Top Bier is a beer review podcast in which we drink two or more beers of the same style to determine which one is best. Our goal is to accumulate a ranking of our favorite beers in every style. Be sure to take everything we say with a grain of salt because none of us have a background or education in brewing we're just a bunch of loud jackasses who really like beer. Today we compare two former northwest classics that have since been tossed around from big brewery to big brewery, but at least henrys is back in the hands of an Oregon company.

Today we tried one of my favorite North German Pilsners against two local Oregon breweries attempt at that style. This episode will also be available on youtube.
At the time of recording it was the weekend after Saint Patricks day and all three of these beers were on sale, so even though the blond ale is a totally different style we decided to drink them all at once. This episode is also available on youtube.
This time we finally get around to tackling some IPA's. We start with 10 Barrel's Apocalypse IPA vs Zoigelhaus Zoigel-IPA. 10 Barrel is a brewery in Bend OR, and their beer is available all over the state whereas Zoigelhaus is a small brewery in Portland OR, and I think think their beer is only available in the city. This time were seeing how well Zoigelhaus (A Portland OR, microbrewery that specializes in German styles of beer.) can measure up against the classic Weihenstephaner helles. Weihenstephan is the oldest brewery in the world and owned and operated by the bavarian government. For clarification the brewery itself is called Weihenstephan it just says Weihenstephaner on the cans of helles. If you want to watch the video its available on youtube.
This time we try and find out which of the three top dogs in American light beer is the king, as well as doing a blind taste test to see if we can even tell the difference between them.
This time on our beer review podcast we compare the world's first pilsner against a popular example from Germany. Both of these beers can be found all over the United States (provided you live in a city large enough to have one of those hipster beer shops) and I assume all over Europe as well.
