How do you keep your footing when life shakes you?
In this episode of The Preacher’s Vault, Jim Murrell opens with us 2 Peter 1:1–11 to uncover how to build a faith that won’t crumble under pressure—a faith that knows, grows, and shows.

✅ A Faith that Knows – More than knowing about God… truly knowing Him. When you know Him, you discover pardon, peace, power, and promises that change everything.

✅ A Faith that Grows – Peter calls us to add to our faith—virtue, knowledge, self‑control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love. Growth doesn’t happen by accident; it takes diligence.

✅ A Faith that Shows – A living, active faith bears fruit. It won’t leave you barren, blind, or bewildered, but stable and effective in the Lord’s service.

Along the way, we’ll ask the hard question: How many of us can name someone who has fallen? And how can we make sure we stand strong ourselves?

Have you ever prayed with all your heart—asking God for good weather, a spouse, healing, or help—only to feel like your faith didn’t work? Have you ever quietly wondered, What’s the point of believing if things still fall apart?

In this episode of Let the Word Speak, we dive into Hebrews 11:32–40 and wrestle with that tough question: What does mature faith really do when life doesn’t go the way we hoped?

🔹 Faith Believes in the Supernatural Power of God – Just ask Daniel in the lions’ den, the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace, David facing Goliath, or Peter in prison. God’s power is real, and He has proven time and again that nothing is impossible with Him.

🔹 Faith Bows to the Sovereign Purposes of God – Some escaped; some endured. Some were healed; others were not. Zechariah, Stephen, Isaiah, and countless early Christians remind us that true faith isn’t built on circumstances—it’s anchored in God Himself, even with an “if not” clause in our prayers.

🔹 Faith Is Based in the Steadfast Promises of God – These heroes of faith had no answers in their hands, but they held hope in their hearts. Their faith rested in God’s eternal plan, not in temporary results.

If you’ve ever felt like faith failed you, join us as we let the Word speak a deeper truth: God never fails, even when our prayers aren’t answered the way we imagined.

In Times Like These…We Need the Bible A Deep Dive into Nehemiah 8:1-14

The world can feel like a chaotic and uncertain place. We're bombarded with news of division, disaster, and despair. It's easy to feel lost and hopeless. But in times like these, there is one thing that can offer us hope, guidance, and comfort: the Bible.

In this episode of The Passage Podcast, we'll take a deep dive into Nehemiah 8:1-14. This passage tells the story of the Israelite people returning to their homeland after years of exile. They've rebuilt the walls of their city, but their hearts are still broken. They're feeling lost and discouraged.

So, they do what any good people would do in times of trouble: they turn to God's Word. They gather together and ask Ezra the scribe to read the Law of Moses to them. And as Ezra reads, something amazing happens. The people's hearts are stirred. They weep for their sins, but they also rejoice in God's forgiveness and love. They're reminded of who they are and what God has called them to do.

This passage has a powerful message for us today. Just like the Israelites, we're living in a time of great uncertainty. But the Bible can be our anchor in the storm. It can remind us of God's promises, give us hope for the future, and guide us on the path of righteousness.

We are not alone in our suffering, and we can find comfort in the knowledge that we are ultimately headed for glory.
