I'm frequently disappointed at the lack of ability that many people seem to have online to discuss ideas. Ideas have been reduced to right/wrong, truth/lies, good/bad etc. I realised why this is and the ramifications are quite alarming.

In conversation or writing, choose your words carefully.
It’s often said that people nowadays are lazy with language. For instance, the word ‘cool’ is used instead of many more precise words: exciting, joyful, gripping, amusing, arousing, astounding, etc.
There are a number of reasons why choosing your words is important. One is that if you are lazy with your words you are expecting the other person to fill in the precision that you didn’t convey, and they will do so using their own assumptions. For instance, you may have been thinking of ‘exciting’ when you said ‘cool’ and the person listening may have been thinking ‘educational’ or even ‘cold’. Another is that when you choose your words carefully you need to be clear of your concepts and this clarifies your thought processes.
Much political and sociological jargon falls down if you carefully examine the ideas behind the words instead of simply relying on the words as if they have a life of their own. This has been referred to as using ‘weasel words’, words that allow the speaker to weasel out of admitting something that would be quite plain were they to use simple English. However, choosing your language carefully extends beyond simply avoiding weasel words.
Many words that have been incorporated in everyday English have nebulous qualities if examined carefully. That is not necessarily a problem as there is room for imprecision in language. The problem arises when people attribute precision to a word that the word doesn’t have.
Why the economic system controls you socially. In Socialism and Communism the state determines your value so you don't have a say in what you will do for a living or where you will work etc. In the end, they control every aspect of your life.
Darwinism is the notion that humans evolved through an arbitrary and random process. It's an attempt by Atheists to explain humanity without accepting a belief in God. Not only is it absurd, it leads to the acceptance of the idea that humans are simply sophisticated animals and to the idea that modern ideas must be correct because they evolved from, and superseded, old ideas.
