Mama, I didn't want to take a break and not let you know why you haven't been hearing from me.

Basically, in a nutshell, I am feeling like I can't pour from an empty cup. With all the change life is throwing at me recently, including a fair amount of spiritual attacks, I feel it's time to have a rest.

For how long? I'm not too sure. All I know is that it won't be forever.

So until the next time you hear from me, be blessed in your journey of pointing your kids to Jesus.

Much love,

Deb

Mama, is it possible to form one habit and for it to transform your motherhood AND your walk with the Lord?

I think so. In fact, I know so.

In this episode I share how I have formed the habit of reading the word and how it has transformed the way I parent and my relationship with God.

Don't fret Mama. I don't leave you hanging with nothing else. I also share how I have formed the habit and what I would do if I did it all over again.

My heart is to inspire you to pick up your word and develop this habit of your own. And watch how your parenting and walk with the Lord changes in the process.

Mama, one of the most requested desire I hear from Mama's is that their kids develop a real and intimate relationship with God.

I wish I could give you a 3 step program to work through and boom, you will have a little Christ follower on your hands. Sadly, it doesn't work like that. Your kids need to make the decision for themselves.

But I can offer 3 tips that will help your kids to develop a personal, real relationship with God.

I pray that these tips encourage you to keep at it with this what can seem at times mammoth task. I swear it's not as difficult as it may seem.

Be blessed Mama!

Want to be a fly on the wall in my life? I can't promise you it's extremely thrilling. But it will hopefully fill in any questions you may have on what life has been like for me as of late.

We have moved countries so we are navigating how to obtain a new home, school, church and hopefully new friends.

Not everything has gone as smoothly as we might have wished. But through it all, God is evident and drawing us closer to Him. And you can't really get any better than that can you?!

So if you'd love to hear more about the girl behind this mic, listen on.

I pray it blesses you in some way.

Mama, just because our toddlers struggle with words and can't seem to do a heck of a lot for themselves at times, doesn't mean they can't pray and be exposed to the word of God.

In this episode, I share how I am teaching my 2 year old son how to pray and how I am reading the bible with him.

I share where I would start in the process and what I would do next.

Even if you don't have toddlers, I hope this episode blesses you to pray more with your kids or get in the word more.

Much love to you Mama.

It's my birthday Mama. Today I have hit the big 4-0! Am I wise in my 40 years of life? Nope. In fact, the older I get, the less I realise I actually know.

Despite that, I do want to share 5 lessons I have learned along the way. I share a lesson I have learned in my finances, faith, Parenting, Marriage and Health.

My hope and prayer is that you take one of these lessons and apply it to your own life.

And that you would join me in my Facebook community called Teaching Your Kids about Jesus to share your own lessons!

Much love Mama.

Mama, are you wanting to keep your kids engaged when reading the bible together? Are you wanting them to really get what you are reading instead of looking at you with a blank face when you ask them what they thought of the reading?

I have been there. My daughter struggles to stay focused. But we have turned a corner, and I want to share the 3 tips I have that helped her engage with scripture.

Getting in the word with our kids might sound like a mammoth task, but it's not really.

I pray this inspires you to open your bible with your kids to speak words of life to them.

Is fear something you are wrestling with right now? Is it a companion you could really do without?

With life being fairly chaotic right now, fear has been entering my life and weighing me down.

In this episode, I share how I have been struggling with fear, and how I have managed to combat it and replace it with peace.

It's as simple as opening your word, getting still with God and letting Him minister to you.

God doesn't want fear to rule you Mama.

I pray this episode encourages you, takes root and flourishes in your life.

Mama, are you in the season of overwhelm? With all the things being a Mama entails, sometimes it can feel like you’re in survival mode. I think we have all been there at one stage or another.

In this episode, I want to share 3 ways you can find pockets of time in your day to help point your kids to Jesus.

They are simple to implement and I promise that if you put at least one of them into practice, you will have at least an extra 10-15 mins in your day to point your kids to Jesus.

And I think that’s a whole lot better than you being overwhelmed having no time to teach your kids about Jesus.

I pray you are inspired and encouraged with this episode.

With teaching your kids about Jesus, sometimes you can wonder if you’re ever really getting anywhere. Or is that just me?

In this episode I want to share my number 1 secret to making your teaching effective! Where what you say resonates with your kids and you feel like you are getting somewhere.

