You ever wonder why certain social media videos reel you in and have you glued to the screen 👀
And other ones have you wanting to scroll to the next video less than 3 seconds in
You may think it’s random but I assure you that it’s not
There are proven frameworks and tactics that great creators use to hook you in, retain you, and inspire you to take action
And once you know how to do that…your marketing and business will never be the same 🤑
I get into all of this and more in todays video, but here’s the run down!
The Framework
To create videos that truly captivate your audience over and over again, you’ll need a straightforward yet highly effective framework known as the G.E.M.S. framework. This framework is designed to guide you through the process of making sure that your video hook, retain, and inspire action from your audience. And here's the best part – the GEMS framework is not a fleeting trend; it's a timeless approach that will serve you well now and in the future. Here it is:
G - Get Clear on Your Audience and Message
Before you even think about hitting that record button, take a step back and ask yourself: Who are you creating this video for? Why should they care? What's in it for them? These fundamental questions are often overlooked but are the building blocks of effective video content.
E - Engage Your Audience with a Strong Hook & Earn Their Attention
Think of your hook as the bait that lures in your viewers. In a world where social media feeds are overflowing with content, you need to earn every second of your audience's attention. To do that, pique their curiosity right from the start. Share a compelling story, a unique/bold perspective, or a knowledge gap that keeps them wondering, "What's next?" Curiosity is your ally here.
M - Map Out Your Key Points to Retain Your Audience
Once you've reeled in your audience with a captivating hook, it's important we retain them. And to do that you need to map out your key points. Don't leave this to chance; plan your content strategically. What are the essential messages you want to convey? What are the key takeaways for your audience? How will you keep them engaged throughout the entire video? By mapping out these key points, you ensure that your video remains focused and delivers value without wandering off course.
S - Sum Up Your Message and Inspire Action
Lastly, you’re going to sum up your message and inspire action. As your video draws to a close, you don't want to leave your audience hanging. Deliver on the promises made in your hook and throughout the video. Summarize your message, reiterate its importance, and most importantly, inspire action. Whether it's a call to visit your website, subscribe, or share the video, make it clear and easy for your viewers to take that next step. (Note: You do NOT need a direct CTA with every video)
Here are some additional practical tips for creating engaging social media videos
1. Keep It Fresh and Unique
2. Harness the Power of Editing
3. Front-Load Creativity

If I lost all of my followers on LinkedIn
Had 0 presence or brand there
And was tasked with building it all back up again, as fast as I possibly could…
This is EXACTLY what I would do!
FIRST: I’d go into it with this mentality….
I’m going on LinkedIn to win customers or at minimum set up meetings in the first 30 to 60 days. I’m not waiting for my brand to build or for me to get traction with content, I’m going to start social selling and creating opportunities day one! (I’ll show you how to do that later 😁)
Now as I’m creating these short term wins, I’d also be focused on creating the type of content that builds brand and attracts my dream clients for months and years to come. That way I can slowly go from the hunter to the hunted 😎
And here’s the 4 step process I would use to accomplish all of this…
Step 1: Decode the LinkedIn Algorithm
Look, there’s no way you’re going to “Game the LinkedIn algorithm” but what you can do is understand the landscape, the people there, and yes, how the LinkedIn algorithm tends to distribute content. Picture LinkedIn as a marketplace, hosting a staggering 63+ million companies – it's a B2B hub teeming with potential connections and opportunities. To succeed here, you need to know the terrain and make the most of it. It's important to note that LinkedIn is a social-graph algo, as opposed to an interest-based algo like TikTok, Reels, etc.
Step 2: Create a Client Attracting Profile
Your LinkedIn profile isn't just a digital business card; it's your brand's face to the world. Craft a compelling headline, banner, and about section that speaks to your audience's needs. This isn't about listing your achievements; it's about showcasing how you can solve their problems, and how you’ve done it many times before (With social proof)
Step 3: The Core Four Strategy – The secret to booking meetings on LinkedIn the first 30-60 days on the platform
Here’s the gist of it:
Search: Use sales navigator to drill down by job title, industry, location, activity on LinkedIn, etc.
Engage: Engage with target customers content daily
Connect: Connect with those same people now because you have context
Message: Send them value-based personalized video DMs (Or audio/text) and start booking meetings!
Step 4: Creating LinkedIn Content That Converts
Your content is your voice on LinkedIn. It’s like you being on stage delivering that keynote. Share eye-catching image posts with stories or short, impactful videos. Address the challenges your audience faces, and offer insights that showcase how you can provide solutions. Edutainment content is still VERY underutilized and underrated on that platform. Capitalize on that!

