One of the most often misused and misunderstood gifts of the Spirit in today's Pentecostal church is the gift of prophecy. It begins first with a biblical definition of "prophesy" along with understanding how exactly this gift was first used in the New Testament. Interpretation of tongues doesn't need to be as spooky or strange as many think. In this teaching, Pastor Tom explores some practical ways the gift of interpretation can be used to edify the church in several different contexts.
Pastor Tom offers some practical ways in which the gifts of Prophecy, Words of Wisdom, and Words of Knowledge can be used in a church service without getting into unbiblical territory. He also gives a detailed analysis of each gift in this teaching.
This is the opening message in a series teaching on the Gifts of the Spirit which are described in 1st Corinthians 12-14. Today, Pastor Tom breaks down the biblical evidence for the continuation of the gifts and previews upcoming teachings on the individual gifts with a focus on avoid misuse, abuse, and chaos in the church.
While this message was specifically for Northstar, it is a timely message to the Christian church at large because in order to reach this generation, the church must speak the truth about every subject. Listen as Pastor Tom teaches on how to love this generation to speak the truth IN LOVE without compromise in a way they need to hear it.
