Are you a Star Wars fan? So am I? Do you listen to Podcasts? So do I! Do you want to have more than just Star Wars news? So do I! Look, the bottom line is this, I have loved Star Wars since dad brought the VHS tapes home as a kid in the mid 90s. Maybe you were lucky enough to remember the hype when the movies first released or you just came to see the depth of the stories on the back of The Mandolorian? Either way, George Lucas has created one of the most loved stories in recent history and I want to talk about it. So... Join me, and together we can rule the galaxy as host and subscriber
Reva, What do you think of her?
A lot of strange and uncivilised comments floating around the galaxy about Moses - I don't think we need to waste any more of our time with the people that are simply out to attack an actress simply trying to make her way in the galaxy.
My Question is, what is her character up to? What are her real motivations. Who is she really behind all those layers!
Let me know what you think! :)
The first of my Kenobi Series ramblings. Going to take this one one a slightly different way. Honing our focus a little bit at a time rather than munching on a fast food extra large! It means most of my speculations will end up getting missed, but never fear, they'll probably still appear!
In this ramble, I randomly start talking about the issues that some people are having with the parent retcon on ANH and if it really matters.
HAS KENOBI KILLED A NEW HOPE?
What are your thoughts? Let me know on our twitter account! :)
This is the Finale!
Part 4 all in one go - it's quite a bit to chew off in a short period of time - but hoping this will give you another taste of what to expect when you read the book. It also should give some insight into who and what we might see in the show! :)
So far, this has been my favourite section. It has been filled with a little bit of fighting, relationship, secrecy and a bit more depth into the thinking of Kenobi post Mustafar and the fall od Anakin.
Definitely looking forward to some of these themes reappearing next week, but if this is all we ever get on the mindset of Kenobi I would also be more than content!
Enjoy! :)
Thing are little quieter in this section of the book. the chaos of previous pages give way to more reflection and the revelation of Ben's surname, which turns out to be quite a popular name on Tatooine strangely enough!
Again, more background building for the chapters to come and the story to unfold!
Things really are heating up for Ben under the two suns of Tatooine!
How long will he be able to remain anonymous. How long before Luke get caught up in the chaos. How long before he slips up!
Stay tuned as we continue reading through a really great depiction of a much loved character!
Welcome to Part two of Kenobi - The Killing Ground!
Quite an ominous title isn't is? Well in this episode we don't really get to see much killing, in fact, nothing at all until the final line of Chapter 15!
Who knows what is going to happen from here. Tensions are rising among the Tuskens, Annileen isn't all that excited about the influence of Orrin on her kids and we get a little bit more of the emotions surrounding both Annileen and Ben.
Enjoy! :)
Well, the scene has been well and truly set. The next section is called The Killing Fields, which sounds pretty intense compared to, 'The Oasis'.
Chapters 7-11 of Kenobi reveal the dangers around little Luke's adoptive family and shows some connections between Episode 2, Anakins Fall and the present day threat of the Tuskens!
Enjoy!
Episode 3 of my chat about J. J. Millers novel, Kenobi!
If you don't have a copy, get it bought!:)
The scene has been set, the characters have been introduced to us the readers, now its about time they met each other. The hooded man comes into full view in chapter 6 after the fast pace chase scene of chapter 5 - What will the tuskers do next is my big question!
Hang and stay tuned as we chat about this in light of the new show coming out May 27th! :)
In todays episode we get to know a few more of the characters a little better, setting the scene for quite an exciting chapter 5 and 6, so do hang around and enjoy the rest of this book by Miller in preparation for Kenobi on May 27th!
Enjoy!
Hello There and welcome back to the show!
Since the Book of Boba Fett came to an end, I have been taking a break from podcasting generally. But with Kenobi on the horizon, there had to be some preparation done for the show - what better way to do that than to read J. J. Millers Best selling book!
I've enjoyed the prologue and the opening chapter - why not join in as we read together episode by episode! :)
Are you filled with Anxiety and self doubt? Well, Star Wars is here for some more self loathing, with a little bit of a boast in this episode.
In this episode I chat about the The Clone Wars Season 3, Episode 7 from a more thoughtful point of view.
Hope you enjoy it!