Looking for a proven video content strategy that you can implement TODAY? You just found it!
In this video, I've got less than 8 minutes to run you through my entire video content strategy, front to back. This same strategy has helped my clients and I generate millions of dollars in revenue, build world class brands, land paid speaking gigs, and transform our social media presence into revenue generating channels.
Here we go!
🎯 Step 1: Define Your Purpose and Goals
Contrary to popular belief, the goal of your video content is NOT to bring “Awareness” to your company. It’s not to “Schedule more calls”. It goes so much deeper than that. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about right now then I would say watching this video is not an option…it’s a MUST
🎯 Step 2: Dive into Audience/Customer Insights
When you hear this chances are you’ll nod your head and say, “Yeah I know Alex, I need to know my customer.” You’d agree this makes sense. But yet you’re not talking to customers about WHY they buy from you. HOW they buy. You’re not talking to prospects and getting curious around what their buyer journey was like by time they got to you. This is not fancy marketing lingo that sounds good, this can make or break a video content strategy!
🎯 Step 3: Establish Pillar Content and Channels
Simply put: What are you going to talk about and where will you talk about it. And if you want to become a top brand in your industry, pillar content is your secret weapon. Align it with your expertise and what your audience needs. Once you got that down, you’ve gotta make sure you’re building on the RIGHT channels, both on and off social media. Owned and rented land.
🎯 Step 4: Align Your Home Bases
Now, it's time to guide your audience to action. Your home bases (website, social media profiles, content channels) need to be optimized for conversion. Show, don't tell! Share social proof, testimonials, and clear messaging that encourages them to engage, inquire, and ultimately, choose you.
🎯 Step 5: Create a Seamless Content Process, System, and Workflow
Consistency is king, and a solid content process is how you do it. We're pulling back the curtain on what goes on behind the scenes to ensure your content production and distribution is streamlined and efficient. Having a process where raw video comes in one side, and ready to posted video content comes out the other side (With as little involvement from you as possible), that’s the game! :)

Transforming your videos from amateur looking, to highly creative and engaging, requires a skilled video editor, but the question is:
-Where do you find one?
-How do you screen for the right person?
-And is it possible to have AI do the editing for you?
I break down all of this and walk through my 5 steps to hiring an ELITE video editor! Here they are!
Step 1: Define Your Needs
Before you start your search, clarify your expectations. Are you looking for someone to film, curate, and/or edit? Know your video editor's role, skills, and software proficiency.
Step 2: Determine Work Arrangement
Choose between in-house, offshore, or outsourced options. In-house offers seamless integration but comes at a higher cost typically. Freelancing can save money, but time zones, commitment issues, and communication barriers may arise. And offshore can also be a legit option if you’re willing to do what it takes to hire the right person and train them.
Step 3: Source Talent
Consider sources like LinkedIn, referrals, and job boards. Platforms like Upwork and Fiverr are good if you are going the freelancer route too.
Step 4: Evaluate and Screen
Engage in conversations to assess alignment with your goals and values. Gauge their technical skills, creativity, and mindset. Request sample reels and potentially a test video to verify their capabilities.
Step 5: Onboarding and Development
Support your video editor's success by providing clear playbooks, guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure they're equipped to excel in your team.
Remember, AI tools are invaluable for efficiency, but human creativity and critical thinking can't be replaced. The synergy between AI and human editors will elevate your content to new heights.

