The brokan mews का पहला सीजन मुझे बहुत पसंद आया था, सो दूसरा जब से आया देखने का मन था। लेकिन समय नहीं मिल पा रहा था, खैर इस सन्डे फाइनली इसे निपटा दिया। कहने को तो ये सीरीज एक अंग्रेजी सीरीज प्रेस का हिंदी संस्करण है पर इसे देखते हुए आपको अपने आस पास मीडिया की दुनिया में घटी ढेरों घटनाएं याद आ जायेगें। यहां आपको पैगेसिस मिलेगा, एल्ट्रोल बॉन्ड मिलेगा, आई टी ट्रॉल्स मिलेंगे, कहीं आपको सुशांत सिंह राजपूत याद आए तो कहीं अर्नब, कहीं रवीश कुमार तो कहीं रुबिका लियाकत। तारीफ करनी पड़ेगी विनय वैकल की जिन्होंने इसे शुरू से लेकर अंत तक पूरी तरह एंगेज कर के रखा है। राइटिंग टॉप नोच है और एक एक संवाद मारक।
सीरीज में एक तरफ सरकारी या कहें "गोदी" मीडिया है जिसके संचालक जयदीप अहलावत हैं तो दूसरी तरफ लिबरल या कहें "देशद्रोही" मीडिया है जहां कमान संभाली है श्रिया पिलगांवकर ने और दोनों ही एक दूसरे से विपरीत एक्सट्रीम नैरेटिव सेट करते हैं जो टीआरपी की बिसात पर खेले जाने वाला एक गंदा खेल बनके रह जाता है। पत्रकारिता से कोसों दूर ये लोग अपनी सहूलियत अनुसार अपने अपने पक्ष को चमकाने में लगे रहते हैं, इन्हें वास्तविक समस्याओं से कोई मतलब नहीं, फिर चाहे इसके लिए किसी के दुख को उधेड़ना पड़े, किसी का कैरेक्टर असासिनेशन कर उसे नंगा करना पड़े, या फिर झूठे बयानों से सत्ता पक्ष या विपक्ष को नुकसान पहुंचना पड़े। और इन सबके बीच एक निडर, गैर पक्षपाती पत्रकारिता का परचम बुलंदी से थामे नजर आती है सोनाली बेंद्रे। आखिरी एपिसोड में श्रिया का मोनिलॉग आज के हर पत्रकार को सुनना चाहिए और केवल पत्रकार ही नहीं बल्कि हम दर्शकों को भी।
प्रमुख कास्ट तो खैर है ही शानदार पर उनके अलावा भी फैसल रशीद, तारक रैना और गीता ओहल्यान का काम विशेष उल्लेखनीय है। क्यों अच्छे पत्रकार एंकर बन जाने के बाद अपना असली धर्म भूल जाते हैं ? क्यों किसी कम जानकर को भी एक नरेटिव सेट करने के लिए मेलोड्रामेटिक एंकर बना दिया जाता है ? क्यों व्यवस्था के ये चौथा खंभा आज खोखलाता जा रहा है ? ये सीरीज बहुत से सवाल छोड़ जाती है।

हर इंसान के भीतर होते हैं कुछ अंधेरे बंद कमरे, जिन पर अकल मोटे मोटे ताले लटका कर दबा छुपा कर रखती हैं क्योंकि इंसान की अकल नहीं जानती कि इन अधेरों कमरों से कौन सा शैतान और कौन सा देवता निकल आए जिसे नियंत्रित करना इंसान की सामान्य अकल के लिए मुश्किल हो जाए। पर प्रेम और नफरत दो ऐसे एक्सट्रीम भाव होते हैं जो हदें पार कर जाए तो इनकी शिद्दत से इन बंद कमरों का कोई न कोई ताला टूट भी जाता है।
आज मैं जिस फिल्म का जिक्र कर रहा हूं वो करीब 5 साल पुरानी है पर मुझे लगता है इस विषय पर बनी शायद देश की पहली और अब तक तो आखिरी फिल्म होगी ये। आमिस का विषय क्या है वो बता दूंगा तो आपका सस्पेंस खत्म हो जाएगा, पर जो भी है, बहुत विचलित करने वाला, और घिनौना है, और ऐसे विषयों को छूने की हिम्मत कम ही निर्देशक कर पाते हैं।
मूल रूप से असमी भाषा में बनी इस फिल्म में दिखे हैं लिमा दास और अर्घदीप बरुआ और दोनों ही कलाकारों ने कमाल का काम किया है विशेषकर लीमा ने। एक दृश्य में जब नायक विभिन्न पशुओं का जिक्र करता है तो एक घरेलू पार्टी में बैठी नायिका के एक्सप्रेशन देखने लायक हैं शायद यही वो पल रहा होगा जब नायिका के भीतर का अंधेरा कमरा खुला होगा और वो दैत्य बाहर निकला होगा।
फिल्म सोनी लिव पर हिंदी में भी उपलब्ध है हालांकि मैंने मूल असमी में देखी और ये मेरी लाइफ की पहली असमी फिल्म है। पर मैं ये फिल्म आपको रिकमेंड नहीं करूंगा। क्योंकि ऐसी फिल्में देखने के लिए बहुत ही मजबूत दिल जरूरी है। ये मनुष्य के अंदर के जानवर का एक ऐसा डरावना चेहरा आपके सामने रखेगा जो 100 हॉरर फिल्म से भी ज्यादा खौफ आपके अंदर जगा देगा। अपने रिस्क पर देखना चाहें तो देख सकते हैं।

