Have you ever been on a hike surrounding the wonders of Gods earth, yet the only direction you can seem to face is straight down? Despite the magnificent height of the trees, the blue of the lakes, or the vastness of the landscape, your eyes are solely focused on not tripping over your own two feet.
Although we're clearly not trying to get you to deviate your footwork and cause an injury, the principle stands that in order to even enjoy the difficulty of the hike, you need to be able to see the beauty surrounding you. Is life not the same?
In today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, Brandon recounts a personal experience while hiking that caused him to look away from the trail and out towards the beauty of the hike. Through this personal connection, Brandon explains how this same theory can be applied into your life.

Today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast is a re-run episode
Have you ever stopped to question whether your dreams and ambitions are truly your own, or have they been shaped by societal expectations, family pressures, or other external factors? While it's natural to be influenced by those around us, it's important to take a step back and reflect on what truly drives us. Meditation is a practice of paramount importance in fostering mental well-being, focus, and self-awareness. By setting aside time for quiet contemplation, individuals can cultivate a sense of inner peace and balance that transcends the challenges of daily life. As the mind becomes clearer and more tranquil, stress levels are reduced, and emotional resilience is bolstered. This fosters an environment in which creativity, problem-solving, and mental acuity can thrive. Consequently, meditation not only nurtures personal growth, but it also enhances one's ability to navigate complex situations and manage priorities effectively.
The increased productivity that results from a regular meditation practice stems from the enhanced mental clarity and focus that meditation fosters. As individuals learn to distance themselves from intrusive thoughts and distractions, they develop the ability to concentrate more deeply on tasks at hand. This heightened focus enables them to work more efficiently and effectively, resulting in improved outcomes and a greater sense of accomplishment. Moreover, the emotional stability that meditation promotes helps to maintain motivation, even in the face of adversity or setbacks. In this way, meditation serves as a powerful tool for boosting productivity, both in professional and personal spheres, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling and balanced life.
That's why on today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast features Cyrus, or better known as, The Mental Level. Through his various social media platforms, The Mental Level has been able to help hundreds of thousands of individuals discover the power of meditation & help them recognize that meditation is a practice for the strong. Inside this episode, you can expect to learn simple meditation practices as well as the concept of why meditating is actually productive - something that absolutely shock host, Brandon Davis.

Well, have you ever tried to smuggle a bag of candy through airport security? Those TSA agents have no sense of humor! So, in order to cover the cost of their eagle-eyed candy detection services, the airport has to charge an arm and a leg for that sweet, sweet sugar rush.
And let's not forget the ambiance! Dollar stores might have a certain charm, but they just can't compete with the thrill of being surrounded by overpriced snacks and over-stimulated travelers. I mean, who needs to buy a postcard when you can spend $10 on a bag of Skittles? It's all part of the airport experience!
With all jokes aside, have you ever sat back to imagine why airport candy and other snacks cost so much more than food you can find at the local dollar tree? Of course, the simple answer is once your in the airport, you can't really leave. This makes it so all the shops inside can charge out the wazoo for your bag of pringles or package of skittles.
Now, take that a step further. In your personal growth journey, would you consider yourself to be worth the value of airport candy or dollar store candy? In today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, Brandon dives deep into the concept of providing more value inside your life and the lives of others. Through practical examples, even a fool would be able to take something away from this episode.

Project 50 is a mental toughness challenge similar to 75 Hard, which involves completing 50 consecutive days of specific physical and mental tasks. The challenge includes tasks such as waking up before 8 AM, adhering to some form of a morning routine, exercising for an hour a day, reading 10 pages in a book, dedicating 1 hour towards a new skill, completing a healthy diet plan, and tracking all your results in a journal. Project 50 is a good challenge because it helps individuals develop mental resilience, discipline, and perseverance. By committing to and completing the challenge, individuals can build a sense of accomplishment and confidence, which can carry over into other areas of their lives. Additionally, the specific tasks can help promote healthy habits and personal growth.
In today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, MJ Kimbrough joined host, Brandon Davis, to discuss his journey through Project 50. MJ is a young hustler at the age of just 18 YEARS OLD! Preparing for certain situations can certainly be important, such as studying for an exam or rehearsing for a performance. However, there are also many situations where over-preparation can actually hinder your success. When we become too focused on trying to control every aspect of a situation, we can become rigid and inflexible, which can make it difficult to adapt to unexpected changes or obstacles that arise. This can ultimately lead to increased anxiety, stress, and decreased performance. Moreover, not preparing can also offer valuable opportunities for growth and learning. When we are forced to think on our feet and improvise, we are challenged to use our creativity and problem-solving skills. This can lead to new insights, perspectives, and strategies that we may not have otherwise discovered. It can also help us develop greater resilience and confidence in our abilities to handle challenging situations. So, while it's important to prepare in certain circumstances, we should also be open to the benefits of embracing uncertainty and learning to improvise. In today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, listen to Brandon as he dives into the exact reasoning on why sometimes you need to stop preparing. If you want to get in contact with Brandon, click this link - https://linktr.ee/getoveryourself_podcastEnjoy the episode and always remember to GET OVER YOURSELF!