So you’re creating all this content now, but the only problem is, it’s not getting seen by the right audience!
Well, fear not, because I got you covered with today's video on content distribution! I’m gonna show you the 4 ways to guarantee your content gets seen by the right audience, your customers!
Here they are… (In no particular order)
1.) Paid Ads: Yes, paid advertising is an option, but most of what I teach here are the organic methods, so hang tight. Still, paid ads can give you a quick boost in visibility by targeting specific audiences based on demographics and interests. Be cautious of this though, as it won’t build long term brand like a great organic strategy will. As soon as you turn off the paid ads, poof! You disappear.
2.) Quality Organic Content on the Right Channels: I’m talking NICHE content that’s well made, and makes your customer aware of the problem you solve for, and helps them understand how to solve it. And you’ve got to understand how each platform prioritizes and distributes content.
Seems simple, but when this is done right, and consistently, this is the absolute best way to distribute content.
-Learn the nuances of the platform -Understand what matters, what doesn’t -Create niche content daily/weekly -Use the right keywords and hashtags -And more!
3.) Repurpose Your Content: Why settle for one video when you can squeeze a ton more value out of it? Learning how to make 5-10 pieces of content from one is a great way to distribute your content to more of your people!
4.) Shareable Content: This is any type of content that you can proactively share with your target audience without relying on an algorithm. This includes things like: A newsletter, videos and guides your sales team shares, content to share at events, your own content library, etc.
Start using this distribution strategy and watch your content spread like wild fire! 🔥

In 2016 I was embarrassed to make video content 🫣
(Most people don’t know this part of my story)
At the time I was working in B2B sales and thought video could be a great way to educate and build trust with prospects/customers (And win clients 😊)
I was so embarrassed to make videos I would come into the office on Saturdays to record them🤫
I posted them on youtube and would send them out via email to prospects/customers
Some liked the videos
Others said “Please take me off your list” lol
One day we had an all office meeting and someone made a joke about “Alex making videos on YouTube”
My face turned red and I wanted to hide under my desk.🫣
After seeing no results, having no real strategy, and catching some flack for it, I stopped making the videos.
Flash forward to late 2019/early 2020 and I started making videos again on LinkedIn, this time it was edu-tainment
This time I stuck with it
This time they converted to clients
This time I did something with it
I learned the ins and outs of LinkedIn and video and started a business teaching other companies how to do it.
A few months later I had built a brand and a business to the point where financially I was able to quit my six figure corporate sales job and run my business full time. 🤯
Most of you know how the rest is playing out currently 😎🚀
But what changed? How was I able to overcome the fear of getting on camera and creating content?
How did I go from embarrassed to make videos, to one of LinkedIns top video creators? That’s the real questions here.
I tell the whole story in this video and share what really changed for me, so that you can learn from it too, and hopefully make that change.
If you’re struggling with getting past your fears/insecurities right now and are tired of hearing people say “who cares what people think” or “you just gotta get over it and post” this video will hit you in the soul and may even be the thing to get you past your fears.

If you're solely relying on social media platforms to build your brand and distribute your content, you're vulnerable to the ever-changing nature of these platforms. You’ve seen it happen plenty of times too
📲The algorithms change
📲The organic reach fluctuates
📲Platforms come and go
And while you DO want to be posting on social media and taking advantage of the opportunities there, you also want to be building off of social media and on OWNED land.
Which is why today I am showing you the step by step process on how to build your own content library!
Why would you want to build a content library?
First and foremost, it provides you with a secure foundation on your own land. You're no longer at the mercy of social media platforms. Additionally, your content library becomes a hub for searchable content, SEO based content, attracting potential customers who are actively seeking valuable information and doing research.
And here’s the best part…the content you create for your library can and will be repurposed for various feed-based platforms such as LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube shorts, Instagram, etc.. This allows you to extend your reach and engage with audiences across different platforms.
By following my consistent blueprint, you'll have fresh content entering your library every week, providing you with endless opportunities for repurposing and distributing valuable content.
Building a content library also establishes a routine and pattern for your content creation efforts. Consistency is key in content marketing, and having a rhythm in creating content helps you stay on track and deliver value to your audience consistently.
Now, let's dive into the five-step process to build your content library:
Step 1: Start with a long-form video that you create once/week. This video serves as the foundation of your library and will allow you to repurpose to multiple different types of content later (On and off social). Research the topic, titles, thumbnails, etc. and in many cases you’ll want to ensure it aligns with something your customer would be searching for.
Step 2: Take the video and transcribe it using Descript. Take the transcription and use Chat GPT to create both a well written blog and newsletter.
Step 3: Chop up the long form video into short form clips. These video clips will be edited and repurposed for platforms like LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube shorts, etc.
Step 4: Create a dedicated section on your website called the "Content Library." This section provides easy access to all your valuable content, including videos, text, and opportunities for visitors to opt into your newsletter. Place your weekly long form video and blog post here (We use thumbnails too)
Step 5: Offer your audience an option to subscribe to your newsletter (At the top of the content library) so they can have this content sent directly to their inbox when it’s live.
Boom! You now gotta content library that feeds your entire content strategy, every single week, on and off social media 😁