इंडियन ott की शायद सबसे लोकप्रिय फ्रेंचाइज है पंचायत जिसके 4 साल में 3 सीजन आ चुके हैं। ताजा सीजन का इंतजार तो साल के पहले महीने से हो रहा है लेकिन मई के आखिरी सप्ताह में आखिरकार प्राइम विडियो पर आए नए सीजन ने साबित कर दिया कि इंतजार का फल मीठा ही है।
इस सिरीज़ की सबसे बड़ी खासियत है इसका एकदम वास्तविक सा सेटअप। कुछ भी यहां फेब्रिकेटेड नहीं लगता। दूसरा है इसकी कास्टिंग फिर वो सचिव जी जितेंद्र कुमार हों, प्रधान जी रघुबीर यादव और उनकी पत्नी नीना गुप्ता हो, उप प्रधान फैसल मालिक या फिर सहायक चंदन रॉय, और सभी साथी किरदारों के लिए भी जिन्हें चुना गया है उन सबका काम कमाल का है। फैजल मालिक रेगुलर कास्ट में यकीनन हाइलाइट हैं। इन सबसे ऊपर जिस तरह की परिस्थितियां यहां जन्म लेती है वो नए होने के साथ साथ जम कर हंसाते भी हैं, और इसमें संवादों का अहम रोल रहता है। सीधे सरल संवाद और उनकी अदायगी उन्हें स्वता ही लोकप्रिय बना देते हैं। जैसे कि इस सीजन में घोडे की खरीद को किसी के सम्मान से जोड़ कर देखना या फिर सरकारी योजनाओं को लेकर की जाने वाली पॉलिटिक्स आदि सबप्लॉट्स अधिकतर दर्शकों के लिए काफी नए और अनूठे ही हैं।
जितने भी नए किरदार जोड़े गए हैं सब के सब कहानी के फ्लो में रमे से लगते हैं। बनराकस दुर्गेश कुमार, क्रांतिदेवी सुनीता राजभर, बिनोद अशोक पाठक और रिंकी संविका के किरदार को इस बार खासा एक्सटेंशन मिला है। अनुराग सैकिया ने दमदार पार्श्व संगीत के साथ साथ कुछ बढ़िया गाने सजाए हैं थाली में। कुल मिलाकर ये 56 भोग वाली ये देसी दावत यकीनन भरपूर एंजॉय करने लायक है। ऐसा कॉन्टेंट मिस करने लायक तो हरगिज़ नहीं है।

आज से करीब 30 साल पहले एक फिल्म आई थी खलनायक, जिसके गाने खूब चर्चित हुए थे विशेषकर चोली के पीछे जो अपने लिरिक्स के चलते विवादों में घिर गया था। पर विवादों से ऊपर उठाकर अगर आप इस 7 मिनट लंबे गीत को ध्यान से सुनोगे तो पाओगे कि इस गाने की धुन उसका शानदार अरेंजमेंट, पार्श्व में बजाए गए वाद्य आदि अपने दौर से काफी आगे थे। लक्ष्मीकांत प्यारेलाल की जोड़ी के इस गीत का लोहा तो ए आर रहमान ने भी माना जब उन्होंने इस गीत को एक ट्रिब्यूट दिया स्लमडॉग मिलेनियर में। और अब देखिए फिल्म क्रू का पूरा का पूरा पार्श्व संगीत इसी गीत से प्रेरित है। फिल्म में इस गीत का एक रीमिक्स संस्करण भी है जो दमदार है।
क्रू टिप्स वालों की फिल्म है और वो भी टी सिरीज़ और सारेगामा की तरह अपने ही 90s के गीतों को उलट पलट कर पेश की कोशिश में लग गए हैं। लेकिन क्रू के मामले में ये कोशिश रंग ही लाई है। इला अरुण का घाघरा और गोविंदा करिश्मा का सोना कितना सोना है भी फिल्म में शामिल हैं और उन्हें परफेक्टली ब्लेंड किया गया है। बात करें फिल्म की तो जिस फिल्म में तब्बू, करीना और कृति सनन जैसी खूबसूरत बालाएं एक साथ हो, तो पैसा वसूल मनोरंजन लाज़मी है। दिलजीत और कपिल शर्मा भी दिखते हैं सपोर्ट में पर फिल्म पूरी तरह वूमेन पावर से लबरेज है।
कहानी में अच्छे खासे ट्विस्ट एंड टर्न हैं, थ्रिल है, कॉमेडी भी है यानी एक फूल पैकेज है मनोरंजन का। फिल्म अब नेटफ्लिक्स पर उपलब्ध है, देख डालिए एंजॉय करेगें।

कुछ रिश्ते ऐसे होते हैं जिन्हें छोड़ने का बिलकुल मन नहीं होता पर इन्हें निभाया भी नहीं जा सकता। एक औरत और मर्द के बीच क्या कोई ऐसा भी रिश्ता हो सकता है जिसे किसी परिभाषा में नहीं बांधा जा सकता ? 8 AM Metro कोई टिपिकल लव स्टोरी नहीं है। यहां दो अजनबी मिलते हैं, बौद्धिक और भावनात्मक रूप से जुड़ते हैं मगर दोनों ही पहले ही किसी रिश्ते में कमिटेड भी है और उन रिश्तों से संतुष्ट भी।
8 AM Metro बहुत ही सेंसेबल फिल्म है जहां दो प्रमुख किरदारों के आपसी संवाद दिलचस्प होने के साथ बहुत सोच समझ कर लिखे गए हैं। फिल्म का अंत दिल तोड़ देता है। फिल्म किताबों की बात करती है, कविताओं कहानियों की बात करती है फिल्म के कम से कम तीन किरदार लेखक हैं, एक बुक सेलर और एक जबरदस्त पाठक भी। तो साहित्य में रुचि रखने वालों को ये खासी पसंद आयेगी। फिल्म का पार्श्व संगीत गहरा है और गीत बेहद मधुर।
गुलशन देवैया कमाल के एक्टर हैं, और सैयामी खेर कितनी खूबसूरत दिखी है जो अपनी आंखों से कितना कुछ कह देती है। बाकी भी सभी कलाकारों का काम बेहद सराहनीय है विशेषकर मृदुला के रोल में कल्पिका गणेश का। 8 AM Metro एक बेहरतीन फिल्म है जो सिनेमा घरों में कब आई कब गई किसी को पता नहीं चला। कितने अफसोस की बात है, बहरहाल अब आप इसे zee 5 पर देख सकते हैं।

श्रेयास तलपड़े एक ऐसे एक्टर हैं जो कम फिल्में करते हैं मगर चुनी हुई और सार्थक। कौन प्रवीण तांबे के बाद उनसे उम्मीदें और भी बढ़ गई हैं। इस हफ्ते चुप चाप उनकी एक फिल्म आई है कर्तम भर्तम यानी जो करेगा वो भरेगा। जीवन में निराश और हताश लोग अक्सर हस्तरेखाओं में न्यूमरोलॉजी में नाड़ी विशेषज्ञों के चक्कर में पड़ जाते हैं। यही इस फिल्म का मूल विषय है, जो कि काफी नया और ताजा है। पर अच्छी कहानी के बावजूद, काल और लक जैसी थ्रिलिंग फिल्म बनाने वाले सोहम शाह यहां पूरी तरह चूक से गए हैं। राइटिंग के स्तर पर भी फिल्म पूरी तरह बिखरी हुई है।
फिल्म में श्रेयस का एक पास्ट है, मगर उसके पिता के घोटालों पर कोई बात नहीं होती। इंटरवल तक फिल्म धीमी गति से चलती है और इंटरवल तक अपने सारे पत्ते खोल देती है। पोस्ट इंटरवल जो बदला दिखाया जाता है, पूरी तरह से कल्पना विहीन है। श्रेयास निराश नहीं करते, और विजय राज़ इंटरवल तक तो काफी सही लगते हैं लेकिन पोस्ट इंटरवल जो उनका पार्ट है उसके लिए मिस्कास्ट लगते हैं, यही बात मधु और गौरव डागर के लिए भी कही जा सकती है जिन्हें स्क्रिप्ट से भरपूर सहयोग नहीं मिला।
टाइटल सॉन्ग अलग अलग जगहों पर आता है मगर कोई इंपैक्ट नहीं क्रिएट करता । पार्श्व संगीत भी कमज़ोर है। इस विषय पर और इस कहानी पर सोहम शाह जैसा काबिल निर्देशक निश्चित ही बढ़िया फिल्म बना सकता था। बहरहाल इसे एक ऑपरच्युनिटी लॉस्ट ही कहूंगा मैं।

