I really enjoyed reading Boyfriend in Heat. It a fun Smutting read that doesn’t take it self too seriously. The artwork is amazing. There a lot of good humour and comedy. I feel good after reading this manga, it took my mind off thing.
I bought this manga awhile ago on Amazon, via Amazon.com US store. This manga wasn’t available on UK Amazon store. It was very straightforward and arrived within a week. It was only recently that I decided to read it. And I’m very glad I read it again. I forgot how super fun reading Sakira work are.

Heavily BDSM-themed story. Mibu and Sakurada explore the extreme kinky play together. Mibu wants to take revenge on Sakuada for weakening his kinky side. I felt the story needed more direction. The story is a mixture of erotica and comedy, which didn't craft well in my opinion. This felt like an average story. Some may enjoy it, some may not depending on the reader.
This Manga is available in most bookstores and on Amazon.
Three kids explore a mysterious and enchanted flooded city. The illustrations are cute and charming. If feel like you entered into a mysterious adventure. The story is short, there are three volumes of this doujishi. This doujishi is for all ages. This series is highly recommended to read.

The theme, drawing and artwork appealed to me, especially the cover artwork. I thought it would be an extremely kinky story, judging from the cover artwork. But after reading it. It was very wholesome! You be surprised it is a loving story between Kanata and Rui. and the relationship is wholesome throughout. I am looking forward to reading more of Mappadaka Goutarou’s works.

Mira creates great Yuri stories. There is a lot of Mira dojinshi which I have yet to buy and read. This doujinshi is fun, romantic story of two office ladies getting it. Lots of nipple play. The drawing style has a charm and both Aoi and Maika are cute together.

A fun story, an RPG fan sty style romance between two guys adapted into a new world. I enjoyed reading Sola Doujinshi's titles such as Love Lesson and Love Destiny. The drawing is great, and the character has great chemistry.

The story got more wilder. This is the second volume of My Father In Law has more bedrooms and action scenes and get to see more of Keiji dark personality. Keiji has abandoned issues. In the first two pages, the daughter is fed up with Keiji calling her too many times. And think his behaviour is unacceptable. Then Chiyo tells her father she is going away for a trip with her friends. Chiyo mentioned Keiji and why has her father been avoiding him.

I thought about publishing more of my comics online. I wanted a platform where I can regularly share my comic. I was curious to learn how to create a webcomic. I just want to tell a story and share it. To tell a story very visually. Webcomics are formate vertically. Like a scroll. So I had to learn to format my comic in a vertical layout. I uploaded my first comic on WEBTOONS.

This is the second squeal (second volume) to Passionate Teacher. Based on the volleyball group. Mr. Suzuki (the main character) is a particular interesting in one of the volleyball player student. The scene is set in the school gym hall. Where the volleyball team are practicing a match. Mr. Suzuki is there to give encouragement and support. I discovered this manga online on social media. The story and artwork very much appealed to me. I love reading vampire romance story especially in BL. It one of my top genre I would read. Platinum Blood is an interesting BL Vampire story. I was surprised that it has already Ben translated and is available on Futekiya. TOKYOPOP is publishing the manga in English and it is now available to buy per order. The manga will be released on 25th April 2023.
I bought the manga last year around spring. (The Japanese Print) I was very interested in reading Platinum Blood. I thought it would be a really cool BL Vampire Story. The drawing is great. I bought this doujishi during the Black Friday Deal last year. Passionate Teacher has everything I like! loads athletic hot boys. It is a fun read. The drawings are very well drawn. It is how The anime Free should have been. Mr Suzuki is proud of his students and he supports and encourages them to be their best. But little did he know that all his pupils have a crush on him. they all share a piece of him.
The sexy action scene are hot! a visual treat to the eyes. The downstairs department is drawn perfectly. it was a real feast! it feels like you can’t get enough, i want more and you want the fun to continue. All the boys are handsome and fit. As I said it has everything I like in this story.
It is an employable read if you like group sex, and athletic men then I highly Passionate Teacher.

BL theme, I bought this doujinshi on the Black Friday Sale, This was the most expensive Doujinshi ($15, But I got it for $11.17 30% off in the Sale), but I heard it was really good and I like the idea VRChat.how people make friend, date and role-play in VR I was interested in reading this doujinshi because it focuses on VR dating and it is relatable to how people meet up in VR. This Doujinshi was a very fun read and highly recommend it for anyone who likes slice-of-life and VR.