You ever wonder how all of the top creators and brands repurpose so much video content?
How they get millions of views, grow their followers, and win new clients by simply repurposing existing videos?
I’ll tell you the secret…
Because it’s not random. It’s not, “Hey let’s dig up some old long from videos and see if we can repurpose some of the content” 🙄
No.
Instead, they’ve got a system, SOPs, automation, and potentially a small team to make it all work smoothly.
Let’s dive into it!
Understanding the Basics of Content Repurposing:
Before we dive into the strategies, let's clarify what content repurposing entails. It involves taking your existing video content and transforming it into different formats or segments that can be shared across various platforms. Repurposing is NOT the same as reposting or remixing content; it's about extracting the most value from your original video by leveraging its core message and repackaging it in compelling ways.
Key Principles for Successful Content Repurposing:
To make the most of your video assets, consider the following principles:
A. Planning and Recording:
When creating your video content, it's important to think ahead and consider the entire lifecycle of the video content. This means capturing footage that can be repurposed for different platforms and formats (Horizontal and vertical for example). Think about embedding hooks and creating standout moments during recording that can be used as standalone teasers or valuable snippets later on. By planning for repurposing from the start, you'll save time and effort in the long run.
B. Streamlining the Repurposing Process:
To maintain an efficient workflow, centralize your content archive using platforms like Google Drive or Dropbox. This allows easy access and retrieval of video assets whenever needed. And then leverage project management tools like Trello or ClickUp to track raw content, content in progress, ready to review content, and ready to be posted content. And be sure to automate repetitive tasks as much as you possibly can using tools like Zapier! This will require some work on the front end, but will save you a TON of time, effort, and energy on the backend!
C. Building an Effective Team:
Content repurposing is a collaborative effort. Now I am NOT saying you need some big team here, but at minimum you need someone who is going to manage all of the content and/or do the editing. If you have limited resources, consider outsourcing certain roles to professionals who specialize in content repurposing or utilizing AI tools and more automation to reduce time and friction in the process.
BONUS TIP: Start looking into AI video tools like Opus Clip, Descript, Runway, Frame.io and others to help save time and create efficiencies while you repurpose.
Content repurposing is a strategy that can revolutionize your video marketing efforts. By implementing these strategies and principles, you can unlock the power of your video assets and extend their lifespan far beyond their initial release. Don't let your videos gather dust – repurpose them, reach a wider audience, amplify your message, and win more of your dream clients over!

Why?
Because it combines your two favorite types of content: Education and entertainment. You learn while you’re entertained.
Having done edutainment videos for years now, I get alot of questions about edutainment. Things like:
-Can everyone do it?
-Will I look unprofessional doing it?
-What’s the right balance of education and entertainment?
Which is why I decided to answer all of these questions and more….and then SHOW you how rio create edutainment video content.
Because literally NOONE on planet earth is teaching this stuff! Until now 😁
Now one thing you have to understand about edutainment is that there’s levels to this, like anything.
Below is the breakdown of each level, but in the video, I go way more in depth and I actually give real life examples :)
💡 Level 1 Edutainment: Elevate Your Delivery
At the entry level, we show you how to transform your content by changing up your delivery. You’ll learn how small adjustments in angles, gestures, and visuals can make a big impact on audience engagement.
💡 Level 1.5 Edutainment: The Sprinkle Method
This is one of the most impactful and simplest edutainment moves you can make! And it’s just like it sounds: Sprinkling entertainment throughout your videos in small doses. Breaking up your content with moments of humor, surprises, or unexpected twists keep your viewers entertained and invested.
💡 Level 2 Edutainment: Advanced Storytelling Techniques
Explore the possibilities of vlog-style videos and behind-the-scenes content that takes your audience on a journey. This is also the level where we get into skit videos and learn how to create engaging narratives using simple tools like your smartphone. We'll also emphasize the importance of aligning your message with your creative concept to ensure a meaningful impact.
💡 Level 3 Edutainment: Lights, Camera, Action!
If you’re ready to take your edutainment to the next level….this is it. In Level 3, we discuss full-scale production techniques that involve scene changes, green screens, and scripted stories.
Whether you're a solopreneur, marketer, CEO, or business owner, edutainment can revolutionize your content strategy. Don't miss out on the opportunity to educate, inspire, and entertain your audience while driving real business results. Watch the video now and unleash the power of edutainment! 🤩