This secret isn’t earth shattering by any means. But once you implement it, I know you will have the desired results. And I can say that confidently, because you aren’t doing this by yourself.

I don’t want to give too much away in the description.

I pray this episode inspires you to have a chat to God and involve Him more in the way you teach your kids about Jesus.

Much love Mama.

Confession time today Mama.

We all get it wrong sometime with this biblical parenting thing, and I had a revelation where I realised I was getting it wrong in a big way.

Basically, what was important to me in parenting (pointing my kids to Jesus) was not being reflected in my schedule and I discovered that I had a habit that was hindering me.

Listen in on the habit I had that hindered me in my biblical parenting, and how I am changing things up.

I pray this encourages you Mama,

When you hear the term 'fire for God', what do you think of? I think passion!

In this episode, I interview Alicia Tucker from the YouTube channel Alicia and Joshua where we chat habits and how they can help us grow our desire for God.

Alicia shares her top habit that helps her grow her relationship with God. She shares how to start the habit in the first place and she offers encouragement to the listener who desires change in creating good habits, but is unsure on where to start.

Mama, I know you will get something from this conversation.

I pray what you get, you implement and start seeing the fruit. Believe me, God can work with little seeds, and that's what these habits are.

Thanks for listening Mama. I appreciate you and am rooting for you!

Mama, do you have a plan in your parenting journey? Don't worry, neither do I. But I think after hearing this episode, you might just change your mind.

In this episode, I chatted with Amy Weichel from Faithful Parent. Amy shares how motherhood was overwhelming for her with 4 kids under 5. Her and her husband desired for their kids to know and love God, but their lives were so hectic, and they were unsure if they were parenting with this end goal in mind.

So, they changed things up. They were encouraged to create a plan for their parenting, and little by little they made changes and created a vision as a family.

Now, life is a lot calmer and intentional with a greater focus on showing their kids Jesus.

Mama, I know you will be inspired by this episode.

Matariki is a holiday we have here in New Zealand to celebrate the Maori New Year. It is an event that causes confusion within the Christian community. Some ignore the holiday, some view it as demonic and some can use it as an opportunity to point their kids to Jesus.

In this episode, I unpack what the holiday is, how we should navigate it with our kids as believers and how we are going to use the holiday to point our kids to Jesus.

It's an awesome episode and can be relevant for others who have national holidays that cause confusion and how they should navigate it with their kids.

In this episode, I had that privilege of chatting to Amy Davis from the podcast Generate Joy.

We unpack what habits are, why they matter, how we can make them and how they can bring us closer to God and help us disciple our kids.

Amy shares that the word habit used to be a trigger word for her. She thought it was restrictive and meant there would be no time for fun. But after implementing simple habits, she discovered the opposite.

Habits created freedom in her day to do more of what she loved. They helped her in her relationship with God, and helped her point her kids to Jesus.

If you've been on the fence about implementing habits, this episode will totally shift your mindset.

I pray this episode blesses you as much as it did me!

Mama, what would you do if I told you that I had a rhythm you could implement today and be a better mum and point your kids to Jesus more effectively if you implemented it? I would think you would say what is it??? Spill already!

It’s simpler than you might think. The BEST rhythm I have implemented that has transformed my ability to parent and disciple is getting up before my kids.

This isn’t as hard as you think. In this episode, I unpack how I have started this rhythm and why it has changed my parenting and discipling journey for the better.

I pray that this episode blesses you and that you take the challenge to get up before your kids (even 5 minutes helps).

I have the resource for you!

In this episode I unpack how my husband and I have a weekly marriage check in. We got this resource from Awesome Marriage and we love it.

It has transformed our marriage where we are now on the same page about finances, schedules, parenting etc. It has encouraged us to share more with each other and to involve God more in our marriage.

I pray this is something you can use yourself and watch as your marriage is impacted.

Are you the kind of Mama who is letting her frustrations come out in her words? Maybe your kids have a bit of an attitude and instead of speaking out what God thinks of them, you speak the first thing that comes to mind. (And it’s usually not what God would have us say)

No judgement here Mama, as I am in this boat. My words lately have been anything but mindful. And that’s why I had to get Kimberly Muhtar on the podcast where she shares how we need to be speaking what God thinks over our kids and not what we think. For example, instead of saying our kids are lazy, we could say they are growing in diligence.

