Jennie grew up locally, attending college at USM and being a member of TBC for years. Jennie was saved at a young age, but doubted her faith in her teen years. However, God affirmed that she was His child, and Jennie shares how He has moved and worked in her life and in her family over the years. Jennie shares how living as a christian often requires being a peace maker, rather than a peace keeper, and also how trials often lead to unexpected blessings. Listen and be encouraged.
Tim Carley grew up in Sumrall, MS in a family who was faithfully walking with Christ. Tim’s on faith came to a crossroads when he realized that he could no longer blend in with his faithful family while being lost. Tim knew he needed Christ and repented and believed shortly before leading a group at a church camp. Tim has since been led by the Holy Spirit and is a devoted follower of Christ who works in a manner that displays his morals and values daily. Living a transparent life is not always easy, but Tim shares how focusing on open, honest relationships is what leveraging his influence and leading others to Christ is all about.

Dr. Steve Stogner is a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church and teaches a Wednesday night equipping class on apologetics. Dr. Brett Valentine serves Temple Baptist Church as the chairman of the personnel committee and a talented soloist in the choir. He is a well-respected leader in the church, and a respected influence in the surrounding community as he runs his dental practice in Sumrall. Brett shares his story of salvation and a moving picture of his earthly father showing him the grace of our Heavenly Father. In His time, God brought Larry and Jana Kay together and grew their family, while also growing their faith in Him and his provision. Randy Sims is a former Pastor of Temple Baptist Church, as well as several churches prior to his tenure at Temple. He shares the story of his salvation – the moment that his belief turned into true faith in Jesus – as well as God’s call on his life to go into the ministry as a career. Randy’s encouragement focuses on the notion that being who you are is more important that doing what you do – regardless of his job as “Pastor,” God has called him to be a man of character and integrity and influence at all times. Donna Stewart has been living out Temple Baptist Church’s Mission Statement for years in the education system. She taught for years on the collegiate level, and in the midst of a career notorious for hindering the inclusion of the Gospel, she found ways to teach, love, and invite students to come and experience Christ. Through mentorship and loving girls on difficult paths and in difficult circumstances, Donna has been leading by example in leveraging her influence in the lives of students to lead them towards Jesus.

Danny discusses his ability to bring his relationship with Christ into his law enforcement career – a bright message in a sometimes-dark environment. Ted Palmer has worked in media and management for years, particularly at the Pine Belt's largest media output - WDAM. While Ted managed and lead the team at WDAM with great influence and ability, he rarely had moments of screen time or public recognition. This characterizes Ted's spiritual walk and influence as well - Ted humbly and quietly leads out in our mission statement of leveraging his influence to lead others to Christ as he involves himself in Bible Fellowship ministry, growing and making disciples, and nurturing his relationship with his wife and family. Listen as Ted shares his experiences and encouragements over the years.
Gary Shows has served at Temple for over 30 years in different pastoral positions. His life has been characterized by his love of people and his ability to build and maintain relationships, as well as his leadership of his family and this church through personal loss and difficult transitions. Dr. Johnny Mayfield has been in veterinarian medicine for decades, but more than treating the ailments of animals, he's notorious for pointing his patient's families to the healing power of Jesus Christ. Dr. Mayfield does this in his career as well as in our church as he and his wife minister to peers, young couples, and college students throughout the church body. Listen to hear Dr. Mayfield's own story of surrender, hardships, and obedience and trust in Jesus throughout his life.
Sam Hogue, a long-time member of Temple and faithful servant, shares his story of working in the sales world to now being retired, all the while being obedient to God’s call yo minister to clients and people as God leads. Ms. Kay James spent years on the basketball court preparing for game days with her team of women’s basketball players. You might recognize her name as one of the long-time coaches of the women’s basketball team at Hattiesburg’s very own University of Southern Mississippi. These days, Ms. Kay’s game days are her Sunday mornings - she plans and prepares to teach a Bible Fellowship class of women who want to know Christ and make him known. Listen as Ms. Kay shares some stories from her coaching years and as she encourages believers to be faithful to the work God can continue to do later in life. Get your game face on for this one.
Dr. Ronnie Kent has been offering hope to families in the Hattiesburg area for years as he has used his gift of knowledge to find ways to treat ADD and ADHD. He has faithfully used this avenue to offer hope to families through Jesus as he ministers to them by sharing his testimony and making Christ the forefront of his life. Dr. Kent shares some of these stories, as well as another story of how God provided him hope during a difficult battle of his father’s illness and a crisis of faith.