I was lucky to get killing Stalking secondhand for half the original price (£8), is in good condition. And it arrived very quickly. I did plan to buy it on Amazon at full price. But I saw one copy on the marketplace and I check who was selling it and it was World of Books. I often buy a lot of second-hand manga and books from World of Books. This Manhwa was originally published on Lezhin online. It become very popular and got an English publication. I flicked through and the next thing I was glued to reading it from cover to back. It is a wild, disturbing story. I did think it was engaging and gripping. After reading it I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It stays in my mind. I had a lot of questions about the character relationship and how will the plot twist will turn out.
As a thriller is very good. But not good as a BL story. It doesn’t fit as a BL, more like a thriller, hostage story. There are a lot of uncomfortable, disturbing scenes that will be distressing to some readers. Definitely not for everyone.

Another Manhwa manga I have on my bucket list to read. I was planning to read this on kindle but recently it was reduced from £6 to 0.89p. I bought it immediately for 0.89p. It is good because I want to read something different and a manhwa manga that will be interesting to talk about for this podcast.

I thought 'On or Off' is average in my personal opinion. I thought the artwork was flat. I was hoping to feel the chemistry between the characters. I felt story dragged on a bit too much without something interesting scenarios. I was a bit uncomfortable with Kang Daehyung sorta taking advantage of Ahn Yiyoung. He knows that Yiyoung is desperate to promote his game and he agrees to do anything.

Wolf and Master are so cute and sexy! I love the wholesome relationship between both characters. Great sexy action scenes! The artwork is really good. I love Michio Aikawa's wolf form. Highly recommended read.
New released this month November, I been wanted to read this doujinshi. I missed buying doujinshi and I’m waiting for more interesting titles to be realized. So far Irodori Sakura has some very good BL/Yuri titles that think everyone should check out.
It is a simple, love doves story between a werewolf and a human. I am interested in reading animal characteristics/ beastman in BL. I read some and they are very good. This doujinshi is a cozy, sexy read. That has a wholesome relationship. The bedroom scene is very sexy! Full display of the downstairs department, great detail on the sex action. If you are a that type of reader who enjoys full-on visual sex scenes then you won’t be disappointed with this story. You can feel the chemistry between both the character who enjoy each other company. It was very thought out. I hope there is more work from this artist.

I looked forward to reading this manga since it was announced by Futekiya it will license ShuCream BL titles. I enjoy reading office romance, men in suits, and highly kinky action. The romance between salarymen or businessmen are very sexy read. It is my third favorite sub-genre. It slightly reminds me of “It Starts from the Inside” by Atami Michinoku.
This manga is also available in other manga ebook stores. But is was great that it is now available on Futekiya, as I’m already subscribed to Futekiya.

I fancy reading another Yuri/GL story. This is another GL/Yuri light novel called I have been reading on Manga Planet. I did know what other manga to read and review for the next episode. I’m waiting for more interesting BL manga to be released in the coming months. I still subscribe to Manga Planet (the same company as Futekiya). I thought I read something different for a change. I like these Yuri light novels, they are easy to read and light-hearted, simple writing. I thought this light novel story was cute. Night school romance of two girls. Shiina was looking after a stray cat under the emergency stairway. Then she meets a nerdy, very shy girl Kamiya. Shiina is attracted to Kamiya and finds the hidden beauty in Kamiya. The relationship is sweet. I read two volumes of the novel, the chapter is short. Not much volume so it is very quick to read. I like the illustrations. It suits the characters well. I really like how cutely drawn Kamiya is.

I personally enjoyed it, it was artistically crafted. the colouring is beautifully done. it was the right pace. I like the fact it didn’t have much dialogue, it is more visually disruptive. Beautiful scenery. clever use of hue to convey the emotion of the scene. I highly recommend giving it a read.
I don’t read much Manhwa (Korean comics). I typically often read Japanese manga. but I do like some of the art stories and some stories look really good. i don’t read go on webcomic sites such as Tapas, Lezhin, Webtoons, Tappytoon.
A lot of my online friends do read welcomes and share Manhwa content pages on Twitter. I would like to read some good Manhwa in the future. i like some of the formats and some artist has some unique art styles.

I bought another doujinshi work from SOLA. I really enjoyed reading Love Lesson by Sola l Irodori Sakura Doujinshi l Episode 139. I bought it among the other doujinshi manga on Irodori Sakura website. The story is sweet and somewhat wholesome. Shin wants a real boyfriend. He doesn’t want to do one-night stands. He looking for someone to be his prince. Shin goes to the bar to complain about his frustration. The bar owner gets annoyed about his complaints. They set up to meet Mahiro, who delivers alcohol to the bar.

