Achieving a high level of overall health and well-being is probably a goal for nearly every person on this planet. And, as someone once told me, there is more than one way to climb to the top of the mountain, but only one top. In today’s episode, I sit down with Alyssa Makowski Johnston whose goal was just that, a better overall quality life starting with her health and well-being. To that end, after trying the diet and exercise route to no avail, she chose to undergo weight loss surgery. In the end, weight loss surgery for her proved to not only be successful, but a life changer as well. We discuss some specifics of weight loss surgery, why she chose to undergo the procedure, what some potential side effects might be, how life has been for her since having the surgery, and some things to think about if you are possibly considering this procedure. As I said above, there are many paths to take, weight loss surgery is another potential path on the overall health and wellness journey.

Alyssa is Nationally Board Certified in Family Nurse Practice through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Her Subspeciality is Obesity Management. Alyssa also has interest in Functional Medicine, Wellness, IV Therapy, HRT, and Aesthetics. She has over 19 years of medical experience and training, and has traveled nationwide to learn in varying arenas within healthcare.

We all want greater self-worth and more self-confidence. But how to achieve that? My guest today, Linh Dang, has been on her own journey of self-discovery into having greater self-worth and self-confidence. In today’s episode, Linh shares with us how she supports others in their journey of personal growth and transformation to have greater self-worth and self-confidence via the technique of rapid transformational hypnosis. Virtually all issues of low self-worth and low self-confidence can be traced back to a belief, or a block that is going on within the pysche. This limiting belief, or again hidden block, often prevents a person from having greater self-worth and self-confidence. It’s a matter of uncovering the limiting belief, or hidden block, and replacing the old belief with a new belief that supports you on your journey of growth and transformation. A big key to all of this, growing more confident in your own skin, is listening to your inner voice and what it is telling you. The process of greater self-worth and self-confidence is a gradual process, but in today’s episode you’ll also learn about two key skills to have greater awareness of your thoughts. And greater awareness leads to identifying the thoughts and stories you are telling yourself, which ultimately leads to creating new thoughts and stories. Which ultimately leads to greater self-worth and self-confidence. As Linh states near the end of the podcast, you are worthy of change and capable of it at the same time. Be sure and listen all the way to the end for the word of the episode and a special FREE offer.

Linh Dang is a rapid transformational hypnotherapist who is on a mission to help people unravel subconcious blocks, release suppressed emptions through hypnosis so that they can heal the relationship with themselves and others.

She can be reached on IG @linhdangk.

This podcast is about personal transformation, and helping you become that person you were meant to be. That 2.0 version of your true self if you will. Two key elements to support any one on the path of personal transformation are mindset and self-love. And that is exactly what today’s podcast episode is about. In today’s podcast episode, we’ll explore what is mindset, how to create the mindset needed to support your journey, how to eliminate old thinking paradigms and establish new ones, and how to shift your focus to become that person that you desire to be. We’ll also explore the topic of self-love, what this means exactly, and why prioritizing this is of utmost importance. Life becomes even more difficult and challenging when self-love is neglected as you try to place priorities to others and other events. My guest today, Mimi Damian, will explain these two topics of mindset and self-love, and how applying the knowledge from the understanding of these two topics to your own life and journey is vital. Mimi is a true success story of surviving to thriving, having overcome her own issues of depression, drug addiction, and an attempted suicide. What made the difference this time around when all the other times were met with failure, 3) what is the most important thing she learned on her journey that made all the difference from who she was to who she is now, and 4) what is the one key takeaway for others who also want to experience a transformation and turn their life around? For this podcast episode, I’ll be speaking with Heather Murray, a woman of immense courage who has managed to turn her life completely around. At one point, she was nearly 110lbs overweight, borderline diabetic, in a highly toxic relationship, dealing with a terminally ill parent, and suffering from very low self-esteem and self-worth. That something, which she’ll talk about in today’s episode, was the spark that ignited her to transform and become the woman that she is today. Heather lost 115lbs over the course of two years and has now kept it off for the past three years. She is no longer in danger of being a diabetic, has developed a new found love of walking and nutrition, and is now on a mission to help others do the same. How did she do all this? And if you’re struggling with your health, energy and self-worth, how can you take all that back and find yourself in the process? Take a listen to hear her story and how you can apply some of her wisdom to your own journey, and be sure and listen to the end for a special FREE offer. Heather is the proud mom of one teenage son, currently residing in Connecticut. She has lost 115lbs (and counting), and in the process gained a life of abundance and joy after experiencing the trauma of domestic violence. The world we live in today has given us access to a tremendous amount of information regarding all things health and wellness. Books, free exercise programs from YouTube, free seminars and even the addition of new technologies such as apps and BioCircuits which automatically create your exercise routine. In today’s episode, we will be exploring the question how do you love yourself and become the person you are meant to be? My guest today, Christy Maxey, has spent the better part of twenty years exploring this idea of self-love, and learning to love yourself. She is an expert in speaking the language of self-love. This is vital in today’s fast paced, ever changing world where it seems that stress, anxiety and depression are becoming more and more the norm. In all of this, somewhere along the way, we have forgotten, or perhaps never even learned, the language of self-love. If we want to move away from these states of anxiety, depression, stress and especially fear, this requires us sitting down with ourself and learning to talk the language of self-love. Will explore exactly what the language of self-love is in today’s episode, how you can learn to speak it, and how you can begin to take the time necessary for yourself so that you can move beyond the states of fear, anxiety, stress and depression. Christy is a personal development life coach, and is on a mission to spread the valuable information of the power of true self-love. She is the author of The Maxx Method: How to Love Yourself and Become Who You are Meant to Be and co-author of The Mindful Dating Journal, bothavailable on Amazon.

