What if listening to God's subtle nudges could transform your life? Guest Brian Case shares how a willingness to follow those small promptings took him from being a defeated, bullied child to a passionate pastor inspiring others in their faith.

Though facing immense hardships like years of bullying and multiple life-threatening open heart surgeries, Brian made a choice to draw closer to God in prayer instead of retreating. He started tuning his heart to the gentle guidance of the Holy Spirit from a young age. This obedience during adversity strengthened his relationship with God and sense of purpose.

Now Brian urges all men to pay attention when they sense the Lord nudging their spirit into action, no matter how small the task seems. As he discovered firsthand, obeying these quiet whispers can lead people from brokenness into boldly living out their destiny in Christ. By clinging to faith rather than fear, Brian found a life of victory.

On this episode of The Intentional Guy podcast, host Michael Chestnut interviews author Paul Zollman about his book "The Role of Love" which offers a fresh take on the popular "5 Love Languages."

Zollman shares his journey from an abusive and angry upbringing to breaking that generational cycle by taking responsibility for his emotions and relationships. This led him to develop an innovative way to teach the essence of love languages through a dice game that prompts practicing giving love through gifts, touch, acts of service, quality time and words.

It takes the focus off guessing what others want and makes it about becoming "love linguists" - learning how to actively love people around us through various means. They discuss how this intentional approach trains us to see opportunities to express love, bring more light into the world, and relate to others from a place of genuine care.

Tune in to hear insights on overcoming negativity, the power of modeling emotional health for kids early on, and why choosing to love widely benefits both ourselves and community. It's a simple but profound guide to living out the golden rule.

Unravel is for any man on any journey.

Unravel was started by a group of Christian men who want more from themselves and each other. They wanted to create a space to explore how to be a better man, where they could grow as Christians, friends, workers, husbands, and fathers.

The process flows from the Bible and draws from a number of Christian and secular teachers, scholars, and leaders. That said, the principles are universal. Through each Unravel experience, participants strive to articulate their unique, personal vision and a practical framework for moving that vision forward.

I am asking if you would take part in something I am doing. It is a 28-day challenge that will start on January 18th and end on February 14th, Valentine’s Day. This will be done through the Podcast I do “Intentional Guy". It is very simple but can also be very vulnerable for some. I did an interview with Amber and in it you can see how one thing I changed in our relationship but feared the most to do. This one thing brought us even closer. https://youtu.be/t_nFqlKc6OQ Sometimes if we are not careful, we can just exist as a married couple but never thrive. I often wonder why some people are married, because they don’t seem to have any joy. I don’t want to be that couple and truth is Amber, and I was that couple up until about two years ago. What if by Valentine Day February 14, 2023, your marriage could be transformed. What if when Your wife looks at you, her eyes show you how much she adores you (like when you first started dating)? Is that something you want? I’m not saying you have a bad marriage but we all can be better husbands than we currently are. I have prayed and felt led to ask you as one of these five men to join me. Not because I think you have faults as a husband but because I think we have some of the same goals. Our character is often forged from the people we spend the most time with. In fact, if you think of your top five friends you hang out with, you are most likely somewhere in the middle of each of their characteristics and goals. Most men (husbands mainly) can’t even think of five other men they spend time with on a regular basis. All this challenge will consist of, is a willing spirit to hear God’s voice, watch the special episodes that will air starting Wednesday January 18th at 12 PM CST ending on February 14th where hopefully you and your wife will have a wonderful Valentine’s Day, and the fruit of your labor will have been seen by her. On February 15th we will air a special live broadcast bearing some great results from husbands who have firsthand seen God move in their marriage. This would also be a good episode to share with Your wife so she can see that You desire a closer relationship with her. During this time period it is my hope that God will reveal to you small things you can do that will have an impact on your marriage. Yes, I said small things. It is usually the little things that matter the most. You will see that in the first episode that will air on the 18th as I have a conversation with a close friend Blaine Bressman, sharing a bold moment when he confronted me about my marriage. It was a humbling game changer. I hope you will consider being a part of this with me, I look forward to your response.

Author John Jarman and Mike have a great conversation about Broken and Redeemed,

NEW YORK—August 16, 2022—Morgan James’ new release, Broken & Redeemed: Finding Freedom Through Complete Surrender, by John Jarman, is a memoir devotional of brokenness, surrender, and redemption, leading to a deepening of faith.

A story of John Jarman’s journey to finding redemption in the Grace of God, Broken & Redeemed covers John’s troubled childhood and challenging adulthood and teaches individuals how to find true strength in faith. By

explaining what “total surrender” to the Lord looks like, Broken & Redeemed shares how vulnerability and selfknowledge lead to a deeper relationship with God.

Broken & Redeemed depicts how to overcome an abusive childhood and shows how the Lord uses the least likely to

show His grace and glory. A powerful memoir, Broken & Redeemed shows how to truly live following God’s voice.

On Air with Paul Granger

Paul and Mike have such a great conversation on todays episode about How to see God more in the midst of your crazy life.

Paul's website is https://www.wheredidyouseegod.com/

When asked who he is, Paul likes to say "a child of God and ambassador of Christ",  because he's learned that these elements of his identity supersede and shape the rest.  One of the ways God has invited him to live out the call to "love God and love others" is through the "shepherding gift": providing pastoral support, creating space for conversation and community, and advocating for those that may go unseen.

Functionally, he has spent the last two decades serving with various ministries, and now serves full time alongside YWAM in loving his neighbors in authentic ways.  He also loves to create, whether it is his podcast "Where did you see God", writings, or videos.  He loves spending time with his wife and kids, and they see their home -- which God gave them in a crazy way -- as an important piece of how they love their neighbors as a lifestyle.

Michael Chestnut interviews Karen Jolly about his book "Exposed".

Karen posted the following:

"Knowing the author made this book even more powerful than it already is. I can only imagine how hard it was to put your life’s story on paper for the world to read. But seeing how powerful God is, how He works through the mess and sends people in and out of your life to speak truth and life over horrible situations, not only inspires me to watch more closely as to how God works, but to be intentional about letting God use me to help show His love and Grace. Mike, knowing you since you came to our church, serving alongside you and seeing God use you in such a powerful way is a true honor."

Maurice “Smiley” Harris' story is one of a young man’s struggles to find direction in his life after being recruited by some of the nation’s top Division I NCAA football programs in the country.

He eventually signed with and played for legendary Coach Bobby Bowden at FSU (Florida State University). A severe neck injury abruptly ended Maurice’s dream of one day becoming a professional athlete and entering the NFL draft became, a personal nightmare. Maurice started making terrible decisions, than shortly after graduating from FSU he made one that had him facing a felony crime and eventually sentenced to eight years in prison. His misguided choices

profoundly changed his life but were used as a compass for future challenges after being released from prison. Spending years incarcerated led to painful experiences and many unforeseen setbacks for Maurice. His vociferous personality and redemptive spirit led him to a place of courageously taking steps to atone for his past mistakes. He is determined to not allow prior

failings to dictate future outcomes. Maurice (Smiley) Harris is no longer SIDELINED.

On April 25, 2021, Michael Chestnut preached for the first time in church after 15 years of living in shame and guilt.  It was at his brother in Laws Bill Freedoms Ordination ceremony.  This was during the time Michael had found a freedom and restoration in Christ.  It would be 8 months after this sermon that he would publish his book "Exposed" telling of his life's failures that paralyzed him for many decades.  God does not call the equipped. He equips those he calls.