I had a copy of this manga before back in college. I was doing my foundation art & design course. In the art studio, there were piles of magazines, books you can use for mixed media. Among the pile were two June yaoi manga I found. One of them was this manga. I presumed the manga was either lost or abandoned. So I took it and keep it. The book was in poor condition, it didn’t have a jacket. I read it often as it was a few mangas I had at the time. I didn’t have much money to spend on manga. so my manga collection was very limited.
After I graduated from university. I decided to give it away to charity. I hardly read it. Recently I saw it for sale on eBay. I thought to myself I wanted to read it again. I haven’t read it properly as a teen so I thought I read it fresh as an adult, with a fresh perspective. So the copy I bought is in good condition and I got it for a decent price online.
The story is average, and confusing in some part. The whole story is just two rivals becoming lovers. The dialogue is moodily and overuses flowery language. The sub-characters are average, they have no significance nor anything interesting about them. I felt it missing something. It didn’t feel gritty like most vampire genres I am used to.

I absolutely enjoyed this story. The drawing is beautifully drawn. It is a well-crafted manga. I liked some of the pages, with no dialogue or gestures, just showing pure emotion of the character. It also has a sensual feel, a sensual love scene and I love how the character's eyes are drawn sensual. The Vampire And The Virgin Rose was a decent love story between a human student and a full-blood vampire. BL vampire story is a sub-genre I always would read.

It was a short and enjoyable read. I love the kinky theme. The story was both kinky and funny at the same time. The sexy action was great. The downstairs department was meaty. The angles are sexy, a pleasurable to look at. Lots of squirting of fluids action. The drawing is muscular, hunky characters. The downstairs department drawings are thick and meaty.
Really fun read. NAOP has become one of my personal favourite doujinshi artists.

The drawing style is nice and charming. I was attracted to the cover artwork, the cover artwork is suggestive. The story is sweet, just guys simply having sex for the first time. Great sexy bedroom action. the downstairs department display in full display. I personally enjoyed reading this doujinshi, I like straightforward, friends become lovers stories. And I enjoyed the erotic visual drawings. It is visually stimulating. Highly recommended.

I was very much interested to buy and read this artist's work. It looks like it would be a very smutty story. The cover art is cute and charming. I had a feeling it would be a fun read.
The storyline is sweet. Both Kou and Minoru have great chemistry. Loads of fun and great sexy action! the drawings display the full action well. Has great lewd composition, and the sexy angle was a pleasure to look at. The lewd facial expression captures the orgasm of both characters. The detail of the (private area) downstairs department is well drawn. I like the charming art style. This was the first of Sola’s works that I read and I really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to reading more of Sola’s works in the future. Highly recommend!

It has been a while since I did a review on Irodori doujinshi manga. I saw some new releases from new artists on Irodori Sakura twitter profile and I was very much interested in reading some of them. I was going to wait but I felt I wanted but I was in a mood to read smutty manga. Irodori comic has made a lot of updated and changed its website. They have created a separate page that stores different categories. Irodori Sakura has its own separate page that you can easily navigate and browse the BL/Yuri titles.
Camero practised summoning and wanted to rank up. He happens to summon an Incubus which is illegal to summon. But the incubus is not going away so easier. Alu kissed Camero. Camero got addicted to the pleasure.
This manga is so fun, and quick. The drawings are well drawn. I like the incubus character in BL, incubus are always sexy, and seductive.

This romance story is about trust. I thought the story was interesting, I did enjoy it. it was a quick read. I really like this illustration and the artist captures the character very well. the style feminine, romantic and emotional charge. the way the artist draws females characters like a doll with large eyelashes and plumped lips. The main male charter is drawn with a tall frame and strong jawline. it has a classic shojo-inspired drawing style.
I enjoyed reading this story and planned to review more of Harlequin comics in the future.

I was browsings through Manga Planet in search of new manga to read. the navigation is hard, There are no tags or search engines for filtering tags, and genres list.
so I look at the Manga Planet blog and click on their manga guide. I saw a few mangas that caught my interest. I check out this story, I thought it would be a manga but it was a light novel and I felt I was in the mood to read something different from what I typically read. it's a Yuri romance light novel. I haven't read much Yuri, I don’t know much about the genre nor what the best yuri to read. Manga Planet recommends it so I thought why not give this light novel a read.

