Ever have a hunch that being a mother is much much bigger than what meets the eye?  That there are larger forces at play?

Well, friend, that hunch is spot on.

In today's episode, I talk about the soul contract children have with us and how although they feel like they belong to us, they actually don't.  Our roles are to provide the nurturing they need but their souls - well, how do you put ownership on a soul?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

If you don't already, come follow me at renegades_2.0 over on the gram.  Let me know what you thought of this episode.

Lovingly,
Serene xoxo

As many of you know, I hate the word guilt. And I don't hate many things. Guilt implies there's wrongdoing and a feeling of falling short because of it.

Oftentimes, the barometer or standard that has brought on the guilt is self-imposed based on what social expectations you've adopted as your own.

However, if you searched inward and pretended that nothing but your own inner voice existed, you'd know that your heart is ALWAYS well-intentioned. It truly is.

The choices you made or the actions you took were made for the right reasons AT THE TIME.

You can't measure yesterday from the lens of today. You're not the same person, and you're plain not being fair to yourself (be nice to yourself! lol)

Maybe you were trying to protect yourself or someone else. Perhaps you didn't have ample time to consider the consequences. Even if the reasons aren't clear to you as to why a decision was made, I assure you, if you dig deeper, the reason will emerge. And it made sense to you at the time.

No more does this ring true, then with our relationship with our kids.

Far too many moms carry around guilt - for being too much, not enough, and everything in between.

For being short with their kids, not making a game, picking them up late.

We're tasked with a beautiful, sacred role, but one that is extremely profound. That's not lost on a single mother out there. The burden of parenting and nurturing humans to their potential is monumental.

So, give yourself grace, compassion and forgiveness.

Forgiveness, to rebuild, strengthen or repair the magical relationship you have with your children. Even if you're 99 reading this and you've been wanting to reach out and reconnect with your child.

Don't let guilt - or the normalization of guilt - a construct of the Ego by the way- separate you from incredible connectedness to those who matter the most to you. Your kids don't need ALL THE THINGS; just to be seen through your loving eyes.

In today's episode, I talk about guilt and 3 ways to repair or solidify the relationship you have with your children - NO MATTER THEIR AGE.

Send me a shot out and let me know if today's episode was helpful to you, friend!

There are two basic core human emotions from which all other emotions stem: love & fear.  The problem is, most of the times, we're camp Fear.   It's part physiological but a whole lot learned.

And we're so good at feeling fear that it's  sadly an addiction for many.  It's easy and comforting to feel the way we've always felt rather than adopt a new way of feeling.  That, of course, would require a new way of thinking.  And the new way of thinking would require awareness around our feelings and the work to change it.

Sure, we can stay in the spaces that give us the comfort we desire, but fear expends our energy whereas love restores our energy.   There's positive forward moving momentum with love versus stuck energy with fear.

The good thing is, YOU'RE never bound to one way of feeling even if you're fear-addicted.

Listen to today's episode to learn how!

How many of you were encouraged to express your feelings growing up?

Tides are certainly shifting in the favor of self-expression - in all forms - but for many of us, talking, sharing, indulging in our feelings was not encouraged, leaving many of us unsure how to do it! Yes, even as adults. Especially as adults.

Have you ever noticed how children have zero qualms about throwing a tantrum or telling you when they don't want to do something? They're not as concerned about how their reactions impact you - they're feeling their raw emotions.

Adults, on the other hand, are on the other end of the spectrum. We not only don't discuss our feelings, we also shrink back from any and ALL feelings & emotions that don't feel good.

"Good vibes only"...."It'll all be okay"...."It'll blow over" are the phrases we tell ourselves and each other to get the instant balm of feeling better.

But that's a farse. All we're doing is cutting off the limb of a dragon and at some point that dragon is going to come roaring it's fiery breath like somethin' fierce (I don't know who's taken over my writing today - farse? qualms? somethin' fierce? - just go with it lol)

As mothers, we want to help our children navigate their emotions and learn to express them in healthy ways - with boundaries AND confidence.

But we can't do that unless we know how to express & navigate our own feelings & emotions.

If we’re not tapped into expressing our feelings & emotions, and we turn away from the feelings & emotions that bring us discomfort, sadness, heaviness, etc., we’re raising a generation to do the same.

With the rise of mental health challenges for our youth, being able to identify, express and share their emotions is an essential way to diffuse the many unhealthy ways unaddressed feelings can manifest.

When they see you expressing your feelings & emotions, they know they can too.

And, it keeps the lines of communication wide open during the years they need a trusted adult the most.

Hello, my friends and welcome to the first episode of my podcast!  I'm so passionate about what I have to share with you that I finally agreed to start a podcast after countless attempts to ignore the nudges.

Today I'll be sharing a little bit about my message around conscious motherhood  (notice I didn't say parenting), WHO I am and the importance of being a conscious mother - especially if you're a busy, career-oriented mama with VERY little time to devote to herself.

Motherhood is sacred but can be depleting, defeating and on many occasions not the way we imagined it would be (thank you, Disney).

On the other hand, it can be an incredible source of nourishment to our souls and can lead us back to our essence.  And parenting from there - woah - everyone wins and the ripple effects extend far beyond just ourselves (although that part is prettttty sweet).

Join me as we "wake up" to spiritual & conscious practices to reconnect with yourself  AND your beautiful children and anchor into the magic of simplicity, play and the present moment.
