His Beloved Catholic Podcast: Recent Episodes

Kendra Bartlett & Megan Copeland

We are two Catholic women who live across the street from one another. On this podcast each week we will have fun, and marvel at the goodness of God through the stories of our friends. We think everyone needs a little hope and we share stories of times when God has shown up in joy and in heartache to remind us all that we can hope too. We laugh, we cry, and we just live life for real. If you are a life long Catholic or you have no idea how this whole Catholicism thing works this is a place for you. Today we have our friend Aaron on the podcast. He is the husband of Mary Kate who was on the podcast a couple of weeks ago. He fell in love with Jesus in High School and became a missionary as a young adult. He has served all over the country on college campuses and he was the director of an inner city Detroit Youth program called Youth Works. While he was a missionary he fell in love with the Catholic Church and converted to Catholicism. On the podcast today Aaron tells us AMAZING stories of the power of God. We were shocked by the way God has moved in and through His ministry. Aaron also has a heart for outreach and for encountering people. We can all learn from his amazing ability to connect heart to heart with people and his trust in the power of God. You will be inspired by this episode!! Enjoy!

James Longoria is back on the podcast! James is the worship leader for our His Beloved retreats and youth minister at a church near us. He was on our podcast way back on episode 28 and you can go back and hear his entire story if you would like. It is powerful! Today he shares a new story with us that took place this summer. James, who has an anointed voice, suddenly lost his voice after becoming ill in April. For months he was unable to sing or even speak without coughing. In the process, he met Jesus in a way that he had never experienced Him before and learned to trust Him with our without the gift that he had been given. It is a powerful, miracle story and one that can teach us a lot about trusting in God even when things feel out of control.

Today we have an adorable couple on our podcast. Chase and Viva Crouse are here to talk all things Catholic Fitness. Chase has a background in ministry and Viva is an actress. A few years ago the Lord put on their hearts to become personal trainers and to train people using Theology of the Body and Catholic principles. That is when they started a Catholic personal training company called Hypurofit. During our conversation they explain how fitness and health should not be quick bursts that just fizzle out, but long lasting habits that allow us to live out the calling that God has for our lives. We also get to hear their adorable love story. They are a ton of fun and you will love them. You can find Chase and Viva on their website or their instagram accounts.

Hey there friends! Some terrible illnesses struck our house last week, so we were not able to record a new episode. We decided to share one of our favorites from last year. This was part of our "Find Your Fire" Series. On this episode Megan and Kendra dive deep into Dr. Bob Schutts writings about healing wounds using the movie Encanto. We highly recommend that after you listen to this one, go back and listen to the whole series if you didn't hear it the first time starting on episode #54. Even if you heard this episode last year give it a listen again. The Lord may just surprise you and invite you into a different aspect of healing while you listen.

Today we have a little fun with the deep topic of generational wounds and trauma. This is the next episode in our series "Find Your Fire". The movie Encanto has so much to teach us about charisms, gifts, wounding and generational trauma. We know that not everyone loves Disney movies, but the Lord speaks to Megan through Disney movies. If we look at them in the light of the Holy Spirit even Disney can teach us thing or two about the heart of God. We talk about our own struggles, wounds, and how we can over come wounds to live in freedom and fly with the Lord.