कुछ अभिनेता अपने किरदारों को इस कदर जीवंत कर देते हैं कि वो काल्पनिक होकर भी वास्तविक से लगने लगते हैं और दर्शकों के जेहन में उनकी अमिट छाप रह जाती है, राजेश खन्ना का आनंद, देव साहब का राजू गाइड, अमिताभ का विजय, अमजद का गब्बर, अमरीश का मोगाम्बो या फिर हाल के दिनों में यश का रॉकी, या फिर प्रभास का महेंद्र, इसी कड़ी में जुड़ गया है फहाद का रंगा भी, एक अनोखा किरदार जो उन्होंने निभाया है आवेशम में।
फिल्म में करीब 20-25 मिनट बाद इस किरदार की आमद होती है जिसके बाद फहाद से आपकी नजरें हटती नहीं है। जिन दृश्यों में वो नहीं दिखते वहां भी उसका एहसास बना रहता है। ये किरदार इरिटेट भी करता है, डराता भी है और खूब जम के हंसता भी है। कुछ सीन्स हाइलाइट हैं मसलन एक टॉवल डांस है फहाद का, एक एक्शन सीक्वेंस है कॉलेज कंपाउंड का जहां होली का थीम इस्तेमाल हुआ है, फिर एक अंडर कंस्ट्रक्टेड इमारत में एक्शन का जिसे मैंने कम से कम तीन बार रिवाइंड करके देखा, और फिर क्लाइमैक्स की फाइट तो है ही।
फहाद के साथियों का भी मेंशन जरूरी है, अंबन बहुत ही क्यूट और charming है, तो एक बूढ़ा साधू धमाका है, दो कुंग फू फाइटर्स भी है। इनके अलावा अपने प्यारे तीन कॉलेज के बच्चे, क्या कॉमिक टाइमिंग, कितना शानदार यंग टैलेंट प्रोड्यूस कर रहा है मलयालम सिनेमा। फिल्न का पार्श्व संगीत और गाने भी दमदार है। निर्देशक ने जिस ब्रिलियंस के साथ रंगा के किरदार को अवतरित करवाया है, तालियां बनती है। एक अब तक अनदेखे फहाद को डिस्कवर करने के लिए को देख सकते हैं आवेश्म ഇട മോനെ फिल्म प्राइम विडियो पर है।

यूं तो वेब सीरीज की दुनिया में LGBTQ समुदाय के लिए एक विशेष स्थान देखा जा सकता है पर मर्डर इन माहिम एक ऐसी सिरीज़ है जिसकी मूल कहानी ही इसी समुदाय के इर्द गिर्द बुनी गई है। दरअसल जब तक समलौगिक यौनाचार को न्याय की नज़र में अपराध माना जाता था तब तक उन लोगों के लिए जो इस प्रवृत्ति के होने के बावजूद खुल कर सामने न आए हों, उनके साथ कई तरह के अपराधों की खबरें आम हुआ करती थी। 8 एपिसोड्स की ये मर्डर मिस्ट्री सिरीज़ इसी दौर की कहानी कहती है।
आशुतोष राणा और विजय राज दोनों ही कहीं न कहीं एक जैसे किरदारों में टाइपकास्ट से हो रहे थे दोनों के लिए ही यहां जो किरदार लिखे गए हैं उनमें दोनों को ही अपनी प्रतिभा को एक बार फिर वैरिएशन के साथ सामने रखने का मौका मिला है। उनके बीच की केमिस्ट्री इस सीरीज का हाइलाइट है। अन्य कलाकारों में दिव्या जगदले मिली की भूमिका में और आशितोष गायकवाड यूनिट के किरदार में इंप्रेसिव हैं।
सस्पेंस को लंबे समय तक बरक़रार रखने के साथ साथ सीरीज एक कोशिश भी करती है इस समुदाय के प्रति संवेदना जगाने की विशेषकर माता पिता की तरफ से। एक जगह आशुतोष कहते हैं कि मुझे किसी के सेक्स प्रेफरेंस से समस्या नहीं है, पर अपने घर में मुझे मंजूर नहीं। एक जगह जहां समलैंगिक रिश्ते को वैलिडिटी न मिलने के कारण हम एक युवा को आत्महत्या करते हुए देखते हैं तो वहीं आशुतोष और विजय दोनों का किरदार इस समुदाय के प्रति अपनी सोच को बदलते हैं लेकिन एक लंबे प्रोसेस के बाद। विजय और उनके रिश्वतखोर पिता के बीच का टसल भी अच्छा निकल कर आया है।
मर्डर इन माहिम कुछ बहुत अलग या नया शायद ऑफर नहीं करती है पर सब्सक्रिप्शन मोड में आए जिओ सिनेमा पर कम से कम कुछ देखने लायक जरूर पेश करती है। सिरीज़ यकीनन आपको होल्ड करके रखती है।