Short-form video has become the fastest and most effective way to build a brand and business online. Think about it, it allows you to reach millions of potential customers, you’ve got “Viral” potential with every video, and it’s relatively easy to create and distribute across most major platforms.
The challenge? Most businesses haven’t figured out how to make it work for their business.
They either go too entertaining and meaningless. Or they go ultra business-y and boring and it flops. Today, you learn how to make effective short form video content that drives business results! Let’s get into it.
First of all, to create compelling short-form video content, you don't need fancy equipment. A smartphone with a good camera is sufficient, although a tripod and a quality microphone are recommended (Comica and MOVO are two of my favs). The length of the video should generally be between 20 seconds to 60 seconds, but longer videos can also perform well if they are engaging. It’s easier to START here though.
When it comes to the type of content, you can create educational, inspirational, entertaining, or edutainment videos. It's important to grab the viewers' attention within the first few seconds and provide value or entertainment throughout the video. Remember, these videos are going in feed based platforms like LinkedIn, TikTok, and Youtube Shorts so you can’t waste a single second.
Original content is recommended when starting on a new platform, but repurposing clips from long-form videos or podcasts can also be effective. By original content, I mean you create a short form video from scratch using the G.E.M.S. framework below. Why? Because creating from scratch allows you to be much more intentional, you can add in creative hooks, and you’ve the ability to adjust your message and creativity as needed. I do love repurposing though, because short-form videos can help bring viewers to your long-form content, creating a relationship between the two. :)
In terms of editing, the message and delivery are more important than fancy editing techniques. However, changing something in the scene every few seconds can help keep the viewers engaged. Adding graphics, animations, or text that enhance the message or story can also be effective. Ever notice what the elite short form video creators do? They change something up every 2 to 3 to 4 seconds or so. Could be a zoom in, zoom out, animation, text popping up, scene change, b roll, etc. This is done on purpose and keeps the audience engaged!
I mentioned the G.E.M.S framework earlier as a guide to helping you create high performing short form video content. In reality, this applies to long form too! Here is it!
The GEMS framework:

LinkedIn has quietly become the most powerful social media platform for businesses. The organic reach is through the roof, the clients are there, the talent is there, and it’s the largest business community on planet earth!
However, most companies are still struggling with how to get results there. Which is why I created the Ultimate LinkedIn Strategy. It’s one you’ve never seen before either. Whether you’re new to the platform, or you’ve been on LinkedIn for years and want to take things to the next level, this video is for you!
In order to win on LinkedIn, you have to start viewing it as not just as a social media platform, but as an ongoing, engaging conference for business professionals. By drawing a parallel between LinkedIn and a live event, we can simplify the platform and develop effective strategies for building your business.
I call this the 4 C’s of LinkedIn….
1.) Your CONTENT is your keynote speech Creating compelling content is akin to delivering a keynote speech on the LinkedIn stage. We explore different types of content that work well on LinkedIn, including vertical videos, picture posts with captivating stories, text posts, polls, and carousels. Additionally, we emphasize the importance of well-crafted copy that hooks the audience and complements your videos.
2.) Your COMMENTS are the public conversations you have Engaging with the LinkedIn community through comments is comparable to participating in conversations at a live event. We delve into the significance of commenting on your own content to encourage engagement, generate leads, and gather insights for future content creation. Furthermore, we discuss the importance of commenting on other people's content, both from regular content creators and potential customers, to expand your reach and establish meaningful connections.
3.) CONNECTING and MESSAGING are the private conversations LinkedIn offers the opportunity to connect and message individuals, fostering private and intimate conversations similar to those at an in-person event. We outline the "Core Four" strategy, which involves identifying ideal clients, engaging with their content, sending personalized connection requests, and initiating conversations through video or audio messages, or traditional text. The emphasis is on building relationships rather than spamming prospects with sales pitches.
4.) A COMPELLING Profile is like your modern day business card Your LinkedIn profile serves as a modern-day business card, providing prospects with a snapshot of your professional identity. We offer three key tips for optimizing your profile: clarify your expertise, clearly define your target audience, and highlight your unique value proposition. By effectively communicating who you are, whom you serve, and why you stand out, you can transform your profile into a magnet for potential clients.
Remember, it's not just about posting content, but also engaging in meaningful conversations, connecting with the right people, and presenting a compelling profile. Embrace this LinkedIn strategy, and unlock the power of this thriving platform for your business.

