This is probably my last piece of content from my trip to Austria I took recently. It's footage I captured on the journey back home with my dad after a short trip to a small town near his place. For more pictures of this place, check out my post "A Grain of Grein."
Maybe you'll enjoy them, maybe not...
I really liked the place and vowed to return to Austria this summer for another visit. Perhaps then we'll stumble upon that bar near the Danube shore, open for us to spend some time enjoying a beer or something.
During my brief stay, the weather was decent for this time of year, although nothing exceptional. It wasn't too cold, but definitely not spring-like either.
I particularly enjoyed the winding roads we traversed. We have a similar one here with the Danube on one side and various places and hills on the other. The key difference is that the roads in Austria are of much better quality.
The poor quality roads here are, in my opinion, a major cause of car crashes. Some drivers go too slow, leading others to overtake them. Some are not cautious enough, resulting in car crashes, and unfortunately, some of these accidents end in casualties.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this short clip and the views from the part of Austria I visited. Until next time, have a great weekend, folks, and Hive on.

It's been a while since I had my last post on @3speak and today is all about an unexpected storm...
Usually when there's too much heat a storm might be around the corner, like the current one we have. It's still in full swing as I'm typing down this post at a pizzeria near by.
So, the pizza is about to come... Wasn't planning for a cheat meal today but since the rain caught me here and I'm hungry I gave in to the temptation.
Anyway, time to eat now. I hope you all have a great day and see you next time.

A fishing experience came out of nowhere today. A couple of friends of mine who own a guest house by the lake invited me to go fishing at them and I couldn't say no.
It's been probably a couple of years since I've done that and it took a while until I packed my gear.
Before even started fishing we got ourselves some guests: this cute family of ducks. The mother was leading the way and the ducklings followed the path.
Now it's raining and my fishing day is almost over. It was nice though. Will probably come later with a liketu post with the catch. Till then, have a great day and see you next time.

Sunday while being at the barbecue at my friends guest house one of their neighbors accidentally caught a beaver...
What a buthead, right?
He first thought he hit a "giant catfish" but when he got to the end of the line he found this little guy.
He took it out of the water and brought it to my friends old deck so we can see him as well. We took a bunch of photos of him and let him rest for a while.
One of us sent the footage to some local new Facebook page and according to the moderator it seems that the area has recently been inhabitated with this particular species.
The little guy went to the water after got his rest from all the drama he went through. I do remember though that I've others like this one on the lake about four years ago.
He's not that new to me. Oh, before logging out will have to mention the guy was not aggressive at all, despite what we thought of it.
Have a nice day, peeps, and see ya all next time.

I recently saw @theycallmedan invitation on Hive for hivers to try out the new 3Speak app. I just installed it and thought I should give it a try with this short clip that I took from my mountain trip last week. It's a bit noisy so turn the volume down. The views are magnificent though. I hope you like it.
This is all from my side for now. I hope the app works well and promise to upload more content in the future. Have a great Sunday and see you later.

I had a few photography posts lately from a boat trip that I took in the area recently and as much as I love snapping pics, sometimes the best way to capture moments is by recording them.
I took a video at that time as well. As we left from "Tabula Trajana" to Decebalus Rex rock sculpture I recorded the whole time and here's the final product.
Mixed with some proper music and hope you will like it. I ha e lived in the area for basically my whole life, but can't have enough of it. Enjoy!

What a beautiful day we had in this part of the world... Sun, about 33 degrees Celsius and plenty of good vibes.
I haven't went with the boat much lately, but today couldn't resist the offer and went with a friend "down the old road" Decebalus Rex sculpture.
The footage is raw and uncut and hope you like will like it. Have a great day.

It's been close to five years since I got back to my hometown after wandering around for a few years and I can't get enough of it.
Yes, it's a small town in Romania, it's somehow degrading for decades, but the view is splendid.
Today was the first time I went on q ride with a boat for this year and I had to say it was nice. I didn't think I would miss it, but I actually did. While "having a spin" on the lake I took a short video to share with you. Hope you like it.

The weather has been moody today. It was pretty hot in the morning but close to midday it got colder and colder and the wind started blowing strong. Quite huge waves for pur lake have formed and we're probably gonna have a storm this day. That's what you get with these premature summers. Anyway, I took a footage of the Danube so you got a feeling about what I was talking about. Hope you're having a sunny and better weather in your part of the world.

Summer has taken us by surprise. After a long long winter we finally have some great weather in here. iIt's about 27 degrees Celsius outside and a bit of wind, but nevertheless, great time to spend outside.
While pedalpedaling through the park I thought I should take the smartphone out and record a track in the park that I've been on.
In the start of the video you have a cruise ship leaving the shore. I'd say the weather is perfect for that. Some are even gonna get some tan during this whole time spent on water.
I've got myself some too. Anyway, hope you're having a fantastic Saturday and see you to the next post.

