DEPENDABILITY is a big deal to God & should be a big deal to us.
Deuteronomy 7:9 - You know that the Lord your God is the only true God. So love him and obey his commands, and he will faithfully keep his agreement with you and your descendants for a thousand generations.
“You can be committed to church and not committed to Christ. But you cannot be committed to Christ and not committed to the church.” Joel Osteen
Exodus 17: 8-12 - The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. 9 Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.” 10 So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. 11 As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.
12 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.
SPIRITUAL MATURITY is choosing what is RIGHT over what is EASY.
Hebrews 10:25 (NLT) - And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
You kids will MIMIC what you MODEL.
God takes note of those who are dependable & REWARDS those who are FAITHFUL.
APPLICATION – Determine to make church attendance a non-negotiable, rain or shine..
God has a brilliant STRATEGY to reach our city, and YOU’RE IT!
Matthew 9:9-12 (NLT) - 9 As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him. 10 Later, Matthew invited Jesus and his disciples to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners. 11 But when the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with such scum?12 When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.”

INVEST – Relationally connect with those in your circle of influence.

INVITE – Ask your friends & coworkers to a place where they can meet Jesus.
-
INCLUDE – Get them around your church friends & those you serve with.
People don’t want to just believe, they want to BELONG!
APPLICATION – Find someone you can invest in, someone you can invite, and someone you can include.
“You were made to serve something BIGGER than YOURSELF & you won’t be FULFILLED until you do!”
Key Verse - Ephesians 4:25 - Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
Serving is the antidote to SELF - ABSORPTION.
Mark 10:33-37 - 33 “We are going up to Jerusalem,” he said, “and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, 34 who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him. Three days later he will rise.”35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. “Teacher,” they said, “we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”36 “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.37 They replied, “Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory.”
Mark 10:42 - 45 - 42 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
God CREATED YOU to SERVE!
Serving provides you with PURPOSE & FULFILLMENT.
1 Peter 4:10 - 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
Serving NOURISHES the SOUL.
John 4:32-34 -32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”33 Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?”34 “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.
Serving is JOINING GOD in HIS PLAN to reach YOUR COMMUNITY.

APPLICATION – Find a NEED and FILL it!
Hebrews 12:1 (NLT) - “….Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”
Hebrews 11:6 - “…He rewards those who earnestly seek him.” James 4:1-2 - “What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight…”
Quit looking for the perfect church; it isn’t out there!
The only perfect person in the church is JESUS.
Mark 3:24 - If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
- God calls us to LOYALTY & LOVE.
John 13:35 - “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
- You are only responsible for YOUR RESPONSE.
Proverbs 21:21 - Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.
- Attack the PROBLEM not the PERSON.
APPLICATION: Examine your heart & ask God to show you if there’s an area where you’ve been disloyal with a person or program in the church. If so, make it right this week.