Today we have Heather Murphy, the Development Director of Couple to Couple League. She shares with us a new initiative that CTCL has for women during Lent. We were blown away, by what she shared. This program would be fantastic for all teens and young adult women. It could also be helpful for any woman who is struggling month to month with her cycle. Couple to Couple League, the premier provider of Natural Family Planning resources just launched Revelation90, a 90 day course where women take a deep dive into their wellness habits to reveal their healthiest, happiest selves. Drawing on the expertise of program partners SoulCore and Temple+Table, Revelation90 provides a holistic answer to the persistent health problems that women face today. The inaugural Revelation90 challenge will kick off on Ash Wednesday, February 14, and end 90 days later on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, May 13.Katie Zulanas, Executive Director of Couple to Couple League, says Revelation90 is the answer to a problem that the Couple to Couple League has observed for years. “Working with hundreds of thousands of women in helping them learn about and understand their fertility, we have unfortunately seen a disturbing trend of cycles becoming more irregular,” Zulanas said. “A woman’s cycle is an extremely accurate indicator of overall health. Revelation90 will not only give you great insight into your health, it will give you the tools needed to design a happier, healthier, smarter lifestyle.”To register or get more info about Revelation 90 visitwww.revelation90.orgOur listeners (and friends and family) can use "beloved90" to get 50% off the Revelation90 program! Hello friends! Today we have the sweetest lady in all the land, Roxanna Garcia, on our podcast. Roxy is a good friend of ours and we have watched God moving in her life. We asked her to come on the podcast and share the story of how God lit a fire in her heart for Theology of the Body and asked her to step out and do something that felt terrifying. He is such a gentle leader though and has walked her slowly and gently through the process. She also tells us the fantastic story of how she met her husband and we were shocked! Such a great story. We think you will see yourself in Roxy's, humble heart, and the journey that she has been on with the Lord. This was such a fun episode! We hope you enjoy!

How many times have you seen God move deeply in your life only to slip back into doubt and mistrust shortly after? I have too. So did the Israelites. In this episode we talk about Jesus as “O Adonai”. The Israelites’ rescuer, our rescuer. He is mighty and showed His might through a gentle teenage mother who yearned for the Messiah so deeply that her prayer was “if only I could clean the sandals of the woman who would bring the Messiah to the world.” He has come! “Aslan is a lion- the Lion, the great Lion." "Ooh" said Susan. "I'd thought he was a man. Is he-quite safe? I shall feel rather nervous about meeting a lion"..."Safe?" said Mr Beaver ..."Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you.” -C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Our God is mighty and tender. We’ve been on this journey of discovering this two-fold mystery and today on the podcast we will go even deeper. We journey through the Old Testament history of the unblemished lamb and Passover for the Israelite people and Jesus’ once and for all fulfillment of that sacrifice. Then we enter into the mystery of Jesus as the Lion. What does it look like for Him to be the Lion over our lives AND also how does He desire to partner with us as the Lion? Remember, He’s good!

Below are the scriptures referenced in the podcast. Pray with them and make them your battle cries!

Dr. Sean Tobin- “living in reaction to the devil is a counterfeit to living in the freedom of Christ.”

Philippians 1:28 “do not be intimidated in any way by your enemies.”

James 4:7-8 “Submit yourself to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

Luke 10:19 “Behold I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall hurt you.”

Phil. 1:28 “Do not be intimidated in any way by your enemies.”

1 John 4:4 “Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.”

1 John 4:18 “perfect love drives out fear” God is love

Romans 5:3-5 “More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”

Psalm 32:7 “God surrounds me with songs of deliverance.”

Romans 10:13 “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

CCC 2111 “To attribute the efficacy of prayers or of sacramental signs to their mere external performance, apart from the interior dispositions that they demand, is to fall into superstition.”

1 John 5:18 “We are born in God and the evil one cannot touch you!”

Ephesians 6

Psalm 91

As we enter into the second week of Advent, journey with us as we enter more deeply into the incredible gift of Jesus as the Bread of Life! What an incredible gift from our Abba Father to be so deeply longed for, that He would allow us to physically be one with Him……every day! The truth of His presence in the Eucharist goes all the way back into the Old Testament where God laid the foundation through numerous “types” or prefigurements, and Jesus as the Bread of Life in the New Testament actually fulfills these Old Testament types. We discuss these and also practical ways to enter more deeply into this incredible mystery in this episode. On this episode we dive into the sacrificial, unfailing love of the messiah for His bride. That bride is you my friend. Do you know how deeply you are loved by Jesus, your bridegroom? Is it hard to hear that He loves you that much? If that feels thrilling or terrifying this episode is for you. Listen in and let the love of Jesus wash over you once again.