Philippians 4:6-7 also got a mention! :)
It is the grand finale, and grand it was!
If you have yet to watch the epic ness that was and is In the Name of Honour (spelt correctly) then go away and come back later!
In this show I have a lengthy chat about what we saw and make known a few of my ideas around the questions raised by the show.
Let me know what you thought on pretty much any Social media platform by searching for TheChosenOneSWP! :)
The time has come. My last instalment of TBOBF predictions. This is day before the grand finale arrives - what are you hoping to see and witness with your eyes tomorrow!!
Embo, Bossk, other bounty hunters?
What about Han Solo!?
Also discussed, is Din Djarin weak?
I think he is more complex than we think.
So another show...mando show in the book of Boba Fett? How do you feel about that? Does it bother you or are you just so glad we got such a wide range of characters represented here that it doesn't even matter?
I'm in the latter camp - another great show - while not TBOBF heavy, it was still great to see the connections.
Subscribe for Tuesday episode of predictions and thoughts for Chapter 7! :)
Just a quick little chat about tomorrow's show - what are your thoughts on where this is all going? Why not drop me a message on twitter or Instagram! :)
Mando has lost his way, at least that's what it looks like from one point of view! In this episode I give a run down of my favourite part of the episode - the Naboo Starfighter reveal!
Enjoy! :)
Has this been the best hour of Star Wars, or are people just being a little dramatic? In this episode I take the first act and break it down from my own fallible perspective!
Hope you enjoy the thoughts - more to come in the next episode! :)
Happy Boba Fett Eve - hope you enjoy my short little episode talking about what we might see tomorrow in Chapter 5 of the The Book of Boba Fett! :)
Enjoy!
Another review of boba's antics around Tatooine. This time we get the bigger picture teased and the background unraveled!
Some exciting thoughts ahead!
In this episode I have a little dander around episode 3 and expectations for episode 4. I know that is a dangerous thing to do, previsualisation is always going to be somewhat different. So I'm taking my thoughts with a pinch of salt.
What are your thoughts?
Well, well, well, what do we have here - another grumpy Star Wars fan to ignore! :P
Okay...I've tried to be balanced on this one, it isn't all bad, but its hard to remember the good because of how bad the bad was!
Back again to the sands of Tatooine for some tribal warfare and comic fanfare!
Between monster wookiees, twinned slugged and another Star Wars train raid, we are in for one sweet ride!
Hope you enjoy the show!
So, it has been a week since Ep01 of the Boob of Boba Fett dropped on to D+! It was a great watch, but as last weeks show highlighted, I don't think it was perfect.
HOWEVER - After a few day of mulling it over, I figured a second episode was called for....Hope you enjoy!
MTFBY! :)
Another honest episode from another Star Wars fan. I loved the show, but there are some things that I think could have been done a little better. I feel like it was great, but that I am left with a few more unanswered questions, questions that I suspect will never be answered!
Anyway - have a listen to my thoughts and let me know yours!:)
In this short episode I do a little bit of rambling about one of Star War's most popular characters, Boba Fett.
What's your favourite things about this fan favourite?
The Challenge of Hope is to Overcome Corruption
Moogan smugglers have been sneaking in supplies, to increase their profits, they have been diluting a popular bottled tea with a hazardous chemical. These are Desperate times on Mandalore and the activities of the smugglers only deepen the concerns!
Also a chat about Boba again - obviously!
Lots of news in the Star Wars world...not all of it good though.
In this episode I have a look at the Kenobi sizzle reel and then get back into the Clone Wars! Another interesting story this time written by Katie Lucas.
Pantora in peril - Our opening shot is from the death of Chairman (Season 1 - Tresspass Episode 15). You can listen to my take on that along with (Jedi Crash and Defenders of Peace) in Episode 9 of the podcast - "The Morality Arc" in addition to Episode 23 of the show where I discuss the sequel chronologically speaking (Season 2 - Senate Murders Episode 15).
Chairman Baron Papanoida, who is played by Lucas in live action, is here voiced by Corey Burton who is said to have based his performance on Orsen Welles (The American director, actor, screenwriter, and producer).