You probably know that you should be posting video content right now but there's something holding you back...
And let's keep it real
It's not the tech
It's not that you don't have the right microphone
It's not that "You don't have time" 🙄
9 times out of 10 these are simply excuses that mask some type of insecurity. You might be thinking things like:
-What if I look silly?
-What will my colleagues say if they see me on video?
-What if the video doesn't perform?
-What people don't like it and I get negative comments?
-Who am I to start making videos anyways?
Now the good news for you is that every creator on earth has already been through this. And to some extent, we still go through it, just in different ways.
Take for example Rem Ortega. She lives in the Philippines and went through the exact same thing before starting to post video, which led to her starting her own business, finding her voice, and winning customers through her content. That is the power of video IF you don't get in your own way.
I sat down with Rem while I was in the Philippines visiting my team and she blew me away with her story and how she overcame these challenges.
She lives in a third world country with not as many opportunties as there are here in the US. Yet she found a way to make it happen. She's an inspiration to us all. https://www.instagram.com/rem_ortega_/

If you haven’t automated your content process yet, you are literally throwing your valuable time out the window.
By the end of reading this, I’m going to show you exactly how to automate your content, and calculate how much time/money it really saves you
Let’s use this simple workflow to illustrate how this works…
Step 1.) You set up a Trello or project management tool to manage all of your content between you and your team
Step 2.) The automation begins. Every time you drop a new “Raw video” file into your Gdrive or Dropbox, it automatically creates a new task inside of your project management tool (Via the tool itself or using something like Zapier)
Step 3.) Once the video is completed it is moved into a “Completed and Archived Content” folder in your project management tool (Simply slide the card over it’s easy). Once this this happens, it triggers another automation that places that completed content into an archive folder and organizes it by topic, created date, etc.
Step 4.) Now at any point in time you can go back and easily search for content you’ve already created (The video and the copy). Not sure what to post about or have no new content ready? No worries, easily go through your archive list and snatch something up to post!
Step 5.) Imagine by doing all of this you get back an additional hour per week. That’s time with family, time with your team, time doing whatever you want to do! But imagine your hourly rate is 500/hr. That’s $26,000 you just got back in your year but simply working SMARTER!
Step 6.) Watch/listen to the full podcast/YouTube episode where Irit Levi breaks down ALL of this and much much more!

LinkedIn ads: Worth the spend or a waste of money?
I’m not gonna lie, I was a little skeptical of performance based marketing such as LinkedIn ads.
I’ve seen and heard about a lot of companies spending ALOT of money on their LinkedIn ads and then getting absolutely 0 in return
To be fair, a lot of this is because they don’t have the right campaign, audience, and/or creative
I had the pleasure of speaking to Justin Rowe, the founder and CMO of Impactable (One of the premier LinkedIn ad agencies) and as you can imagine I had a TON of questions for him! Things like:
-Who are LinkedIn ads for?
-How do you set up a successful campaign?
-How long should it take to see an ROI on your investment?
-What is the biggest reasons LinkedIn ads fail?
-Is it more about the creative (Content) or the way the campaign and audience are set up?
And Justin answered ALL of them and went a couple layers deeper!
If you are even remotely curious about LinkedIn ads, or are using them currently, this is a must watch/listen!

