This episode is about the freedom and clarity we find when we heal from our heart rather than from our hurt. It's forgiveness and compassion—expressed through the heart—that unbind us and free us to move forward unburdened. We are chained to, to some greater or lesser degree, whomever we harbor anger or resentment for. It's in accessing our compassion, our forgiveness, our heart that we free ourselves to move forward in peace.

In today's episode, I share two intuitive writings with you—both in the form of poetry—and both on the topic of the in-between or liminal space of transformation. These poems speak to the discomfort that comes with shedding old, outworn ways and layers and coming to find ourselves anew and renewed.

The transitory phase or liminal space can be incredibly uncomfortable. We're not quite that "new" version of us and yet we're no longer the "old" version either. During this phase of transition and rebirth, it can feel as if we've been left out in the cold. We find ourselves reaching for old ways of comforting and soothing yet more and more we're coming to realize that the old balms no longer soothe. Yet, that surrendered leap forward into the great unknown continues to terrify us.

And so at this phase of change, we find ourselves lingering at the precipice... like an onion, the top layer of who we are is falling away, revealing a deeper, more whole version of our depth. And yet there's a rawness to this process—an exposed vulnerability that leaves us feeling naked in our own discomfort.

This is the first episode in a two-part series on trauma. In this episode, we'll be exploring the ins and outs of trauma—a more inclusive definition of what trauma is, how it occurs, why it gets stored in the body, and the stages we must move through in order to release it.

We'll also discuss the very likely possibility, based on new understandings of trauma physiology, that most (if not all) of us have unresolved trauma stored in the body and how our most limiting patterns, behaviors, habits, and beliefs might actually be symptoms of unresolved trauma rather than personality quirks.

Annie L. Browning is a psychotherapist, spiritual leader, and the creator of GAZE™ —an expanded state protocol that opens pathways to deeper presence, expanded awareness, and symbolic insight. After the loss of her firstborn son, Annie sought new ways to meet loss and uncertainty that weren’t about control but about opening. Out of that journey, GAZE emerged as a synthesis of breath, eye movements, and symbolic inquiry that helps people reconnect with meaning and experience life as more spacious, alive, and full of possibility.

She is also a PhD candidate in psychology and consciousness studies, researching altered temporality, panoramic awareness, and future time perception—how our relationship to time and uncertainty shifts in expanded states and how those shifts can foster resilience, creativity, and trust. Annie now guides retreats, courses, and leadership programs that weave together rigorous scholarship, timeless wisdom traditions, and the depth of lived experience.

In this episode, we're exploring how to consciously communicate in conflict. The best of relationships aren't conflict-free. In fact, conflict in partnership is imperative to the overall health of a relationship. One of the keys to healthy, long-lasting, conscious partnership, it turns out, is not if we fight but rather how we fight. In other words, it's not the absence of conflict that makes a relationship healthy. Rather, it's the presence of consciousness and awareness during conflict that allows a relationship to thrive.

In this episode, we're going to explore the power of being fully present with the painful emotions we experience and how, exactly, to do this (as well as how not to do it). This topic might seem like an oddly placed one in the midst of a season of episodes that's intended to be geared towards conscious relationships. And yet, the truth is that emotional opposites are intimately entangled. Painful emotions and pleasurable emotions are, in essence, two sides of the same dualistic coin. And that's why this episode is included here in the midst of a season about conscious relationships, love, connection, etc. Because to love more consciously we must bring more consciousness to all of our feeling experiences—the painful ones included.

In this episode, we're going to explore the concept of emotional addiction. Season 4 is all about conscious relationships—with loved ones, partners, family members, friends, colleagues, and perhaps most importantly, with ourselves. The better we know ourselves and the more we understand how this human body computer system that we inhabit works, the more consciously we're able to show up in all aspects of our lives, relationships included.

Welcome to season 4 of The Soul Horizon podcast! We're kicking this season off with an episode that lays the foundation for many if not all of the episodes to come this season. We're exploring the concept of spiritual choice and free will. Specifically, the idea of choosing between what's known as the vertical path and the horizontal path. Simply put, walking the vertical path is a soul-led or heart-guided process, whereas walking the horizontal path is a personality or ego-led process.

In the words of Zukav (The Seat of the Soul p. 227):

When you depend entirely upon the ability of your personality to determine what is best for you, you may stand in the way of a richness that is waiting for you.

And this is exactly why committing to the vertical path is so profoundly empowering, enlivening, and expansive.

Loving the people the mind deems "loveable" is an easy task. Loving those who rub the mind the wrong way is difficult. And yet doing so is the truest testament to the meaning of love. To love someone who isn’t easily “lovable” by the mind’s standards is to access the depths of love from the space of the heart. In this episode, we'll explore the differences between these two types of love and examine the power of heart-based love and its potential to heal the planet.

Are you living to survive or are you living to thrive? The more attached we are to our identities, beliefs, roles, possessions, stories, etc., the more we're throttled into survival mode. Freeing ourselves to thrive, then, is a matter of lovingly letting go of and loosening our grip on the ego's most engrained attachments.