As noted above, Katie Lucas was heavily involved in this episode. She is credited with various roles including Papanoida's daughter Chi Eekway one throughout the prequels. Her sister, Amanda also played various parts with the prequels, but on this occasion she takes on the role of Che Amanda. Ion, their fictional brother is based on Jett Lucas, their real world sibling.
Politcal restlessness and disorder looming. Papanoida's two daughters had been planning to leave Corruscant to go back to Pantora but are kindnapped by Greedo and a goat like character before they get the chance.
Padme and Anakin are seen talking about the naboo blockade and it impact on their meeting. Anakin as usual focusing his attention on their relationship whereas Padme has a much more pragmatic approach to the whole thing. It's his opinion that the Jedi can’t get involved in the kidnap investigation stating that this is a job for the local police. Padme and Ahsoka persuade him to allow a little leeway and he agrees to permit Ahsoka's plan to assist senator Chuchi
The question is asked, “Should you really proceed without the councils approval?" Anakin and Ahsoka Irish it off as common practice for them to simply do as they please.
Meanwhile, Count Dooku has already offered Separatists assistance in the search for the two sisters.
Ahsoka suggests that the girls may be held on the ships blockading the planet and they agree to split their resources. Papanoida and Ion investigate the scene of the crime and find that the Icon of the moon goddess has been removed from the shrine. Not only that, but it has greene Rodin blood on it - blood that turns out to be Greedos!
Off to Tatooine!
Welcome back again!
Some preliminaries - Subscribe, rate and review if you haven't done so already!
In this episode I continue with the Clone Wars rewatch and happened across possibly my favourite Jedi/Clone due! Also have a look at the Boba Fett documentary...hope you enjoy it!:)
Ep041 - The Domino Squad Arc (The Clone Wars Season 3 Ep 1-2)
Welcome to another Clone Wars Episode - in this show Jonah tells us a little bit about his favourite villain and we discuss the introduction to the fan favourite Domino squad!
Hope you enjoy! :)
We have all been waiting for another little bit of Boba news to drop...and drop it did.
I may have wanted some more flashback scenes and would have loved a journal style to the show recounting his journey to the throne...I am still pretty stoked to see the reformation of the underworld on and around Tatooine!
Well....what do we have here. Mixing things up a bit and started a little segment, Choose the the News! In this first take, I wreck my brain for 20minutes or so about my Book of Boba Fett speculations (no spoilers).
Also...quite timely...we have a look at the clone wars expression of little Boba growing into the bounty hunter we all know and love.
Subscribe and Share! :)
So, Ran was release a little while after the OT was completed, so we know that it couldn't have had much influence on that trilogy. But, as a film, it HAS influenced cinematography for almost 40years.
Whilst there a few, if any direct links to the Star Wars sequels, I can't help but see some of the same themes and techniques running through the movies - especially their use of colour.
I'll admit it, this might be one of my more technical and possibly boring episodes (if you're not into this stuff), but hopefully it will give you a richer experience of the movies the next time you sit down for a rewatch!
Akira Kurosawa's 'Ran' & The Star Wars Sequels,,,Enjoys
Moving on a little bit from Akira Kurosawa for a moment, but we aren't clear of old classic movies just yet.
Filoni pays tribute to the 1954 Godzilla movie in this Arc for any likeminded Fans.
Season 2 Episodes 18
The Zillo - Chose what is right, not what is easy.
Season 2 Episodes 19
The Zillo Beast Strikes Back - The Most Dangerous Beast is the beast within
The Clone Wars Season 2 Episode 17 is a homage to the late great Akira Kurosawa.
If you haven't listened to the other podcast episodes where I look at the man with the vision that inspired Lucas, go do that now.
If you know nothing about him, have a quick look at his movies and it will make Star Wars a little bit richer the next time you watch along.
So...it looks like we are doing a Kurosawa series...
In this episode Im drawing some thoughts from the famous movies, Seven Samurai.
If you haven't watched it, get some patience and make it all the way through the 3.5 hour long movie.
Its not an easy watch, but it is worth the effort!
Let me know what you think, but most of all, enjoy! :)
Everyone here loves Star Wars - at least that is the presumption. But the question is, what influenced it, or rather who?
Akia Kurosawa is described as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time and is most certainly one of the most influential.
In this episode, I just wanted to introduce you to a little bit of the man behind the masterpiece
I know I know - What have I been doing!
