A podcast about relationships - with ourselves, with eachother, with our culture. We talk about womanhood & well-being, joy & justice. From serious to silly, we’re having conversations that connect us and sharing stories that have shaped us. We practice empathy and explore what integrity & community care means to us. We believe politics are personal & we don’t shy away from nuanced topics.I am exploring these things in my personal life on a daily basis and as your host, I’m sharing my own thoughts, experiences & unique stories with you here - and bringing you guests that will do the same.Welcome!
A mostly lighthearted, organic conversation with Jenna Rammell about practicing empathy towards others online & finding belonging within ourselves in our noisy, modern lives. We also talk about Jenna’s recent ski accident, her non-traditional upbringing in the Middle East, and what is bringing her JOY these days.

Molly Nixon shares her story of traveling and living around the world for 7 years, and using her grief as fuel to jump in to activist & humanitarian work on the ground with Yazidi refugees after one of her closest friends was killed by ISIS.
Molly has recently resettled in the US after a decade of international travel, humanitarian service, and yogic exploration. Molly has a humanitarian heart, which is the foundation for all she does. She runs The Yoga Mandala Project which brings sustainable yoga programs to refugees and trauma informed training to humanitarians.

In this episode, I talk about the importance of naming and identifying the ambiguous “them” that we don’t agree with or that we’re made to feel fearful of.
CONTENT WARNING:
I also process some of my thoughts around current events & the most recent mass shootings, and the many intersections of our culture that collide when violence happens. I try to offer a moment of reflection and a reminder to care for ourselves in a week that may feel like too much.

Timber talks with Meikel Reece about anti-racism work, emotional healing, and belonging. Meikel has such a comforting yet commanding presence. She holds gentle, expansive space for women to learn emotional sovereignty and understand the true meaning of what it means to be anti-racist. Meikel teaches us that we can never truly belong to each other until we learn to belong to ourselves.

“Start now. Start where you are. Start with fear. Start with pain. Start with doubt. Start with hands shaking. Start with voice trembling but start. Start and don’t stop. Start where you are, with what you have. Just... start.”

You are enough. You belong. You are not alone.
This episode touches on the concept of using your unique tools to chisel, sculpt, and shape life & our collective future at “The Wall”.
I wanted to start a new season of episodes with this analogy because I believe this sentiment will echo with each conversation & guest that we welcome in, and to help us remember that no story - no set of tools - is too big or too small.
**I would love it if you'd join me over on Instagram and tell me one of your unique tools after you listen to the episode! You can find me @timberzaccardi
I’m excited to bring you a guest today - and the first episode ever recorded for the CalmUnity podcast. You’re going to hear from Anzana Woodward, she is a successful small business owner, a loving wife & mother, and a joy-filled, inspiring woman. She publicly & bravely shared her journey through stillborn loss a couple of years ago, as a way to help her cope with the immense shock and pain she felt - and since then she has provided space and strength for other women to see their own pain through her story.
// content warning: child loss + grief //
In this episode you’ll hear…
You can find Anzana on Instagram, @anzanastreasures where she shares her beautiful handmade products as well as bits of her heart.
And because it’s that time of year, I want you to know that Anzana makes the most adorably simple baby bows, and now face masks which have been incredibly popular, probably due to the unique fabrics she curates to make our mandated mask-wearing more fun ;) I hope you’ll look her up if you are shopping small business this holiday season!
We’re starting off the podcast with a little personal reflection.
In this episode you’ll hear me talk about:
// revolution and remembrance
// how we can embody “calm unity” at this intense and beautiful moment in time
// choosing transformational leadership in our lives
// the intention behind this show