In today’s episode, we’ll be exploring the question how do you deal with and overcome trauma, including PTSD, also known as Post Traumatic Disorder? While trauma can occur in varying forms, the method for dealing with and overcoming trauma focuses on one key issue: what you choose. This was the case for my guest today, Keyosha Duarte, who chose to heal and move on from her own personal experiences with trauma. In doing so, she was able to transform from a place of depression and even thoughts of suicide to live a life where she is now thriving. As she likes to say, she went from a victim mentality to a victor mentality. How can you do this in your life? How can you bounce back and move beyond your trauma to a place of empowerment. Keyosha will tell us exactly what she did, and how you too can bounce in your life. Trauma does not have to define you, and in today’s episode we’ll explore how you can use the lessons from Keyosha’s life to overcome your own trauma, no matter how small or large. We’ll take an in depth look at Keyosha’s experience, including her book the journey to recovery, and what steps she has outlined for dealing with and overcoming Trauma. Keyosha is now a trauma recovery coach, and is using her experience to help others move on from their own personal trauma. In today’s episode, we’ll be exploring the question how do you learn to value yourself? I’m guessing if you’re like me or most people, issues like self-esteem, self-worth, self-efficacy and self-confidence are something that at one point or another in your life you may have struggled with. Or perhaps are still struggling with to this day. This was the case for my guest today, Aisha Barnes, who struggled immensely in her earlier years, both with valuing herself and always trying to be a people pleaser. She would try and please everyone except for the one person that mattered most in her life, and that was her. Her lack of valuing herself even led to her developing an eating disorder at an early age. At one point she devalued herself so much that she would make friends by buying things for them, doing unnecessary or over the top favors, and even lying about herself and her life so that she would seem interesting and someone who was worthy of their friendship. Finally, one day she said enough is enough. And she began the slow but tangible process of turning her life around and begin to value herself. How did she do this? And if these same issues of self-worth, self-confidence and self-efficacy are challenges for you, how can you overcome them and turn your life around? Today we’ll here Aisha’s story and how she went from surviving to thriving and turned it all around. She is now a Freedom Coach helping other women discover their self-worth, author of the E-book How to Own Your Past & Live Life By Your Rules, and can be reached via her website www.aishabarnes.co.uk.

As a health coach, I am always interested in any credible and organic information or modality that can improve one’s quality of life. Particularly if it means experiencing less stress, anxiety and depression, and more peace, joy and happiness in one’s life. In today’s podcast episode, we are going to hear about a stress management technique known as EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique. My guest today, Ann Hice, first learned of this technique while visiting her doctor many years ago. We’ll discuss further what this technique is, and how it can be used to manage stress and anxiety in your life. We’ll also dive a little deeper, and explore the root cause of stress and anxiety within the body itself. We’ll look at questions such as what are emotions? Do we cling and hold onto emotions, and is it the act of holding on and clinging to these emotions over the years that leads to tension within the body itself? How do you release all of this built-up tension over the years? And can releasing all this tension lead to more peace and more confidence for a person? We’ll even go beyond EFT, actually two layers beyond, and see how to go very deep within the body to release more tension for even greater stress and anxiety relief.