It's classified as a challenge for a reason. Over 90% of people who start 75 hard end up failing after the first couple of weeks. Between the physical exertion and mental fatigue, nobody is immune to the failure. Despite that high rate of failure, Chase Stenzel, was able to conquer the challenge and learn about himself in the process. Sports is one of the most amazing things on planet Earth. It's a competition that drives 1 or more parties to push themselves beyond their capacities, limits, and inner-doubt to become something more. Sports are something that touches the lives of many, whether that be through playing at some point in your life, watching, or coaching. No matter what the sport is, excitement can be felt and principles can be learned.
In today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, Brandon interviews Jarrod Robertson (AKA Coach Rhino). Rhino, like most youth in the USA, fell in love with sports at a young age. Between football, baseball, and basketball, Rhino always had some sort of game, scrimmage, or practice going on... until one day he didn't. Today's episode is potentially too sweet to handle for some of our listeners ;). Brandon Davis, host of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, interviewed the owner of Dirty Dough cookies. If you haven't been keeping up with the news lately, Dirty Dough is currently being sued by their larger and more obvious competitor, Crumbl Cookies. In today's episode, Brandon asks Bennett Maxwell about the successes and failures he's seen inside his journey of being an entrepreneur and how despite the fact that they are getting sued, how Dirty Dough continues to be growing at a rapid pace.
On the same note, Brandon dives deep into the topic of wellness and mental health awareness with Bennett. Bennett has 3 younger kids and recognized early on in his stage of being a father that kids these days are more susceptible to mental health concerns due to social media. As Bennet was trying to discover ways in which he could help the cause, he realized that a cookie company could actually help. Through Dirty Dough's messages of self-acceptance, looking on the inner appearance rather than the beauty of the outward appearance, and opening up wellness centers with each franchised location, they truly are trying to help the Mental Health Crisis around the world.

July is officially upon us and it's time to face reality- the year is halfway over! In today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, we dive into the concept of simplifying our goals in order to achieve a bigger picture or outcome. Oftentimes we can begin to get scared of the very resolutions or goals we set for ourselves and it can almost seem impossible to achieve them. However, if we can start breaking our goals down into simpler tasks to eventually accomplish more, the outcome will be the same end result, but with a more successful process behind it.

Have you ever been in a situation where someone trusts you as their confidant when life seems to be draining them down? They open up to you about their relationships, work, emotions, and other stresses their lives place on them day in and day out. Although those situations may be awkward at times and you may feel clueless as to how you can truly help, there is always a good way about getting through the process.
If you continuously make your presence felt, you can show to that person that you're there to help and are willing to make the difference needed. Take your actions, emotions, and thoughts further than ever before and make your presence known!
Thanks for listening to today's episode and thanks to Olso for making the music heard on the podcast.
ALWAYS REMEMBER TO GET OVER YOURSELF!
Have you ever started a job, relationship, routine, or project and eventually thought to yourself, "Why am I even doing this?" When we first start out on a new exciting challenge, our bodies and brains are equipped and prepared to face unknown circumstances. However, the catch is that over time, we begin to question our decisions entirely. We begin to lose site of the reasons we first set out on our own unique and individualized journeys and question if it's still even the right path for us.
In today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, we are diving into the reason why. Why did you make that goal? Why did you get into that relationship? Why are you still working that tough job? Why, why, why?

Have you ever been traveling down the road when you see a sign that warns of an oncoming speedbump? On most cases, drivers tend to realize that speedbumps are merely a part of driving. In some instances however, speedbumps can become a major hinderance inside of our driving patterns. In fact, some people will swerve all over the road in an effort to not get disrupted by the speedbump.
In today's episode of the podcast, I'll be leading us through the conversation of what the speedbumps of life really look like and how we can enjoy them rather than try and avoid them!
A huge shoutout always goes to my friend, Olso. Thank you for the music on the show.
Also a huge shoutout to my audience. I appreciate you (even though I don't personally know many of you) and want to always remind you to GET OVER YOURSELF!
Have you ever been waiting in line to grab your morning coffee or your afternoon lunch at your favorite fast-food chain? Now, imagine that moment. You see the menu, you have your order on the tip of your tongue and your money bursting out of your hand... then the weirdo who just walked into the store cuts you off in line.
Well, as silly as that may sound, it's actually quite irritating sometimes. So in today's episode, Robbie Swale and I dive into the concept of waving past the little things in life that can bring us down and how we can remain at a happier state of mind.

In today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, guest speaker and real estate agent Justin Loncaric tells a passionate story of a successful upbringing that turned sideways very quickly. Justin was born and raised in Canada where he has spent the majority of his life. Justin comes from a long line of real estate agents, so long that he considers real estate a part of his blood. Due to the fact that both his parents worked very hard to create a good life for his family, Justin was raised in wealth and with all the latest gadgets and equipment to make him successful.
It wasn't until later in his life that Justin realized that the world didn't owe him everything anymore. He went from having the ideal childhood that any kid could dream up, to the sudden reality of recognizing that he didn't know everything and he needed to be humble - FAST. Justin was fired by his own mother and spiraled down for quite sometime until he met with a real estate and life coach that not only saved his business, but his mindset as well. With only $24 in his bank account, Justin hired the coach and hasn't looked back since. His life and career have been more happy and successful than ever before and he feels proud that he's created something for himself. Justin's main goal now is to provide a wonderful life for his children while teaching them valuable life lessons along the way and most importantly, to help them check their ego's at the door.

In today's episode, we discuss the idea of a Growth Mindset over a Fixed Mindset. This strategy is based off of research conducted and developed by leading Psychologist, Carol Dweck. Although I wish I could explain it as well as her, she is the main source of knowledge. Because of this, in the episode I discuss ways to use a Growth Mindset and why it's important. I highly recommend reading more on this topic from the expert herself. Below, I will include some of my favorite articles, books, and TedTalks about Growth Mindsets.
