MY MISSION IS TO ENCOURAGE WOMEN

You are BEAUTIFUL. You MATTER. You are here for a REASON. And you have SO MUCH to offer. GIRL, YOU GOT THIS! So subscribe and join our community of amazing women so we can laugh and grow together.

LOL with Kim Gravel is a weekly comedy podcast for women where we laugh about the messiness of life and turn that mess into a message of confidence and hope.

This show is about how we can embrace our real selves and laugh about all the stuff that life throws our way. I’m the smartest person I know because I know that I don’t know anything for sure. This podcast is about doing the best we can, and figuring it out together with a community of strong, confident women who are here for each other.

LOL means laughing out loud, but it also means living, learning and loving out loud too. We all face so many expectations and LOL is a reminder that you can be authentically who you are, no matter what anyone else thinks. It doesn’t matter what you look like, what mistakes you’ve made in the past, or what rude thing your kids just did - we’re all the same in different ways and we’re all in this life together, so let’s come together each week and laugh about our messy, imperfect lives until we pee our pants (Lord knows, I do that a lot).

New episodes drop every Thursday. On each episode I tackle the topics that women care about with guests who will make you laugh, make you think, and help you see things in a new way. I talk with strong southern women like Leanne Morgan, incredible musicians like Hannah Dasher, industry leading professionals like Dr. Drew, superstars like Deion Sanders, and everyone in between.

I ain’t Joe Rogan, and I don’t do culture war. Instead I’m here to lift you up no matter who you are and what you believe. I always keep it positive even when we’re digging into a deeply personal or challenging topic.

Some of the topics we get real about are: Raising a family Supporting other women Body image Dieting and eating Self love Faith and religion  Sex and intimacy Marriage and dating Menopause and aging Answering your call Manifesting your goals Business success Managing outside expectations  Social pressure  Vulnerability Confidence Uncertainty  How to be brave

This is one of my most personal podcast episodes ever. This week I read my diary from 1991, which is the year I won Miss Georgia. I also read diary entries from this last year. Do you know what I realized when I read both? When I looked back over years of journaling, I realized that I have been writing the same thing over and over again. I realized that I was obsessed with the struggle to lose weight even when I was 19 and in the best shape of my life. I was putting the struggle up on a pedestal. We've all got struggles. If your struggle is a health struggle like mine, if yours is financial, if yours is a dream you haven’t been able to accomplish, whatever you are struggling with, this episode can be a game changer for you if you decide it’s going to be. Get off the struggle bus because you have the power to decide to change your life right now. We all have the power. So let’s use our power together, y’all, and let’s level up our lives.

In this episode: ·       I read journal entries from six months before becoming Miss Georgia ·       How I decided to let go of my 30-year weight loss struggle ·       How focusing on struggles prevents us from making change in our lives ·       How to stop living in your struggle ·       How to start making the positive changes you need in your life

Thank you to everyone who wrote to me and left me a review or a comment on last week’s episode. It was our most popular episode ever so buckle up because we’re just getting started talking about the power of deciding.

This is one of my favorite quotes from this week’s episode: “There are no limits to your life except for what you put on yourself.” – Kim Gravel

My sister Allisyn is back by popular demand with one of our most popular episodes from last season, and she opens up about the manifestation techniques that have changed her life. Allisyn and I are both manifesters. We envision a better life for ourselves and then we make it happen. It’s not magic, and it takes work, but once you master manifesting, anything is possible for you. The saying is: when God closes a door he opens up a window. I don’t believe that. When God closes a door, baby he builds a new building.

You’re thinking too small nine times out of ten!

In part one of this hilarious and meaningful two-part episode we get down to the nitty gritty of how-to begin manifesting with these 3 steps: 1. Vision it 2. Define what you want 3. Clean up your clutter

We share stories from our firsthand experiences, including how I manifested becoming Miss Georgia at the age of sixteen from a payphone, and how Allisyn went from a painful divorce to manifesting her teddy-bear husband. This episode is full of easy tips to teach you how to clean up the clutter in your life and manifest your dreams, whether it be a better partner, obtaining a new job, or becoming a Victoria Secret model. The sky’s the limit!

