EPISODE 15 with Chris Puzzanghero. Chris joined the United States Marine Coprs after high school then later was hired with the Fairfax County Fire Department. Chris has been with Fairfax for 14 years, the last 10+ years were assigned to Tower 25, and has recently been reassigned after his promotion! Chris is the epitome of a what we think of when we hear the word firefighter. He has a love for the job, his brothers and sisters in the service, the citizens in his community, and for his family! EPISODE 14 with Battalion Chief Jeremy Anderson. Chief Anderson had a total of 29 years of volunteer and career experience. He started in the fire service in 1995 as a volunteer, and became a career firefighter in 2005. Chief Anderson holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Chapel Hill, a Batchelor of Science Degree from East Carolina University, and has Graduated from the National Fire Academy. In this episode, Chief Anderson shares his thoughts and positive impacts we can have on the fire service. He cares tremendously for his citizens for his firefighters. Getting back into the podcasting game, Trailblazer Fire Tactics podcast has special Guest Alex Caldaro who dives down many rabbit holes about the fire service.
On this episode, a wide array of leadership is hit on from informal to formal. This episode includes our very first special guest, Aaron Drake. Drake is a career firefighter and has been career for around 12 years. He currently serves as an engineer on a Rescue Company and is also a Relief Officer. He throws in some very good perspectives based on experiences over the years and insight gained from putting in the work to make himself better.
This episode focuses on the importance of how having the right mindset is key to success, at or away from the firehouse. The topic of search vs. water on the fire is also hit on towards the end. We are still new at this so let us know what you think!
This first episode gives an introduction into what Trailblazer Fire Tactics is all about. The founders give a short bio and even some talk about mindset and how it relates to trust and checking the rig. There is a small audio issue when discussing where Trailblazer Fire Tactics come from but we will address that in future episodes.
