Rev. Brit Bolerjack from OKC First Church. Have you always wanted to better care for the environment, but you don't know where to start? Changing our lives to reverse environmental degradation can feel like a daunting task! In 2018, I tried to go "zero waste" for 30 days and it opened my eyes to a whole new world of sustainable living. Less became more and simplicity was always the answer. Together, we will explore how God might be calling us to a life of care for creation, wherever we are!
Rev. Dr. Svetlana Khobnya from NTC. Learning from Paul on how we can simplify our lives, physically, emotionally, practically and/or spiritually.
Rev. Dr. Kelly Yates from OKC First Church. We are transformed by participating in the five means of grace: conferencing/worship, sacraments, prayer, Scripture, and fasting. These five means of grace produce five results: we love God, rejoice in God, give thanks, pray constantly, and love others.
Rev. Teanna Sunberg. The prophet Micah puts it so simply for us, “God has shown you, Human, what is good and what the Lord requires of you. To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.’ In this workshop, we will talk about some of the global justice issues that we face in the 21st century: refugeeism/displacement, slavery, genocide and religious bias (including Christian nationalism). We will take a look at how Jesus practically fulfilled and lived out this call to justice, mercy, and humility. And, we will ask the question, ‘Could my simple act of hospitality be an act of justice that significantly impacts our world for the good of God?’ You will leave the workshop with some fresh ideas about a theology of hospitality and some practical, simple ways to act justly in your world.
Jaime Lidstone from Gateway Community Church, Perth. When I think of simplifying my thoughts often turn to the monastic life and vows of poverty. With that, images come to my mind of the sisters in Call The Midwife or The Sound of Music. Maybe you watched those over Christmas? In some ways I find I can relate to Maria (soon to be Von Trapp) … the desire for the simple life but somehow not quite fitting in.

In my short time with you on your ladies weekend I’ll be sharing some things I’ve been learning about monastic life and how it relates to my every day discipleship, and yours.
Rev. Brit Bolerjack from OKC First Church. Perhaps this is one of the most important callings for us as Christians today. In our consumerist, capitalist contexts, it can be easy to get caught up in business, apathy, and even luxury! For many of us, 2020 revealed us that we were living beyond our means--maybe we were too busy, too spendy, or never content enough, grateful enough. There’s a growing hunger to hang on to some of the simplicity that lockdowns have foisted upon us--and not just "get back to normal." Together we will explore how God might be calling us to live moving forward.