अंग्रेजों के दौर का लाहौर शहर जहां का रेड लाइट एरिया था हीरामंडी, वो बदनाम गलियां जहां शहर के तमाम नवाबों की शामें गुजरती हैं, जहां खुद नवाबों की माएं बहनें और बीबीयां उन्हें भेजती है ताकि औरतों के साथ रहन सहन के तौर सलीकें वो सीख सकें। जहां नवाब नई तवायफों की आमद पर पुरानी को छोड़ देते हैं तो वहीं ये तवायफें जो खुद को फनकार कहती हैं, पूरी कोशिश करती है कि नवाबों की मिल्कियत का एक हिस्सा उनकी सेवाओं के बदले उन्हें मिल जाए। और इन सब के बीच तवायफों की आपसी रंजिशें, धोखे, साजिशें और पार्श्व में देश की आजादी की लड़ाई भी। नेटफ्लिक्स की इस सीरीज में संजय लीला भंसाली हमें एक नेवर सीन बिफोर वर्ल्ड में ले जाते हैं।
अपनी फिल्मों की तरह ही वो यहां भी एक बहुत ही ग्रैंड, रॉयल और आंखों को चकाचौंध करने वाली तिलस्मी दुनिया रचते हैं जहां हर फ्रेम एक खूबसूरत तस्वीर सा लगता है। विभु पुरी के संवाद एक्सीलेंट हैं, हालांकि आज के संदर्भ में आपको थोड़े ड्रैमेटिक या ओवर द टॉप लग सकते हैं पर एक तरह का गुड ओल्ड चार्म है, इनकी अदायगी में जो मुझे तो बहुत अच्छा लगा। इसके अलावा सिरीज़ का संगीत जो अगेन SLB का ही है शास्त्रीय राग, बंदिश और गायिकी का अद्भुत नमूना पेश करती हैं हालांकि ये SLB के कैलिबर के हिसाब से उतना सेटिस्फाइंग नहीं है।
बॉम्बे और दिल से हमने जिस मनीषा को देखा था, दुर्भाग्य ही है कि उनकी कला का भरपूर ईस्तेमाल बॉलीवुड नहीं कर पाया। लेकिन भंसाली की मल्लीकाजान जैसे मनीषा के लिए एक टेलर मेड रोल है and she is simply brilliant. सोनाक्षी की परफॉर्मेंस ऊपर नीचे होती रहती है पर अदिति राव हैदरी सहित अमूनन सभी कलाकारों का काम सराहनीय है विशेषकर इंद्रेश मालिक मास्टरजी के रोल में गजब हैं। हीरामंडी थोड़ी लंबी सीरीज है पर इसे तसल्ली से देखिए, लाहौर की ये पुरानी तंग गलियां आपको या तो बिलकुल नहीं भायेगीं या फिर दीवाना बना देंगी।

अक्सर आपने ऐतिहासिक और दार्शनिक स्थानों की दीवारों या चट्टानों पर लिखे हुए नाम पढ़े होंगे, कभी सोचा आपने कि उस लिखावट के पीछे भी कोई कहानी रही होगी। या फिर किसी किसी जगहों पर रिस्ट्रिक्टेड एरिया का बोर्ड देखा होगा आपने, लेकिन सोचा कभी कि वर्जित होने से पहले उन स्थानों के इतिहास में कुछ दर्दनाक हादसे भी रहे होंगे। मंजुमल बॉयज यूं तो एक सर्वाइवल थ्रिलर है पर निर्देशक चिदंबरन ने इसका जो बिल्ड अप दिया है, हर सोच हर निर्णय के पीछे की जो बैक स्टोरीज रची हैं वो इस फिल्म को एक कभी न भूलने वाला एक्सपीरियंस बना देता है।

तारीफ करनी पड़ेगी निर्देशिका पल्लवी रॉय की जिन्होंने मात्र तीन किरदारों को साथ लेकर एक संवेदनशील सब्जेक्ट पर बेहतरीन फिल्म बनाई है, कैमरा और संगीत भी विशेष तारीफ के हकदार हैं। कहानी काफी सच्ची सी लगती है, और अपने प्रमुख मुद्दे के साथ साथ कन्या भ्रूण हत्या और मानव तस्करी जैसे विषयों को भी हाइलाइट करती चलती है, विशेषकर फिल्म का क्लाइमैक्स शॉट अविस्मरणीय है।
परफॉर्मेंस की बात करें तो बाजी मारी है नेगेटिव रोल में भगवान तिवारी ने, बहुत ही कमाल काम किया है। संवारी के रोल में कनक गर्ग ने अपना सबकुछ झोंक दिया है विशेषकर क्लाइमैक्स सीन में उनके एक्सप्रेशन बहुत कुछ कह जाते हैं, सार्थक नरूला ने भी अपने किरदार के साथ भरपूर न्याय किया है। कुल मिलाकर Unwoman एक अच्छी देखने लायक फिल्म है जो अब जिओ सिनेमा पर स्ट्रीम हो रही है।

नसलीन के साथ फिल्म में दिखी है ममीथा बैजू जो न सिर्फ सुंदर लगी है, अभिनय में भी दमदार है। नसलीन के दोस्त की भूमिका में संगीत प्रताप ताजा हवा के झोंके सा लगते हैं, मलयालम फिल्म इंडस्ट्री निश्चित ही अपने इन युवा कलाकारों पर फक्र महसूस कर सकती है, जो आने वाले कल में भी इस इंडस्ट्री के स्तर और रूतबे को बरकरार रखेंगे इसमें कोई शक नहीं। फिल्म का संगीत भी कर्णप्रिय है।

इंसान की फितरत का एक उसूल है हमारे भाव विचार, रिश्ते नाते, प्यार दोस्ती बोल चाल का लहजा, हमारे आदर्श सब को बस एक ही चीज़ ड्राइव करती है और वो है हमारा स्वार्थ. स्वार्थ ही हमें बताता है कि हम किस परिस्तिथि में कौन सा निर्णय लें।
आट्टम यानी खेला, या नाटक, मात्र सवा दो घंटे में ये मलयालम फिल्म आपको इंसानी फितरत के इतने रंग दिखा देती है कि आप भी मजबूर हो जाते हैं अपने गिरेबान में झाँकने के लिए.. फिल्म आनंद एकर्षी निर्देशित है और इतनी खूबी से कोस्ट कटिंग की है कि फिल्म का ९० प्रतिशत हिस्सा एक घर में शूट हुआ है. फिर भी हर कलाकार के संवाद उनकी सोच उनका व्यक्तित्व इतनी खूबी से उभर कर आया है कि दर्शक एक पल को भी यहाँ वहां झाँकने की हिमाकत नहीं कर पाते.
फिल्म का क्लाइमेक्स सबसे शानदार है. जहाँ कई मुखौटा धारी पुरुष फिल्म की एक एकमात्र नायिका ज़रीन शिहाब को घेरे खड़े हैं जिनमें से किसी एक ने उसके साथ कुछ गलत किया है. एक मुखौटा धारी खुद सामने आता है और अपना जुर्म कबूल करता है और नायिका से पूछता है कि क्या वो उसका चेहरा नहीं देखना चाहती, नायिका कहती है कि कोई फरक नहीं पड़ता मेरे लिए तुम और बाकी से ये 11 मर्द एक जैसे ही हो.