Megan's Version of John 14

I have created a room just for you. A room in my heart where you are fully seen, fully know and fully alive. You can be 100% you here without fear or hiding. I am the way, the truth and the life you access this room through Me. You know the fathers heart because you know me.

I will never leave you alone. I am yours and you are mine. I am in you and you are in me. You will see me in that silent place in your heart. You know me and you will hear my voice.

I am giving you the spirit to give you comfort, council and my love. You do not need to fear or worry you have everything that you need with my love and my spirit. You can rest and be still in the spirit.

Song of Songs

The Bridegroom-King

7 Every part of you is so beautiful, my darling. Perfect is your beauty, without flaw within.

8 Now you are ready, my bride, to come with me as we climb the highest peaks together. Come with me through the archway of trust. We will look down from the crest of the glistening mounts and from the summit of our sublime sanctuary, from the lion’s den and the leopard’s lair.

9 For you reach into my heart. With one flash of your eyes I am undone by your love, my beloved, my equal, my bride. You leave me breathless—I am overcome by merely a glance from your worshiping eyes, for you have stolen my heart. I am held hostage by your love and by the graces of righteousness shining upon you.

10 How satisfying to me, my equal, my bride. Your love is my finest wine—intoxicating and thrilling.

Kendra's husband, Chris Bartlett, is back on the podcast today. We have had several episodes with Chris over the years. He has over 20 years of youth ministry experience in the Catholic Church and is currently the Vice President of Ablaze Ministries. Ablaze Ministries trains and empowers youth ministers across the country in their mission with the teens of their parish. In this conversation Chris shares with us our call as Catholics to share the gospel to people around us and invite them into relationship with Christ and His Church. He tells us an amazing story of when God invited Him to be vulnerable with a man in a mosh pit at a punk concert. He gives us tips of how to be on mission where we live, work and play. It turns out that it doesn't take a lot of programming or training. The most powerful way to evangelize is to live the faith and love people around you. I think we can all do that, don't you? This week we sit down with Deacon Ralph Poyo and dive into evangelization in the church. He is the founder of New Evangelization Ministries. Many times when we hear the word evangelization we immediately go to programming, events, books, etc. Deacon Ralph is a fresh voice in our church today, challenging this norm with out of the box thinking. He is preaching and coaching the faithful to stretch themselves into discipleship in the day to day. Deacon Ralph does this for a living y’all! Let’s get equipped together to further the kingdom!

https://nem.training/

With New Evangelization Ministries, Deacon Ralph seeks to help parishes become agents of self-evangelization, so that the first fruits of their catechetical programs is that of putting their parishioners “not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ…” (Pope John Paul II, Catechesi Tradendae, para. 5).

His methods of evangelization model the personal, one-on-one style of Our Lord; Jesus preached to the multitude, but focused even more time and energy on “the Twelve,” preparing them to spearhead the ministry of evangelization after His passing. Armed with this knowledge and over twenty years of experience, Deacon Ralph is being sent to teach others how to become evangelists – how to bring others to Jesus and then get out of the way!

