Thinking through the experience of examining one's self in relation to spaces of judgment, assumptions, and perceptions. My hope is to finally arrive at conclusions that open up a window of opportunity for growth, greater understanding and courage in the face of the many situations that bring about the question of what truly one's value is.
Conversations with Ghanaian musician Worlasi
Worlasi born and raised as Worlasi Langani in Agbozume in the Volta region of Ghana is a musician and a painter. His abilities cut across music and figure painting. Worlasi’s interest in music started while listening to radio, and sampling the beats of songs he felt didn’t quite meet high standards. His inspiration to do music comes from personal experiences and what goes on around him, which he translates into instrumentals and then to words.

In collaboration with multidisciplinary artist Martin Peeves we begin with October of last years NEXT LEVEL themed celebration of digital cultures and freedoms.
A critical reflection of digital developments and a get together of some of the brightest minds on the continent by REPUBLICA in partnership with the IMPACT HUB Accra in a two part series.
Martin Peeves bio:
My work across various mediums from traditional art to new-media art forms and fashion is heavily steeped in theories of the everyday mundane, post-modernism, do-it-yourself aesthetics & notions of outsider (art) practices.
This sense of approach enables an inclusivity aspect in my creative process enabling me to incorporate and utilise my surroundings in my work. Some common themes of my work include, pop and internet cultural iconography, parody, personalisation of branding, advertising narratives and play on characterizations through performative acts and social media platforms.

Connecting the dots through music is what la Cris makes in her journey called TOCANTANDO. Giving light to analogue and digital, traditional heritage and improvisation she creates a soundscape that will show you an awaken way to experience songs with body music, electronics (loopstation and synths) and spontaneous instruments. She was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canarias (1990) and since 3 years ago is being touring around the world (São Paulo, Germany, Paris, London, Spain, Athens and Accra) developing an educoartistical nomad project. Her musical studies have travelled to ESMuC (Barcelona), POP AKADEMIE (Mannheim) and many streets.

A proud Burundian of many cultures. A devoted artist of many layers. A woken twenty-something of many tales.
Having lived in five countries of four different continents, life instilled a lasting excitement for (self-)reflection, mirrored in her character and music. bq is Soul, Hip Hop, Electro, Afro Folk and Spoken Word. She is beat-biased song blended with spheric sounds from her synthesizer, conversational lyrics and dynamic vocals.
Her beats are built the non-conventional way using body music, effects and a loop station which she often recreates live for viewers to witness.
After five years of creation in college and a year of touring the world singing for Cirque du Soleil, the artist believes it is overdue to unleash. bq is new to most ears but feels familiar to most souls.

Conversations with Jane Awindor, better known by her stage name Efya, she is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter and actress from Kumasi.
From her home in Accra we explored Efya as Jane Awindor and the multiplicities that come along with being an artist widely known by the public and one of the few female artists whose career spans almost a decade.

The results I hope is a better understanding of the many moments that lead to performance, the formation of an idea or moment of enlightenment in regards to everyday life.
Art can be the answer or a question.
