Hello! I'm Peredur and I play Arkham Horror: the Card Game solo. Do I do well? Mostly: no. Sometimes! But not often.
The aim here is mostly to try weird, fun, bad and/or thematic decks and to mess around with the limits of this wonderful game.
So if you want to see expert play, with pro-moves and clever strategy, this isn't the podcast you want. But if you like the idea of hearing someone play Arkham Horror, badly, listen on!
It's the silver jubilee episode of Arkham Horror, Badly! There is bunting and fireworks in the city of Arkham in celebration of this joyous event - but oh no! Can it be that nefarious cultists are plotting a plot? There can! Woe!
But fear not, for Old Man Skids is ready for action, and his deck has - yes - 103xp worth of cards in it! Will this stupidly overpowered deck bring me victory? What do you think?!
Many thanks to you, friends, for listening to this silly podcast. Drop me a line if you are enjoying it, and here's to 25 more, badder episodes!

Carolyn Fern zaps into another investigator's unlucky shoes, this time at a swanky party. What fun! Don't eat the vol-au-vents.

In this episode we return to the perilous body-snatching adventures of Carolyn Fern as she finds herself occupying the body of, and trying to 'help', another investigator in peril.
This time someone is lost in the witch-haunted woods outside Arkham - but who will benefit from Carolyn's tenacious consciousness this time? Find out as I play the Return To version of the first scenario in The Circle Undone - so beware some spoilers for that scenario here. And there's also a Tarot 'reading' at the start - oh boy!

Can you build a deck using only Cursed cards and cards which mention curse tolens? Basically, yes. Should you? Let's answer that question by taking Jim Culver the Mystic into the Depths of Yoth in a deck full of high XP cards, curse(d) cards and basic weaknesses ( ..also curse-traited). What could possibly go wrong?

It's time again for Carolyn Fern's consciousness to be zapped into another unwitting investigator's body in their direst moment of peril - but who will she required to save this time? Whoever it is, they will need Carolyn's courage and cunning to navigate the treacherous passageways of the ruined Temple of Eztli. A shame that there are so many snakes - why'd it have to be snakes? Oh boy!
Here is the decklist (now illegal for Carolyn but hey): https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1393071
Carolyn's bodyswapping adventures continue as she finds herself in Arkham Asylum. But which investigator's body has her consciousness been transported into? Will she be able to find this inmate called Daniel? And how many 'maniacs' can you possibly draw in one game? Oh boy!
Decklist here: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1366913
This is the second of my 'Quantum Leap Carolyn' series, where I take a deck tailor-built for Dr Fern but then select a random investigator to pilot it!
Carolyn's consciousness has been transported through space and time to hapless passenger aboard a train chuntering through the New England countryside. But whose body is she inhabiting? And why has the Essex County Express suddenly stopped? Oh boy!
Decklist here: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1330114
In this episode I've built a deck for Carolyn Fern to tackle The Vanishing of Elina Harper standalone. BUT there is a Twist! Alien eldritch powers have been at work, and Dr Fern is not feeling quite herself... Oh boy!
Thanks to Prinny for the idea that drove me to attempt this madness.

Off-class Yorick steps onto the stage for the final act in his adventure through the Web of Dreams. Atlach-Nacha the Spider Queen awaits. Will William weave a tale of victory? Or is it curtains for poor Yorick?
I am playing this campaign parallel with John (Monotone) from the "Watch This!" podcast. Go listen to his adcentures with offclass Sefina in the Dream-Quest here: https://anchor.fm/watch-this
Yorick's decklist is here: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1235875
Once more I'm joined by special guest John (Monotone) from the "Watch This!" podcast, to discuss the progress on our joint campaign through The Dream-Eaters.
Three scenarios each down, one each to go, we chat about deck upgrades and how we are preparing for our inevitable demises!
Check out John's great podcast here: https://anchor.fm/watch-this
If it's got the Blessed trait, Mateo can take it! So in this episode I build a 19xp Father Mateo deck consisting only of Blessed cards, and go cultist-hunting in The Midnight Masks scenario from the core set.
How many tokens can I possibly pull in a row during a single skill test? Find out, as I play Arkham Horror: The Card Game - just not that well.

Yorick is in the Underworld! My guardian-only William deck faces its biggest challenge yet in this 3rd scenario of the Web of Dreams: my technical issues! So we start in media res - as the first act advances. Will Yorick make friends with ghouls? Will he pass the dreaded Vale of Pnath? Will I ever manage to record a full scenario again? Let's find out!

