What is the condition of your heart today? Many people do not realize that what is happening within us is affecting and determining most of the circumstances happening around us. The Bible teaches us to guard our hearts with all diligence, because out of it flows all the issues of our life.

In the study, we will examine what the Bible teaches about our heart, and how God wants to restore wholeness within our hearts, not just change our outward circumstances.

All of the great men and women of God have all understood something very important…that we are what we are, by the grace of God. The apostle Paul said, By the grace of God, I am what I am.

As a believer, we relate to God on the basis of what Jesus Christ has already done for us, not on the basis of our performance or perfection. Even though we know this with our minds, sometimes it takes time before the Holy Spirit is able to really get this belief firmly established deep into our hearts.

God wants to bring us out of struggling and trying to measure up through our own strength, will power & performance, into a life empowered by his grace.

The Power of Praise

Praise is an essential part of how we express our daily walk of faith. It not only helps us to express our love and thanksgiving to God, it's also a weapon that helps us overcome the works of the enemy.

Psalms 149:5-9

In the New Testament, we see many places where the Apostle Paul uses military terminologies to describe the Christian life:

• Fight the good fight of faith

• You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

Many people that have given their lives to Jesus have not understood the gospel properly. Therefore, when the pressures of life come upon them, they are discouraged, unprepared & not ready to fight the good fight of faith.

Living by faith does not mean an easy life without challenges. On the contrary, the Word of God tells us that our faith will be tested! It is important that every Christian understands that God is with us in every test & trial, but we still have to fight to stand in the Victory Jesus purchased for us!

1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but

to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

There is power in the message of the cross! Power to completely transform our lives.

After the resurrection of Jesus, the book of Acts gives us an accurate account of the coming of the Holy Spirit which was the beginning of the Church. Jesus continues His ministry “through His Church (believers).” The early church endured many trials and tests. The power of the Holy Spirit helped them to overcome every challenge and they spread the Good News (Gospel of Jesus Christ) across the then known world.

After the resurrection of Jesus, the book of Acts gives us an accurate account of the coming of the Holy Spirit which was the beginning of the Church. Jesus continues His ministry “through His Church (believers).” The early church endured many trials and tests. The power of the Holy Spirit helped them to overcome every challenge and they spread the Good News (Gospel of Jesus Christ) across the then known world.

God has placed His treasure of resurrection life in earthen vessels… (2 Corinthians 4:7). In other words, imperfect people. We must learn to keep our focus on the treasure and not on the vessel.

Even though we are filled with the treasure of God and called to a life of faith we will not go through life without challenges to our faith and our walk with God

When we spend time with God in His Word the Holy Spirit with show us how God views us. God does not see our lives according to our circumstance, our failures or our feelings. God views us according to who He made us to be In Christ. When we are in Christ we have a new identity and a new destiny. Become acquainted with the new you!

God’s Word gives us clear examples how our faith connects us to His power.

The Bible teaches us that our words, lined up in agreement with God’s Word, plus our actions, releases God to work in our lives.

God created us with the ability to speak His word and release His creative power into our life and circumstances.

Jesus said in Mark 11:22, 23 that we have the ability to change things when we believe and speak God’s word.

Let your faith be awakened. Be encouraged!

God has a good future for each of us but we must make fresh decisions to put our past behind us. We cannot go into the next season of our lives and continue to carry past mistakes, problems and burdens. We must go into the presence of God and get the forgiveness we need. Shake off the past and prepare to step into the good things God has prepared for you.

Every person who has made Jesus Christ Lord of their lives has the Life of God inside their reborn spirit. This new life must be nurtured and practice in order to grow. God wants us to mature and develop in the fruit of the Spirit and Christ-like character. To walk with God is to learn to walk in love.

Jesus through His blood on the cross won an eternal victory for all people. One sacrifice for all people for all time.

The Word teaches us that the blood of Jesus brings salvation and restoration into every area of our lives.

Now that we belong to God there is a new way of living. The Bible gives us clear instructions on what this means & how we can practically develop in this new life as Christians.

Now that we belong to God there is a new way of living. The Bible gives us clear instructions on what this means & how we can practically develop in this new life as Christians.

HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN

As believers, it’s important for us to understand the operation of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

When we give our lives to Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within us. But, there is a separate experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit; where the spirit of God comes upon our lives to give us power for service.

This teaching explains the difference between the Holy Spirit within, and the Holy Spirit upon our lives.

When Adam sinned in the garden of Eden he died spiritually; he was disconnected from fellowship with God. Mankind needed a bridge back to God.

John 10:10 Tells us why Jesus came… “He came to give us Life!”

The life that he was talking about is the kind of life that would be imparted into our spirit.

He told a religious ruler that every man must be ‘Born Again.’ Jesus was talking about the spirit of man. When we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord a miracle takes place and we receive the God kind of life inside of us.

HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN

People see the symbol of the cross in churches, as ornaments or jeweler, but many people fail to really understand what Jesus actually did for us at the cross. Over and over we see people have many excuses of why they could not… but the Bible contains a simple phrase that can change everything…“But God!”

Maybe you have been hindered from making any progress in your life… “But God” can turn your apparent defeat into victory!

Hebrews 11:3 “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”

Scripture reveals to us that everything God did and continues to do this world, He does by speaking words. God’s Word is filled with God’s power.

Scripture also tells us that we are workers together with God. God gave man authority in this world. It is the will of God that we take His Word; put His Word in our mouths and declare it by faith. God’s Word changes things to line up with his will.

God’s Word was first spoken; then it was written. It was written so we as believers could put His Word into our mouth and speak it to change our circumstances and our lives.

HOPE; THE ANCHOR FOR OUR SOUL

Many believers are trying to live by faith without realizing that there are two other ingredients that are

vital to our life of faith and our ability to receive from God. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13:13 that

there are three things that will last forever; Faith, Hope, and Love.

Faith will not work without love, nor can it produce any results without hope. Many people mistake this

word hope for wishful thinking. Bible hope is very powerful. It is the blueprint for our lives & is built

upon the sure foundation of the promises of God. It is the anchor for our emotions to keep us from being

tossed about in life’s storms.

ONWARD & UPWARD

God wants us continually look and move forward in our lives. In able for that to happen we must cultivate great hope for our future and let go of the past.

God has a way of moving us beyond the many different challenges we face in life. In this message we look at a few important Bible truths we need to focus our attention on, in order to pursue the plan & purpose of God for our lives.

CHRISTMAS REMINDERS

When we read the Christmas story and the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ, there are certain elements that stand out in our memories. We are reminded of:

that special Star the wise men followed
a Heavenly host of angels appearing to the Shepherds
a virgin bearing a child.

All of these events actually, historically happened. This message summarizes these elements to reveal the real purpose Jesus came to this earth as a baby.

For thousands of years, the prophets spoke of the coming of the Messiah.

Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive

and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”

‘Emmanuel’ means God with us. God would come and become a man. Jesus Christ was born in

humble circumstances and grow up to shake the world in a 3 ½ year ministry. When He went to

the cross He open the way for every human being to come back into relationship with God.

Many missed His first coming. He said He was coming again. Don’t miss His second coming!

Living our lives well involves living intentionally and with eternity in view. The time to think about what we want to become and accomplish in our lifetime is at the beginning, not waiting until the end.

Each one of these gives us a key in how we need to view our lives in order to live our lives well.

God Became Flesh - Emmanuel