Ann now teaches others to experience greater peace and freedom by living from the inside out. As we change our inside, so too will our outside change. She is a speaker, spiritual teacher, and author of the book A Pathway to Insight.

What is happiness? And what exactly does it mean to pursue happiness? And why are so many people in the pursuit of happiness unable to find it? How can we be happy regardless of the job, or size of the house, or type of car we drive? And lastly, how is it that someone can everything in life and still be unhappy?

Everyone wants to be happy, but they might be looking for it in the wrong place. They key to understanding happiness then is to realize happiness is not something external, but rather an inside job. Such was the realization for my guest today, Karyn Seitz, who had a profound realization in her early 30’s that the root cause of her unhappiness was her. It wasn’t her job, her career, her hobbies, her friends or her family. It was her. When she understood this, everything changed in her life. Including at long last to be able to lose the excess weight she had been carrying around for years. In today’s episode, we’ll take a deep exploration into happiness and answer those questions above. We’ll talk about Karyn’s profound realization of what it takes to be truly happy, and the mistake she was making for so many years. And by the end of this episode, you’ll be able to understand what it truly takes to be happy. And this is true regardless of the job, the family situation, or whatever else you may have going on in your life.

After trying for years to get better, including yoga, healthy eating, exercising, meditation, even become a license Reiki healer, nothing was working for her. She knew she wasn’t getting the changes she wanted in her life, and she secretly lacked any confidence in her ability to change. On the outside things looked great, but on the inside Karyn knew deep down all these things were not working. In a fresh new search for answers, Karyn found the missing piece that would transform her life and the life of her clients. There is something very profound in owning that she is the problem in her life. This awareness pushed her to confront herself and get serious about herself and her life. Karyn is now fulfilled and teaches others to be the same. She is a happiness mentor and teaches an online course for women called awakened grace.

Imagine feeling constantly stressed, overworked, not getting enough sleep and waking up throughout the night in nervousness and anxiety worrying about all the things that still needed to be done on your to do list. Now, imagine all of that changing and going from overstressed, overworked, and lacking sleep to less stress, and finding your true purpose. This is exactly what happened for my guest today, Margaret Agard, who was a single mother of eight children, and their sole financial support while working as an executive in the high-tech industry. At the same time, she was doing all that, she had also returned to university to finish earning her bachelor’s degree in math/computer science.

In today’s podcast episode, we’ll hear her story and talk about how she was able to go from living a life of constant stress and anxiety, to living a higher life full of love, meaning and purpose. Margaret was a compulsive list maker who never came close to accomplishing all that she needed to accomplish, often waking in a panic about all that needed to be done that she wasn’t doing. Her life completely changed when she began taking her to-do list to God /Spirit/Inner voice each day and asking what should she be doing? When she did this, she stopped waking in a panic, got more done, more sleep and less stress. And she wound up finding her true purpose, and got the most wonderful life that she now loves and never even knew was possible.

