And here we are with part 2 of our character series on the theme of pain. This time, we are covering the character of Scar from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. But stay tuned as afterwards, one of the Meeches goes rogue over a certain video streaming platform and their “questionable” policies. Here we go!
This world shall know Pain! We have decided that this podcast needed a lesson. To do so, we resurrected an old series: The Character Study. We go over the character of Nagato Uzumaki, better known as Pain, from Naruto Shippuden. We go into his background, where his philosophy comes from, and what he does to achieve said philosophy. Sit down yall! Class is in session.
Unfortunately, we are here to talk about a film universe franchise so divisive, it resurrected an old podcast format. We have taken a cue from the God of Destruction and did a Deconstruction and Reconstruction of Sony's Spider-Man Universe. Some movies left unharmed. Others, not so much. But at the end of the day, remember that it all leads back to Knull.
Today, we talk gaming. Lighting up the bat signal, we recruit the homie Carl, of CDM Games, to join in on the discussion. Then, we put on our GM hats and draft wrestlers to our companies (23:00). Pick Stealing and pettiness ensues before wrapping up on a controversial random fan theory of the week (53:20).
In honor of our the two greatest kaiju of all-time, and our G.O.A.T, we dive into the MonsterVerse (12:15), but not before one of the most unhinged rants in show history related to the banning TikTok (5:30). After managing to reset, we breakdown the four distinct Godzilla Toho Eras and the current American interpretation of it. Transitioning from there, we bring back a favored segment with a monster-themed Make Your Case (46:15).
Blerdizens. You see the title? We had to do it! We had to go and do an entire episode on this topic. But before that, we had to give our appreciation and love to the GOAT of anime/manga, Akira Toriyama (0:15). Then we get into the absolute disaster that was The Day Before. Meech covers the history and inside looks into the studio that created this scam! (10:50). This episode is definitely one to remember and FYI, this podcast is not some kind of scam!
Your eyes and ears do not deceive you! We are back from supposed exile with a new Season and new ways to get canceled! After one Meech realized he was replaced for the Season Finale, he decides to forego the normal Blerd City podcast itinerary and jump right into the review of Dune Part II (2:30)! Afterwards, in celebration of International Women’s Month, we highlight one woman creator and THEN we get the What’s Hot! Remember: we are the Chosen One!
Our Valentine’s Day episode was a big one! After a brief What’s Hot?, we get into some of the biggest simps in all of fandom, ranging from anime, cartoons, and the galaxy of Star Wars. But first, we breakdown what exactly is a simp that leads to a quite stomach-turning definition from one of our hosts. Afterwards, we dive into an extensive mailbag, with questions ranging from our views on Galentine’s Day, who should cover the tab, Galentine’s Day for the bros, among other things. Some answers had us wondering about a specific co-host, but you’ll have to listen to find out why. Finally, we wrap up by giving the legend, Carl Weathers his flowers. Happy Valentine’s Day (or just another Wednesday)!
You read that right. The Fallen Shinigami has returned. With a What’s Hot that transitions into Super Bowl and Swiftie talk, shenanigans ensued immediately (2:50). Next, they get deep as the Shinigami explains his absence (10:50) before we transition into discussion about his upcoming sequel, Phantom Reckoning: A Most Irregular Tale (17:50). And it’s not an episode with the two of us unless we go off the rails, this time talking about the state of superheroes and the controversial PalWorld. Finally, we wrap up with our Black Creator of the Week: Thadd Boii (1:03:05).
It’s good to be back y’all.

SUBARASHI! Splendid! For this exciting episode, we are dipping our toes into the world of anime. We are going into what makes them appealing along with some of the cultural downsides, especially within the nerd-sphere. Then, we deep dive into some of the different genres! We discuss each one, what makes them appealing, and give some recommendations for each genre (as depressing as it gets sometimes), in case any of our listeners want to give anime a fair chance! And as a bonus, you get to hear a fantastic story over our childhoods and a particular card game! Remember, we merely open the door into this rabbithole that is the world of anime, where it takes you is up to you!
It has happened, our dear listeners. Someone tapped into a power…a sinister power. A power that has not been felt since…KENOBI!!!!!!!!!. That’s right! We are reviewing the Disney+ series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. And afterwards, one of the Meeches taps into the Dark side of the Force to give an unforgettable speech about the toxic culture of Star Wars and its fans. Forget episode 2. THIS is the episode one of them goes completely out of pocket! So, get ready! And let’s find out which Meech is on the Light Side and which one is on the Dark Side!
After last week’s shenanigans, the blerds had to get a glow up. Recruiting our good friends, Autumn and Brita, we host our very first guests. With introductions out of the way, the group discusses the evolution of women in nerd culture, and stigmas that need to be overcome. Then, our guests get open about fitting in, despite gatekeeping and various roadblocks before revealing what they believe is next in telling the stories of women. Finally, they give us some interesting theories and we introduce two new segments. Remember, all are welcome in The City.
We tried to be a respectable pod, but we’ve already gotten out of pocket. In our first ever movie review, while discussing Jurassic Kingdom: Dominion, one of the Meeches goes on a legendary rant about reboots and requels. We stumble into a convo about sneaking “contraband” into the movies before accidentally discussing proper kidnapping etiquette, and pondering the merits of dinosaurs in space(!) After correcting the course, Blerd City hands out its first ever movie awards along with our movie rankings. Buckle up and keep your appendages inside at all times because it's about to be a wild, prehistoric ride.
It’s not often that you get to meet your doppelganger. Even less so that you get to do a podcast with them. In our first ever episode, we make the necessary introductions before diving deep into the steady rise of nerd culture along with the stigmas that have been and still need to be overcome. Afterwards, we tell you “What’s Hot” before geeking out, and finally we hand out our first pair of Black Air Forces. Hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed making this episode.
It’s not often that you get to meet your doppelganger. Even less so that you get to do a podcast with them. Meech and Meech presents Blerd City, a journey through the nebula of nerdom, presented from the unique perspective of two people that share the same name. Anime, cartoons, comics, movies, games we got it. Join us as we laugh, but also get deep on this new adventure.