Note: One of the quotes I share in this episode contains a swear word (a gentle one, all things considered), but please beware in case you're sensitive or in case you're listening around little ears!
About a month ago, I was scrolling through Instagram and came across a quote that read,

"Unconditional love does not mean unconditional tolerance."

It got me to thinking...

Unconditional love is something that's spoken about a lot, especially in spiritual circles. But the loose and flowing nature of its definition has made it susceptible to misinterpretation.

It's imperative that we recognize and honor this distinction between unconditional love and unconditional tolerance—the former fosters unity consciousness whereas the latter can lead us to linger in toxic or even dangerous situations. In this episode, we explore unconditional love, unconditional tolerance, and the vast but often overlooked differences that separate these two distinct energies.

Whether we believe it or not, we're entirely capable of offering ourselves the love and fulfillment we want... or even crave from someone else. We're entirely capable of loving ourselves in all the ways we've hoped another person would love us. This realization is an extraordinarily powerful and empowering one.

Because...

When we know how to fill our own cup so fully and completely—when we know how to give ourselves the love we want—we stop needing someone else to do it for us.

It's from this place of deep and profound self-love that if and when love shows up externally, we're able to embrace it with open, unclenched and uncontrolling arms. Because when we love ourselves this fully we're able to appreciate the love of another in a way that perpetually frees that person to exist as they are. Our love for another then is no longer capable of being selfishly shaped into something that meets our needs at the cost of the other's freedom, because our needs have already been met by us.

It's also from this place that we're able to choose—freely and with intention—the partnerships that deeply and profoundly nourish our souls (as opposed to clinging to relationships out of fear because we're not sure who we'll be without them).

I believe that loving ourselves unconditionally—or simply having the genuine and committed intention to do so and acting upon it regularly (this is a journey)—serves as the foundation for unconditionally loving romantic partnerships.

Revelation 21 verse (referenced in episode): "Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.

In this episode, we explore the concept of re-parenting ourselves. And how all of us, no matter how wonderful or disastrous the parenting was that we received as children, benefit from learning to lead ourselves from the perspective of the unconditionally loving adult Self (Big S) within.

In this episode, we're exploring the traps of victim consciousness and how the reclamation of our power begins the moment we begin to opt out of victim-victimizer dynamics.

Because the truth is that when we outsource the problem, we outsource the solution too.

And if we are to become the hero of our own story, we must reclaim our power by taking full, unbridled ownership over our life. To own the trajectory of our life, we must first own ourselves. And to do that, we've got to stop pointing the finger at anyone. Not in a shame-inducing, admonishing way but rather in a compassionate, empowering, and self-loving way.

In this episode, I share a recent experience I had where I was able to heal a past version of self from the power of the ever-present now moment. What was so powerful about this moment was that the memory I have of this past moment included the recognition of the presence of a guardian angel or spirit guide. It wasn't until a week ago that this memory from over 20 years ago came full circle in a way that brought me to tears.

In this episode, we'll explore the idea of harnessing the power of quantum manifestation to manifest a life we feel completely and totally in love regardless of what's going on in our outer world. In other words, we're flipping the script on manifestation so that energetic (feeling-based / heart-led) manifestation is the primary goal with material (thought-based / head-led) manifestation being the secondary goal.

Ironically, flipping the manifestation script to focus on our inner reality first makes manifesting the outer reality we desire easeful, fun, and rather effortless. So material manifestation then becomes a secondary benefit rather than a secondary goal, because manifesting our outer desires is a natural and easeful consequence once we've embodied the inner feeling state that's a clear match for the outer.

In fact, manifesting through the heart in this way is how we end up manifesting materially beyond what the mind could have ever initially expected or hoped for. Manifesting the inner state of miracles is the effortless path to manifesting material miracles.

This week, we're revisiting an episode from season 1! I hope you enjoy this episode on Quantum Manifestation from season 1.

Manifestation is the idea that we're capable of creating our reality through our thoughts and feelings. You might know it as Law of Attraction or 'The Secret'. The Secret, though, mostly zeroed in on manifesting material gain—money, houses, shiny objects. It oversimplifies the concept and orients it around the physical, three-dimensional world. In this episode, we're dissolving the myth that everything that happens in life—good or bad—is a result of manifestation. There are two caveats to manifestation. Becoming aware of these caveats offers us a fresh perspective on manifestation and removes the common New Age shame and guilt that is typically associated with the New Age understanding of Law of Attraction.

We also dig below the surface to examine the interplay between quantum mechanics and manifestation, and how to create a signal so clear, so concise that it reaches into the quantum field and pulls our desires into physical reality before our eyes.

This is an impromptu mini episode that was inspired by an experience I had while on a run a couple weekends ago. The statement that kept circling through my mind intuitively after this experience was:

"We become the light when we’re no longer afraid of the dark. Ironically, the dark runs from that."And that about sums up what this episode is about.

