This is a very special (and bittersweet) episode because it's episode 100 and the final episode(for now) of Lead a Life You Can Love!

Over the past 100 episodes, I’ve shared tools, mindset shifts, offered you guidance, and stories to help you live with intention, take aligned action, and create a life and career you truly love. And today, I’m reflecting on the journey, the lessons I want to leave with you, and what it really takes to live in alignment with your vision and values.

I’ll be sharing my biggest takeaways from this show, why aligned living is the foundation for a fulfilling life, and how your mindset shapes everything you create. Consider this my “legacy episode”, the one I’d want you (or even my daughter one day) to remember most.

And while this is the last episode (for now), this isn’t the end. These 100 episodes will always be here for you to revisit, reflect on, and grow through again and again.

If you’ve ever found encouragement, clarity, or motivation from this show, thank you for being part of this journey. I’m so grateful for you. And as I move on to my own “next level,” I hope you’ll continue leading a life you can love.

This episode is all about why we should take a “friendventory” and how. The people we choose to spend most of our time with have a tremendous influence on our lives (for better or worse). So, we should take a look at who those people in our inner circle are and we need to choose them wisely. Being intentional about who we spend our time with, and making sure that it’s on people who add value to our life in some way, will lend to us being happier, healthier, and more successful in our lives overall!

The idea off "work-life balance" is a lie and can be misleading because really, work is PART OF life, not half of it. The goal shouldn’t be to achieve some perfect "work-life balance" but rather to achieve more balance and fulfillment overall.

In order to do that we have to look at ourselves like the complex humans that we are. With many different needs and desires across different compartments of our life: Personal, Career, Intellectual, Physical, Emotional, Family, & Spirituality. And each one of these areas supports the other areas.

In this awesome conversation with Chad Brown, Leadership Coach & Associate Partner at Take New Ground, we talk about the difference between compartmentalization and integration.

Many people spend most of their lives highly focused on two compartments: Career and Family. The other compartments, that are important pieces of who we are, tend to go dormant. This creates the feeling of being unfulfilled, or like certain areas of your life are competing against each other (compartmentalization) instead of working to support each other(integration).

If you want to start living a more harmonious life where you feel less stress and more satisfaction across all areas of your life, this episode is for you!

Other topics covered:

  • How to achieve balance by staying laser focused on your vision
  • Thoughts on employers offering “work-life balance” and how to have conversations around it
  • How taking work personally will create better results and stronger relationships
  • How to approach integrating different compartments of your life into your busy schedule

This episode explains why resolutions often fail; why anti-resolutions are more effective, more fun , and how you can ensure that the goals you set for yourself really do matter according to the bigger vision you have for your life.

Having clarity around any changes you plan to make in your life makes all the difference and will lead to more success in you leading the life you want to live.

When setting anti-resolutions or goals it’s really helpful to ask yourself these 3 simple questions:
1.Why is this important to me? Connect to your personal values & vision.
2.Who is this really for and who will help hold me accountable?
3.How am I going to accomplish it? Be specific and start where you can believe it.

What we do today matters for our future. We don't have to be content with right now we just need to be committed to right now. It's great to wish for more and want more out of life. We just have to remember that being present, focused, and committed to what we are doing right now is what will get us to that idealistic future for ourselves. When we lose sight of the present we not only forget to enjoy life and soak in all the experiences that teach us something along the way, but when we are living with our heads in the clouds, wishing we had more or thinking we deserve more, we are neglecting people we care about, and this will hinder our personal growth in the process.Be present. Be focused. Your future is right now.
