Can we even call these writings a "manifesto?" In March of this year, a 28-year-old woman shot up the Covenant School in Nashville, TN. The shooting left three adults and three elementary school children dead. Tennesseans have been calling for the release of the shooter's writings or "manifesto" since the event occurred. This week, conservative commentator out of Texas, Steven Crowder, leaked three very hard to stomach pages of the shooter's writings. The news media is in a frenzy once again. Let's talk about it.

In April, pop singer/songwriter Meghan Trainor got some flack for talking negatively about public school teachers. During Summer of 2022 Hillsdale College of Michigan's President, Larry Arnn, also made some controversial statements about public school teachers and college education departments, and has been ridiculed for it ever since. A teenage girl who isn't deaf and isn't fluent in American Sign Language or ASL has apparently taken it upon herself to teach various ASL signs to her quite large social media following, and the "online deaf community" is making arguments vaguely similar to those made for cultural appropriation and reparations.
Just last month, students graduating from New College of Florida in Sarasota held an alternative commencement because the official commencement speaker, Dr. Scott Atlas, a part of former President Donald Trump's Covid response team, was too 'Trumpy'.