On this episode we got to visit with one of Megan’s good friends, Jessica Konzen. For a long time now Megan would tell me “you have to meet Jessica! You will just love her!” And she was right! Y’all, Jessica is the coolest. Not only is she in the know for the coming fashion trends (newsflash, RED), she is a firecracker for Jesus and lives her life radically and authentically for Him. She’s a pastor at a local evangelical protestant church who has a beautiful story of how God made beauty from the ashes of her life. Once she met the lover of her soul there was no turning back. Though she does not share the same Catholic faith as us, she shares the same deep love for the Lord and we all can learn so much from our Protestant brothers and sisters! In this episode, Megan and Kendra dive into the gift of friendship. Jesus had friends! He had his super close circle of 3, his close circle of 12, and then a bigger group of friends extending from that. Jesus wants YOU to experience deep friendship too. The friendship that Megan and Kendra share was an answer to years of prayer for that super close inner circle, ride or die type of friendship. How do you go deep? How do you allow others in? How do you “do” friendship well? How do you have the hard conversations? We talk about times in our lives where we had to fight for one another in prayer, how we have had to be there to hold the other up when everything felt like it was falling apart, and how you can find Kingdom friendships like ours. In the first part of this episode we are sharing Kendra‘s talk from the “Draw Near” women’s conference that His Beloved put on in September. It was a day filled with such grace and the intentional pursuit of the Father’s heart over each and every woman. In this talk given by Kendra, she dives into intimacy with the living God. What does it look like to surrender, and the beautiful fruit that comes when we allow him to fully see the very depths of our hearts, while simultaneously inviting us into the very depths of His own. Then the second part of the episode is Megan’s brief talk about the Hemorrhaging woman that led us into Eucharistic adoration. It was powerful y’all! Hey there Beloveds! This week will look a little different on the His Beloved Podcast. We put on a retreat a couple of weeks ago about intimacy with God and we felt like you might like to hear those talks. This week is Megan's talk called "Who is He To You?" Megan dives into intimacy with Jesus and who He is to her. We spend a lot of time talking about our identity in Christ. Who are we to Him? For this talk we focus on His identity. Who is He to us? He will be different to everyone. He is the Lion and the Lamb, fierce and gentle, healer, lover, etc. the list could go on and on. We invite you to think about who you see Jesus as. Is He close to your heart? Draw near with Him as you listen to this episode. At the end there is a prayer experience. You can hit pause and join us in that prayer or come back to it later when you have time. Megan accidentally called the prayer the Emmaus prayer, but it actually the Immanuel prayer.

Here is the prayer:

Jesusremind me of times that I haveexperienced your presence in special ways. Holy Spirit please bring thesememories of special connection. Lord please make yourself apparent tome. Let me see you and remember these moments. Refresh my memory of yourpresence and reestablish a living, interactive connection, right here and now.

Haley Riney is back!!! If you have listened to last week's episode check that one out first. At the end of the part one episode with Haley we just knew we had to get her in the studio again. So. Many. Thoughts. The Lord parted the seas and we were able to connect with her while she was “on location for Jesus”. The three of us came into this episode completely empty handed and asked Holy Spirit for direction, and as usual, Holy Spirit rocked it. Haley shared more of her healing journey after her divorce and the powerful (yet brave) prayer that started it all. We dive deep into healing and how the Lord desires freedom for all of us. We could have kept recording for another hour but all good things must come to an end….in this case because Tessa needed her lunch. Oh, y’all, Haley is a gift and a flame of honesty, inspiration, truth, knowledge, and freedom and we are so blessed to call her kingdom family. Stay tuned for an episode 3 to come with Haley. The Lord is not through with her message for us yet.

Sometimes when we’re recording, the content feels like it was specifically for our hearts to hear, and that’s exactly what happened with this episode with Haley Riney. If you only knew how many notes I took while we were recording!

Haley and Kendra met at the Encounter conference in December of 2023 and immediately she thought two things….1) She is my people! 2) Megan will love her! Haley lives a life of radical dependence on the Father, not in a grasping for breath kind of way, but knowing that every breath comes from the Father and she just wants to live in total union with Him. She shares her story of how the Lord made beauty from ashes and in her “YES!” to Him she’s gone on the most incredible adventure to places she never thought she would. Literally y’all. Grab a cup of coffee and allow yourself to be poured into and inspired!

