Headquartered in Churchill, Manitoba. Like the slow train north, The How Do You Do Revue connects music & friends from Winnipeg to the Hudson Bay coast. We feature dispatches from folks across the province and the country. And just like that train, no two trips are the same!
The show originates every Friday from 6pm-7pm on CKUW 95.9 FM in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The show also airs every Monday from 8pm-9pm on CHMR 93.5 FM in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador, and every Saturday from 2pm-3pm on CJAM 99.1 FM in Windsor, Ontario-Detroit, Michigan.
This week, we felt the magic. Songs about magic, songs that are magical both new and old, and the magic of The Croaky Crooner. Oh, ohhhh it's magic!

This week, we're doin' a bit of night-chillin', if that's a real thing when it comes to music. And I think it is! This time of year, a lot of music is listened to in the dark, so it's got me in that kind of a mood. We've also got another instalment of The Croaky Crooner. He's a fella who has been recording a song every Saturday on his Facebook page, and as this show features as much North of 58° as we can, I thought this was this perfect radio home for it. Best friends of the show Tim Friesen and Danny Johnson were in charge of this one. In late September, our group of friends lost one of its pillars when Stephen Harfield (aka Harf) passed away at his home in Edmonton. Our hearts are with his wife, Kristin, and the rest of his family and friends. For a glimpse into what he meant to us, and for a peek at his eclectic musical taste, have a listen to this one. One of the perks of having your own radio show, is you can do a show about whatever you want! 25 years ago this month, I became pals with some of the best dudes I know. We're in Winnipeg again, and a little upset because James Taylor and Jackson Browne's concert here in the Manitoba capital was cancelled. So, we pivot and do a show about 70's singer-songwriters to make us feel a little better. Tim Friesen joins us to play some of his favourites from the genre.

We're in Winnipeg this week, and before the storm(?) that hit just before Easter Weekend, we got to sit down with Winnipeg staples Twisty Fodey and Joe Myles, who happen to have their own radio show that has been on hiatus since the pandemic. The Wee Hourswill return to UMFM 101.5 FM in a few weeks, but on this show we get a bit of a taste.

This week, I get to talk to a fellow member of the Churchill Media Club, Peter Mansbridge from his home in Stratford, Ontario. Plus we revisit an old segment from CBC Fort Churchill, Cook n' Country featuring Wilf Cook & The Rhythm Makers.

This week, we focus on the nocturnal. Songs that go well with a starry sky, late night walks, late night drives, late night anything.
This week, we finish off our overflow of song requests by donors of CKUW's Fundrive. Plus things get a little dreamy, distortiony, and reverby. Those last two are officially words in my dictionary now. Oh, and I'm told it's my birthday.
The all-request Thank You show! Thanks to those who pledged during the 2021 CKUW Fundrive. Everyone who did got a request! We hear tunes picked by Arif, Glen, Shannon, Rob, Tim, Aidan, Tim, Samantha, Gina, Adam, John, Roxy, and Kent. We'll get to the rest next week. Thanks again, folks!

On this week's Revue, it's off to Toronto to play some music from the Big Smoke. Plus a salute to Kris Kristoffersen, who announced his retirement this week.
On the show this week, we chatted with Churchill musician Roy Mexted about the upcoming online Churchill Variety Show. This, plus a happy 20th birthday to the Times Change(d) High & Lonesome Club. Short ‘n sweet!
I’ve always said my memory lane is a well-worn path. If you’re a regular listener to this show, you’ll know that to be a fact! This week, I recall the time the World Wrestling Federation came to Winnipeg back in February of 1994, which was the same weekend that our Churchill Atoms hockey team flew down to the city to play some games, and by a crazy coincidence, the wrestlers were in the same hotel as us. Incredible. Between that and some video game tunes, this is right in the ol’ wheelhouse. We also showcase a new project by Elliot Britton called Data Tonka, and we’ll let you know all about the Manitoba Book Jam coming up next week featuring good pal Darren Ridgley. Waxing nostalgic always.
I suppose the holidays are over now. What does that mean in 2021? Well, it means the NHL season is only a week away! We’re still living in Bizarro World, that’s for sure. We start the show with some songs from the 1996 compilation album “Hockey Rock: Winnipeg Style”, and along the way we’ll celebrate best friend of the show Tim Friesen’s birthday, and we’ll travel back and forth between Winnipeg and Brandon (songwise, that is). Go Jets Go!
Happy New Year, everyone! I don’t think people have been so anxious to let a year go than 2020. So, 2021 it is. And it starts off with another fun episode as we’re joined by Sonny Ennis for another round of bullshitting and playing some of our favourite tunes from the east coast. I sure hope we’ll hear him on this program some more. Go Canada Go!
This was our 2020 Newfoundland Christmas Special! Sonny Ennis is my former co-host on a show we did almost 15 years ago on CBC Radio in Churchill called Shot For Shot Wednesdays and he also is no stranger to the airwaves in Central Newfoundland as he hosted Homebrew on 650 VOCM, and Sundays With Sonny on K-Rock. He joined us from Gander, NL to talk about the holidays on the Rock, and what make them an absolute riot. We also played some of our favourite Newfoundland Christmas tunes. And yes, we yammered on just like old times. Music & Friends! I hope your day was filled with that also.