Here’s how brand actually works…
The other day my computer (Macbook pro) wouldn’t turn on. I googled, I YouTubed, and no solution. (Notice the first thing I did was turn to content for answers?)
So, after trying a few things myself, I took it to the place I bought it (Best Buy) and they said they would have to ship it out for 2-4 weeks to get it repaired since it wouldn’t even turn on.
I am traveling and have a ton of events coming up in the next few weeks so that wouldn’t work. Plus, the repairs would likely be hundreds of dollars and at this point, so it made more sense to just buy a new one.
There was no hesitation to what brand I would buy from. I considered only one….Apple.
Why?
BRAND
I see them as innovative, customer focused, and they make me feel like I’ve got the best tech in the room when I’m operating them. They also have a ridiculously good operating system and integrate with other devices.
They have done a MASTERFUL job at building brand.
So, you could imagine how excited I was to have Jason Vana (Brand Expert) on our most recent episode of the Brand in Demand Show!
In case your curious, here’s the definition he used to define brand:
“The gut feeling someone has about you, your product/service, and your company”
In this episode, Jason lays out the exact framework to BUILD your brand as well, so check it out now!

In todays episode, I show you the step by step video strategy that my clients and I use to turn video views and engagement into paid customers!
I call it the V4 video content strategy and here is the breakdown!
V: Vision and Alignment
1.) Customer Insights/Ideation
2.) Content Channels and Mediums
3.) Creation and Distribution Process/Team
4.) Collect Data and Optimize Performance
Vision/Alignment: This is where it all begins. If you are not clear here, good luck trying to turn your content into customers/revenue
Here’s a quick test to see if you really have this…..
Ask yourself this question: WHO do you want to become in your industry? (What do you want to be known for?)
Example for us: We want to be the most trusted and innovative video content brand in our industry.
Our unique point of view is that we believe companies can educate and build trust, WHILE they entertain (Edutainment). We show people that B2B content can be deep, creative, educational, and FUN! This is our WHY, this is our purpose, and by helping people see this and execute on it, we drive business and results
1.) Customer Insights/Ideation: Every topic or subject we come up with ultimately originates from our customers and/or our unique point of view I mentioned above
2.) Content Channels and Mediums: We chose LinkedIn, TikTok, and added Youtube/Podcast to be the dominant channels. Long form + short form = Unstoppable combo
3.) Creation and Distribution Process/Team: We use Trello to manage our content process and it makes creating content consistently, look easy. I have team members that handle all of my editing needs so I can focus my time creating the content, and running the biz 😎
4.) Collect Data and Optimize Performance: We track where inbound leads come from, evaluate performance, create series from high performing videos (See Mondays video) and ALWAYS look to improve and innovate

So….you’re content is not working and you don’t know why 😩
You were told it would help you build brand and attract your customers, but it’s not
It’s one of the worst feelings, especially when you’ve been putting a lot of time and effort into it
Luckily for you, Todd Clauser and I just laid out the blueprint to creating content that converts. And exactly where to look and what to do if it’s not working
Here is just part of the framework we covered in this week's episode of Brand in Demand
1.) Be able to clearly articulate the PURPOSE of your content. If you can’t do this, chances are, you’re not going to get the results you want.
Hint: It’s not just to get “Attention” or “Generate a lead”. It goes much deeper than that.
2.) Pay close attention to the indicators of content success. In the first 60 days you want to look for positive feedback from your target audience (Customer). This is the qualitative data that will lead to the quantitative data and business results later on
3.) If your content is not working, identify whether it is a strategic issue or a tactical issue and make the right adjustments
This, and soooooo much more in the full episode below
WARNING: There is a blooper scene about half way in that will probably have you laughing🤣 We kept it in there for some edutainment. 😉

You ever wondered what it really "Costs" to post video content daily like you see a lot of creators do? You're about to find out!
"Organic content" doesn't mean it's free content. Sure, they don't charge you to post on the social channels but it still costs time and/or money to create and distribute it.
Now, we, like many companies who have used video content to grow their business, would refer to it as an investment not a cost. But whatever you call it, here is what we cover in this episode
1.) Your time and how much you need to dedicate to it
2.) Video Editing/Post Production. I lay out pretty much every option you can think of from self-editing and using software/tools, to freelancing on Upwork/Fiverr, to agencies, to hiring internally.
3.) The distribution and posting of the content (Content/Social Media Management)

You’ll have to watch to see who wins but as I made this “Edu-tainment” video, I documented the entire (Behind the scenes) process, which is something I’ve never done in the past. I went through all of the following and more in this video…
-The concept
-The script
-The equipment I use
-The filming process
-The post production
And I put it all out there for you to see and learn from.
If you’re considering upping your video content game, or creating edu-tainment videos in the future, this is a must watch!

