Today in the FAMcast we’re starting off December with our first of 3 Nights of Christmas @ CSM!
This will be our only FAMcast for the month because the rest of the month at CSM, we’ll be doing more festive things on Sunday nights! On this episode, we’re talking about how GOD uses insignificant things and people to do SIGNIFICANT things… We’re looking at the Christmas story, where we find 3 of those examples… Okay! What’s up, FAM!? Today in the FAMcast we’re kicking off a new little mini-series called “GREAT-FALL”.
Halloween is over, November is here, and that means that everyone’s minds are turned towards…. THANKSGIVING! (Cuz Thanksgiving is before Christmas and you can’t skip it because that’s craziness, and… well you get it).
Giving thanks is such an important part of our life. Being GRATEFUL can determine the kind of life that we experience.
Today we have a treat for you, Pastor Ashlee, Outreach Pastor at Crossroads, is kicking off this series talking about how important this SEASON is we find ourselves in. So grab your notebooks, cause this is gonna be good!
Today in the FAMcast it’s the last episode in our YOU ASKED ABOUT IT series… and our panelists are answering questions about Mental Health.
Our panel for this conversation is much smaller but it’s still crammed full of good stuff! The panel included High School Senior, Chloe Vance. Our FAM Coordinator & professional behavioral specialist, Jill Schafhauser, and myself! We do have some fun but there are several serious moments, where we talk about the effects of divorce on students mental health, parent-student relationships, and also, just to be advised, we do spend a little time talking about what to do when you’re dealing with suicidal ideations.
Because of the nature of our conversation we want you to feel resourced and feel like you have steps to take if you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, or any other mental health issues. One resource we have to offer those who attend Crossroads (yes, even if you just attend CSM) is our partnership with Care to Change counseling to offer 6 free counseling sessions. Care to Change is a counseling center with a biblical worldview so you or your parents can rest assured that the advice & counsel they give if firmly rooted in God’s word. We first did this series at the beginning of '22 and it was a HIT! You picked the topics, you asked the questions, and our panel answers the questions.
This episode, we're answering all your questions about healthy friendships, unhealthy friendships, what's a cliques, and how you talk to your friendship about Jesus.
"Be the Change you want to see in the World" it's a quote that no one seems to know where it came from but it's packed full of truth. As Christ followers, when we see things that we know aren't good, we're called to be people of action.
One of the biggest lies that keep us from stepping into action is that we don't have much to offer. That couldn't be further from the truth. We CAN use what God has given to us to CHANGE the World.

As we were thinking about this little series, the thought was if we only had two wks to talk through the two most important things to the FAM as we get started in 2023, what would they be. I knew one needed to be our 3 reasons, bc what’s the point of having them if we don’t talk about them?! The other week was a little bit like “What is it that we, as the FAM, struggle with the most that if we started the year talking about might set the stage to be the most impactful in our lives.”
In this episode, we’re gonna end our two part series talking about something that really is not just important to the FAM, but honestly is something that if you can master now, you’ll be miles ahead of the game as you walk through life. It’s, in my opinion, one of the most COUNTER-CULTURE things we could talk about out and live out. What would our FAM look like OR what would YOUR life look like if you were committed to putting your FAITH over your FEELINGS?
Sometimes it’s important for families to get together so we can get on the same page… Understanding each other better, understanding what the common goal is, and realizing the possibilities if everyone commits to those goals and each other. We really believe that the purpose of Family Meetings are to bring Clarity to the family. They’re aren’t always bad, but they should always have a purpose.
We thought there wasn’t any better way to start 2023 by have a couple FAMily meetings to begin with. Spending time with the FAM to focus in on what is clearly & crazy import. So over the next couple episodes that’s what we’ll do… Today, we’re gonna talk specifically about what we call our 3 Reasons. They’re our filter for everything we do here. We do things that will help us accomplish these 3 things. 1. Point Students To Jesus. 2. Be the FAM that Everyone Needs. 3. Be the FRIENDLIEST Place in Town.
