A series of youth talks on Seasons by the Rev Michael Spence (Minister in the Methodist Church in Ireland). Michael speaks truth and helps us understand how our relationship with God can help us, no matter what our circumstances.
SUMMER – Summer is a season when it is easy to rejoice (let’s face it – it involves Castlewellan)! In this final session, Michael helps prepare us for when the seasons in our lives may change. We will consider what God may be growing in us now to sustain us in the hard times ahead. We will learn how to live in the good times, so that when hard times come, we will still remember the goodness of God!
SPRING – Spring is when the world comes back to life. In this session, Michael shares how when Jesus met people, they were changed. Jesus wakes people up to who they really are. We learn how when we spend time with Jesus, he wakes us up too. This session is about remembering the things we enjoy and being reminded about who God made us to be! God invites you into life and joy.
WINTER – Winter is a season where everything feels “on pause”. It is a time when nature is in lockdown, waiting for life again in the spring. Our lives have seasons too. In this first session, Michael helps us reflect on lockdown and what that season in our lives felt like, perhaps a little like winter as we waited for life to return to normal. This session will help you be vulnerable with God whilst remembering that seasons don’t last for ever. They will end. Change will come.