तीन दोस्त बचपन से ख्वाब देख रहे हैं एक साथ गोवा जाने का. स्कूल ख़तम हुए कॉलेज भी मगर सपना पूरा नहीं हो पाया दिल चाहता है टाइप गोवा ट्रिप का, समय बीतता गया. तीनों दोस्त अपनी अपनी ज़िन्दगी में सेटल हो गए या फिर सेटल होने की कोशिश में हैं. एक बार फिर सबका मिलना होता है और तय करते हैं कि अब तो वो बचपन का सपना साकार करके ही मानेगें. पर गोवा में जाकर ये तिकड़ी उलझ कर रह जाती है दो गैंगस्टरों की लड़ाई में और ड्रग माफिया पुलिस की गुथमगुथी में.
मडगाव एक्सप्रेस एक बढ़िया कॉमेडी फिल्म है, जिसमें निर्देशक कुणाल खेमू ने दिल चाहता है वाली वाइब्स को बखूबी इनकैश किया है. उनकी कॉमेडी स्लैपस्टिक और थोपी हुई नहीं लगती, कहानी कहने का फॉर्मेट एकदम सरल है कोई फ्लैशबैक नहीं कोई उलझी पटकथा नहीं सीधी सरल फ्लो में बहती कहानी के साथ दर्शक किरदारों से जुड़ते चले जाते हैं और हँसते चले जाते हैं.
दिव्येंदु का चेहरा उनके हाव भाव उन्हें कॉमिक रोल्स के लिए एकदम परफेक्ट बनाते हैं. शायद ही कोई दूसरा आज का अभिनेता उनके जैसी स्वाभाविक कॉमिक गैग कर सकता है. प्रतीक गाँधी हर नयी फिल्म के साथ अपने एक्टिंग स्किल्स के नए आयाम सामने रख रहे हैं। अविनाश तिवारी को हमने बहुत से गंभीर किरदारों में देखा है इन दिनों वेब सीरीज में, यहाँ उन्हें कॉमेडी करते देखना सुखद लगता है. इन तीनों एक्टरों की टाइमिंग अगर इस फिल्म की जान है तो उपेंद्र लिमाय और छाया कदम का वेटेरन टच, उनकी बैक स्टोरी, रेमो का गेस्ट अपीयरेंस, नोरा का आइटम डांस फिल्म में जरूरी मसालों की पूर्ती करता है.

कुछ कलाकार ऐसे होते हैं जिनके काम को बारीकी से समेटना लगभग असम्भव सा लगता है, और अगर आप ये कोशिश करते भी हैं तो आपको इसके लिए काफी लंबा समय या कहें अपने जीवन का एक पूरा कालखंड इस काम को समर्पित करना पड़ता है।

पत्नि प्रताड़ित पतियों की व्यथा जारी है सीजन 2 पहले के मुकाबले थोड़ा ज्यादा सीरियस होकर बनाया गया है, 6 की जगह 7 एपोसोड्स हैं और उनकी लेंथ भी अबकी बार ज्यादा है तो कहीं कहीं थोड़ी खींची हुई लगती है। पर इस बार इमोशनस को बेहतर अंदाज में प्रेजेंट किया गया है। इस सीरीज की खासियत ये रही है कि हंसी मजाक में भी अपने नरेशन और संवादों के माध्यम स्त्री पुरुष आइडियोलॉजी, और उनके संबधों पर बहुत बढ़िया कमेंट्स करती है जो दोनों ही जेंडर के लिए बहुत रिलेटेबल है।
इस बार पुरुषों के पीरियड्स पर हिलेरियस कॉमेंट है। अगर पुरषों की जगह स्त्री प्रधान होता समाज तो क्या होता इस पर भी पूरा एक सेगमेंट हैं। इस बार औरतें भी बार में जाती है और पुरुषों की कलाकारियों पर लंबे मोनिलोग देती है। 7 ईयर इच पर भी बात होती है। और इन सबके अलावा माता पिता और बच्चों के रिश्तों, सोसाइटी में पालतू जानवर रखने पर भी टिप्पणी हुई है। अभिनव की मेड का बिजनेस आइडिया भी मजेदार है।
सभी एक्टर्स का अभिनय और उनके बीच की केमिस्ट्री एक बार फिर ब्रिलियंट है। बस एक आध ट्रैक जैसे एम एल ए वाला थोड़ा जबरदस्ती का लगता है। लेकिन ये सीरीज कॉमिक और इमोशनल लेवल पर एक्सेल करती है और पूरे परिवार के साथ बैठ कर खूब एंजॉय की जा सकती है।

इंसान की कमज़ोरी यही है जब पैसा नहीं होता तो भिखारियों की तरह भगवान से पैसे मांगता रहता है, और जब पैसा आ जाता है तो वो पैसे को ही अपना भगवान बना लेता है।
शैतान गुजराती फिल्म वश का रीमेक है, मेकर्स ने चतुराई दिखाते हुए ओरिजनल को ओटीटी से हटा दिया ताकि एक बड़ा दर्शक समूह इसे देखने से वचिंत रहे और हिंदी संस्करण को बेहतर एंजॉय कर पाए। इसका फायदा निश्चित ही फिल्म को मिलेगा। कहानी और कांसेप्ट तो ब्रिलियंट था ही तभी रीमेक प्लान हुआ, कहानी में नयापन है तो स्क्रीनप्ले भी एकदम कसा हुआ है और हर पल आप उत्सुक रहते हैं ये जानने के लिए कि आगे क्या होगा। उपर से फिल्म की लेंथ जो मात्र 2 घंटे की है इसे कहीं भी उबाऊ नहीं होने देती।
फिल्म में प्रमुख रूप से बस 5 ही किरदार हैं और फिल्म की सफलता यही है कि इन सभी किरदारों के लिए जिन कलाकारों को चुना गया है उन सबने अपने अपने रोल को बखूबी अंजाम दिया है। माधवन की संवाद अदायगी, हाव भाव, बॉडी लैंग्वेज इतने कातिलाना हैं कि आपको उनसे नफरत हो जाए तो वहीं ज्योतिका ने एक मां के भय, उसकी असहायता, उसके गुस्से को एकदम भरपूर जिया है।
अच्छी बात ये है की अजय देवगन हीरो वाले अंदाज में कम एक पिता या फैमली मैन के रूप में ज्यादा नजर आए हैं। उनकी बेबसी वाले एक्सप्रेशंस उनकी काबिलियत दिखाते हैं, पर फिर भी उन्हें देखते हुए कहीं कहीं रह रहकर आपको दृश्यम भी याद आती रहेगी, जो एक अच्छा साइन नहीं है । दोनों बच्चों का काम लाजवाब है। मूल वश के मुकाबले थोड़ी कमतर होने के बावजूद शैतान एक अच्छी वन टाइम वॉच है।

