This ought not to be because gathering together as we see the day approaching is not a suggestion from Paul. Taking communion in memory of Him until He returns is a crucial practice as well. This teaching continues today across the church spectrum. Why is there so much confusion about who is who, when the epistles clearly address these things head on? But with the HRM, there is even more confusion regarding the Mosaic Law, the feasts of Israel, who is a Jew, and what is Israel. Especially concerning are the moral compromises that blind the heart and mind of the one who disregards God’s warnings when we trespass His protective boundaries. Holly Pivec is an evangelical researcher of cults, sects, and new religious groups, such as the “New Apostolic Reformation” (NAR) movement. She has a master’s degree in Christian apologetics from Biola University in Southern California, where she attended and also worked. Holly and her family live in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Doug Geivett is a husband, father to two grown children, professor, author, and speaker. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy from USC and teaches at Biola University and Talbot School of Theology. Doug has written or edited several books and spoken on issues related to the New Apostolic Reformation, Christian apologetics, and the Christian life to audiences all over the world.
Is there a new reformation happening in the church? It depends on who you ask. The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is a popular and fast-growing new movement of Christians who emphasize signs and wonders, and teach that God is giving new revelation through new apostles and prophets. Destructive doctrines by depraved teachers will have eternal consequences. Mankind is prone to being deceived ever since the fall, but how can the average believer guard their hearts with all diligence when there are so many doctrines – some demonic – vying for our attention? Are some just ignoring that still, small voice? Are believers too trusting of anyone who calls themselves a pastor? All this and more with JB to continue to equip the church for dark days. In today’s installment of breaking news, Mary looks at the increasing chaos of the current world order, as we go from the kingdom of man to the Kingdom of Jesus, in which righteousness will dwell. We should expect turbulence. But how much? When an airplane full of people experiences unusually strong turbulence, the panic, screaming and terror is heartbreaking because they do not know what is going to happen next. In the same way, no one knows what will happen next in the world, but Jesus, the I AM, tells his disciples in Matthew 14 to “fear not”. AND “be of good cheer”. So here we are church, armed with hope and brimming with good cheer, right? Yes, watching the epic fail of the West is very difficult, but the nations raging and the sea tossing is something we should expect. We will look at the Middle East as it reaches a point of no return; the looming dockworkers strike next week, and find out from Scripture what this distress and perplexity really means. An hour of hope. And good cheer. Maranatha.

The accepted description of it is, “If The Chosen and The Office had an offspring, it would be “The Promised Land”, and indeed that is the precise description that might set our teeth on edge before we even watch it. Episode 1 dropped a month ago and already it is very popular. Of course it is, The Chosen name brand has a built in audience. Is it biblical? Reverent? No. Entertaining, yes – but what is the place for that when it comes to people who actually lived and whom God used to bring about His will? Finally, we look at the Catholic prayer app, “Hallow”. Mary chats with apologist and author Chris Lawson of the Spiritual Research Network to discuss occult practices and beliefs that cross into a last days form of revivalism. When we think of “revival”, the average Christian is imagining tent meetings, gospel messages, repentance, altar calls, and changed lives. A good and positive thing. That is no longer the only view of revivals, and due to the influence of the NAR and Bethel’s School of the Supernatural, more and more calls for revival include a completely different definition, including many occult practices and manifestations. Testing the spirits in this area is more and more critical because experiential Christianity has overtaken many churches, the result of not enduring sound doctrine. In the 2nd half of the program, we delve into the rise of necromancy, or talking to the dead, in the churches, another offshoot of an occultic type of Christianity. It’s difficult to understand the juxtaposition of “occult” and “Christianity” and saying it outloud, but it is a subject that needs to be explored.