After reading The Devotion Of Supect X [[The Devotion Of Suspect X By Keigo Higashino | Japanese literature | episode 131]]
I was interested in reading other Authors works. I enjoy reading crime novel, they are most engaging and you as the read also play the detective. I do like reading Japanese Crime literature beaches is fascinating for me to learn how Japanese write or deal with crime. Compare to western crime.
Newcomer is more low key, not much action but uncovering the secret arrow ding the death of a woman. Kanga question those who associated around the victim.
This is a famous Japanese novel and is highly recommended to read in Japanese literature. I watched and listened to a few book reviewers on Youtube and it did sound interesting. So I borrowed a copy from my local library.
I read the book within a day. It is short and easy to read. I was hooked from the start. The writing and story is unique. As a reader, you get to understand and empathise with Keiko (protagonist).
My interpretation of the story is that Keiko's safe place is the Convenient store. The Convenient store for her is a controlled environment, it gives her purpose and routine. She becomes institutionalised, she becomes part of the store. She has been pressured to follow Japanese society ideals by getting married and having children. But it didn’t feel suitable for her.

I have mentioned this manga before on a previous podcast. I’m a fan of Megan’s titles and bought a collection of the artist BL titles.
Original titles Hitori E Chi On-line: was released last year. I bought it soon when it was released. I love the drawing style. I like that all the main characters wear glasses, some with different frames. You can tell the artist is been authentic with their style of work and that is what I like about Megane. Most of the artist's work is fun, smutty/erotic and easy to read. I follow this artist on Pivix and on Twitter. Also, Megan does live streaming of her drawing. During the live stream, you can watch the artist in process and learn how the artist does her drawings.
I was very surprised to see this manga already translated and licensed on Renta, about a few months after it was released in Japan. I had plans to review this manga since then.
The story is cute and ultra smutty, I love it. There's great chemistry between the characters. Understanding the full context in English made it ten times better. I sorta understood some while reading it in Japanese.
The story is quick. I was surprised that they didn’t include the bonus comic page. On the print it had extra pages include the artist's notes.
Unique crime novel. I discovered this novel from watching YouTube videos on Japanese literature and this appeal to me as I like reading crime novels. That fact it Japanese literature and will have different storytelling.
I also for a long time had the idea of including novel reviews in my podcast but didn’t know which selection of novels to review or discuss.
The story is low-key, with not much action, just the detective going away asking questions and investigating. In the end section of the book, the situation becomes intended and a dramatic plot twist leaves the reader questioning and taken by surprise.

I was very interested in buying this manga as it is published by Kuma. Kuma does very high-quality prints and publishes some great titles.
I bought the manga on Amazon (i use Prime) for £8.99. it arrived on the next day. I could have bought the manga from another online book store, but ice I already have prime it was far more convenient and faster to buy it from Amazon.
My impression of the manga re is cute drawing. the drawings are very very drawn. I felt the character Kishi is been forced into the relationship. Kishi is a social awakard student. he has trouble socialising. Sudou love to tease Kishi by pulling small pranks on him. Sudou gets upset when Kishi starts to get friendly with other peers. I think Sodou is sadistic. so I don’t feel like this is a purely romantic relationship. however, it is not totally bad. just some parts are very questionable. so the reader may get annoyed with one of the parts in this manga.

Haji also did Love in limbo. (Love in limbo by Haji | Episode 24) I already did a podcast episode of this manga. It has been published in English by Sublime Manga. It's a fantasy/ romance story. And I have two vols of Love In Limbo.
I have been wanting to read this manga for a while. Then I discovered it was available on Book Walker. I bought a few mangas along with this manga and I plan to read and get a review. It appeals to me because it is a relationship between a Spider and a Priest. And I like the fantasy BL genre.
I say, I actually really enjoy it. It is a sweet story, a romantic story between and Buddhist priest and a spider (beastman). The spider is clinging to the priest and he is possessive but in a cute way and is sensitive. He wants to be with his priest for the rest of his life and wants him to be his husband. Sogen worries about his own life and sometimes finds the spider beast man annoying. But he slowly falls for him.
The bedroom scene is kinky. Sogen is the bottom and the spider is the top. I like the spider design, he looks really cool. I am not a fan of spiders in general, I have a phobia of spiders. I get frightened easily when I see a spider that is slightly bigger and beefy.
The drawing is well drawn.

I bought this manga a while ago. CDawg (Connor) has done a yaoi reading on this manga and it caught my interest. I thought it would be mysterious, sexy and dark. I like the drawings, the story is ok. I was expecting a more twists and an interesting plot. I felt it was a flat line, to be honest.
I started to take interest in reading Japanese literature. It started when I want to read a Haiku poem by Basho. I read a couple of penguin classics books on Japanese poetry, then I got some recommendations on Japanese authors:

I then was looking up some Japanese literature on YouTube. I watched some top recommendations on a few Japanese literature/ novels. There are a few recommendations I have taken interest in reading. I will try to borrow them from my local library.