OTT पर कोर्ट रूम ड्रामा तो बहुत से आए पर मामला लीगल है आपको कोर्ट परिसर में एक चेंबर का सपना लेकर ग्राहकों की राह तकते वकीलों की वास्तविक दुनिया में ले जाती है। हाल के दिनों में अक्सर कोर्ट परिसर से जुड़ी कुछ अनूठी बातें जैसे बंदरों के आतंक को कम करने के लिए वकीलों ने कुत्ते को शेर बना कर सामने रखा, या फिर कोर्ट परिसर में पुलिस और वकीलों में हुई झड़प, या फिर गाली देने वाला तोते पर चला मुकदमा, जैसी खबरें सुर्खियों में आई थी। सिरीज़ इन्हीं सब खबरों को बेहद दिलचस्प और कॉमिक अंदाज में आपके सामने रखती है जिसमें अच्छे चुटीले संवादों की अहम भूमिका है।
संवाद न सिर्फ सुपर फनी हैं बल्कि सीरीज के हर एक कलाकार ने उन संवादों का इतना बखूबी निभाया है कि आप हंसने पर मजबूर हो ही जायेगें। रवि किशन वी डी त्यागी के रोल में गजब लगे हैं। इसी हफ्ते में लापता लेडीज के बाद उन्होंने दिखाया है कि उनकी रेंज अगर ठीक से एक्सप्लोर की जाए तो वो कमाल कर सकते हैं। नैला ग्रेवाल के किरदार के माध्यम से न्याय के लिए सच झूठ के पलड़ों को तोलने वाले काले कोट वालों की दुनिया के जुगाड़ू तरकीबों को उजागर करने की कोशिश की गई है हालांकि कहीं कहीं वो ओवर एक्टिंग भी करती नजर आती है।
अनंत जोशी, निधि बिष्ट और कुमार सौरभ शो स्टीलर हैं, इनके वन लाइमर्स शानदार हैं। यशपाल शर्मा, तन्वी आज़मी, राजेंद्र गुप्ता, विजय राजोरिया, और बृजेंद्र काला जैसे वेटरन एक्टर्स कम दृश्यों में भी अपनी प्रेजेंस छोड़ जाते हैं तो छोटी छोटी भूमिकाओं में दिखे एक्टरों की भी कॉमिक टाइमिंग लाजवाब रही है।
अनंत जोशी का अपनी फियांसी को अपनी अवस्था समझने वाला सीन हो, राजेंद्र गुप्ता का रवि किशन के साथ के बाप बेटे वाले संवाद हो, निधि बिष्ट का गाली को डिफाइन करना हो, या कुमार सौरभ का लंगूर बनने वाला सीक्वेंस हो, मामला लीगल है कई मामलों में एक मजेदार और यादगार सीरीज है जो Netflix पर स्ट्रीम हो रही है।

बॉलीवुड में आज भी सार्थक फिल्में बनती है ये यकीन और पुख्ता हो जाता है जब आप लापता लेडीज जैसी सार्थक फिल्में देखते हैं। फिल्म का ट्रीटमेंट हालांकि कॉमिक है पर फिल्म बहुत से संवेदनशील विषयों को टच करती है विशेषकर देश के गांव देहातों में महिलाओं की अवस्था पर बहुत ही दमदार चोट करती है। निर्देशक किरण राव ने अपनी लेखक मंडली के साथ मिलकर एक बेहतरीन कहानी को बड़े ही दिलचस्प अंदाज में आप तक पहुंचाया है। संवाद बहुत ही चुटीले हैं छुपे हुए तीरों के साथ जो आपको गुदगुदाएंगे और सोचने पर भी मजबूर कर देंगे।
जमतारा से लाइम लाइट में आए स्पर्श श्रीवास्तव ने कमाल का काम किया है। एक दृश्य जिसमें को अंग्रेजी का प्रदर्शन करते हुए पूरा एफर्ट लगा कर आई लव यू बोलते हैं और बोलने के बाद जो एक्सप्रेशन देते हैं सच में गजब करते हैं। नितांशी गोयल ने अपने किरदार के ग्राफ को सुंदर तरीके से हैंडल किया है तो प्रतिभा रनता के किरदार के माध्यम से निर्देशक से कई जरूरी सवाल उठाए है। रवि किशन एक ऐसे भोजपुरी एक्टर हैं जिन्होंने अपने कंफर्ट जोन से बाहर आकर बार बार अपनी काबिलियत दिखाई है, यहां भी वो पूरी फिल्म की जान बने बैठे हैं विशेषकर क्लाइमैक्स में उनका काम देखते ही बनता है। इनके अलावा छाया कदम और दुर्गेश कुमार का काम भी बढ़िया है। इनफैक्ट पूरी कास्टिंग ही काफी अच्छी कही जा सकती है।
राम संपत को जब भी आमिर खान प्रोडक्शन के साथ काम करने के मौका मिला है उनका संगीत और भी निखरकर सामने आया है। लापता लेडीज हंसते हंसाते आपको उस वास्तविक भारत की मूलभूत समस्याओं से परिचित करवाती है जो हमारी सोच से जुड़ी हुई हैं और जिनके निवारण के बिना हमारी हर तरक्की अधूरी ही है। लापता लेडीज हम सबको अवश्य ही देखनी चाहिए।

जोरम और अज्जी जैसी विचारुत्तेजक फिल्में बना चुके देवाशीष मखीजा ने शुरुआत अनुराग कश्यप के साथ ब्लैक फ्राइडे से की थी, जिसके बाद उनकी एक के बाद एक 18 फिल्में शुरू होने के बाद बंद होती चली गई। 18 फिल्मों के रिजेक्शन का सारा गुस्सा, सारा आक्रोश उन्होंने अज्जी के किरदार में घोल दिया था जैसे।
अज्जी कहानी है एक बड़े शहर में समाज के सबसे छोटे पायदान पर रहने वाली एक 80 साल की दादी की जिसकी 10 साल की पोती के साथ दुष्कर्म होता है और जब कहीं कोई सुनवाई नहीं होती तब अज्जी खुद कानून अपने हाथों में लेकर, इंसाफ करने निकल पड़ती है। फिल्म अपने execution में बहुत वॉयलेंट और ब्रूटल है। लेकिन किरदार के इस अक्रोश में शामिल है एक कलाकार की पीड़ा, दर्द, अपमान, निराशा और गुस्सा भी। कहीं न कहीं इन्हीं सब भावों का मिश्रण हम देवाशीष की लघु फिल्म तांडव में मनोज बाजपेई के तांडव रूपी नृत्य में भी देखते हैं।
लीजिए सुनिए क्यों देवाशीष अपनी इस फिल्म को साइड इफेक्ट्स ऑफ Vigilante justice मानते हैं।