We welcome back Russ Miller today and discuss the delusional aspect of our times on the subject of false Christs, one of the more sobering warnings in the New Testament. The bible tells us clearly who the Messiah is in detail. Jesus Himself walked the earth to witness to His people Israel and prophesy about His upcoming death and resurrection. When you add in the witness of the Apostles and particularly Peter and Paul throughout their epistle, there is ample opportunity to “flesh out” in our minds and hearts Who this Jesus is Who became sin for us. And yet, with the plethora of written testimony, people still get the wrong Jesus – a “false Christ” – and his followers are false Christians led on by false prophets. Why would anyone choose to believe in a false Christ? According to 2 Corinthians 11:3, our minds can readily be corrupted by our enemy, due to the fall – and we can start to be corrupted ourselves and believe lies. Not only must we test every spirit, but test ourselves, to see if we are in the faith. (1 Corinthians 13:5).

We also look at a recent statement by the National Evangelical Association supporting the LGBTQ movement in its special rights under the guise of “equality.”
In our first segment, we talk with Art Ally of The Timothy Plan to discuss biblical generosity and how the money Christians invest in corporations and stocks is being used to either glorify God or support those who oppose biblical Christian values.

As reported by World magazine, “(CCCU and NAE) have formally endorsed principles that would add sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) to federal nondiscrimination law.” The U.S. Pastor Council, a growing inter-racial, inter-denominational network of local Pastor Councils that was founded and grew from the flagship Houston Area Pastor Council (the team that led the defeat of lesbian former Mayor Annise Parker’s pro-LGBTQ “Equal Rights Ordinance” in 2015) is calling out the NAE and CCCU for this indefensible act of yielding moral truth for perceived temporary protections.

Mason’s View: There is no exclusivity in Jesus Christ or the Triune God who is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; therefore there is no doctrine of the deity of Jesus Christ. It is deemed to be un-Masonic to invoke the name of Jesus when praying, or mention His name in the Lodge. Suggesting that Jesus is the only way to God contradicts the principle of tolerance. The name of Jesus has been omitted from biblical verses that are used in Masonic rituals. Jesus, to them, is on the same level as other religious leaders.

