Finding the right music for your podcast is crucial for setting the tone and enhancing the listener's experience. It can elevate your intros, outros, and transitions, adding a layer of emotion that resonates with your audience. However, you can't just pick any popular song you love; you need to use royalty-free music to avoid legal issues. Options like Audio Jungle and Soundstripe can provide you with quality tracks, while free resources such as the YouTube Audio Library and Free Music Archive are also available. Remember to carefully consider your podcast's vibe and use music that complements it, ensuring a balanced sound that enhances rather than distracts from your message.

How to Start a Podcast Series: Step Nine Mastering Your Podcast Craft
Mastery is all about developing the skills and knowledge to become a pro at something. Just like you wouldn't expect a little kid who wants to do gymnastics to compete in the Olympics right away, or a newbie runner to jump into a marathon without training, podcasting takes time and dedication; it’s all about practice, practice, practice!
I’ll share some of my own podcasting ups and downs, including the importance of showing up even when it’s tough.
We’ll also cover some practical tips and tools to help you keep going:
Finding a supportive podcasting community for support.
Investing in continuing education
Setting goals and finding accountability partners to stay on track.
Regularly reassess your podcasting goals and strategies.
Finally, I’ll answer two big questions: how long does it take to see podcasting results, and what does it take to build a successful podcast?
Quotes
"When you're in community with other like minded podcasters, it spurs you on to try new things. It encourages you to keep going."
"No one expects a four year old who says, "I want to be an Olympic gymnastics girl” to go out onto the floor and do a backhand spring into a back tuck or do the bars right off the bat. That's just not how it works. So it is with podcasting… you have to show up and practice, practice, practice.”

Experiencing growing pains is a universal aspect of life—those moments where we find ourselves navigating uncharted territories, learning to operate in a different way. Kristin shares a story that resonates with the spirit of every kingdom podcaster, offering a perspective on embracing growth.
Picture this: You're in the midst of growth, and suddenly, panic sets in. It's that instinctual reaction when faced with a new situation, a challenge, or a shift in the familiar. The natural response is to seek a way out, to escape the discomfort. But what if, instead of fleeing, we learn to breathe through the growth process?
When we find ourselves sitting in that space of discomfort, it's an opportunity to recognize that this is where the real transformation happens. Trusting God in the midst of the unknown allows us to breathe, breaking free from the instinct to enter a state of fight or flight.
As kingdom podcasters, we are not exempt from the trials of growth. We, too, face moments of uncertainty and discomfort. But let's encourage one another to breathe through it, to embrace the process, and to find solace in the truth that God is intricately woven into every step of our journey.
Quotes from Today’s Episode:
“There are times when we will be uncomfortably pushed”
“Trust that God is in the process”
“We get to become comfortable with the uncomfortable”
“The end result is going to be growth”

Fear not, as Kristin is here to address some common questions and shed light on the path to podcasting success.

I’m on anchor which was bought out by Spotify- is that fine to start with? What is podcast management? How does it work? How many downloads should I have to start monetizing my podcast? Is it absolutely necessary to have a podcast microphone?
A common question arises from those who've chosen Anchor, recently acquired by Spotify, as their podcasting platform. Kristin's advice? It's an excellent starting point! However, the real magic lies in having an RSS feed.
Curious about when to start making money and how many downloads suffice? Kristin advocates starting early, irrespective of your audience size. It's not just about the numbers; positioning yourself as an expert and promoting your own content yields more success.
Do you need an expensive mic? Not necessarily. Quality audio matters, but you don't need to break the bank to purchase a mic.
Kristin unpacks the power of podcast management and how it goes beyond mere podcast creation; it's about nurturing podcasters themselves.
Podcasting isn't a sprint but a marathon of establishing authority and building trust. Kristin stresses the importance of patience, consistency, and perseverance in podcasting endeavors.
From answering podcasting questions to delving into podcasting statistics, Kristin answers questions about the frequency of podcasting but, more importantly, how consistency matters.

