I’ve often felt frustration over the years that my creative path doesn’t always seem to “make sense” … that what I do or what I want to do is multi-faceted and hard to define… and I know a lot of us feel like this as artists but we do have to swim against the capitalist current that wants to put us in a neat little box with a bow on 🎀 and sometimes it just gets you down 😔
But in this stream of consciousness episode I pep talk myself through these thoughts and remind myself…
💞 I’ve got TIME
💞 I get to be MULTI!!! Multifaceted, multidisciplinary… and that’s beautiful
💞None of us get to experience a linear life path… some of us are just a bit more sensitive to it 😬🤪
By the end if this episode I felt better and I hope you do too 😘
All my love & solidarity creative souls 🌷🐉👺🎨 keep forging your own path even if it’s messy, it’s YOURS and that means more than anything 💞🔐

I don’t know about you, but I’m running on empty. Has it really been a whole YEAR since we performed/partied/jammed/hugged/applauded?! So, rather than fall into despair, let’s take a moment to pause and reflect. In this episode, I’m leading you through an exercise that helps me take stock of where I am, and gain the clarity I need to keep moving forward during uncertain times. I hope this exercise leaves you feeling inspired, refreshed and ready to keep going! 💪We got this! 💋

As little kids, we’re inspired artists 24/7… Then what happens? We take on all kinds of 💩 habits and thought patterns from the outside world that dull our shine, and block our creative vibes from vibing. Today I wanna call your attention to 3 habits that I think are particularly toxic to creativity 🤮 I know I’ve done all of these, and I’m pretty sure you have too. If you’re triggered by this episode, we’re onto something 😉💖✨

A creativity mantra is a word or phrase we can memorise and repeat to stay aligned with our creative visions, and focused on the creative task in front of us. These are the 5 creativity mantras that I used the most over the last year to combat perfectionism, writer's block, and anything else tryna stop me from living my best creative life! What are your creativity mantras?

Commitment might not seem like the most thrilling or glamorous part of being an artist... but in my experience, it's only when we make courageous commitments that stretch and challenge us, that we start getting to the really ✨good stuff✨! In this episode, I tell you the story of the first time I really learnt this lesson, and got a taste for that sweet, sweet, hurts-so-good feeling of committing to my own art, even when the going gets rough. I hope I can tempt you to do the same!
…………….
📝 Questions for reflection
1 ✨What are you currently committing to in your creative practice?
2 ✨Is there another level of commitment that your art/creativity is inviting you into right now?
3 ✨If so, what would that next level of commitment look like?

As artists, our ability to create and share our work is obviously essential to growing our practice, but sticking with a project when no-one is holding you accountable can be tricky! So today I’m sharing a 7-step structure which I’ve developed for myself, in order to successfully grow my ideas into projects and get them out into the world. I hope this episode inspires you to get working on a project! 😘