श्याम तेरी बंसी पुकारे राधा नाम : गीत याद है पर गायक नहीं।
श्याम तेरी बंसी, जब भी इस गीत को सुनो तो मन बरबस ही पहुंच जाता है यमुना तीरे, कहां नटखट कृष्ण गोपियों संग रास रचा रहे हैं और उन्हें दूर से खड़ी निहार रही है एक मीरा।इस गीत में आरती मुखर्जी की आवाज में एक अलौकिकता के साथ एक शिकायत, उलाहना और जलन का भी भाव आता है तो वहीं जब जसपाल की शीतल पवन सी आवाज आती है तो जैसे सारी जलन सारी तड़प पल में तिरोहित हो जाती है।
दरअसल जब दादू (रविन्द्र जैन) को बड़े गायक गायिकाओं की डेट्स नहीं मिलती थी, तो उन्होंने नए उभरते हुए गायकों के साथ एक छोटी सी दुनिया बसा ली, इस दुनिया में शास्त्रीय रागों की मिठास भी थी, शब्दों की काव्यात्मकता और देसी मिट्टी की महक भी। यहां जसपाल, हेमलता, आरती मुखर्जी के साथ साथ येसुदास भी थे।
इस दुनिया की संगीतमई धरोहर को रचने में ताराचंद बड़जात्या का भी अहम योगदान रहा, इनकी फिल्में देश के गांव दराजों की कहानियां कहती थी, जहां नायक होते थे सचिन। सचिन पर जसपाल की आवाज़ ऐसे ही थी जैसे राजकपूर पर मुकेश की। बचपन में इन फिल्मों को देखते हुए लगता था जैसे सचिन खुद इन गीतों को गा रहे हों।
दादू अब इस दुनिया में नहीं रहे, जसपाल और हेमलता दोनों ही कहीं गुमनाम सी जिंदगी जी रहे होंगे, क्यों इन्हें कोई रियलिटी शो तक में याद नहीं करता ?

पंकज उधास की एक दुर्लभ ग़ज़ल - एक श्रद्धांजलि
पंकज उधास का जाना उदास, बहुत उदास कर गया, गजलों का एक सुनहरा दौर था जब जगजीत चित्रा, पंकज साहब, चंदन दास जैसे दिग्गज फनकारों की धूम थी, सरहद पार से भी आती थी गुलाम अली, मेहदी हसन और नुसरत साहब की आवाजें। पंकज उधास की लगभग सभी एल्बमस थी मेरे कलेक्शन में जिसमें से "नबील" को तो सुन सुन कर घिस दिया था मैंने, दुबारा खरीदनी पड़ी।
कुछ सालों पहले जनाब Ajay Sahaab से मुलाकात हुई थी जिन्होंने पंकज साहब के साथ खूब काम किया है। उनकी एल्बम मदहोश से सुनिए एक दुर्लभ ग़ज़ल और इसके बनने की कहानी खुद अजय साहाब की जुबानी।

फिल्मी दुनिया में सबकी राहें आसान नहीं होती। इतना सुंदर गला और सधी हुई गायिकी के बावजूद Madhushree Bhattacharya के लिए पार्श्व गायक बनने का सफर बेहद मुश्किल रहा। पर सच्चा विजेता वही है जो राह के पत्थरों को भी फूल बना ले। मधुश्री के हिस्से बेशक गीत कम आए पर उनके गाए "तू बिन बुलाए", "नैना मिलाएके", " पल पल है भारी", "कान्हा सो जा जरा" जैसे जाने कितने ही गाने आज हम सबकी प्लेलिस्ट की हिस्सा हैं। इनके जीवन साथी Robby Badal भी न सिर्फ एक गुणी कलाकार हैं बल्कि बहुत ही सप्रोटिव और प्यारे इंसान हैं। उनसे मेरा पहला इंटरेक्शन बहुत ही दिलचस्प वाकिए से हुआ था, जिसका जिक्र फिर कभी।
फिलहाल आज बात मधुश्री के "नैना मिलायेके" गीत पर। रहमान के स्वरबद्ध और गुलजार के लिखे इस राग आधारित गीत में मधुश्री का साथ दिया है साधना सरगम ने। चूंकि दो बहनों पर ये गीत फिल्माया गया है, हो सकता है इसलिए रहमान ने मधुश्री का चुनाव किया क्योंकि उनकी और साधना की आवाज एक दूसरे को ब्यूटीफुली कॉम्प्लीमेंट करती सुनाई देती है इस गीत में। ये मधु का पहला गीत था रहमान के लिए। और ये ब्रेक उन्हें तब मिला जब वो बॉलीवुड से निराश होकर वापस सूरीनाम जाने का मन बना चुकी थी। इस गीत ने उनके कदमों को रोक लिए, जिसके बाद उन्होंने रहमान के साथ करीब 30 से अधिक सुपरहिट गीत गाए। लीजिए सुनिए खुद मधुश्री से इस गीत की रिकॉर्डिंग का अनुभव।

महबूब को फिल्मों में ब्रेक दिया राम गोपाल वर्मा ने रंगीला से, इसी दौरान मणी रत्नम बॉम्बे की तैयारी कर रहे थे। रामू ने मणी को मेहबूब का नाम सजेस्ट किया बॉम्बे के गीत लिखवाने के लिए। बॉम्बे में कुल 5 गाने थे और एक शानदार सदाबहार थीम म्यूजिक रहमान का रचा हुआ। गीत भी सब के सब एक से बढ़कर एक। फिल्म के एक गीत "कहना ही क्या" के लिए चुनी गई के एस चित्रा की आवाज।
चित्रा जी दक्षिण में ऑलरेडी एक स्थापित गायिका थी, जिनका कोई न कोई गीत लगभग हर दक्षिण भारतीय भाषाई फिल्मों का हिस्सा होना एक रवायत सी थी। कहना ही क्या के बाद तो बॉलिवुड में भी उनकी जादूई आवाज का जैसे जादू सा चल गया। इस आइकॉनिक गीत में रहमान ने इतने रंग भरे हैं कि जब भी सुनो कुछ नया अनसुना सुनने को मिल जाता है।