Do you ever have those moments when you are listening to a dynamic speaker and wonder “what are they like in real life?” On this episode we get a glimpse into the authentic world of Catholic speaker, minister, and podcast host, Ryan O’Hara. Ryan’s life took a pivot in college when he had his conversion, and has been working with youth, and young adults, furthering the kingdom on earth ever since. In this delightful conversation we talk about what it looks like to live an authentic Christian life, not by specifically speaking of strategies per say, but just by hearing how Ryan and his wife live their life fully and sacrificially, seeking God‘s plan and running! If you want to hear more from Ryan you can check him out at his podcast Better Preach. It has been a tremendous gift to Megan and Kendra and I am sure it will be to you as well!

Hey friends! Today we are sharing with you an episode of Sunday Stories for Catholic Kids. Gather your fam and listen to this on your way to Mass this weekend. Today we get to talk about my absolute favorite… the Holy Spirit. Can you imagine a church where kids know the depth of the Holy Spirit? What if they knew who and what they are receiving at Baptism and Confirmation? If they understand the power, gifts and fruits that live within them? Our church needs this! We need to know the third person of the Trinity. So today on Sunday Stories we are diving into the Holy Spirit. Let’s go! Rachel McClellan, the third member of His Beloved, is back on the podcast! She was on episode 31 of our podcast. She told her story of falling in love with Mary and feeling called to join the Catholic Church. If you haven't heard it yet, go back and take a listen. Since then, God has done so much in her life. Her story is truly remarkable. She shares with us the difficulty of going through an annulment and the healing that this process has brought to her heart. She also shares wisdom with us of finding God in the waiting and learning to trust Him.

On this episode we are holding nothing back! We are ready to go all in. We want to be people who live for Jesus, share His great love with our children and are willing to defend Him at all costs. We tell the story of the mother in 2 Maccabees 7 who watches all seven of her sons martyred in order to defend their faith. We talk about how if we want to raise kids who love Jesus and are willing to go all in, then we need to be women who go all in as well. They will learn it by watching us live out our faith boldly. While we don't see martyrdom in our near future we know that each and everyone of us is called to mini martyrdoms to stand up for what we believe in or to share the faith with those around us. We want to be ready and willing.

Practical Tips

  • Go to adoration and take your kids to adoration

-Dive into scripture and teach it to your kids

-If you don't know the stories of the bible start with a children's story bible and go deeper

-Take older children to adoration with worship

We had a blast this week on our trip to Dallas. We had the great opportunity to hang out in "The Cottage" with Ali Hoffman and Katie Smith. Katie was a teen in Chris' youth ministry before Kendra and Chris started dating. She is now a youth minister in Dallas. Ali was also a youth minister and now runs an art and design company called Oodles of Doodles where she makes custom hand lettering. She was also internet famous when a video of her dancing in the kitchen with her dad went viral. She is full of life and oh so funny. Both of these ladies were former Net Missionaries and are beautiful women living out the faith in their entire lives. It was a gift to spend time with them and stay in their home. On this episode we talk about life as a single women, dating, marriage, healing and trusting in the Lord. Ali's First Viral Video During the Ice Stormhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDBO6yYr5W0&list=PLAdj6pU2mJsSzeMQvuESEl5CD8faHaMjq&index=2Ali's Covid Dance Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOjwAL9Docg&list=PLAdj6pU2mJsSzeMQvuESEl5CD8faHaMjq&index=1Be Healed By Dr. Bob Schutts (JPII Healing Center)https://jpiihealingcenter.org/store/--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/hisbelovedoftexas/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/hisbelovedoftexas/support

Welcome back to our Find Your Fire series. If you haven't heard all of the episodes we recommend you go back and listen. On this episode we take everything we have talked about a put it into action with a heart check. We are a little tired from some sickness in our families and start out a little funny, but don't worry we go deep by the end. Pull up a chair and let the Lord speak to your heart today.