Kimberly shares her journey of changing the words she spoke over her husband and her kids and the way it changed her life.

She shared that we are the product of the words spoken over us. It’s a scary thought.

But rest assured, after this episode you will be equipped on how you can alter your mindset and the words that you speak.

I pray this blesses you to bits!

Mama, is one of your desires in pointing your kids to Jesus, to help develop an authentic faith for them?

Mine sure is!

In this episode, I share 3 ways to model an authentic faith to your kids.

Research shows that our kids learn through things that are caught rather than taught. No pressure right?!

So, we need to be walking the talk. Don't worry though, it's not as intense as it sounds.

I pray that this episode encourages you and maybe convicts you ever so slightly.

Mama, does the concept of pointing your kids to Jesus sound great in theory, but it seems like too daunting a task.

In this interview, Julie Parido explains how simple discipleship is. We unpack the resource (Draw the Verse) she has created to help you and your kids memorize scripture through drawing.

Take it from me Mama - art is not my forte. But even I got into this resource and found that drawing scripture can be fun even with minimal skill.

Julie also touched on how she was too consistent with discipleship (yes that is a thing).

I learned heaps from our chat, and I know you will too.

Are you after a super easy, no-prep activity to share the real meaning of Easter with your kids that won't take all day?

A rock - the tomb

2 sticks – the cross

Something black - sin

Something red - blood

Something white – a clean heart

Something green – growing in Christ

This activity was so easy and my daughter really enjoyed it.

Hey Mama,

Today I share why I stopped podcasting and what to expect now that I am back!

After the birth of my son in March last year (2022), I initially planned on continuing with podcasting where I would navigate podcasting and all it entails with a newborn as best as I could.

But God had other plans.

He encouraged me to seek Him more on the direction of the podcast. Through that, I realized that things needed a change. So you will see new podcast art, me investing in my podcast more through courses and using a paid platform for the podcast.

My mission to inspire and equip you to raise Jesus loving kids hasn't changed. But there are a few changes been made.

Thank you so much for joining me again as we journey together to disciple our kids.

Hey everyone. Last week we learnt about Jesus and this week we're jumping back to the old Testament to look at the mistake that Adam and Eve made in the garden of Eden.

As usual, this episode includes a brief story, 3 questions, a catechism and a prayer.

I want to encourage you to pause the podcast at any time to chat about what you are hearing with your kids.

And I would love to hear what you are thinking of these weekly devotionals.

Are you frustrated with knowing you can hear from the Lord, but not knowing exactly how to go about it?

I've been there. And was there, until I discovered how to hear from the Lord through journalling.

In todays episode, I unpack what journalling is and how you actually do it. So by the end of the episode, you should be able to pick up a pen and paper and hear from God. Well, that's my hope anyway.

Last week we covered the beginning in our weekly word. The weekly word is designed to pop on when you're with your kids. It's short and to the point, but created to get you chatting about God.

In this episode, we jump to Jesus and unpack his beginning. I then ask 3 questions, we do another catechism and we pray.

Super simple, but I'm hoping super effective.

Let me know what you are thinking of our weekly word.

So if you find dinner time arriving and your stress levels rising, this is the episode for you.

I hope it blesses you in some way, and gives you a bit more time to be intentional with discipling your kiddos.

Is the bible real to you, or is it a book that sometimes sits there, unopened and gathering dust?

For some time, that's what it was to me (a dust gatherer I mean), and for our guest Shannon Leibold. But God changed the way she saw the word and she is out to inspire women to soak up what the bible has to offer.

In todays episode we chat about the bible (obviously) and how Shannon uses it in her everyday life. We discuss it's role in discipling our kids and alot more.

I hope you are blessed by the episode and inspired to get in your word.

Do you find you have time in the car with your kids and would love to make it that little bit more intentional?

I've decided to release not one, but two episodes per week now.

One episode will be like any other episode. The other one will be a short devotional you can put on for me to help you disciple your kids.

The devotional will have a short bible story where I'll alternate one week with a standard story and the other week with a story about Jesus. II'll then ask about 3 questions for you and your kids to pause and discuss, and then maybe there will be a catechism thrown in there. The devotion will wrap up with a short prayer.
