I sit down with San Antonio musician Bob Ram. A local multi instrumentalist who has a taste for the sounds of the culture. He takes a blend of cumbia and tejano inspired sounds and adds the flavor of lo fi, Psychedelic and even country rockabilly influence into a well crafted bowl of musical menudo. We talk music, culture and what it might take to cultivate a thriving eclectic society. Bob even graces us with a few songs to close out our conversation that you won't want to miss!
On this episode I sit down with young entrepreneur Amos Lozano. We talk about his latest venture in building San Antonio's first Hempcrete structure for The Famous Juice Company. We dive into what motivated him to jump into the Hemp industry and what he's doing to help pioneer a path for the booming industry through education and action.
On this episode I sit down with San Antonio radio Hall of famer Henry Pena. Henry has been in the entertainment business since the mid-1960s and has done an array of things from working the radio playing with his band Henry and the Kasuals as well as being an MC for dances across the city. He currently hosts the SA oldies radio show every Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on KEDA 99.9. Henry and I sat down and talked about his youth and his road to success as well as the changing of hispanic at tejano culture over the years.
In this episode I sit down with San Antonio's own Garrett T. Capps! Garrett is a country musician who has been known to push the boundaries of what the norm is in the genre and has cultivated his own brand of country incorporating the use of soundscapes in a few of his songs and releases and loves to infuse some of the San Antonio sound by way of Vox organs and accordions. We talk about his early influences and share thoughts on the current state of country music as well as gives us some insight on how the Lonesome Rose came to be what it is now. On this episode I was privileged enough to sit down with Vera and Brent Deckard of Kunstler Brewery. We sit down and talk about the brewery's inception, the influence that went into it, bumps in the road and what's keeping them going. It was a delight getting to better know these two passionate individuals and to hear and see how much they love serving the San Antonio community.
