In this week’s episode, I want to walk you through what all of today’s major brands did in their early years that have led to their success. From Apple to Lululemon to Nike, they did one crucial thing that has truly paid off. I am talking about niching down. Apple did not start selling watches, headphones, and speakers. They started on a computer which they developed and continued to perfect. It wasn’t until 25 years later that they released a different product, the iPod. I want to guide you on how to do the same thing that has worked for so many others and show you how to grow as a business and as a brand.

In this week’s episode, I want to talk to you about something that start-up entrepreneurs tend to get wrong. They start to think that business is a guessing game and that the idea of a consistent paycheck doesn't exist in entrepreneurship. However, once you learn how to attract leads, all it takes is all it takes is a little bit of math, and you will be able to visualize the growth of your business. And not only that, but you will be able to plan out and strategize your goals like you never thought possible. And this is what I want to teach you in this week’s episode, how to crunch the numbers in order to visualize, & not guess any longer.

In this week’s episode I want to talk to you about some of the things you may be telling yourself out of fear of leaving your corporate job and starting your own business.

The most common of these is that you can’t live without a consistent paycheck. Well then start making sales! Perhaps you might say that you do not know enough to start a business. Then start learning! Maybe you already started your business but the numbers are not great. Remember that you are only getting started. The biggest tip I can give you is to just start somewhere!

I get it, fear does try to get you to stay where you are. Yet, I want to help you overcome those fears and help you live the life you desire. Don’t let fear hold you back from fulfilling your dreams.

In this week’s Modern Business episode, I talk about overcoming one of the most common doubt-causing questions that plagues so many aspiring entrepreneurs, “Why would anyone buy from me?”

Sometimes we ponder upon this question because our product or industry is much too saturated or we think that there are already people who are better known in this industry. And while these may be true, that does not mean we can’t make a profit.

I talk about the importance of being a good storyteller for both your own story and that of your business and the power of making connections. This can have a tremendous impact on how people react to you and your brand. YOU are the reason people choose to buy from you.

In this week's episode, I talk about the story of my quarter-life crisis while working as a civil engineer and the steps I took to get from there to what I do today, which is doing something I love!

I was the dispassionate employee who worked for the weekends and longed for something else in life. All I was doing was trying to find an escape from the reality that I lived from 9-5, Monday through Friday.

As I looked for an escape, I found biking, and what started as biking a few miles to get to work led to me biking around the country. When I returned from my trip, something snapped, and I knew that I no longer wanted to work in civil engineering. So, I began to explore other passions such as fitness and photography. These were things that I loved doing, and the idea of making money through something I had fun doing drove me to continue learning. I continued my journey that led me to where I am today and where I want to help others arrive as well.

This week on the Modern Happiness Podcast, Matt and Taylor got to sit down and interview Amanda Harper the founder of @_harpermade Jewelry.

Almost 8 years ago, Amanda was managing a clothing store and knew in her heart that it wasn't the job for her. Instead of working her life away for someone else, she decided to get creative. She went to a Michaels craft store one day and picked up supplies to make her own jewelry.

This fun creative hobby turned into a huge opportunity and she has been able to successfully run a business of her own for the last 8 years...check out her designs @_harpermade on Instagram!

BUT that is not where the story stops. Amanda just launched a new product (one that is going to change the way people wear earrings) called the EAR KIT. She launched a Kickstarter campaign for this revolutionary idea and had her goal funded within 6 hours. This woman is making waves in the fashion industry and we are so grateful that we got to sit down and pick her brain for this episode.

In a world where we are inundated with news, memes, and videos on how to feel, think and what to believe, we as a human race need to take a step back to see what we really want, what we really believe, and what is really possible for ourselves.

Happiness requires so much less of our modern world and technology, but we can’t simply throw out our phones and delete our emails. So how do we find happiness in our modern life?

Our goal is to share how we and our high performing guests choose happiness by covering topics such as fitness, mindset, relationships, business, and much more in today’s world.

On this first episode, we discuss how this podcast came to be, why we believe happiness is a choice, and how we choose happiness in our daily lives.