I know Book Walker before but I didn’t buy anything until I saw this manga The Black Beast's Descent Into Love (The Black Beast's fall Into Love). I was surprised to see this manga already available to read and translate into English. I already have the print copy in Japanese.
I read the manga already, I understand a little ( as I studying Japanese as well) but it is great to get more in-depth detail of the whole story in English too. And I can recommend it to my listening.

I was browsing through some manga and this manga called Kasane caught my attention. I read the summary and was curious to read it. So I started to read the first chapter. And I was instantly hooked.

I have read Dick Fight island vol 1. it is such a fun read. the characters are great. the theme of the story is wild but it is good. I was looking forward to the 2 vol. it has been recently been released. In the USA it was released earlier than in the Uk Market. I got it from Amazon (i got Prime) the manga is full of testosterone, and the downstair department is shown all the time.
On my next reading list was Mask, I must have seen this manga before and I was curious to read it. I didn’t know much about the manga.
It's a police/ detective BL story. Of two characters Gene the police inspector and Glenn
It was not good, I felt the direction of the story was all over the place. There no panel break (clear transition to the next scene)
I felt it was going for shocking factors for eroticism. Which didn’t make sense/fit well for the story. (Or the plot was confusing for me)
Overall it is below average, not the worst I read. But I can tick that off the list. Although I might read some chapters again to really understand the contents of the story.

Last week I bought a yaoi bundle of manga from the Humble Bundle website. I downloaded most of the manga on my iPad and read them through an apple book reader.

I went for the whole 92 Yaoi manga which cost me £19.05 which is a fantastic price. I have so much manga to read over the next two months.
I was surprised to see one of Shiuko Kano's titles within the bundles. I like Skiuko Kano manga like Punch Up and Play Boy Blues. (I have already talked about these mangas on my earliest episodes)
This is one manga anthology, with different stories and characters. I did enjoy most of the stories. However, some were confusing to understand. A lot of them were just pure smut, with nothing much plot going on.
I personally like the drawing and how the artist draws the men. I feel with the manga I could read it again as a casual read. When I finished reading the manga, I read the artist's note and I discovered that it was that Escape was originally a BL PC Game, the artist noted, it was meant to be a little extreme version of Toki**ki Memorial. So I presume is meant to be a dating Sim game. (Very popular in Japan)
The game was released back in 2001 and Shiuko was working on the manga while doing the illustrations for the game.

I have read Haruka Minami's sweet sweet Taste and I thought the storyline wasn’t my taste. But somehow I thought to myself, I read another BL title from the same manga artist. I was curious to see what this story will be. To my surprise, it was actually good! The storyline is much better, it romantic, sweet, smutty and fun. It was engaging. I personally think this was the better work. I like the distinctive drawing style that the artist has. I’m glad I got to finish it before I do a podcast recording.

I have read a lot of manga on Futekiya recently and so I went on a search, clicked on high spice manga and searched for the manga that took my interest. This manga has an interesting relationship dynamic. how does the three feel for each other emotionally and the conflicted feeling? I read similar threesome stories before and not all of them were that good in my option.

If you like reading FANGS or contemporary vampire stories alike then this manga might interest you. the manga tells through different coupled and viewpoints. it does require understanding the world and the rules of that world. it took me a while but I still don’t understand the different races in this world and it little confusing.
At first, I thought this is gonna involve a load of confusing elements, like so many cast characters (i not a fan of loads of cast characters) but as I read it properly, it didn’t feel too bad and I started to like it. it was a good read, not what I expected, the relationship between the couples are sweet/romantic.
the drawings are good and there were sexy moments. I personally liked the cousin, I thought he was sexy, truly had the vampire spirit. and i was disappointed there wasn’t much appeared of him after chapter 2 (i think)

I have been interested to read this manga since it was announced and being licenced on Futekiya. It definitely an old school shounen Ai / boy love story. The style is classic shoujo drawing, with the Stylelied drawing. The male character with long chin feature and a long frame. This manga was published in 1994, so there might be outdated stuff or an outdated theme.
Its simple story, not too fussy. It actually was an engaging read. It’s very well written. The storyline was simple and good. The art style was as it time (classic Shoujo style) but it was visually enjoyable. A good balance of panel and use of pages suited the drawings. It is not technically a brilliant drawing, In fact the drawings are basic but it has its charms, it had character. It is authentic.
It's good that Futekiya has some older BL manga titles in the library. That can be discovered by new readers.

