam predicted a 3rd round trade down. Hawks traded some picks back to the Broncos, fleecing them once more.

Mariners news: | Well...they are top 10 in SP ERA and RP ERA. They're hovering around .500 despite being totally unable to score a run.
| Munoz's return keeps getting pushed back. It's been 3 weeks since Divish reported he would start throwing again and yesterday we found out he had shoulder inflammation and got an injection for that.
| Tommy La Stella and the Mariners have conscously uncoupled, praise be.
| Some high notes: Logan Gilbert threw 6 perfect innings against the best offense in the league (excl. Rays); Kirby is doing Kirby things; JP Crawford's bat has come alive, France is hitting the way he should.
| Bryce Miller, Gabe Speier, Jose Caballero
| I can finally stop complaining about our DH

-Sounders and TBirds both flying high. THe T Birds are 8-0 in the playoffs and the Sounders are near the top of their conference about 6 weeks into the season; Megan Rapinoe and OL Reign start of the NWSL at 3 wins and 1 loss.. 2nd in the league
-Huskies get 4 star transfer from Kentucky!
-what's Kraken!?
-Mariners news: They got swept by the former Seattle Pilots and the offense looked abysmal. The Cardinals came into town and we bounced back taking 2 out of 3. Highs were Kelenic continuing his hot streak with a couple more dingers, Castillo pitched great again, Kirby has returned to form

Main Event | Seahawks draft preview! We're going to mock the Seahawks first and second round picks.
| Seahawks have 1:5; 1:20; 2:37 and 2:52. They have 26 players signed to the 2023 roster (fewest in NFL) and only
| 26 million dollars in cap space. It is imperative that they draft impact players at the top and bottom of the draft.
| Glaring holes in the lineup: interior and edge d linemen; Strong Safety (Jamal Adams is the only SS on the roster with Ryan Neal getting signed away; WR3 (Dareke Young is de facto WR3 right now but he's totally unproven heading into his second year); Guard (Phil Haynes and Damian Lewis will return as starters but we have no other guards on the roster.
| (NFL Draft music) with the 5th overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select:
| Adam -- Will Anderson Jr
| Robby -- 3 QBs will be gone, leaving only Will Levis. Levis looks fine but is not the gamechanger thant Young, Stroud or possibly Richardson could be at the position. Needing help on the interior D Line and having a decent track record with "character issue" guys in the past, PCJS will select Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia
| With the 20th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select:
| Adam -- We will trade this pick along with our 52nd Pick to the Flacons; and select Bijan Robinson
| Robby -- This pick will almost certainly get traded to a team at the bottom of the first round who needs an offensive playmaker. If they don't trade it, they take a wide receiver! Jaxson Smith Njigba will be the first WR selected in the NFL draft. He has solid athleticism and very strong route running. He is considered the most pro-ready WR in the class ready to slot into nearly any spot in an NFL offense. If he's available, the Hawks take him. Some mocks have Houston taking him at 12, in which case the Hawks take Zay Flowers out of Boston College. He's short, 5'9" but another great route runner. He would fill into No-E's old slot roll nicely.
| With the 37th pick in the NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks select:
| Adam -- Joey Porter Jr

Current EventsSeahawks: The NFL draft is looming and mock drafts are carrying more and more weight.

Huskies corner! Sav'ell Smalls announced he's entering the transfer portal. He was a standout two-way player at Garfield HS and a highly sought after 5-star recruit. His freshman year was truncated by COVID 19 and then ZTF and Jeremiah Martin emerged.
He didn't see a lot of playing time. Sav'ell is a beast of an athlete and chose UW over his pick of blue chip programs. Montlake owes him a lot of gratitude and we hope he fluorishes in his next destination. He ends his Dawgs career with 32 tackles, 1 TFL, 0 sacks and 1 fumble recovery.

What's Kraken!?

Main Event |
-The Seattle Mariners can't hit and sometimes they can't pitch.
- No extra innings games in the past week, thank goodness.
- M's came home and swept the sorry ass Rockies, outscorign them 15-5 in a 3 game set.
- JK continues to be hot, he's 8th in the AL in WAR ahead of Trout and Rafael Devers.
- In his last 7 games, Kelenic is batting 391/462/1000 with 4 HR and 6 RBI. He's a machine.
- On the flipside, Julio is slumping. In that same time frame he's hitting 172/250/379 with a 2b a 3b and a HR. Funny how that's a slump.
- His BABIP is abysmal over this time probably due to a slight uptick in flyballs. He's hitting the ball hard, they're just dying before the warning track.
- NOW FOR THE PITCHING: First things first. Luis Castillo should be the AL CY favorite right now. He spun another gem last sunday going 18 up, 18 down through 6. He wound up going 7, 2H 9K no walks. We won 1-0.
- Kirby and Tommy Milone (who was filling in for new father Marco Gonzales, both pitched well agianst the rockies too. Chris flexen's turn came up against the Brewers last night and aside from an early inning meltdown, he pitched well enough for us to win. Unfortunately it was Penn Murfee's turn to let the team down when he relieved Flex in the 7th
- The Brewers are one of the hottest teams in baseball and have the best run differential for any team that didn't start the season on a 13 game win streak. It's okay to falter a little against a former CY winner, but we can't get swept.
- Adam let's keep track of the performance of this offseason's "big acquisitions" i.e. Wong, La Stella, Hernandez and Pollock. I've done some excel wizardry and created a table I can update and it'll spit out their combine slash line.

