After falling in the digital cracks, this episode is finally released about 6 months after being recorded. We catch up with Shannon Shorter fresh off a trip to China. While he was basically home long enough to wash clothes and hit the road again, he took some time to share about China and look forward to his trip to Egypt. The life of a professional athlete is very busy, but Shannon tells how he stays grounded with God during all the chaos.
Can you remember your dreams? Do you dream in color? Who controls the alarm clock in your house? There is a lot that happens in this episode. After some brief Super Bowl picks, the conversation about dreams goes all over the place. At the end of the episode Russell shares his idea of a dream guest for the show, which sparks a debate. We also have a special guest appearance by Lily!
Kaleb and Abbie McKinnie join the show as we talk about Veterans Day. We start off with a little bit of history like when and why it even started. Stefano and Kaleb were not exactly sure what day it falls on, but they nailed the proper spelling. Then hard hitting reporter Abbie asks Daniel some great questions as they find out a little bit about his time in the Army.
We are back with more mistakes and clips that hit the cutting room floor the first time around. Stretching back over the last several months, we hope these forgotten about clips bring a smile to your face!

Lindy Cunningham shares her story of faith, love, and perseverance. Lindy was on a skiing vacation when a tragic injury changed the course of her, and her family's, life. She was an athletic and active adult, plus a new mother of a 7 month month old, when life completely changed in the blink of an eye. Being life-flighted off a mountain to undergo life saving surgery was just the beginning or her journey. Hear how God has always been the focus - even in the midsts of the initial accident. Lindy shares the highs and the lows of walking by faith through hard times and giving God total control.

Stefano and his family took a trip to the theme park Dollywood. In this follow up bonus episode we get to hear his review - what was good, what was not so good, and did he skip out on any rides? There was a video shot on location that gives us some in the moment insight during the trip. Spoiler alert: Stefano's daughter was the bravest in the family! The guys also get into a little discussion comparing Dollywood to some other theme parks.
We are having some fun in the midst of summer. Russell gives us a brain bender challenge and then Ty phones in with one of his own. All of the guys then tell the 5 survival items they would need to survive on a deserted island. Russell bends the rules slightly and Stefano plays games with himself. Daniel gets called out for being confused in a group text. Then Russell tells a story about traveling for kids sports, sitting with the other team, and how to get in a tournament for free. His wife Amanda may or may not be a little too trusting. There is a discussion about theme parks and Stefano plans an upcoming trip to Dollywood. Ryan wraps things up by trying to stump everyone with trivia questions.

James gives us a great view of how to have a deeper, more meaningful relationship with God.
James is a book of the bible that gives some instruction of how to have true faith in God and what that looks like in our daily lives. In this episode we look at the first two chapters and discuss some of those topics. What does our faith walk really look like? Do we count consider hard times as joy? Do we doubt God even as we are praying and asking for something? Can we really lie to ourselves more easily than we lie to others? Do we fear demons more than we fear God? We hit on all of this and more. Plus we blindside Ty Dean with a phone call and a heavy hitting question.
We are kicking this week off with some jokes! Some are better than others, but let's be honest - even a bad joke can bring a smile to your face. Just after their son, Reece, was born they were told there was an issue with his heart. Reece had a heart procedure done at 4 days old, open heart surgery at 13 years old, and a whole lot of details in between. Hear how God has answered prayers and been with them all along the way.

It's the final episode of the Job series! God shows up in a whirlwind and sets the record straight for several people. We get a glimpse of the creation process as God goes through some of the specifics of his design - measurements of the Earth's foundation, the dwelling place of light, storehouses of snow, the limits of the waves and water, and even the constellations of the stars. Behemoth, the first of the works of God, is described to Job, but was this an animal Job would have known in his time? Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar have to go humble themselves and ask Job to pray to God on their behalf. So many elegant details crammed into a few short chapters to wrap things up.
There is a major plot twist in the Book of Job this week. A brand new person, Elihu, is introduced and there are questions upon questions with this event. Where did he come from? How long was he listening to the conversation? Where did the conversation take place? Where does he go when he leaves? Did he write the book of Job? Was he right or wrong in his assessment of Job and his three friends? All of this and more debate too. Spoiler - we don't all agree with each other's take this week.
Job makes his final arguments in this episode. As he tries to maintain his integrity, Job continues to plead his case to his friends and change their minds about him. Job also reminds them how respected he used to be and the high position he had achieved. Job searches for answers from God.
Does it seem that people who do evil prosper without judgement of punishment from God? Job and his friends have that very discussion and we take an in depth look at what they say. Chapter 25 wraps up the arguments from Zophar, Eliphaz, and Bildad before there is a shift in the story layout.
This episode really gets deep with several questions that lead to conversation such as how do you describe Waffle House to someone? Is Butterfinger a top tier candy bar? Ketchup flavored potato chips - yes or no? Where was Job's wife after the start of the story? Did God or Satan perform the acts against Job? We wrap things up with Jesus is the foundation of our faith.
Brandon and Zach are back with us to continue with our study of Job. We discuss Job's thinking that he is blameless, but still calamity is upon him. However, his hope remains in God even through the worst time of his life. Eliphaz accuses Job of not fearing God, and believing his own truth that he speaks. In the world of golf it is Masters week and we all make predictions on who we think we walk away with the green jacket.
As we pick up in chapter 8 we get to hear from Job's other two friends that came to visit him - Bildad and Zophar. The conversation turns a little spicy as the friends confront Job and give their views of why so many bad things are happening to him. We kick Ryan out of the studio and bring in two ringers in his place.

