Floating Home Podcast: Recent Episodes

Adam Lind

The Floating Home Podcast is a passion project aiming to inspire people through the art of conversation. I’ll be inviting a range of people to join me on the narrowboat where I live to essentially just have a chat about life. I believe that each one of us is part of one whole collective, but within that I’ve always loved how humans differ in their opinions, theories & concepts. The Floating Home is a safe space to discuss anything & everything as we delve a little bit deeper and continue to expand our minds.

This episode of the podcast was nothing short of a breath of fresh air. Its rare you meet someone that can articulate many of the exact thoughts you have in such a concise, articulate & accurate manner but Louise did just that.

This was our first time meeting in person as she joined me alongside her partner, child, and unborn baby for an afternoon on the boat to discuss everything from their worldwide travels, their incredible published book & what its like to raise children on a narrowboat. I know everyone is going to fall in love with Louise's energy and take so much from this conversation

I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Alex Sherrick to speak about his life experience growing up in an abusive household. A slight trigger warning before we begin we do discuss topics of child abuse on both a physical & emotional level however his story discusses the understanding of compassion & growth through all his experiences making him a truly inspiring young man.

His remarkable story has many twists and turns and lessons that we can all adapt into our daily life and I feel very grateful to of had this chat with him.

The final episode of Series 1 is with the love of my life, boat partner & wife to be.. Lauren Coley.

We blog a lot about our life on Instagram and are always asked questions surrounding living on a boat, why, how and when did we decide to live on a boat? what are the costs of living on a boat? as well as some other general questions about how we met etc. I took to Instagram to ask if anyone had any questions for us and we used this podcast as somewhat of a Q & A to answer some of your questions and I really hope you enjoy it :)

I had the pleasure of inviting Beck over to my boat for a wonderful conversation about all things boat life & alternative living. We had only met previously on social media and I was drawn to her ambitious & productive nature as I knew she lived alone and impressively rebuilt the interior of her boat.

In this episode Beck uncovers her stories of struggling with dyslexia, living in a van for 4 years, being one half of a successful band that toured Europe & The USA, as well as buying a boat with no toilet, shower or heating!

It's a wonderful chat that I hope you enjoy