Topics:

I answer a listener question on how to start your own business

What manifestation means to us

The three steps of manifestation

Allisyn and I share manifestation stories

The connection between work and manifestation

How to clean up the clutter in your life

Whatever your situation, you can find the confidence and light you need to keep working towards your goals. Lia Valencia Key is the founder of Valencia Key, a jewelry brand with a mission to encourage its wearers to not only choose joy and light but also to shine and reflect that light outwardly in order to have a positive impact on everyone around them. Lia, who was raised in an underprivileged area of Philadelphia, shared a homeless shelter with her mother, sister, and brother. Lia's mother advised her to always leave the house wearing her sparkling earrings since they would serve as a constant reminder of her inner light and the potential she possessed. Lia overcame her challenges and preserved her mother's legacy by having faith in herself, persevering against all circumstances, and pursuing her aspirations. She built Valencia Key into a massive success, and women all over the world wear her beautiful, unique designs.    This is one of my favorite quotes from this week’s episode: “I feel the light is what shattered glass ceilings. I’m feeling so inspired this week, y’all. Leslie Means on the show and she tells me about how she listened to that still small voice inside herself, and how that voice led her to take a huge risk by quitting her job and going all-in on her blog for women. Season two of LOL with Kim Gravel is here and I can’t wait to share this journey with you!

I can’t imagine a better guest for the season two premiere than the unbelievably talented, Broadway star, Disney princess, author, and now fashion designer, Idina Menzel.

This is the last episode of my summer transformation series and it’s the funniest one yet! A few months ago, I started finding empty milk cartons all over my house. In part 4 of our summer transformation series we’re making ourselves the star of our own summer. We all have so many responsibilities it can feel overwhelming sometimes. We put others first so often that sometimes it can feel like we're a supporting character in our own life, not the star. This week we're grabbing the spotlight and becoming the star of our own summer! This isn't about being narcissistic, it's about looking inward and taking care of ourselves first so that we can be at our best for ourselves and those around us.

This week, I want you to do one simple thing that is just for you. It could be watching your favorite TV show with your favorite snack, or going on a walk with a friend. What are you going to do to fill up your cup? Once you begin to fill your own cup, it will run over and pour out onto the people you love.

This week I'm bringing another one of my favorite episodes back to share with you. This one is so much fun. I talk with Beth Young and Jessy Milicevic from the Mother Effer! podcast. With 8 kids between them, they’re two of the realist moms you’ve ever met. Their raw take on motherhood is hilarious and honest, and we get down and dirty talking about what it’s really like to be a parent these days.

We discuss work life balance, not showering for days, having the sex talk with teenage boys, STDs, teaching empathy, imposter syndrome, and hiding out from your kids. This episode has it all. So hand your 16 year old the car keys, buckle up, and get ready to laugh until you pee your pants this week on LOL with Kim Gravel.

My sister Allisyn is back by popular demand, and this week she opens up about the manifestation techniques that have changed her life. Clean up your clutter We share stories from our firsthand experiences, including how I manifested becoming Miss Georgia at the age of sixteen from a payphone, and how Allisyn went from a painful divorce to manifesting her teddy-bear husband. This episode is full of easy tips to teach you how to clean up the clutter in your life and manifest your dreams, whether it be a better partner, obtaining a new job, or becoming a Victoria Secret model. The sky’s the limit! So Live, love and laugh out loud with me for part 1 of “Having What You Want” with Allisyn.  Topics:

I'm bringing back one of our most popular and funniest episodes this week. This episode also happens to be one of my personal favorites. Fashion icon Isaac Mizrahi is on LOL with Kim Gravel and things get wild. Isaac and I dish on our TV careers and presenting on QVC. He tells me all about singing off-Broadway, and how he started out in fashion. I even teach Isaac a new naughty word and dare him to say it on live TV. This week we’re looking for hope in moments of hopelessness and discussing the impact that the tragic death of Cheslie Kryst has had on the pageant world, and on me personally.  The suicide of former Miss USA 2019, Cheslie Kryst, was a shock and a wake up call. This week we’re discussing hope and bringing awareness to the mental health issues that your friends, colleagues, and loved ones may be silently grappling with.  I see an epidemic of hopelessness around me right now, and I’m here to share a simple, powerful message: THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE. Cheslie seemingly had it all: beauty, brains, and a platform to share her message with the world. But mental health and wellness issues can happen to anyone, even someone who seems to have it all. Cheslie’s death is a tragic reminder that no one is immune to mental health struggles, and that we need to talk about them openly, honestly and without judgement or stigma.  In this episode, Zac and I discuss the stresses that our fast paced, modern lives puts on all of us. I share my own personal ups and downs to demonstrate that there is always light at the end of the tunnel in times of hopelessness. I promise you that everything happens for the good, and if you’re feeling hopeless right now, it will get better.  In this episode:

How to recognize and acknowledge feelings of hopelessness

Finding a greater purpose after a big event like a beauty pageant

Managing your life expectations whether they are good or bad

How to create a mindset shift to see the light at the end of the tunnel

How to let go of perfectionism

How to leave a little room for magic and serendipity in your life

How to be hopeful