What used to be on the fringes of the church is now mainstream, and many are being influenced by it unaware. This book is a wake-up call.
Holly Pivec is an evangelical researcher of cults, sects, and new religious groups, such as the “New Apostolic Reformation” (NAR) movement. She has a master’s degree in Christian apologetics from Biola University in Southern California, where she attended and also worked. Holly and her family live in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Doug Geivett is a husband, father to two grown children, professor, author, and speaker. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy from USC and teaches at Biola University and Talbot School of Theology. Doug has written or edited several books and spoken on issues related to the New Apostolic Reformation, Christian apologetics, and the Christian life to audiences all over the world.
Is there a new reformation happening in the church? It depends on who you ask. The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is a popular and fast-growing new movement of Christians who emphasize signs and wonders, and teach that God is giving new revelation through new apostles and prophets. But is this biblical Christianity?
In Counterfeit Kingdom, apologists and NAR experts Holly Pivec and Douglas Geivett show how the NAR’s key tenets distort the gospel, twist the Scriptures, are influenced by New Age practices, and lead faithful Christians to shipwreck their faith. In yet another violation of biblical principles, the progressive United Methodist Church (UMC) voted to make “Reverend” Cedrick Bridgeforth, an openly gay man, bishop at their official meeting last week. Of course, they did. But if church rules and Bible doctrines no longer matter, why have them?
Sadly, more churches seem to be minimizing or reinterpreting Scripture. These deceivers often emphasize (code words alert!) diversity, equity, inclusion, tolerance, and strive to be ‘welcoming.’ It’s true Jesus welcomed sinners, but He also told them to repent, obey His commandments, and to go and sin no more!
After being elected, Bridgeforth told those gathered at the Western Jurisdiction meeting that he was “grateful to God Almighty” and “to my husband, Christopher.” But wait a minute. The UMC Book of Discipline forbids ordaining ‘practicing homosexuals.’ But rules are meant to be broken, right? Not if Jesus is your final authority. He is the One who created mankind and all things. He ordained and defined (natural) marriage between one man and one woman (Mark 10:6-10).
The Book of Jude appeals to Christians to stand and fight against attacks on the faith. See if you notice any similarities to today’s church as Jude warned first century Christians saying:
For certain people have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into indecent behavior and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Jude 1:4
Deception, godlessness, and false teachers are nothing new.
Don’t miss the fact that a man in an open same-sex “marriage” was still elected to the office of bishop in the Methodist Church. Bridgeforth plans to “chart new ground.” He served as the California-Pacific Conference’s director of innovation and communication and received 73 votes out of 93 ballots cast. For those keeping score, that’s a majority.
It’s important to note that during the last decade, the splintered Methodist denomination finally split. Biblical Christians were tired of compromise, LGBTQ policies, women pastors, political correctness, and division over abortion and marriage. So after years of debate over holding the biblical line or accommodating sin, conservatives officially parted ways with the UMC and launched its Global Methodist Church.
Former UMC General Conference delegate, John Lomperis of the Institute on Religion & Democracy, said Bridgeforth’s promotion exhibits “further direct defiance of the UMC’s official rules, which is increasingly becoming normalized.” He adds:
“Bishops are entrusted with the sacred responsibility of upholding and enforcing our church’s doctrinal and moral standards. When the bishops are so openly breaking these standards, then this is a true ‘inmates running the asylum’ situation,”
According to the Christian Post, Loperis remarked about a female bishop also elected by the UMC, that she even refused to say if she believes in the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ. Apparently [she] does not believe in “basic biblical doctrine about His incarnation.” This is stunning.
Plenty of people mention God or even claim to believe in Him, but does your faith translate over into your life? Where’s the fruit? Do you obey the commandments? Anyone can say they are Christian and millions do, but it’s apparent they do not really follow Jesus and live out their faith according to the Bible. They are man-pleasers rather than God-pleasers (Gal. 1:10).
I think we know the sobering answers to these questions. It is reflected in the moral rot and decay of culture and the infestation of social justice and liberal ideologies into American churches.
It’s important to understand the historical decline. In 2016, the United Methodist Church (Western Jurisdiction) appointed the first openly lesbian bishop, and the election was unanimous! Karen Oliveto’s ordination was later deemed invalid by the Church’s Judicial Council a year later, but that didn’t matter; she remains in her position to this day.
The day before the 2016 UMC convention in Oregon, the “Reverend” Laura Young, a 48-year-old Methodist pastor in Ohio joined over a hundred United Methodist Church clergy members who came out as gay, lesbian or bisexual. Young stated at the time:
“I feel lighter already. I can be a better pastor and a better person when I can be my full self, living in the light and with integrity.”
In 2019, the UMC voted – by a slim margin – to uphold the church’s bans on ordaining LGBTQ clergy and performing same-sex weddings. However, that vote was disregarded by many progressive leaders within the UMC who rebelled and continued to commission openly gay clergy as well as officiate same-sex weddings.
The Bible warns us not to align with them and also says God will not be mocked. He never changes and neither does His Word which teaches you will reap what you sow, either sin and corruption or righteousness and everlasting life (Isaiah 40:8, Gal. 6:7-8).
Churches have been divided on politics for over a century, but the greater issue is division over clear, biblical, foundational doctrines and teachings. By the way, the (formerly) United Methodist Church is the third-largest Protestant denomination in the USA. Don’t think this couldn’t happen at your church.
The Apostle Paul said the Holy Spirit lives in believers and we are temples of the living God. He writes:
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? …Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” 2 Corinthians 6:14, 17
How about you or your church? Do you have a decision to make?
For those in seeker-sensitive “churches” who no longer adhere to or believe what the Bible teaches, it doesn’t matter what they say. Christ the King will return as promised, sin will be judged, and righteousness, holiness, grace and truth will prevail.

In what we call the Great Commission, Jesus commanded His followers to make disciples and teach them everything He commanded. Doctrine ('doctrina,' Lat.) simply means "teaching." In Acts chapter 2, the foundation of the early church was the teaching of those apostles. Without a solid foundation of accurate biblical doctrine, a church becomes nothing more than a social club.
But doctrine has almost become a bad word in a growing number of churches, as if doctrine is automatically "divisive" and "unloving." Islam is a false religion of very strict laws and teachings. Adulterers and homosexuals are punished severely and women are treated as second class citizens or at times, treated as property. The Bible is clear that there will be many false teachers leading people astray in the final years, and many professing Christians will be part of this final apostasy.