This manga reminded me of the older BL manga Shounen Ai manga. And most of the stories are very questionable. The style is of shoujo. The uke is very feminine drawn, passive, submissive and the seme is dominant and masculine. Classic explain are Junjo Romantica and Love Stage. The was a very fast pace. The characters just meet and they are already in bed. there was nothing much of a plot to the story.

I managed to finish reading MADK vol 2. I have reviewed the first volume and I was intrigued by the twisted storyline and bizarre world. It definitely a BL a manga that is controversial. I actually was hooked for the first volumes. I was dissipating what will happen next in volume two. With the relationship between Makoto and the demon.
On the second volume. It was mainly about the plot and mako wanted to get revenge on the duke demon. But at the same time, he wants to hug and be near him. The Duke J demon actually know that Makoto is plotting against him and he is just amused by him. Makoto what to find out the Duke J real name, the name holds significant effect. That can overpower demons. I was expecting to read or see more relationship dynamics between Mako And Duke J. But they hardly interact.

I finally decided to buy this manga. I saw it on Wordery. I bought it out of a whim. And I already bought a couple of manga so I thought way not. I just finished reading this manga. Recently I have been getting so many recommendations of manga haul/ manga collecting videos. I don’t normally watch them because I’m not really interested in anyone manga collection unless in related to BL. But I saw this particular video talking about five mistakes to avoid when buying manga. I watched it out of curiosity and it was actually interesting. It had given me the inspiration to talk about this topic for this podcast. I have talked with Tao about budgeting on episode 90.
It seems that collecting manga is much more than collecting than I thought. I mainly buy manga spontaneously. Don’t have a goal, I don’t record my spending nor list them on a spreadsheet.
Why does everyone go on about setting goals for buying manga? I just randomly buy and buy manga when the time is right. I do have a few pieces of advice I could give for beginners or those who want to find some good BL manga.
Un hauling - a term I never heard of but basic means to remove or pass on your manga by selling or donating them. Which I sort of doing some time when I have moved on for a manga and I want to get rid of the old and be in the new.
- Don’t get book drunk
- Don’t blind buy a series
- Not to buy too many series at once
- Not to follow the hype too much, or watch people like
- There is nothing wrong with having a Pacific collection. If you prefer BL manga that fine.
- Read the review! Get to know the manga beforehand before you invest it.
- Buying second hand, it great for finding manga for cheap or rare manga. It is also a positive way of recycling and not being wasteful.
Highly recommend reading manga online or buying manga digitally. Especially a series you want to get into but don’t have the space and want to invest too much into it.
Online library subscription-like Futekiya is a fantastic library site where you can read over 100 BL titles for a very small subscription fee per month. (Or any plan you choose for your budget)
It is good to have some print and some digital. Because there is a lot of manga you may not feel you want to own a physical copy but want to read it any so digital copy or digital library is the very best. Plus it is far cheaper and convenient.

I recently started to watch this anime, I just discovered on Funimation. It looks and sounds good. A classic shojo anime. It had everything I like and the artwork, drawing style is absolutely beautiful! the style is very much similar to my style of drawing. it naturally felt connected to it.
I can’t skip the intro music, I love it. It’s so good. Normally I would skip intro but this anime I don’t.
I like the relationship between Anthy and Utena, you know there is a special connection. it does feel like a yuir/GL. but I like the fact it is not conventional.
I wish I had watched Revolutionary Girl Utena when I was younger but I think I wouldn’t understand the whole theme deeply as a child. I can tell the anime is surreal, fairytale-like (perhaps inspired by European art)
Watching the Revolutionary Girl Utena feel very nostalgic, reminded me of much great anime I watched back in the 90s to early 20s. I felt the anime back then focused more on the plot and the character depth. It felt more high-quality animation because back then everything was hand-drawn. (Rarely used software)
The anime is available to watch on Amazon prime or Funimation. I’m currently watching on Prime. I will consider buying the blue Ray dvd this month (or soon before Christmas)
The anime was aired in spring 1997 (so i was 5 years old when this was released)

I only read two chapters of the manga, I was really waiting for the whole volume 1 to be completed so I can start reading. this is high school romance BL. it a popular series and everyone in the BL community was very hype about this manga being licensed and translated to English. Volume 1 and 2 will be available to read on Futekiya.
So far, I think the story is ok. I am curious to know what will have with the relationship between the main character. it seems to be a slow built up romance story. which will be a nice change and perhaps keep me engaged. I will complete reading this manga (Volume 1) soon and give my review of it in the future podcast episodes.
I am seriously considering continuing my subscription with Futekiya for another 6 months. i do regally read manga there and I get to read/discover new manga. Futekiya have really good BL titles in the library.

