Along the way, I encountered some obstacles that truly tested my commitment and this month I am sharing the biggest hurdle I have faced that straight had me shook!One of the biggest challenges was learning to let go of my own judgments and biases. It's not always easy to understand where people are coming from, but I realized that empathy is key. Another obstacle was facing rejection and sometimes even hostility from those I was trying to love. It was tough, but I kept reminding myself of the bigger picture.Now, let's talk about the three things that were my saving grace during those difficult times:Community: Having a supportive community around me was a game-changer. They provided a safe space to share my struggles and doubts, and their encouragement kept me going.Spiritual Strength: My faith in Christ gave me the spiritual strength I needed. Through prayer, meditation, and seeking guidance in the Word, I found the inner fortitude to keep loving even when it was challenging.Accountability: Having someone to hold me accountable was crucial. Prayer is simply a conversation. Because of past experiences I did not like or know how to develop a relationship with Christ. Prayer is communicating your feelings, thoughts, and desires to God. He prefers that we ask Him to do things rather than us thinking that He will automatically do them.

Hahaha another funny story on this journey is making the decision to be baptized but I did not want to get my hair wet...I was like Lord, please this is ya girl you know how many hours it takes to wash my hair. Being baptized is another step in showing our commitment to our relationship with Christ.

After years of church hopping, going from relationship to relationship, not knowing which church or religion was true Sionna had an encounter with the lord in the form of a dream. She remained stuck for years in a relationship that was not for her but this encounter changed her life. She had a friend that invited her to youth service and this is when she sought God more but the church was not the right fit until she had another dream that led her to the church she is now attending and this is how she was able to grow and find a community.

Jeremiah aka J-Stixx has given his life to Christ back in 2013 but has experienced struggles just like anyone else to remain in Christ. He found it hard to retain a relationship with God because of a newfound desire after moving from the sunny beaches in Jamaica to the cold climate of North America. He went into the military angry with the way his life was going and frustrated that he was able to change it. Later finding a job as a bouncer he saw all that he needed to see in the clubbing world and came back to Christ; learning to submit, healing from trauma and even finding a new life.

I did not find developing a relationship with christ as important because I did not see it in the lives of Christians around me. After giving my life to Christ and now living a life that I thought was now going to be perfect I kept making mistakes aka backsliding. Stayed weeks and months away from church because of shame and fear of me being struck down by lightning. Have you ever had your faith tested? How did you get through that season I had a season of brokeness. I thought this season would never end I was frustrated and angry until I heard the Holy Spirit tell me that had a bad relationship with money. What did that even mean? I had a poverty mindset. Renewing the mind is one of those things that takes work, time and effort. After we have developed a relationship with Christ we need help from the Holy Spirit to make changes in our lives, to know what changes need to be made and in some cases the causes. Pain from our past can hinder the way we love, and the lack of certain qualities can cause deficiencies leaving even Christians emotionally unavailable.

What is Grace? July we talked about grace but today LIVE for THE BIG EVENT we are talking about some experiences we need grace for. Grace is that thing that is needed, we receive but we do not see it. Grace is a part of our RIGHTS as Christians so all we need to do is ask for it! In the book of Nehemiah, we see how Nehemiah got the grace to work on his behalf. This is Journey in Christ's monthly event. True deliverance and revelation come when there is understanding, there are some areas in our lives where we need more revelation and there are others that we have been truly delivered from. When Moses went to deliver the Israelites it took 10 plagues (battles) for them to be set free. With deliverance, there are battles that are inevitable to come. The Lord sent Samuel to anoint the next king he went to the house of David and the first attack David encountered was with his very own father. Unknown to David his enemies were family members. He was out minding his own business when he was being overlooked and undervalued. When being delivered we need to be delivered from our enemies, from ourselves mentally and emotionally.