Robby's Hot Take (5 second intro music... 30 seconds w/ 2 mins of discussion and banter) |
They have 45 road points but only 33 home points. 21 road wins is 2nd only to the New Jersey Devils, who have 23. It might be in the team's best on-ice interest to wind up a 6 seed than 3 or 4 in the west, but is it in the franchise's? |

Seahawks: Did we mention Bobby Wagner re-signed with the Seahawks? That gives them 5 future HoFers on the squad
Huskies corner! Did we say Keion Brooks Jr. was leaving UW next year? No we didn't. He's coming back! He was celebrated at Senior Night so we all assumed he was gone. We were wrong. Huskies still have 4 scholarship spots available, the Tyee Club should spread some NIL money around
The Masters: Seattle Native, who grew up playing Jefferson Golf Course, made history as the oldest player to make the cut at the masters
Storm select Jordan Horston out of Tennessee; average 16 points; 7 rebs; 3 assists; and 2 steals in 27 mins per game... 20 pts a game and close to 10 rebs if given Caitlin Clark Mins)
What's Kraken!? The Kraken clinched their first playoff berth in the franchise's storied history last Thursday with a dominant win over the Arizona Coyotes at home. My brother got to ride the zamboni before the game and I got to witness it.
| There were multiple fights during the game and it was clear the Coyotes weren't trying to win so much as they were trying to hurt the Kraken. One guy took off his skate and tried to stab somebody (Happy Gilmore reference)
| The Kraken played the Coyotes again and beat them handily, again. Played Vegas on Tuesday night and lost. Could have overtaken the Kings for the 3-spot in the Pacific Division. Final game of the season is Thursday night at home against the Golden Knights
| While you're at it, look up the Coyotes home stadium. The phrase "poverty franchise" gets thrown around a lot on the internet by sports fans trolling their rivals, but the Coyotes embody that to their core.
|
Main Event |
The Seattle Mariners are kind of good and kind of bad.
| First, a recap. They won their series in Cleveland over the weekend but did not sweep. They went 3-4 vs the Guardians and don't play them again this season...so they lose that tiebreaker when it comes time for playoff seeding/homefield.
| They didn't sweep because they lost a 12 inning game on Sunday. They took a 6-5 lead in top12 but Murfee started the bottom 12th IBBing Jose Ramirez, the winning run, and then throwing a wild pickoff that let both runners advance. One basehit later, the game was over.
| Now they're at Wrigley and lost a heartbreaker, coughing up a 7-0 lead and eventually losing 14-9.
| - 0-3 in extra innings this year.
| - 1-4 in games that were decided by one run OR went to extra innings. They were 36-24 is those games last year and it pretty much made the entire difference in their season..
| - Why the regression? Well, to start with the relievers are either pitching poorly or injured. Andres Munoz is the latest pitcher to hit the IL with shoulder stiffness. There is no hard diagnosis, so it's unlikely he misses significant time but the Sonoran Smoke was crucial to our success last year.
| - Logan Gilbert also had a sketchy outing in Cleveland over the weekend. He threw 81 pitches through 4+ innings and got taken out when it was apparent he'd lost significant control and velocity. His FB, regularly sitting 95-97, was in the low 90s. Per USS Mariner Marc on twitter, Gilbert had 1 FB last year at or below 92. He's not on the IL but did we mention midway through last year he was leading the league in pitches thrown? Concerning.
| - Now for the good part! France, Suarez and Raleigh are one of the best triple threats in the league right now. France and Suarez particularly are tearing it up, batting .330/.370/.480 combined. Raleigh is batting 30 points higher BA than he did last year, and it's
| not even the elimination of the shift that's doing it. He's hitting it the opposite field 32% of the time vs 22% last year. His soft contact % is up significantly but that will likely correct itself during the course of the season. Th

| Pitcher Kiefer Lord earned National Pitcher of the Week honors after retiring all 18 batters he faced against UNC on Saturday. Pretty nasty stuff. |
Kraken just love streaking. After a 3-game losing skid thye've won their last 4. square off against the mighty ducks of anaheim tonight. Jared McCann has become the first 30 goal scorer in franchise HISTORY! |
| They have 6 more games against the top 6 teams in the West, including 3 against Central Division leading Dallas Stars. They're tied for 3rd in the pacific now and with a good run can work their way back into a home ice advantage in the 1st round. |

Geno News: Jets wrote him off, he didn't write back...now they're double-texting! Jets interested in Geno. Also, apparently Russ wanted Pete fired and Pete had a genuine, sweet response when asked about it.
What's Kraken?!... 3 game losing streak. Two terrible losses sandwich a barn burner against the Bruins, which we lost 6-5. Not much to say here. They're playing really poorly right now. PP% bottom third in the league, PK% 2nd to last. 5 v 5 they're pretty good.