Living life as you know it - busy - nothing going as planned!
Just want to say a huge thank you to everyone that has been supporting the podcast so far. We've had a great run to start with and a major lull - but this is not the end!
We have moved house, Jonah is getting settled into school and plans for future episodes are in progress!
this is a little bit of a tester episode...
We are back!! Just in time for tomorrow's episode - lets take a recap from last weeks rescue on Ryloth.
Looking forward to seeing what is going to happen in tomorrow's show...especially just after the end of what is probably our first three part arc in the series! :)
Enjoy!
I will not abandon my squad, theyre good men, Ive to try and get through to them
Episode 8 drops in tomorrow morning - look at this as a reminder of "Battle Scars".
A great episode with some really cool Easter eggs and epics fights!
In this episode Wrecker's headaches are just about ready to explode and we are delighted to see a battled worn friend turning up to help the Bad Batch get their own battle scars.
We have officially caught up with the rest of the fandom on the Bad Batch roundup. This is more like it.
This episode was a little more action packed and had a tad more suspense than we've seen over the course of the previous episodes.
Who is that mystery figure - Could it be a Jedi, Maul, Rex, Bail....ah the list goes on and so too the suspense! :)
okay okay - I am a little late to the game on this one! I hope you don't mind playing catchup with me!
Some interesting stuff in this episode - plenty of call backs to the OT from Filoni which no one is going to complain about! We're checking out Ord Mantell and some of its mercenaries in today's show.
Hope you enjoy it - stick around for Jonah's random thoughts from the OT/Mandalorian/TCW and some bad batch stuff! :L
Why oh why can we not just do things in the right order? I'd love to know a bit more information on how they chose when to air these episodes. Chronological order certainly isn't a Star Wars speciality!
Thankfully we are still in for a sweet ride with this episode though as the submarine naval feels are superb...not to mention some super cool Stormtrooper artwork! If the personalised armour is the reason for the mix match order of things...then it was probably worth it.
Is this just another filler episodes or do we have some subtle character developments here? While talking this one through with you guys my mind began to wonder and changed near the end of the show.
It turns out to be a littl ebit more than a character intro and I for one am looking forward to seeing how Omega is developed in light of this episode where we see her outlook become a little more grounded.
We have another one off episode to look at on today's show and let's be honest, I'm not all that keen on these ones when they come around. Once you get used to have 2-4 part story arcs you kinda miss them when they don't come up for a while and anything short of a multi part arc feels a little like filler to me.
Maybe that's just me though and maybe it's just something I need to get over!
Hope you enjoy another run down nevertheless and stay with us as we continue through a rewatch of Season 2, The Clone Wars.
Man O man! What can I say, this is an epic episod! Obviously a lot going by the length of this episode.
Join me as we tear into this with a ton of Questions and a few thoughts for the future episodes...Ft. My Son, 'Mr J'!
We have all come to love the Mandalorian...but who are the people of Mandalore?
In this arc we are officially introduced the people that have captured our imaginations!
If this episode of the clones wars was lost, I don't think I would really be all that sad to be truthful. But nonetheless there are some interesting parts within the show, especially when it comes to the theme of having patience! So be patient with me as we get through this one together!
Timing was great this week. As much as I would like to have had our Clone Wars rewatch finished before Bad Batch started, we literally just took a look at one character that we are able to see a little more of in "Cut and Run", Mel Gibson's very own clone impersonator, Cut Lawquane!
The Galaxy looks to be prepping for an armageddon style government. Palpatine very cleverly begins compiling data on his citizens cloaked as a benefit system.
The crew alongside Cut and his family are needing to find a way off world in order to escape the inevitable.
The second Battle of Geonosis is coming to an end. The droid factory is destroyed by Padawans Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee, Poggle the Lesser is on the run closely followed by Master Luminara Unduli.
When she drops off the radar Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi rush to her rescue only to find the Geonocian Queen, Karina the Great planning a comeback through the means of mind controlling parasites.
Both Anakin and Ahsoka continue struggling to get the balance between attachments and compassion.
Buckle up for this one because you are in for such a ride as we go into the second battle of Geonosis! But first, there a re a few romantic snags along the way that we have to deal with, so awkward as it may be, needs must!