I have seen Vampire Portrait vol 1 & 2 around before. It's an old title. 2009 I think it was released. This manga is out of print but you can buy the ebook copy on kindle or the Juné main website. I was lucky to find this manga second hand.
This manga is an in-depth story. There action, conflict, Romance. It's not smutty or erotica. The manga is more focused on the horror elements. There are gory scenes that might be a bit much for some readers. If you are a fan of classic vampire anime/manga with guts and blood like Vampire Hunter D, Trinity Blood or Hellsing, then you definitely enjoy vampire Portraits. The cover art is very erotic but the content inside is not.
But it does have dark, heavy subjects especially when he explains his past. there is violence, which does warrant to be an 18. There are also have unpleased scenes of the vampire turning into more demonic features.
I’m glad I re-read Vampire Portrait. I felt I went through a journey of the two main characters trying to break the cures or suffering.

I have been reading Flower Dust on Futekiya. This is a police/ yakuza story. It is a raw, unsettling story. There are violences and rough sex scenes. The first two chapters is was very intrigued, I wanted to know what will happen.
I say the story is hard to understand. I don’t understand what is the undercover investigator position is.
Kajiro is a sinister/deadly character. He just posted ruthlessly kills people. He is a very messed up character. Since growing up most of his life in the gang has made him what he is.

This manga was released recently, and it sounds like an interesting story so I read it for a while. I like it. It's a slice of life, drama story. An editor who has a lot of workload, like to releases stress by hiring Male prostitutes for one nightstand.
The art style is nice. It was very sensual. I like the concept of delaying a kiss. I heard from watching a psychologist that if you kiss someone, you are emotion bound to them. So kissing is like an emotional seal.

I haven’t done a review on Irodori comic for a while. Too busy reading manga. What prompt me, was that Irodori has re-launch their website. Yumemiru Vampire is so good! Fantastic drawings. It is very whimsical, delicate. I love the relationship is very sweet. The vampire is elegant. He is also a Manga otaku, which is funny. Read manga in style. Absolutely loved reading Yumemiru Vampire, highly recommended. I hope this manga does get an English translation.

Every day, Mizuki takes the train to school. And every day, almost like clockwork, a certain man has his hands all over him. It's an unusual routine that he's almost getting used to, but what will he do when one day, the man promises him more? Is it really worth following him?
Very erotic, complex relationship story. I did find it an interesting read. There are some uncomfortable subjects matter in this story.

Over the last two weeks, I bought 5 more BL manga directly from Japan. I bought them from Amazon JP. The first order was good. It arrived in good condition it the second ordered, it came damaged. The packaging was not secured. The corners of the books got bent and tore. So I was pretty upset and wrote immediately to Amazon jp. They were very quick in response and issues me a full refund for the books. I felt better.
So I decided to keep them and stick to ordering from CD Japan, which is ten times better! Their packaging and service are of a high standard.
However, I don’t have any plans to buy more Japanese manga for a while. I have a good range of Japanese printed manga that I feel very satisfied with. I haven’t started reading them properly. I want to do that soon, so I can talk about them in my podcast.

Kisses, Macarons, and Lonely Pie by Kijima Hyougo is a very fun read. it is better than Kijima Hyougo other works ‘Wild Wild, Wildlife’ i bought it on Amazon Kindle. I did add it to my wish life but have forgotten about it till now. and I thought it will be a good manga to review.
You should listen to Episode 31 of my review of Wild Wild Wildlife.
The stories, in Kisses, Macarons, and Lonely Pie are fun and smutty. there was nothing that was problematic for me. the stories are lighthearted. the characters are sexy, entraining. I personally enjoyed it. highly receemooded.

I like Vampire, genre. I use to read lots of Vampire manga and novels. the combination of Bl and Vampire is my absolute favourite and a must-read for me. however, I am also critical when it comes to vampire genre. I grew up watching classic Vampire manga and was enthusiastic about Vampire dark, gothic stories. I remembered the first BL read was in my teens. I would regularly go to my local Waterstones bookshop after school to read books. Waterstone was introducing manga books in their stores.
TOKYOPOP was the main manga publisher at the time. The first manga I brought was DearS. (I still read that manga)
There were other manga books too. I picked up Junjo Romantica.
When I first read Junjo Romantica for the very first time, I was shocked by the graphics detail of the bedroom scene. I was taken aback by the rawness.The drawings were different, unique to other manga styles. I never knew this kind of manga existed in a book to buy. It was very entertaining to read. I blushed and squealed reading this manga.
Since then I been obsessed with reading BL mangas.