धर्मा प्रोडक्शन की एक फिल्म आयी थी बी ब्रह्मास्त्र, जिसमें एक गाना था केसरिया। इस गाने में एक शब्द आता है लव स्टोरियाँ, जिसे लेकर अमिताभ भट्टाचार्य को गरियाने लगे थे कई बुद्धिजीवी। अब करण जौहर भी हैं जिद्द के पक्के तो उन्होंने इसी शीर्षक से बना डाली एक पूरी सीरीज।
लव स्टोरियाँ एक एंथोलॉजी है ६ सच्ची कहानियों की। एक मलयाली बैचलर आदमी मिलता है एक तलाकशुदा पंजाबी लड़की से ब्लॉगिंग करते हुए, और कैसे दो पालतू कुत्ते इनकी बिखरी जिंदगी को जोड़ने की वजह बनते हैं ये है सार पहली प्रेम कहानी का। एक दूसरी कहानी में ढाका से कोलकाता माइग्रेट हुए एक हिंदू लड़के और मुस्लिम लड़की की प्रेम कहानी दिखाई गई है। छत्तीसगढ़ के नर्मदा बचाओ आंदोलन से जुड़ा एक बड़े परिवार के लड़के को कैसे उसी आंदोलन से जुड़ी एक छोटे जात की दबंग लड़की से प्यार हो जाता है।
हर कहानी में एक कॉन्फ्लिक्ट है कि कैसे प्रेम सामाजिक और राजनीतिक सीमाओं से उपर उठता है। जात पात धर्म कल्चर जैसी विषमताओं को पाटता है और कैसे दो प्रेमी तमाम मुश्किलों का सामना कर भी एक दूसरे की ढाल बन खड़े रहते हैं। एक कहानी दो मुल्कों की दूरियां। भी पार करती है,जहां दूसरा मुल्क तालिबानी हमले का शिकार अफगानिस्तान है।
मुझे सबसे ज्यादा जिन कहानियों ने छुआ उनमें से एक है एक ट्रांस वूमेन और एक ट्रांस मैन की बहुत ही दिलचस्प कहानी। दो गलत जिस्मों में कैद लोग कैसे न सिर्फ खुद को बल्कि एक दूसरे को भी पा लेते हैं देखना दिलचस्प है। मेरे लिए इस एंथोलोजी की बेस्ट स्टोरी है लव ऑन एयर। ये प्रेम कहानी अद्भुत है। दो राइवल रेडियो स्टेशन के एंकर एक होते हैं एक कॉमन लिसनर की बदौलत, जो ब्लाइंड है। मीनाक्षी सुंदरेश्वर ने इसे बखूबी साकार किया है। प्रेम पर विश्वास कीजिए और प्रेम करते रहिए।
सप्ता सागरादाचे एलो साइड A और साइड B, जी हां ये लव स्टोरी दो हिस्सों में आपके सामने आती है। यूं तो हर भारतीय फिल्म में एक प्रेम कहानी संलग्न होती है, पर कुछ फिल्में ऐसी होती है जो देखने वालों को प्रेम के समुंदर में उतार ही देती है। समुंदर इस फिल्म का एक अहम घटक है और शंख भी।
कहते हैं शंख को कानों से लगाओ तो समुंदर के लहरों की आवाज सुनाई देती है। जैसे एक छोटे से शंख में पूरा अनंत अथाह समुंदर समा गया हो। ठीक ऐसे ही जब मनुष्य के नन्हे से दिल में प्रेम का अथाह अनंत समुंदर समा जाता है तब जन्म लेती हैं ऐसी प्रेम कहानियां।
नायिका को समुंदर पसंद है और नायक नायिका के लिए एक घर बनाना चाहता है जो समुंदर किनारे हो। फिल्म का पहला हिस्सा आपको नायिका की प्यार भरी आंखों में डूबायेगा तो दूसरा हिस्सा नायक के दिल में नायिका के लिए बसे गहरे प्यार से परिचय कराएगा। जहां पहले में नायिका सलाखों के पार से नायक को देखती है, साइड B में नायक एक खिड़की की जाली से नायिका को देखता है। दोनों एक दूजे को मुक्त देखना चाहते हैं। एक दूसरे का दर्द पी जाना चाहते हैं। जिस्मानी रूप से दूर होकर भी कभी एक न हो पाएंगे ये जानकर भी उनके दिल जैसे एक दूसरे के लिए ही धड़कते हैं।
रक्षित शेट्टी और रुक्मणि वसंत का अभिनय जैसे अभिनय लगता ही नहीं। दोनों के साथ वाले दृश्य कम ही हैं पर फिर भी इनकी केमिस्ट्री आप शिद्दत से फील करते हैं। साइड B में चैत्रा अचर का किरदार इंट्रोड्यूस होता है और इस किरदार के माध्यम से निर्देशक ने बहुत कुछ कहा है। सच फिल्म खत्म होने के बाद भी ऐसा लगता है जैसे ये प्रेम कहानी कभी खत्म नहीं होनी चाहिए थी।

डायो एक टैक्सी ड्राइवर है, जिसका जीवन पूरी तरह खाली हो चुका है। अपने पैसेंजर्स की बातों में ही वो अपने खालीपन से और अपने अतीत के भयावह पंजों से थोड़ा सा कहीं छूट पाता है और अपने नीरस जीवन कहीं कुछ रंग ढूंढ पाता है। एक दिन एक कपल अपनी बेटी के साथ उसकी गाड़ी में बैठता है। इस बच्ची में उसे अपनी मरी हुई बेटी की झलक दिखती है। दोनों पति पत्नी पूरे सफर में लड़ते उलझते रहते हैं और उनकी बच्ची की उदास चुप्पी को डायो रियर व्यू मिरर से अनुभव करता है। बच्ची भी कहीं न कहीं डायो की खाली रिक्त आंखों से कोई कनेक्ट फील करती है। गंतव्य पर पहुंचने के बाद पति पत्नी उतरते हैं और घर के दरवाजे की तरफ बढ़ते हैं और एक बार फिर चाबियों के लिए लड़ पड़ते हैं। बच्ची कार में ही बैठी रहती है जिसको लेकर ये दोनों लीस्ट कंसर्न दिखते है। डायो बच्ची के लिए कार डोर खोलता है। एक बार फिर डायो और बच्ची की नजरें मिलती है, आपस में बात करती है। बच्ची कार से निकल कर डायो के पास से गुजरती है मगर थोड़ा आगे जाने के बाद बच्ची अचानक पलटती है और डायो का पीछे से आकर हग करती है, बच्ची के इस स्पर्श से डायो का सारा दर्द सारा गुबार जैसे एक पल में पिघल जाता है और वो वहीं सड़क पर फूट फूट कर रोने लगता है। दो अजनबियों का दर्द बिना एक भी शब्द बोले एक दूसरे को संप्रेषित होता है और दिल में जमा सारा दर्द, अतीत की सारी पीड़ाएं जैसे आंसुओं में बह जाती है। कितना मर्मस्पर्शी है ये दृश्य । माफ कीजिए थोड़े से स्पाइलर्स के लिए पर खुद को आज रोक नहीं पाया। द आफ्टर एक नेटफ्लिक्स शॉर्ट फिल्म है जो इस बार ऑस्कर के लिए नामांकित है। मात्र 16 मिनट की ये फिल्म आपको किसी भी कीमत पर मिस नहीं करनी है। डायो की भूमिका में David Oyelowo शानदार हैं।