The battle sequences in this are truly a sight to behold - so take a deep breath and join me as we jump in all blasters blazing!
Welcome to the opening review of Bad Batch, Aftermath!
What a way to start a series! Man are you in for a great time if you haven't watched this already. I was a little concerned that Disney may have went a little bit left on this one - but so far its better than good.
I cannot wait to watch the episode with my son later on this week - but for now here are my initial thoughts! Hope you enjoy it!
Remember - Subscribe, Rate and Review please! :)
So today is the day! Once a year we all look forward to what news will drop on May the 4th! But this year is different - Bad Batch is dropping at *am here in the UK and I just watched my prepping episodes this weekend! Have you??
We're in for a bit of a marathon - if you don't listen to podcasts x2 this might be the one to try it on! Ever bitten off more than you can chew? Well in this episode we jump from Season one right into season two and Cad Bane comes along for the ride.
We are introduced to a character that is ruthless and subsequently recruited by Palpatine to kidnap children of all things!
We are nearing the end of Season one and the final episodes don't let us down. We are resisting the planet Ryloth, the home planet of the Twilek's. The separatist has enslaved much of the population and those that have escaped the massacres are in hiding and unable to overthrow What Tambor.
Once again the Jedi come to the rescue with a little bit of character development mixed in we can't complain about the penultimate Arc of the season.
Enjoy! :)
We all have our favourite Star Wars stories - you know - those ones we would love to be a part of? We this is a virus arc...none of us want to be a part of that again. Been there in 2020, go the e T-shirt and none of us need anymore. Sadly, this isn't my favourite Star Wars stary - but will I skip it? Not at all - when the going gets tough - keep digging and we might find some gems!
Just one episode featured this time - all will be revealed as we get stuck into one of the most insightful episodes regarding the clones! The possibilities unlocked in 'The Hidden Enemy' provides a doorway for shows like the Bad Batch and for a multitude of interesting clone stories to come!
Enjoy! :)
Are the Jedi peacekeepers or warriors and can they be both? That is the question that we ask ourselves over and over again in these three episodes. So sit back and have a good old think about the morality of the Jedi in this episode of the podcast!
In this episode we bump into one of the coolest side villains of the Star Wars galaxy - Hondo! If you have yet to watch the clone wars, some might say you are missing out for many reasons and he is one of them! I wonder will they ever introduce him to live action?
In this episode I get to talk about one of my favourite Jedi and possibly my favourite story from the first season - and no - its not Jar Jar on Rodia! But...lets not forget the lessons learned!
In this episode we take a look at the Droid arc from season one. While there isn't much of a story to follow, there are lessons to take home! Tag along as we check out Anakin's attachments and Ahsoka's abilities!
Continuing my read through LOTJ from chapter 3 and moving into chapter 4. The countdown continues and I'm excited to get into the rest of the book! Please follow along and if you haven't started reading it already, why not grab yourself a copy and read along with me!
In this episode we jump into light of the Jedi, the first instalment of Disney's take on the High Republic era.
I am not sure what to make of this time period and Disney's handling of it, but I'm going to find out as I work my way through it in C. Soules book. Little spoiler - so far its great! :)
Every soldier feels like a pawn on a map of war - which in reality they are. However, in saying that the opening episodes of Season 1 seems to be there to ensure we know these Clones to be more than mere pawns, but also real people with whom even the force flows. Please join us as we discuss Episode 1 - Ambush and Episode 5 - Rookies.
Maybe its the one you have yet to watch, or the animation turned you off, or maybe you just want to listen to someone else rambling about one of the lesser known Star Wars movies - Who could know why you are here!? But how can we not get a word in about this movie - it introduces us to one of my favourite Star Wars Characters ever - Ahsoka Tano! Not to mention the fact that it opens up the doorway for what became the best animated tv series of all time (IMHO)! :)
And so it begins! Welcome to another Star Wars Podcast where the fun begins and never ends! In this opening episode I am simply introducing you to what will hopefully become a go to podcast for all things Star Wars. Subscribe, rate and review the content and the quality - Lets all learn together as we build and become part of an already great community of fans! Now...brace yourself for content dropping in the next few days! MTFBWY :)
