To end Animated August 2025, we take one last look at Studio Ghibli. The company is synonymous with Hayao Miyazaki for good reasons but today, we will look at one of Studio Ghibli's biggest driving forces; Isao Takahata (1935-2018). A mentor to Miyazaki, Takahata's movies were more experimental and slow-paced, and among his most notable works was the 1994 environmental fantasy movie Pom Poko.