Joe and Yvonne Bruce are with us and share a few stories from their time as overseas missionaries. They served separately on multiple continents all around the world for decades. But God was also working to bring them together to serve as a married couple. We hear stories of mostly unreached peoples high in the mountains, having to learn multiple languages, and working in communist countries - just to name a few. Through their stories we are able to see the Great Commission in action.

Ryan gets called out for movies he still has not seen and using his cup as a weapon. The real treasure of the episode is Brittany Howren. She shares how God protected her through a childhood riddled with divorce, abuse, a massive car wreck, and more. Her marriage was ending until God performed a miracle that transformed her family.
Ryan is back after an extended break and he is still trying to shake off the baby brain fog. Brad Jenkins is the founder of Until They Know, a ministry that serves the people of the Dominican Republic. He tells some of the hardships the people face there - human trafficking, modern slavery, and more. We also get some insight into parenting and what it is like to send your kids off to college when you are old, tired, and broke.We hear why relationships matter in everything we do.
Jesus thought parables were an effective teaching tool. They have withstood the test of time and are sill applicable today, so we touch on 4 of them and how they relate to us today. Adam French is back with us again. This time we go into detail about the new ministry facility he is starting called Recovery Refuge. It's a taylor made resident recovery program that designs treatment plans to each individual. We get into some addiction statistics and learn that the fight is much closer to us than we may think. Adam also discusses the Spanish translation of his book Mandenity. More than 4300 prisoners use Mandenity as a treatment tool every month.
Who does everyone turn to when you can't find something? Who do you call when you want to tell great news or sad news? We all know moms hold things together so we brought in 3 moms with 10 kids between them that range in age from 5 years old all the way to 40 something. That is a lot of experience and motherly advice to share for every stage of parenting! Ann, Dana, and Sondra share things that worked great for their kids and also share some things that they wish they could have done a little different. Sondra has a rocket arm when it comes to throwing a football. Daniel makes up several new words.

Our friend Andrew Phillips makes his podcast debut and we dive in to all kinds of topics - kids sleeping habits, night terrors, raccoons wreaking havoc again, coaching kids sports, and more. We also hear how Andrew's parents went through a kidney transplant and the change that has been in their lives. Most of the episode is spent on learning about enneagrams - what is it, and where do each of us fall on the scale. We go deep into some personality traits, good and not so good, for each of us. Ryan is shocked to learn he has been calling someone by the wrong name for an extended period of time.
It's the one year anniversary for the show and we drop some big news! As we talk about our new technology, we also get into how young people date today and the role technology plays in that. Jana Claire shares some struggles of overcoming major challenges as she prepared to go to college. She also shares what it is like to have an adopted sibling come live with you. Ryan forgets who sponsors the show, and we try to talk about Pam's random shoe finds around the city. There was no traction on that topic....again.

We also hear how we are all made for a purpose, on purpose, with purpose. Drew also likes to E.A.T. and doesn't mind telling others about it. When we talk about basketball, Drew tells how he was driven as a child to practice and how that carried over into his adult life. There are some connections that go back to high school between Drew, Stefano, and Daniel.
We take a closer look at a place Jesus would often visit, and where he spent his final moments of freedom before being arrested and sent to the cross. We dive deep into the location, significance in Jesus' time, and the spiritual battle that went on the night Jesus was betrayed. Ryan did a lot of research into Yosemite National Park, but there was very little biblical information to be found. What makes a zoo a zoo, and when should it be called something else? We also talk about behind the scenes show information and the perils of not having a live producer. What would happen if all the world's technology disappeared?
We are back with Mark and Gissele to hear the exciting conclusion of how God brought them together. How did they meet in person, and did Mark really want to meet? Gissele never wants to miss a cookout in any country. Many people in multiple countries all praying for the same thing and none of them know it. Let's talk about immigration! Stefano's allergies are still running wild into the microphone. All of that and more in this episode!
Mark and Gissele were on different continents, different life paths, speaking different languages. Unknown to them, God was preparing them both separately to be together. Their story of how they met, became friends, and fell in love could only have been orchestrated by a divine plan. As they were seeking to do what God wanted, he brought them together from opposite sides of the world. This could be a movie, but we will start with a podcast!

Amanda Dunlap is the Clinical Executive Director for The Next Door, a faith based organization that helps women dealing with substance abuse and mental health issues. They partner with the prison system in Tennessee to help women transition from incarceration to a healthy and productive life after release. We also hear how Amanda and her husband Matt survived a house fire and the personal growth that came from that.

Or maybe an image we saw as a child shaped what we thought the bible said about a specific story. In this episode we look at a couple of examples of how we can sometimes have the details wrong.
Pro basketball player Shannon Shorter started his career in Mexico making $500 a month. Being faithful with a little, God continued to give Shannon more and more.