I have asked one too many times for the Lord to show me a sign, give me a word and more clarity after I have been given instruction but where hesitation comes is when I see someone else doing something similar and I start to compare. Many times I look at the person as being more capable than I am and feel uncomfortable completing the instruction. The instruction seems more difficult to do and sometimes I even forget what I was supposed to do. Gideon experienced something similar, he was afraid because of the hardship and had an encounter where an angel came to him while he was hiding "the Lord is with you, you mighty man of valour!" If you fail under pressure, your strength is small. When turbulence comes how do you respond? Turbulence can be family issues, financial issues, loss or hardship. Do you remember the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand? Isn't that a crazy story? The disciples were there and believed and not believed, had faith but were uncertain of their own faith. The disciples looked at the situation unable to see how they would be able to feed this crowd and decided to send the people home. But Jesus told them to get food from where you may ask? 5 loaves and 2 fishes could not feed a family but Jesus made the impossible possible through faith. Today we are talking about faith over fear!

Proverbs 12:22 ESV Lying is making an oath, promise or covenant made with someone that you are unable to keep the commitment. This is a business deal, partnership, marriage and even plans made with someone, tell the truth and ask for mercy (get out of that situation).

Religion is the belief that once we do wrong aka sin we will be punished while relationship allows each person to seek the Lord and establish a personal connection to the Lord Jesus. For so many years I felt convicted about every little thing I would do, if it was right or wrong, what others would say and I would stay far away from the church, my pastor or any Christian who I thought would judge me like the Pharisees and Sadducees. This point of view is judgemental and is quick to crucify. This is filled with guilt and condemnation and can bring pride by doing everything right through the law. While Jesus came to abolish the law and bring grace.

Can a Christian be a Christian without the Holy Spirit? What causes the Holy Spirit to be grieved and quenched? There are many Christians because of disobedience to an instruction from God, disobedience to the word or doing things according to their own feeling can grieve the Holy Spirit. Our own wants and desires come from the flesh. The flesh is the part of humans that tells us to do and say things that are erratic like eating sweets when we should not, having sex because the person looks good, disobeying authority because plain and simple you do not feel like it. Over and over the Bible reminds us that we need to die to our flesh, which means to deny those desires. Saying no to things that would normally have control over us.

I had this password for years and tried using it for this particular login, over and over again I tried until I was completely locked out. I no longer had access to the information, no longer had liberty to browse, no longer was able to have entrance to this particular site. I had to call the company, create a new login code but for a certain amount of time I did not have access. Not having access was very frustrating, uncomfortable and I no longer had freedom and liberty to this page.

The hardest part about being a Child of God and following God's word is not to understand it. It is hard to obey God's written word when we do not have a full understanding of it. For a very long time I felt guilty and condemned myself for not helping people that I came in contact with that needed money, food and my time outside of who I was already helping.

In the field of physical therapy after someone has been injured it is usually suggested that the person REST...many times clients refuse and argue that it is impossible to rest but rest allows the body time to repair, heal, to have the ability to regain energy and strength. Jesus said come to me all who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest. - Matthew 11:28-30 Rest is critical for healing and rebuilding. Rest is a natural reboot for the body. Spiritually we take time to reboot, reconnect, regain strength in God to continue our physical labor or day to day work.

Hebrews 12:8 NKJV When I was younger I remember I would try to get out of being disciplined through tears, sometime it would work and my dad would have pity on me but more times than not I was disciplined. A parent that truly loves and understands the importance of correction would correct their children.

We may overlook God in what we call the small blessings but He is there giving you the strength, power, anointing and understanding you need to receive those blessings. Have you ever felt insulted by someone who was simply trying to help you, but you felt like the person could've dealt with you how you had it plotted in your head? I know that has happened to me one time too many. This guy was sick with leprosy and someone suggested that he go to see a prophet. He went to see this prophet and the prophet never came out to speak to him, this guy was a commander, he was chief of police, he was known in his circle. He had already thought of how God heals, how God speaks and what God will do, he said "Surely he will come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord. Who told him that was the way it would happen?

Over a few weeks, I have been having conversations with many, many family members because there was a specific question that kept running through my mind and it was "how did they choose your spouse?" It sounds pretty simple you meet someone and fall in love, have children; you heard it all before. Give it more thought and you will realize that it is a deep question. The person that you were then(when you first got married and fell in love) you are no longer, how did you know that this would be the right person for you when you change? The latter is rhetorical because you could never know.