We ask ourselves these questions:

  1. Am I walking in His promises?

  2. Am I walking in the confidence of the Holy Spirit?

  3. Am I operating out of my belovedness and seeing the belovedness of others?

  4. Where does my allegiance lie?

Today while Kendra is off chaperoning a trip of 9th grade girls in the dessert of Utah we are sharing an oldie, but a goody. Maybe one of the best we have ever had, with the guest that is most requested. Everyone loves to hear from Esther Caswell, so today we are re-airing her episode from last year as the next episode in our "Find Your Fire" series. Esther knows what it means to truly live in the spirit and completely surrender your life to God and she shares that with us today. If you have never heard from Esther before, you are in for a treat! If you heard this episode last year, I invite you to listen again. She brought me to tears and taught me so much as I listened to it this week while editing. I am certain that the Lord will share something new in your heart the second time around. She runs a non-profit in Austin called Vidi Aquam, where she ministers to mothers. Esther is very vulnerable in this conversation and tells us several stories of following the Lord and doing the unexpected living in His will.

Today we have Heather Gardner, the Director of the Central Texas Coalition for Life, the pro-life group that leads peaceful prayer vigils on the sidewalks in front of abortion clinics in Austin, TX. Heather was part of the original 40 Days for Life group in Bryan/College Station that prayed for Abby Johnson. She was there the day that Abby left the clinic and went to the Coalition for Life office. It is always fun to hear Heather tell the story from her point of view and she shares it with us today. We also talk about how to have hard conversations with friends and family about abortion. We discuss some of the common misconceptions and how can we talk about them with love and charity.

This is our second episode about the Coalition for Life. If you missed the first one with Katrina Rodriguez go back and listen to that one as well.

We welcome back to the podcast the one and only Chris Bartlett, husband of our sweet Kendra and leader in youth ministry. Chris was a youth minister for 20 years before transitioning to Ablaze ministries to continue to spread his love for youth ministry throughout the country. Chris travels around training youth ministers and giving parish missions about truly living out the faith and forming disciples. He shares with us today about the importance of forming disciples. Much of what he discusses came from the book "Forming Intentional Disciples" by Sherry Weddell. This is a very powerful conversation and we hope that you leave this podcast feeling a renewed sense of authority and calling to disciple the fallen away Catholics and non-Christians around you.

We have some big news, HUGE news! The Lord has been stirring our hearts and calling us toward something new and we want to invite you to join us. To celebrate this big change we invited our middle school daughters on the podcast today. We asked them a couple of questions and oh man they just went for it! We were blown away by their genuineness and vulnerability. It was just beautiful. They share with us from a middle school prospective about identity, faith, and learning to trust in God. So what is the big surprise? We are launching a new podcast for Catholic girls called "Girl Arise". Each episode will be 20-30 minutes of Megan and Kendra sharing on a topic that matters to Catholic girls. Please share this link and show with your friends!

https://open.spotify.com/episode/3eivDNglfpVpNtrJ0ABiEJ?si=Sl7iX7eATEalHccV-8658g

There is finally a place for Catholic girls to grow in holiness and have a little fun at the same time. Kendra Bartlett and Megan Copeland, the hosts of the His Beloved Catholic Podcast, love to inspire teens and young adults to live out their Catholic faith authentically. On each episode of this podcast we will cover a topic that is meaningful to girls these days: identity, relationships, friendships, prayer, scripture, the dignity of our bodies, etc. In the words of Jesus Talitha Kum it is time "Little Girl to Arise."

Today we have the witty and knowledgable Ryan Pollock on the show. Ryan works at St. Theresa's Catholic Church as the Director of Senior Adult Ministry and Parish Life and he has had a huge life change recently. Ryan was a priest in the Episcopal church in Dallas for three years until the Lord started to stir his heart towards beauty, reverence, and  the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist among other things. As he started researching these topics and Church history he found himself in a moral dilemma. Does he walk toward what he feels is truth even if it means turning away from what he has worked so hard for? Or does he stay and try to make his church more and more like the Catholic church? As you can probably guess he chose to leave his position and join the Catholic Church. All of this happened in the middle of a global pandemic and with a new baby. In our conversation Ryan tells us about the history of the Anglican church, his love for liturgy, church history, Jesus in the Eucharist, and how to grow a killer beard.