So this is yours truly with the camera phone, his fast bike, good mood and the willing to share a bit of the landscape in here. Was planning on making the post a photography one, but in the end it turned out to be a vlog. My first one. Don't be harsh on me...
Hope everyone is having a great Saturday and see you to the next post.

It's been a while since we had a proper summer rain, or let's call it a summer storm, and today it hit us. It hasn't even been announced by the google almighty and luckily I was at a terrace near by when it all started.
At the shelter of it and having a beer it all seemed nice to witness, but I guess for the ones engaged in a boat cruise or something like that, or the ones seeing their umbrellas put to the ground it wasn't that nice.
I find such weather events as a reset, both environmentally and mentally. Hence I recorded it to show it to you as well. I bet you've seen tons of them but still... why not...
Anyway, hope you're having a great day and wish you a nice weekend ahead!

Another day, another drone footage on your feed. This one is the last from the fishing days we had recently and in this one we managed to catch a cargo ship passing by and recorded it quite closely.
Don't know exactly if that's allowed, but nobody shot us so I guess we're fine with it. As you'll probably see in the video the ship was quite long, I guess over 100 meters in length and it moves very slow on water, comparing with our motorboat, but steady. I honestly would like to spend a few days on such a ship. Don't know why, but curious.
Luckily they always have the same course and although they look like they're coming over you, when anchored, in less than a kilometre they change direction and get to the course of the Danube. Hence we don't have our lines pulled by them... or us drowned...
Our catfish fishing spot was quite close to the E70, an European road that passes near my town, and you'll get to see a bit of it in this video as well. Next up on my drone video series will probably be something in the woods. Will see, but there will be something for sure...
Hope you're having a great day, stay safe and healthy and see you to the next one.

Zoom out so you get the full perspective. A quite valuable piece of advice in crypto, but in online content creation as well, and I as a Hive content creator I'm becoming better and better at mastering the drone, as this seems to be a new niche of posts for me, drone videos.
The drone's not mine, but I get the taste of it more and more, and if crypto booms this year, or the following one, I'll have to get one for myself...
Today I got for you another drone footage, if you haven't got bored yet. This time you'll see our fishing spot and the surroundings, close to the Iron Gates dam, and the vicinity of my hometown.
As always, when recording the Danube you'll get to see the cliffs of the small mountains of both the Romanian ones, and the Serbian, us being close neighbors. It's not too long, so don't rush on skipping through the video.
Hope you like it, have a great day and see you to the next one!

What once used to be a challenging course for cargo ships on their journey towards the Black Sea, sailing the deep and sometimes calm waters of the old Danube, is now a majestic place to be and cross through, an important touristic attraction in the area and one of my favorite places in Romania.
Although the Danube is of about 2,850 kilometres in length, its ties and turns, surrounding cliffs, and depth are not the same everywhere. In some places it looks like a gentle water stream, in others has formed gorgeous waterfalls and in the Danube's Boilers area, the water gets to 120 meters deep and the currents that are forming are strong enough to spin your boat in circles if you turn off your engine.
The location were this footage was taken is near the village called Dubova, in the South-West of Romania, where the tightest point between the borders of Serbia in Romania marks the small entrance into the Dnube's Boilers. We're talking about 230 meters between the two rocky shores, and as I said, a strong water current.
The water level wasn't that high and the depth wasn't the same either, some fifty years ago, before the construction of the Iron Gates, which is an artificially built dam designed to produce electricity. Back in the days, before the construction of the dam, cargo ships traffic was a nightmare through this area and sometimes took up to 40 hours to a giant one to pass through this devil's gate, and involved trains pulling the ships and also the help of the locals.
Where does the name of the Danube's Boilers comes from?
From the boiling effect that the water had, and sometimes is to be seen these days as well, from the stream of the water hitting the shore's rocks. Creating such strong currents and vortexes the locals named the area The Danube's Boilers, due to that boiling effect.
Nowadays cargo ships are way better equipped, the water level is higher and theres basically no challenge at all to pass through the area. During spring and summer it's flooded by passenger boats* that carry tens of thousands of tourists eager to visit the attractions that the area has to offer.
In this video we recorded the sightings, above the cliffs at about 400 meters from water lever, and it's close surroundings. The drone has been lifted from the Romanian shore, but you can clearly see at the beginning of the video on the left side, the Serbian shore, and throughout the video you will have the chance to have a glimpse of the gorgeous landscape around here. Hope you will like it.
Credits for the soundtrack go to Johann Strauss, who dedicated this sweet musical piece for our beloved Danube. Have a great day!