Margaret is also a Reiki Level II healer, and practices contemplative prayer, an ancient Christian meditative practice that grounds her. Immune health? And what role does lifestyle play in all of this? And how do you start someone down the path of reclaiming their health? What can the everyday person do or how can they get started? That voice between your ears, that voice in your head, is your inner critic. It tells you things like I'm not good enough, I'm not smart enough, or I'm not worthy enough. But don’t be fooled and don’t listen to it. It is a false voice. How do you begin to tame the inner critic voice? And is there an opposite to your inner critic voice? In today's episode, we are discussing this inner critic voice, what it is, and more specifically how you can begin to tame it. It starts with awareness, being aware of your thoughts and what is going on in your mind. It then shifts to stillness and sitting with yourself quietly as you go within, and then, you begin to tell yourself the opposite. That you are good enough, that you are worthy, and that that voice between your ears is a false and misleading voice. Ask yourself what brings you the most joy? The answer to that is what makes your heart sing. Personal development and living a life that is happy, healthy and fulfilled is a journey that unfortunately does not happen overnight. Each day become more aware of your inner critic, and begin the work to turn down that volume, and turn up the volume of your true voice. Tune in to today's episdoe to learn more. In today's world there are two noises. First, the noise of society which says get the career job, the house, the car, the family. Second, there is the noise of your heart, which, as was the case with Vi Vi today, took her down a path of minimalism and van life. Which for her she had never even thought about, and was completely unexpected. However, we learned that true fulfillment and happiness comes from listening to that noise of your heart, then having the courage to follow it. We see that in today's episode, Vi Vi went against the grain of both society and even her own family and did just that. The reward being a life of complete bliss, fulfillment, and happiness. Wherever you are in your life, take a moment to listen. Listen to your heart. What is it telling you? We all know stories of millionaires who are not fulfilled, and so if you are seeking greater fulfillment in your life, tune into that noise of your heart, and allow it to guide you where it is meant to guide you. As both Vi Vi and I have learned, fear and self-doubt are normal and common, but we don’t let those stop us from defining who we are. We have both chosen to follow the noise that is our heart. If you are feeling uncertain or insecure about what is next in life, you are not alone. Many of us have been there. With this podcast, one of my primary goals is to help you, the listener, learn how to keep weight off permanently and live that healthy lifestyle, however that looks for you. In today’s episode, I am going to be speaking with Renee Jones, who went on a diet for 40 years! Yes, you heard that correctly, 40 years! Now, can any of you imagine being on a weight loss journey for nearly 40 years. If you can, or if you have ever been on any type of your own weight loss journey, you will want to listen to what we talk about today. A very long term weight loss journey is the story for my guest today Renee, and during those 40 years, she estimates she gained and lost somewhere around 2,000 pounds. Until finally in 2012 she discovered the secret sauce, or the key ingredients if you will, to not just losing weight, but keeping weight off permanently. Today we are going to hear her story, and talk specifically about how to keep weight off permanently, including how to overcome the huge challenge of emotional eating. Tune in as her answers will surprise you, and I am certain they are new insights that you have not heard before. We’ll talk about questions like why do diets fail? How do we manage emotional eating? How do you actually make a resolution work for you (as opposed to quitting and giving up)? After 40 years on a diet, what made the difference that has allowed her to keep the weight off? What’s the real secret for losing weight and keeping it off? Renee Jones has a master’s degree in Marriage & Family counseling, a clinical residency in pastoral care. Her TedX talk on emotional eating has been viewed well over half a million times, and she is an Amazon best-selling author of the book “What’s Really Eating You? Why do we struggle in life? Why should we focus first and foremost on mindset? What is the first thing we need to do in order to create the life we would like to experience? Why is the darkness our greatest ally? In today’s episode, I am chatting with Dr. Victor Manzo, a business mindset coach, certified holistic practitioner, pediatric chiropractor, and the author of two books, “Re-discover Your Greatness,” and “A Walk in the Dark.” And we are talking about exactly that, how to create your most ideal life. We dive deep into those four questions and the answers Dr. Vic gives will astound and inspire you. Is struggle really necessary? How does the mind work in all of this? Can we train our nervous system to be a higher vibration and attract what we want to be, do and have? The answer to this last question is absolutely yes. Think of playing a piano, the more you practice the better you get right? Same with your vibration, the more you tune it the stronger it gets. Take a listen to find out more how you can create your most ideal life. Imagine having your whole life ahead of you, and then, at the young age of 29, being diagnosed with a long-term chronic illness. What would you do? How would you respond? Would you let the illness define you, or would you define it? Today we are going to hear from an extraordinary woman, who, at the age of 29, was diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (MS). As she will tell you, it took her a while, but ultimately, she made a decision, that she could define her MS, or it could define her. How did she make this decision? And how did she go about “owning” MS so that she was in control, not the illness. And for you in your life, how can you own and spin whatever “crummy cake” that is a negative for you in your life into “frosting,” something positive. In today’s episode, we are going to learn and hear how our guest did just that, and how you can do that for you life as well. Take a listen! Imagine being a young teenage woman, low self-worth, low self-esteem, not