The top three reasons that companies fail with their content...
1.) They lack a clear content strategy or purpose. Get alignment with leadership and make sure what you are putting out there supports your objectives and goals (Winging it will not work)
2.) They put themselves in a creative box. Sure, you need a structure, you need a strategy, but you also need creativity and the ability to test and try new things to figure out what's going to work best. That new content idea that kinda scares you a little bit because noone else would dare do it....DO IT! (Assuming it aligns with your strategy/goals :)
3.) Due to 1 and 2, they fail to build a team and or a workflow or process around it so they can't stay consistent with their content. The key to winning customers, building brand, and going viral is NOT some magical hack. It's being able to put out quality content (That serves your customers) daily/weekly. THAT is the real "Secret"
I go into all of the tactical stuff in this episode so what are you waiting for, dive in! :)

A recession is the BEST time to build your personal brand
Think about what happened the last time we had an economic downturn (The pandemic)
Did people start consuming more content or less?
MORE
Did entertainment and edu-tainment become more important or less
MORE
It’s really as simple as this: While people may be more conservative in their spending habits, they will still spend the same, if not more time, on social media and consuming content.
They will spend more time watching and listening to long form content like podcasts, shows, netflix, etc.
And when thing are uncertain and maybe a little chaotic, how good does it feel to smile and laugh, and be entertained?
Please listen to me when I tell you…..the next 12 months will be the absolute BEST time to create content and build equity in your personal and company brand
Get clear on you content strategy
Understand WHY you are creating content and WHO it’s for
Build the process and workflow so consistency becomes second nature
I’m telling ya, you’ll thank yourself in 12 months!

Edu-Tainment style content is on the rise and has become some of the highest performing videos on social media.
What is edutainment? Education + Entertainment = Edu-tainment.
Cool, and WHY does this style of content works so well? 👇
1.) It’s the fastest way to breakthrough on social, whether that's LinkedIn, Tiktok, Instagram, etc. Almost everyone is posting tips, tricks, and advice but very few have learned the art of entertaining as you do it. It allows you to create better hooks and more engaging messages throughout the video.
2.) It creates strong buy in and followership because you are emotionally connecting with your audience when you make them smile, laugh, or cry.
3.) It convert incredibly well if done right because think about the message you’re sending to a potential customer. (You’re an expert in your space, you’re creative, and you’d be really fun to work with!)
In this podcast/live event I broke down EXACTLY how you can start making these by category.
-Beginner
-Intermediate
-Advanced
ANYONE….and I mean ANYONE can create these with the way I teach these. I’ve made hundreds of edu-tainment videos the past 3 years and one of my goals was to dumb this down and simplify this process so edu-tainment creation could be done by just about anyone :) #edutainment #videocontent #contentstrategy #alexsheridan #videomarketing

Look, it’s no secret, we are in a recession (Oct 2022)
Is it going to get better or worse from here, that’s not for me to say
But one thing I know for certain is that the companies producing content and building legitimate BRANDS right now, are going to be the ones who thrive during this time. And LinkedIn is one of the best places to do it (If you're B2B)
Think about it….
A recession hits and spending comes to a temporary halt
Buyers stop taking as many calls with salespeople
But do people stop scrolling the LinkedIn feed?
TikTok?
Do they stop consuming content?
Do they stop listening to Youtube videos and podcasts?
Heck no. They probably consume MORE content during this time (That’s what we saw during the pandemic)
Many of our inbound leads (Through content) watch our videos and consume our content for months at a time before reaching out, scheduling a meeting, and becoming a customer
That is what content does
And that’s why, with a looming recession, you need to start this process NOW
Because you want to be the door they are knocking on when it’s time to buy
We talked about alot in this weeks live/podcast!
Things like…
👉The type of content you need to create to convert
👉How to clarify your brand and messaging
👉How the LinkedIn algorithm has changed
👉Why being surgical and strategic on LinkedIn is key to winning customers