Kensuke is a happy go lucky guy but he was intimidated by his colleague, the handsome Matsui, who is more buff than him. He gets all the attention. They both don’t seem eye to eye. Then Kensuki and Matsui coincidently were alone, drinking and challenged each other to a bet. A bet is who can come first. Which is a dangerous bet! As one thing leads to another, as Kensuke and Matsui get hot and sexually physical. It is a very fun read and the drawing are great!

Embracing Love by Youka Nitta, English publication by Sublime Manga: Dulex Edition Double Volumes (link)
I heard Embracing Love by Youka Nitta, highly recommended by readers. I have read Spiritual Police and I wasn’t a fan of the storyline. But I wanted to read other manga by Yuoka Nitta. So Embracing Love caught my interest.
I say this manga is one of Youka Nitta best. The main characters Iwaki Kyousuke and Katou Yoji are attractive together. Full-on steamy bedroom scene. Youka Nitta has a really nice art style. The drawing is beautifully drawn. You be never disappointed with the love scenes, it’s extremely spicy.

I only gonna do one episode this week. Last week I was scheduled to come into the hospital to get my procedure done. I had an I used that was causing me severe back pains, occasional bleeding and feeling very uncomfortable. So I was referred to the hospital to get treatment. It was delayed because of the pandemic situation, so I just manage my symptoms until the day I got my procedure done. I need time to recover from surgery. I have been relaxing all week. Trying to get better.

I finally got MADK by Ryo Suzuri. I have been talking about it for a while. I pre-ordered it a while back since February but the released date has been moved to a later date. So I had to cancel it. It was only recently that this manga was available to buy, book Depository and another online book store now has available to buy. But Amazon is hasn’t released it yet.
I read MADK immediately when it arrived. I got to say it really unique, surreal, interesting, and messed up the story I have ever read! I knew it would be a dark theme. But boi, I wasn’t expecting to be this twisted!

I thought this manga was going to be a little cute story between a femboy maid and his master. But damn! It way smutty. The maid is so cute! Also, the drawing is very well drawn and cute style. It's a bit sketchy on the bedroom, it on the dub con or Nono consent. But not uncomfortable read. I personally enjoy reading it, it smutty and cute and very naughty. Reading this manga is like a guilty pleasure.
I’m back resuming my weekly podcasting. I’ve taken a week break. Also, I hope everyone had a lovely Easter Holiday.
I took the opportunity to catch up on reading mangas. I actually realised how much manga I have physical. It a lot. It was good to slow down my book spending and instead spend quality time reading and appreciating what I have. In the last episode, I mentioned that Futekiya has announced they are going to Adds 18 Boys’ Love (BL) Titles from screamo. And one of them is The Titan’s Bird, which I was always wanted to read since last year. But I never got around to reading Titan’s Bird. I heard online it really good.
There are another Screamo titles released called I'm No Match for Him. It like a highschool, comedy, teacher and student romance. It messed up the story but I find it entertaining and funny. So in this episode, I’ll be talking about both titles from Screamo. And my initial thoughts of the manga (chapter) ore chapter will be released soon on Futekiya. So they are not fully completed.

I finally got Wild Wild Wildlife by Hyougo Kijima I bought this manga blind not know the content and the art style. I also bought it because It was newly published and released by Kuma, so I want to add this manga to my Kuma book collection. I really like Kuma, the manga is of high quality. I become a fan when I read Can An Otaku like Me really be An Idol and Melting Lover. I love the quality of production and paper quality.
When I saw the manga online, I though it would be a very smutty manga like Sakira work or Ikuyasu (Hammered and Pounded). Typically beautiful, Masculine men.

I finally got some new manga. Even the manga I couldn’t get last month January. It does take a while for the books to dispatch, rough over a week but I was so happy they arrived. It felt a long time since I got any physical manga. I even got Wild Wild Wildlife and Cain: Mr Rain both published by Kuma. I have done a review on other Kuma manga (you should listen if you are interested. I hope next month March I be able to get some new Sublime manga. I actually gonna pre-order them soon.

Last week I didn’t get any physical copy. I noticed there are issues with publication and after because of the pandemic. So some books out of stock or not available anymore. I try to order some manga from Amazon and Book Depository but the dispatch date was too long and the book was not available. So I did most of spending ebook on Renta and Irodori Comic R18.