Ryan mentions the book "The Apostolic Fathers" by Michael W. Holmes https://www.amazon.com/Apostolic-Fathers-Greek-English-Translations/dp/080103468X

We have an upcoming middle school girls retreat on Wednesday March 16th at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church from 9-5. It is called Chosen: Know Who You Are and we will dive into identity, relationships, friendship, and the dignity of our bodies based around the theme of the movie "Moana". To register visit our website www.hisbelovedoftexas.com cost is $20 per girl. Scholarships are available and we only have 20 spots left. They are going fast so register now.

In every story of suffering there is a story of hope, and in this episode Megan allows us to journey into a deep suffering she and her family endured when her brother, Matt, fought the good fight, ultimately succumbing to cancer at the young age of 38. She shares the deep sorrow of losing Matt, but also God's transformative grace in her brothers' life and the life of her and her family. Mercy is real and suffering has a place here. It's hard yet deeply beautiful.

Today on the podcast we have the fourth founding member of His Beloved of Texas and our best friend Katrina Rodriguez. Katrina works for the Central Texas Coalition for life, a non-profit that organizes volunteers to pray on the sidewalk in front of abortion clinics. They also offer women in crisis pregnancies hope and access to services to support them during and after pregnancy. There has been a lot of talk about abortion lately in Texas after the passing of the Heartbeat bill, which bans abortion after a heartbeat can be detected around 6 weeks of age. We talk about how we can help women during this time and how our lives have been effected by praying on the frontlines of this spiritual battle. We hope that this episode stirs your heart to serve women in crisis pregnancy in your area or to donate to a non-profit that is meaningful to you.

We're baaaaaack!  And boy are we excited!  There has been a lot of life lived since the end of our 2nd season AND our last worship night in June that we didn't even know where to start.  LeighAnna joined us for this kick-off episode where we each brought something to the table to discuss what God did in our hearts and we just all took turns.  It was so fun seeing how the Holy Spirit moved not only through our conversation but also over the summer.  We discussed so many things, but two in particular have really stood out in my heart; praying like Saint Monica and soaring like Eagles.  Thank you for listening, share if you feel led, and  know that YOU are on our hearts always.

Our guest on the podcast today is new Catholic author and special needs mother Christy Wilkens. Her new book with Ave Maria Press, “Awakening at Lourdes: How an Unanswered Prayer Healed Our Family and Restored Our Faith” will be released this fall. It's the story of her family's pilgrimage to Lourdes with the their child Oscar, the miracles they received and the ones they didn't, and why the wide gulf between those two things is awash in grace upon grace. On this episode Christy speaks candidly about doubting God and losing hope all together. Throughout her story Our Lady just won’t let her walk away from God and pulls her close to the Lord at every turn. Christy is also releasing a new eBook today called The Message of Lourdes, explaining why the words of the 1858 apparition are for all of us today, too. Kendra and Megan both have daughters who are turning 13 this month! Ack!! This stage of motherhood can seem scary and overwhelming. Today we have a dear friend from Austin who we both look up to and love to learn from. Tanja Swartz is a wise mother of four: two girls in college and two boys in high school. She tells us about how her family navigates social media, cell phone usage, talking about pornography, sex,  and Theology of the Body.  If you are interested in learning more about Theology of the Body visit Jason Evert’s website. It is filled with books, videos, TOB studies for middle school, high school, and adults. He also has a new podcast. We have personally read and used many of his resources and highly recommend them. Www.chastity.com Also, during the podcast Megan mentions a fantastic podcast episode that dives deeper into social media usage and cell phones. It was episode #340 of the Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey and her guest Tracy Foster is the co-founder and Executive Director of START | Stand Together and Rethink Technology.  It has some of the best advice for dealing with media with children and teens that we have ever come across. Go give it a listen if you are interested in hearing more.  https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/happy-hour-340-tracy-foster/id880741976?i=1000499192889