"When the purpose of a thing is unknown abuse is inevitable."- Myles Munroe Although the Israelites disobeyed God, He sent a special child to help deliver them from the hands of the Philistines. Before he was born his parents got special instructions. They should not drink wine or anything similar, do not to eat anything unclean or put a razor to his head. Samson was consecrated to the service of God. Samson was powerful, he defeated the Philistines with a jawbone, he killed a lion with his bare hands. His strength came from the Lord, when he was depleated and needed strength he would pray and he would be able to defeat his opposers. Until Judges 16 after Samson fell for the tricks of Delilah, who was paid to find out where the source of Samsons strength came from. Instead of praying for strength to get out of that situation Samson prayed for strength for the last time, he killed more that day than he killed in his lifetime. Samsons life came to an abrupt end. Was destiny fulfilled in his life? Did he fulfill purpose?

My first year out of high school I thought I was so smart, no one could tell me anything. I was officially a woman. All these years I waited to make decisions on my body, to be able to go to the club and now the time was finally here. I went out with my friends from my neighbourhood so that I could be with my boyfriend. No one approved of him, he was the neighbourhood gangster and I was the little church girl. Shortly after our entanglement, I found out I was pregnant. The feeling was mixed, I was happy but I was scared. What would my parents say? How would my dad feel? His daughter recently graduated, I was supposed to go off to college and now pregnant. Over a few months, my mom noticed the changes. I was hormonal, sick and preferred specific food. This was not in the plan. We discussed the pregnancy with my parents who were both very furious. They could not believe how I would ruin my life for someone who didn't make plans for their future. That sentence hits so differently when you are grown and mature mentally and emotionally. At that time I could not understand why they would say such a thing about such a nice young man. That relationship in the end brought me so much heartache; I first lost the baby, then I found out about his multiple girlfriends and realized how much of a liar he was. This was not in God's plan at all for me to go through this. His plans are for good not of disaster. "My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts, " says the Lord. "And my ways are far beyond anything you can imagine." Isaiah 55:8 NLT

Partnership is much like a marriage. Marriage in itself is unity and oneness. It is selflessness, dedication, work, communion and fellowship. The Holy Spirit is a bridge from our hearts to God. My encounter with God's love, with the Holy Spirit, made me realize all the pain, hurt and suffering I had experienced did not have to continue. It could end there with Him. After I had encountered peace and I longed for more of it, which was my longing for more of God and connecting with the Holy Spirit. "I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one." John 17:22 NLT
God made man in His image, to have dominion, to be free thinkers, to be creative, to become our own genius. We were born to lead. The ability to lead is in each and everyone of us.

Many times in our attempt to grow and better ourselves we find success in other aspects of our lives and ignore our spiritual lives. To have success in every aspect of our lives me must apply the same characteristics, the same principles to everything we do even the spiritual aspect. There are some key attributes to gain success: preserverance, hard-work, diligence and discipline to name a few.
There's a story in 1 Samuel about a lady by the name of Hannah she was barren and could not have children, there was Eli the priest that had sons that were rebellious and dishonored God's word. Hannah asked God for a son and promised to give him back to God (to serve). Eli being the priest that he would submit to and he would counsel. Submission is easy when we can see their good fruits, when everything seems to go right...how about when it goes wrong or doesn't look the way you've planned.

In the commandments God said to seek Him first and put no one or nothing before Him. But it reminds me of me, to be first. Peter asked Jesus how many times are we supposed to forgive our brothers, people around us. He hoping for a number that can justify him not forgiving someone who may have continuously hurt him. There was the guy at the tombs, the guy with the withered hand and the paralytic who did not get distracted or follower the nay sayers when they spoke against and tried to stop Jesus' ministry. The story with the guy at the pool was one that makes you realize that many times we are focused on the wrong thing, maybe we just don't get or didn't find the solution to the problem. This guy was face to face with the problem-solver and started to focus on the problem. When it is time to be set free from our generational strongholds we look back and our family saying well this one didn't get healed, married or saved but you are the point of contact for the people in your family to see that they can be set free! The guy at the pool had a bit of faith that got him believing that there is hope for healing but he was thinking healing came from the pool. The deliverance we need comes from revelation, knowledge and application of God's wisdom. Knowing what to do and when to do it takes wisdom.
There are two guys that stand out so significantly to me when I think about wisdom and that's Joseph and Solomon. Join me as i share some testimonies and my view of their incredible wisdom and how they applied it to their daily lives. Their example is a guidance for each of us to use in our daily lives.