Decebalus (r. 87 – 106 AD) was the last king of Dacia. He is famous for fighting three wars, with varying success, against the Roman Empire under two emperors. After raiding south across the Danube, he defeated a Roman invasion in the reign of Domitian, securing a period of independence during which Decebalus consolidated his rule.

The rock sculpture that is the subject of my footage, in this post today, is dedicated to the Dacian King Decebalus Rex, who lived for our land, fought and died for it, in the times when we were called Dacians and this piece of land was named Dacia. In honor of his bravery, Iosif Constantin Dragan, who was a Romanian and Italian businessman, a writer and a historian, decided to dedicate one million dollars out of his almost $850 million fortune to sponsor what we now call the Decebalus Face rock sculpture.
The unfinished masterpiece is about 55 meters high, and it has a 25 meters width. It was designed and orchestrated by Florin Cotarcea, a local of my hometown, and teaming with some 10 mountaineering sculptors it took about ten years to do the job, a lot of effort and dedication being put into it, and many risks being taken while working there. All handcrafted and all at the risk of getting bitten by venomous snakes while hanging on the cliffs at over 30 degrees Celsius and carving with only the chisel and hammer.
The project, as you can see it in the footage, is about 70% finished and the nose and mustache have required a bit of maintenance over time. The reason for abandoning the continuation of the sculpture at this level was the sudden death of its sponsor. He was actually 92 though... His young and beautiful wife didn't pursued in sponsoring further hence we've got left with what you can see right now...
The sight is still considered the main attraction for thousands and thousands of tourists, in this area, and gets visited by them every single day, from early spring to late autumn. I have also, although being somehow a local, visited it tens of times, and lately we've done that with the drone as well.
I have previously posted multiple photos with that area, and with the sculpture, but I have to say that none gets that close to his nose as this footage. I'm perfectly aware that we could have done better in recording this short video, but we're not pros. I hope you guys will like it, and if any question pops out feel free to ask. Have a great day!

I've posted quite a few photos on my blog, with my small little town over the years, and although I know it's a shithole... I like how it looks from above, and I started to like drone type of content as well.
This video was recorded about a week ago or so, and I don't know why I overlooked it for that long. It's a gem though, and watching it makes me feel lucky to be born in here, although sometimes I just feel like leaving again and not looking back for a sec.
Anyway, I have a too strong headache right now to work on a long introduction, hence you can see for yourself what I'm talking about on this @threespeak post. Hope you like it.

I just checked on my @threespeak account and noticed that I have 15 videos uploaded and honestly have never expected to have that many. I'm not too much of a fan of such content, but sometimes I feel like sharing some of my videos with you.
Today I'm uploading a two minutes long video that I took three days ago on my short road trip from which I already posted a bunch of photos while being on the passenger seat.
I took it on the road to Timisoara, one of my favorite cities of Romania, on a twisty area of the track. There are more than just this one that keep you active at the wheel, but that's when I remembered about the record button on my camera and immortalized it.
It's not the best quality, but it's not boring either. Hole you'll like it...

A few days ago I went to fishing, with a few friends, right on the course of the good old Danube where it was supposed to catch some nice catfish, but nature turned around our expectations, and we ended up with just three fish... quite small, after about five hours of fishing.
I, for example, haven't caught anything, and can't call me a lucky person. The day was nice though, we had some beers with us, some snacks, good mood and tons of chit chat. However a fisherman is still a fisherman, and it's a bit frustrating when no damn fish comes near the hook... and eats it.
Having the drone with us though we recorded for a few minutes, and for me, one that hasn't used a drone till a few weeks ago, it's nice to have such videos uploaded on my blog, and I also see a lot of potential in such content.
It really offers a whole different perspective of things and places, but you need to have skills to make miracles. We're not pros, but we did played with it around our boats for a while, and I thought you would like to see where we fished and things look over there.
It would have been nice to have some big cargo ships passing by at that moment, but unfortunately it's just us and the big Danube on the whole footage. Would have been even better if a 20-30 kilo catfish would fill the micro SD memory card, but that one hasn't come either.
A nice experience though, with beautiful surroundings that lead to this footage. Hope you'll like it, and see you to the next one.

It's been a few days since I try uploading this video on @threespeak and due to technical issues that was impossible. Now I'm happy to share with you this drone footage that I got a few days ago with me ridding the jet ski on our lake, and a nice view from above our town.
Hopefully the upgrades of @threespeak will allow viewing this video on good quality. It was recorded on 4k, but compressed to full HD so it won't take too much space. On my laptop looks neat...
Anyway, don't like talking too much lately, so I'll leave you with the video itself rather than bore you with a long meaningless introduction. Just so you know, it was a fun day that day :) Enjoy!