Main Event | SPRING TRAINING IS IN FULL SWING (PUN UNINTENDED)
Evan White bomb. What a difference it'd make to have him on the big league roster. Ty France DHing would be sublime.
Kelenic 2 HR day against the Royals. Another youngin who would change things up considerably (not that we haven't mentioned that before)

Some names you might not know: Prelander Berroa. He's the next Matt Brash. "Donnie Walton for Prelander Berroa might have been the worst trade of 2022 and its not really close." One AL scout said. He's 22, played pro ball since he was 17, and was smoking fools in Everett last year.
| In that Royals game, we lost, and a young man named Jonah Dipoto got the save. That's right, Jerry's son pitched against his pop's ball club and succeeded. Really cool story.

Husky Hoops: Last we checked in, lady Dawgs were getting the sap off their hands from some light lumber janing of Stanford. Since then, they've continued their hot streak and currently project as "Last 4 out" in NCAA tournament. Gentlemen Dawgs swept Oregon schools at home behind massive performances from Keiyon Menifield.

Seahawks: Big week for DK Metcalf. Viral video (ad?) of a 100 inch vertical (lol), wins NBA celebrity all-star game MVP dunking all over the place (nice) and then posts about getting drug tested (lol lame).

Hockey: PeeWee Preschool. You know what it is!

What's Kraken?! 3-4-1 since the all-star break, they'ev slid down to 3rd in the Pacific standings. If playoffs started today, they'd be in, but they need to turn it on down the stretch. Grubauer has turned it on in February. He's 3-1-1 and is outperforming his career averages.
-Matty Beniers came back from his injury with a 4-game pointless streak, has 1 goal and 3 assists in his last 3 games.
-Recap of our last main event....Kraken only got 3 points on that road trip. We predicted 5-7 points. A far cry from their 7-game loss-less road trip in December, they're not playing their best hockey right now.

Top prospects Harry Ford/Emerson Hancock will be there, as will veteran P's Sadler, Milone, Williams, Sheffield
2) Husky Hoops. DOWN GOES THE TREE!!! Husky womens hoops pulled off one of the biggest upsets in program history, beating Stanford 72-67 at home this weekend. It snapped an 11-game losing streak against the Cardinal and makes for a huge resume builder for a dawgs team that's 10-5 in conference play.
| The Dawgs were lead by diaper dandy Elle Ladine's 21 points but it was local hooper and former-Garfield standout Dalayah ("Duh-LAY-uh") Daniels who sunk 2 clutch FT's with 8 seconds left to seal the Dub. In Dalayah's words, they're some Dawgs out there!

Mariners: Anotha one...M's sign another former All-Star with Tommy La Stella joinng the squad. He's a past-his-prime contact and speed guy who no longer has contact or speed skills. They signed him for peanuts and he's expected to play somewhat of a utility role despite the presence of Dyland Moore. As recently as 2019 he slashed 301/388/611 to start a season, but a broken leg and residual soft tissue injuries has severely hampered his abilities. MEH.
UW Basketball: Woof! Dawgs complete the season sweep of Colorado! Swept Bay Area schools at home and then lost big time to Utah. All in all it seems the team still has no offensive identity beyond "Let Keion Brooks cook" and the defensive philosophy is "let them shoot 3's but don't box out". THe Dawgs currently sit 7th in the PAC and will need to catch fire if they have any intention of making the tourney. Home wins against ASU and/or Zona this week sure would help.\

What's Kraken?!...is also a regular segment on the hockey radio broadcasts. But we do it too. Much has happened since we last spoke. The Kraken continued their winning streak during the longest road trip of the year, coming home with 8-games in a row under their belt. That all came crashing down when they hosted Perennial Stanley Cup Finalist TB Lightning in their first home game in 3 weeks. Since the streak ended they've lost 3 of 4 and host the Canucks on Wednesday.
| 9th fewest PPG in the league, 3rd quartile in PP%. THye're among the least penalized teams in the league which is good, because they have 2nd worst PK% at 70%. They're abysmal on both ends of the ice when it's not 5 on 5. short handed play is all about chemistry, something a 2nd year franchise team obviously sorely lacks.

Adam was lucky enough to interview 1980's Mariners 3B who is famous for his Charisma, Intelligence, AND Blooper Reels. He is notably famous in Bloopers for going down on his hands and knees and blowing a bunt foul. Lenny had an incredible baseball career. He grew up in Compton, California at Centennial High School, and ended up playing at Arizona State where he was drafted in 1970. He played 12 seasons in the Major Leagues with stops which included the Yankees, Mets, and the Mariners. He hit over .300 twice in his career and also stole 30+ bases twice.
