Dragline Episode information:Episode 834 of the Pennsylvania Rock Show welcomes the return of Pittsburgh-area hard rock band Dragline for a special look back and look forward. Host Bill revisits Episode 409, originally recorded in February 2018, when he took the Pennsylvania Rock Show on the road to hang out with the band at their rehearsal space. What followed was one of the most entertaining and unpredictable interviews in the show’s history.
Back in 2018, Bill sat down with Jimmy, Jay, and Mike to discuss everything from family life and memorable concerts to the formation of Dragline from the ashes of the Midnight Plowboys. The conversation wandered through stories of life as working musicians, favorite bands, songwriting influences, unforgettable gigs, and the creative process behind their original song “Rock and Roll Machine.”

The band performed regionally in Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas from 2013-2020 opening for some notable pop punk acts of the time such as Yellowcard, Carousel Kings, and Freshman 15 – as well as nationally touring bands on more of the ska side of things like Survay Says, The Supervillains, and Ballyhoo! Always trying to bridge the gap between the two mostly unrelated genres, the band made many connections in the scene and is still releasing music to this day. On Episode 742 of the Pennsylvania Rock Show, Bill will be joined by Fridge Rock/Pantry Punk band The Parishables in support of their upcoming music video release for the song “I’m Pissed Off.”
The story of The Parishables dates back to 1996 when frontman Brandon Parish and drummer EJ Novak first met in kindergarten, long before their dreams of performing in front of crowds ever took shape. During middle school, they picked up their instruments and formed their first band together, sparking their shared dream of making music. However, like many young projects, the band was short-lived, pushing them to develop their skills individually.
EJ continued playing drums throughout high school, eventually forming bands and performing at local venues, though without major commercial success. Meanwhile, Brandon recorded original songs on cassette tapes and jammed with other small bands but eventually stepped away from the music industry, content to play on his own at home.
Years later, fate reconnected the two musicians when EJ reached out to Brandon, who had recently reignited his passion for music after attending a Slipknot concert. The timing was perfect, and The Parishables were born out of their revived musical energy. In June 2024, Trevor Murray joined the band as their bassist, transforming The Parishables into a Fridge Rock/Pantry Punk trio.

Noble Hops has released their first single of 2024 titled “Me For Me”. The song is a personal one for founding Noble Hops member Utah Burgess, who wrote it back in 2015.“It is a reflective song, while maintaining a statement that, basically, things are what they are, and I’ve done the best I can”, says Burgess. Kilmaine Saints is a band formed on good whiskey and bad intentions. The brainchild of two members of a Harrisburg Pipe & Drum band, this project was originally created with the sole intent of getting them free beer at St. Patrick’s Day shows in the central PA area (and might I add- mission accomplished). After incorporating the help of fellow members from the pipe band and other notable musicians from the area, they soon realized they were in for one hell of a ride. Since 2009 they have continued to pound through blistering, high-energy live sets that keep people singing along, stomping their feet, lifting their pints and shouting for more.
