Women's Health: Breaking the Taboos: Recent Episodes

Channel 5 / Mail Metro Media

Watch the accompanying TV series, Women's Health: Breaking the Taboos, on My5.

Half the world is female and yet our bodies, body parts, and health issues are too often discussed reluctantly, awkwardly or with embarrassment.

This podcast aims to change that, and to start conversations about our bodies and minds that can help us realise our concerns are entirely normal.

(Any treatments discussed or advice given in this series shouldn’t replace going to see your GP.)

Cherry Healey and Dr Dawn Harper hear from four guests – Trisha Goddard, Lucy Alexander, Toyah Willcox and Jamelia – each with their own unique health journey, to explore what to look out for when something doesn’t feel right, how they coped with their own health conditions and – above all – why we all need to talk about our health more!

Women’s Health: Breaking the Taboos is brought to you in partnership with Channel 5.

Produced by Listen Entertainment on behalf of Channel 5 / Mail Metro Media.

When singer and TV presenter Jamelia joined us, she revealed that she was expecting her fourth child. She’s a huge believer in being open and transparent about her health and her emotions – partly thanks to her mum’s desire for her to be able to express herself with confidence in a way that she couldn’t. Jamelia also shared how she and her daughters come together each month on “period day”, and how she encourages them to know when it’s time to curl up on the sofa and eat cake.
