On todays episode Jess discusses how in a world of things we can't control we can take control of our life and reduce unneeded stress.

Controlling things we can is the key to living a great life. There are things in life we just can't have a say in. That's life, the good and the bad.

Jess talks about some controllables she has found to make a big difference in her life and that she believes can help in all our lives.

CONTROLLABLES-

  1. WHAT WE EAT & DRINK
  2. WHAT WE DO TO EXERCISE & MOVE OUR BODIES
  3. WHO WE HAVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH. BE A GOOD HUMAN
  4. WHAT WE PUT IN OUT MINDS
  5. HOW MUCH WE ARE OUTSIDE
  6. HOW HARD WE WORK

These are things we constantly can be adjusting and improving. It isn't a one and done.

Jess is working on these every day. Failing, and getting back up to try again.

Right a long side you all. We got this.

Buckle up, on this episode Jess talks about some pretty controversial topics right now as she covers being a parent and a woman in today's society.

Jess talks about the power we have as women and as men, about how we need to use that power to raise great, confident children. Be the example.

She discusses some of the things children are facing right now, and a few ways she believes we can help them battle them.

Raising children and building a strong family is more important that we can even imagine. It isn't an easy task sometimes, but so worth it.

Standing up for what we believe and not sitting idly by while the world is trying to make us believe we are not capable, that we don't have an identity.

We are stronger than we could ever imagine, so are our children. Jess talks about harnessing that power and being an incredible light and example.

Let's raise an incredible generation! Let's raise confident, hard working warriors!

On today’s episode Jess talks about influence. Who are we being influenced by? Who are our children being influenced by?

Jess talks about the importance of making sure those influences are positive ones. Making sure we are putting good people in our circles in person and on social media platforms.

She discusses allowing and encouraging our kids and ourselves to reach out closer to people in our daily lives that are a positive influence. There are so many great people in the world, but it gets easy to get wrapped up on social media and having our kids online more.

She encourages us to take a more active approach to seeing who our kids are being influenced by. As well as to take inventory of who is “influencing” us.

On today’s episode Jess talks about being a working mom. It has its ups and downs. There are so many things that go along with being a working mom, some really incredible, and some are really hard.

Being a working mom can bring guilt, exhaustion and stress. It is also so rewarding in so many ways.  Jess shares some ways she has made being a working mom easier and less stressful. Ways she has relieved some of that “mom guilt”.  There is no “perfect way”, there is no “one size fits all” for being a working mom. But, a lot of us struggle with the same things, so Jess talks about things that help her out.

To all you parents out there we all feel like a hot mess somedays you aren’t alone.

To you single parents, "I didn't mention much in the podcast because I can't relate personally. But, I have so much respect for you. Being a parent is hard enough, doing it alone would be incredibly hard and have different challenges. Just know you are seen. You aren't alone even though it may feel that way at times. I see you. I respect the hell out of you!"

Some of the things Jess has implemented into her life have seemed counter productive at times, but have made such a big difference.

You can be a great mom and a badass at work as well!

Exciting announcement during the podcast as well! So stoked!!

On today’s episode Jess talks about her health and weightless journey. She discusses healing her hormones and going back to basics with fitness & health. She has had some humbling experiences lately around this.

She talks about doing things for the right reasons. About telling our ego to take a seat and learn from other people & make a better plan that will work better for you.

Being vulnerable and open about things isn’t always easy, especially with social media and the highlight reels of everyone. Jess wants to be open and honest about what is going on in her life because it is always nice to realize you aren’t alone. If you are going through something similar just know you aren’t alone. If its fitness as well or in any other aspects in life.

Being open to other options or other plans isn't always easy, but it beats working a bad plan every time!! Be open to change, to trying something else if your plan isn't working.

On today’s episode Jess goes over some realizations and lessons she learned in 2022.

It's easy to look forward to new goals, aspirations and things to do in the future. But, how often do we really look behind us and really think about the lessons we learned and implement them into the future? That is something she is working on doing better.

  1. Being outdoors every single day is necessary. More than she even thought.
  2. Goals, even massive ones are possible. It’s easy to set small goals that don’t intimate you, set the big ones, they are possible! Use a vision board to help you see those aspirations daily! She shares a vision board hack she uses.
  3. The life I want, the person I want to become is on the other side of doing all the things I don’t want to do. Getting uncomfortable, things that push us.
  4. Action>Avoiding & Action>Overthinking
  5. Not everyone is going to like you. That’s okay! That’s normal!

****Correction: when listening I realized I used the phrase from Andy Frisella wrong - it is Aggressive Patience instead of Active Patience. Both work, but wanted to clarify. When I heard it I knew immediately and wanted to clarify.

I am here to tell you that it's okay to be tired, stressed and at times even sad or mad. That is life. That is being human.

Being human means feeling these emotions throughout life.

Sit in those emotions, figure out how it can teach you, and then stand up and keep moving forward.

If you feel overwhelmed at times though, you aren't alone. We all feel it from time to time.

Keep smiling, keep moving forward, you got this!

Check in on those people around you, make sure they know you love them and are there for them.

On todays episode Jess talks about being "busy".

It gets a lot of shade thrown on the term. So she really took a look at it and what it meant.

She redefined that word in her life.

Through realizing what she wanted her life to look like and how she wanted to spend her time.

Busy has a different meaning now to her and life has changed drastically for the better.

This time of year especially we can easily get caught up in the hustle and the expectations.

Spend your time "busy" doing things that get you where you want in life. Making the memories you want to make. Invest your time doing things that matter.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! I hope these next few weeks are spent with those you love and really cherishing the true meaning of Christmas. - Jess Kissling