liking who you are or anything about yourself. Then, after too many drugs, alcohol, and self-sabotaging, winding up one day in the hospital, you realize the current situation isn’t working for you. Hence, you switch up your life and become a fitness enthusiast and professional bikini competitor. Only then to fall down another rabbit hole and wind-up binge eating and suffering from an emotional eating disorder. Then, after all, that, you figured it out and went on to become a thriving woman who is fully in love with herself and life now, and never even has to think about food. Change is possible, overcoming extreme adversity in multiple forms is possible, and in today’s episode we meet Tania Danielle who shares her incredible story of overcoming self-abuse (mental and physical), emotional and binge eating, and OCD type obsession with being fit. She also realized that being fit and healthy are NOT the same thing, far from it. As she will tell you, it is a journey. A beautiful journey of self-discovery. What did she learn along the way? And more to the matter, what did she learn about being healthy? And what does being healthy truly mean? Who is the person you want to be and how do you want to live your life? Tune in today and take a listen to learn from Tania and how she overcame the odds and set a new standard, and how you too can defy the odds and set a new standard for your life. Ok that title is a bit of a tongue twister, but if you read it slowly and think about it, it makes sense. How many of you reading this right now are truly loving the life you live to love? In today’s podcast episode, we meet Michelle, a grind it out day to day worker who gave her best to her company, and in the process lost sight of who she was and the real meaning of life. The result? That title represents the own words of my guest today, Dai Manuel, who knows exactly all about dealing with the struggle of the juggle of this crazy journey we call life. In today’s episode, Dai, who happens to be a successful business mentor and entrepreneur, TedX speaker, author, high performance life coach and most importantly Dad and husband, tells us how it’s not who and what you don’t want to be that matters most, but it is who and what you do want to be in life that really matters the most. Through the crazy impossibilities of asking himself and his family questions such as “what if?” and “why not?” he slowly began to transform his life into the person he was meant to be, someone that his daughter would want to be with. What would happen with you and your life if you started to ask ‘”what if?” and “why not me/us?” What would happen if you started to truly focus on the person that your spouse/child/society really needed you to be? That person is there and inside you right now, simply waiting to be let out of its cage for the world to see. This is exactly what Dai did, he asked what if and why not me, and then dared to dream and took it as far and wide as he could imagine, including a 2 ½ year stint in Indonesia. This is the focus of this podcast episode, being the person you were meant to be, asking what if and why not, and doing it all while dealing with the crazy struggle of the juggle that is all things life. Many of us go through life trying to swim upstream, against the current, against the river of life. The result of this in the real world is sometimes seen in the form of rejections, closed doors, frustrations, and the feeling that something just isn’t quite right. It’s only when we learn to go with the flow of where the river is going that we become aligned with our true calling and begin to experience the boundless joy that life is really all about. My guest today, Jenny Toh, professional lawyer turned professional life coach, went through such a journey. She had a deeper feeling, an inner sense or intuition if you will, that her life was meant for something else, something more than just being a lawyer. When she finally aligned with where her river was going, she, as she states in her own words “wasn’t tired and had energy.” That’s the power of living a life in alignment, an endless supply of energy. As you listen to this episode, ponder what would bring you greater joy in life: a life of logic that says do this or be that, or a life that follows the feeling that is the river that takes you down a completely different path from the one you were thinking (and perhaps even thought you were supposed to be on). Tune in and listen to today’s episode to hear Jenny’s story and words of wisdom about how you too can be aligned with your own river and live the life you were meant to live, not the one you think you are supposed to live. For four days leading up to this episode, I was crippled with anxiety. I couldn’t figure out what was going on or why I had such bad anxiety. Finally, one evening, I decided I had to do something about this crippling anxiety I was having, less it be allowed to control my life. This episode shares my story of how I learned to understand what fear really is, where fear comes from, and how to confront fear head on once and for all. Doing so has allowed me to replace this crippling fear (in the form of anxiety) that I was experiencing, and replace that feeling with peace. Please be aware also that none of the issues have changed, the issues causing me severe anxiety in the first place are still there and have not diminished in any way shape or form. What has changed; however, is my perception about those isssues. And again, in this episode today I share with you another one of my personal stories how I was able to effectively deal with fear head-on and replace it with peace, and now a week later as I write and publish this particular episode I am overcome with peace and virtually 99.9% of the anxiety has faded away completely.

In today’s podcast episode, I dive more into my story about how I went from living life with very little meaning and purpose (out of alignment as some might say) to living a life in alignment with my higher purpose and calling, and as a resulted having a limitless supply of energy and joy. And it’s not as hard as you think to do this either. There is an easy button to life, we all have one. This easy button comes in the form of your inner pilot light, your intuition, or as I like to call it your inner joy. How can we live a life of more purpose? How can we live a life of more passion? Of more meaning? And how do we push that easy button that we all have? It’s actually rather simple, and I talk about all of this plus a little bit more in today’s episode. Happy listening!