Podcasting is like hip-hop. Yes, you read that title correctly. Podcasting requires the same dedication, participation, and thorough knowledge as does hip-hop dancing.
Kristin grew up an avid dancer and, in this episode, helps listeners connect the dots to understand the true meaning behind this metaphor. As a hip-hop dancer, you learn the steps, and as you master the moves, you begin to get creative by adding your flavor. No two hip-hop dancers are the same. No two podcasters are the same.
Podcasting requires you to learn the basics, and then the real fun begins with you adding your sense of uniqueness and style. Remember that your flavor keeps your listeners staying tuned to your podcast. Kristin reminds listeners that a podcast shouldn’t feel like a chore, it should be enjoyable. You want your listener to come back each episode because of the creative way you present topics.
If you’re struggling to have fun with your podcast and it feels like a chore, schedule a call with Kristin. She can help you get back into the rhythm of recording.

You have a list of goals, and it’s on your to-do list for tomorrow, but tomorrow comes and stays undone on the checklist. You ask yourself, why can’t I get this done? When this happens, we lack one thing, and it’s accountability within ourselves. But here is a reminder you’re not alone.
In today’s episode, Kristin shares advice, motivation, and encouragement while offering tangible tools you can put in place to hold yourself accountable.
When we are accountable, we are in control of our lives. We can make choices that align with our values and goals. We can set boundaries and stick to them. We can make decisions that are in our best interest. While it can feel scary, with the right strategies and tactics in place, anything is possible.
If you’re ready to start checking things off your list but need some accountability, reach out to Kristin and schedule a free consultation.

Listening to other people’s stories encourages and broadens our scope of knowledge, all while seeing things from a new perspective. It gives us a reason to believe in ourselves while remembering that if others can do it, so can we.
This episode does just that. Kristin welcomes special guest Gretchen Heinen, a seasoned podcaster and a successful business coach. She shares her story of how she began, pivoted, and, most importantly, how she listened to her voice.
Gretchen unpacks strategies and systems that work for her, but she also invites listeners into her vulnerable moments and how she didn’t let fear stop her. She stretched the limit and kept going. If you find yourself in a rough patch, it’s ok to pause, but don’t quit.

You're ready to start a podcast, and you're excited about this new venture, but there is one thing holding you back… it's you.
This question is so loud in your brain that it plays repeatedly. "Who am I to start a podcast?". Podcasting requires you to step out of your comfort zone and be vulnerable. Something is standing in your way, whether fear or imposter syndrome.
In today's episode, Kristin challenges listeners to get quiet with themselves and uncover the things they know they're good at, the things people have said to them, and to ask themselves, "who AM I."
What you say needs to be heard, and people want to hear it, but you must move past the comfort zone to get to that place. We are our own biggest critics, don't let the fear and what if's limit your potential to do great things.

You’re a creator, a doer, an innovator, and have big hopes and dreams. But that’s just it, they’re hopes and dreams. You’re stuck in the rut of dreaming because the actions seem overwhelming and, at times, feel impossible.
In today’s episode, Kristin is raw, honest, and, most importantly, encouraging. She understands how taking a leap of faith into your dreams is scary, but with one foot forward, it’s possible. Dreams are fantastic but will not deliver the desired results or get you where you want to go.
Sometimes, we just have to do it. We must set fear aside and step into the action we’ve been avoiding. Kristin gives listeners actionable ideas helping them achieve that next step they’ve wanted to take. Kristin hopes that today’s episode serves as motivation or a reminder that you are indeed capable of making your dreams come true.

Welcome to Episode 10 on Wholistic Podcasting! It’s time for a glimpse into what I do as a Podcast Coach.
Today you get to tuck this tool into your back pocket as you pursue your dreams as a podcaster.
If you were my client, I would sit you down and have you close your eyes and dream.
I personally believe the Lord gives us a glimpse of our portion if we so choose to say yes.
We are made in the image of the Creator. And when He spoke in the beginning of time, things were created.
We have the power of life and death in our tongue.
What we speak, think, will direct our steps.
(If you want to hear more about the power of using our imaginations through Holy sanctification and declarations go listen to Wholistic Hearts- my other podcast where I talk a lot about this.)