I am playing the Dream Eaters alongside John from the "Watch This!" podcast, who is piloting Sefina the Mystic through the dreaming side: https://anchor.fm/watch-this/episodes/18-5-The-Oneironauts-Interlude-II-eq9hkm
Because the ending of the Zoey's A-Z recording (ep 13a) was tragically curtailed by the Elder Audio Gods, here is a short recap of what happened at the end of my Depths of Yoth delve. Only listen to this after you've listened to the main episode! Enjoy...
EDIT: Unfortunately the audio cuts out at 38:15, due to a technical fault that I didn't pick up at the time. If you listen to that point, check out my 'Zoey's A-Z debtief' mini-episode (ep 13b) for my recap of the missing content. Sorry!
EPISODE DESCRIPTION: Can you build an Arkham deck where every card begins with a different letter of the alphabet, representing A through Z? Yes! Should you? Let's find out! Zoey Samaras, machete in hand and suboptimal supplies in her knapsack, descends the Depths of Yoth in a frantic escape into doom. How deep down will she go before Yig takes her? Thanks to Marshionist for the suggestion for this deck! Decklist here: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1220481
In the second scenario of the Web of Dreams for off-class William, Yorick heads for a haunted house to seek a silver key. Will he find it, or will his fate be indescribable? Listen if you dare!

A special crossover episode where I'm joined by John (Monotone), host of the "Watch This!" podcast, to talk about how the first scenarios in our Dream Eaters campaign went, what our decisions during the first Interlude are, and what we might spend our sweet, sweet XP on.
Look out for the next scenarios (Search for Kadath and A Thousand Shapes of Horror respectively) on both podcasts soon!
I return to The Dream Eaters in Arkham Horror the Card Game, but this time I play on the Waking Side.
Again I'm playing an off-class investigator: William Yorick, the gravedigger, using only Guardian and neutral cards. And there's a twist! I'm excited to be playing in parallel with John (@Monotone) who hosts the "Watch This!" podcast. He will be playing a different investigator off-class in the Dream Quest, and our actions in our respective campaigns will affect the fate of the other's...

"Watch This!" the Arkham Horror podcast plays Beyond the Gates of Sleep: https://anchor.fm/watch-this/episodes/17-Beyond-the-Gates-of-Sleep-Sefina-Rousseau-eoqvj1
Leo Anderson reaches the end of his journey through the Dreamlands in this fourth episode featuring a guardian deck that contains no guardian cards. Will Leo save the day? Will he find unknown Kadath? How many priests will he shank? And who are the mysterious Gilbert and Sullivan brothers? Listen to find out...

Thank you for listening to this silly podcast these past few months. It was a cast begun by accident, but I loved doing it so much I just kept going. If you have listened to even one episode, you rule. Do comment if you have feedback, and tell/warn your friends about this podcast. Have a merry Christmastide and see you in 2021!
Amanda Sharpe is due to meet her tutor Professor Rice, but are the whippoorwills and squelching tentacle beasts hanging around the campus a sign that their supervision has been canceled? This deck only includes Practiced skills, plus a few neutral skills, in another of my attempts to pilot an off-class investigator deck. https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1110499
A marathon trek from the frying pan and into the fire as Rogue Leo goes to the Moon! This is scenario 3 of the Dream Quest as we pass the halfway point in Leo's search for Unknown Kadath. Decklist here: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1099144
For this playthrough I built a Roland Banks deck using only cards which have Roland in rhe card art (well, almost only). Is it a good deck? Find out as Roland goes hunting for art forgers in the Clover Club in (Return to) the House Always Wins. Decklist here: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1080857
I continue through the Dream Quest campaign of Arkham Horror the Card Game with Leo Anderson in a deck using only his off-class cards (Rogue). Leo leads a daring expedition through the Dreamlands to seek unknown Kadath... Is the deck better now it's upgraded? Well, it doesn't have Henry Wan in it any more, so things are looking up. Decklist here: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1089782
In this episode I try to play an investigator while only using their off-class cards, to see what ensues. So here is Leo Anderson, the Expedition Leader, who is a Guardian, but tonight he'll only have Rogue (and Neutral) cards in his deck. He is going to enter the Dreamlands and go Beyond the Gates of Sleep. Will he lose his way in the woods? Will he manage to lay the smackdown on monstrosities with only those little pea-shooters that rogues have? . Decklist here: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1087686
I play through the Return to the Gathering, as Jenny Barnes the Dilettante rogue - but with a twist: every card in the deck is a level 0 neutral card! Can Jenny find the right tools to fight the ghouls? Or will she just draw Painkillers and Desperate skills and cry? Let's find out as I play Arkham Horror, just not very well. Decklist: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1080031
More Arkham Horror the Card Game solo play. Another scenario with the janky chaotic nonsense that is the "Ashcan" Pete deck from the last recording. Will he live? Will he die? Only the chaos bag knows...
Decklist: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1067894
I take a chaos (randomly-generated) "Ashcan" Pete deck through the first scenario of the Innsmouth Conspiracy in Arkham Horror the Card Game.