The day after I recorded this episode, I read an excerpt in the book The Untethered Soul* (pp. 135–136) by Michael A. Singer that felt so aligned to the message and affirmed this idea of needing to run towards what we fear in order to set ourselves free. Here are bits and pieces from that snippet:

*“If anything can cause disturbance inside of you, it means it hit your model. It means it hit the false part of you that you built in order to control your own definition of reality… learn to be comfortable with psychological disturbance. Of course this will be painful. The reason you built the whole mental structure was to avoid pain. If you let it fall apart, you’re going to feel the pain that you were avoiding when you built it. You must be willing to face this pain…

...The way out is through awareness. Stop defining the disturbed mind as a negative experience; just see if you can relax behind it. When your mind is disturbed, don’t ask, ‘What do I do about this?’ Instead ask, ‘Who am I that notices this?’… If you want permanent peace, permanent joy, and permanent happiness, you have to get through to the other side of the inner turmoil...

...You do that by letting go of the tendency to cling. You do it by not using your mind to build false solidity. You just decide, once and for all, to take the journey by constantly letting go. At this point, the journey becomes very quick. You will go through the part of you that has always been scared to death, and you'll see how that part has always struggled to hold it all together. If you don't feed that part, if you just keep letting go and don't cling, eventually you will fall behind the false solidity.”

This week, we're revisiting an episode from the first season of The Soul Horizon.

This episode offers a foundation for the information we'll be covering in next week's episode. Next week's episode will be a deep dive into the subconscious mind and how we can leverage the power (and brilliance) of the subconscious to invoke powerful, long-lasting, and life-transforming change.

Here's what this current "revisit" episode is about...

By the time we're 35 years old, 95% of who we believe we are is merely a memorized pattern of beliefs, behaviors, and emotions. This is why real, lasting change is so difficult. The thing is though, we're entirely capable of awe-inspiring changes and shifts at any age. But we've got to know what we're working with first. We need to know what stands in our way. In other words, we must know the enemy before we can determine the best course of action in becoming our own hero.

The truth is...

Most of us hit the age of 35 and from that point forward, simply become an increasingly concentrated version of whoever we were then.

But it's not by choice. It's by repetition.

And knowing the cause is the key to reversing it.

The main question we'll be answering in this episode is: Is the brain the producer of consciousness or the receiver of it? To answer this question, we'll explore the two primary theories on consciousness—the reductionist or materialist model and the holographic, spiritualist, or non-local model. We'll then dive deep into the spiritualist model of consciousness and explore a specific, prevailing theory within the broader spiritualist take on consciousness. Namely the holographic model of consciousness. And how this model of consciousness easily solves the so-called 'unsolvable' mysteries of our time.

*Note: Although hallucinogenic substances are referenced in this episode, I haven't used them myself and am not in any way suggesting you do so. However, I do recommend trying (only if it's safe for you to do so) holotropic breath work if you're interested in inducing an altered state of consciousness.

There are many, many forms of psi phenomena but the main forms of psi, referred to as the 'Big Five," are:

  1. Telepathy
  2. Clairvoyance
  3. Precognition
  4. Telekinesis
  5. Healing

The first three pertain to the transference of information and fall within the subcategory of ESP. The last two pertain to the transference of energy and fall within the subcategory of PK or psychokinesis. In today's conversation, we explore phenomena in the ESP category. In the episode, we examine laboratory evidence, consider how discoveries in the field of quantum physics might be able to explain the existence of psi phenomena, and discuss ways to open to or enhance your own ESP abilities.

In this episode, we're exploring the Zero-Point Field (ZPF). There are many theories on what, exactly, the Zero-Point Field does. Most simply put though, the Zero-Point Field can be thought of as a universal information field from which everything is created and thereby connected as well. The ZPF is the non-local tapestry of infinite and limitless information that appears to be the foundation for reality itself. This field is everywhere and yet nowhere at once, because it exists outside the bounds of space and time. The nonlocal and limitless information stored within the Zero-Point Field appears to generate the entirety of this holographic Universe we exist within.

This episode is written with the intention of exploring the middle ground between orthodox religion and orthodox science. For those who believe that this experience we call 'life' is both deeply meaningful and meant to be explored through the veracity of freedom, sovereignty, and authentic expression. For those searching for the middle ground where science and spirituality (as well as the belief in God) cannot only coexist but can actually coalesce to support one another in an explanation of reality that upholds our existence as being deeply meaningful and profound. An explanation that suggests that our lives, our creativity, and even our seemingly mundane experiences are unique, individuated expressions of the Divine—of God Source Consciousness—itself.

In this episode, we'll embark on a sort of time-displacing odyssey in which we consider the idea—based on scientific discoveries and paradigm-shattering theories—that linear time is nothing more than an intricate and clever illusion. A trick of the mind per se. What does it mean for this to be true and how might we evolve our own perspective so that we can free ourselves to live beyond the illusion of time? We'll explore all this and more.

My intention with this episode is to open your mind to the multidimensional nature of reality. To breakthrough the outmoded barriers of naïve realism. The ones that suggest that our five human senses provide us with direct awareness of objects as they really are. It’s naïve realism that’s left us bought into the illusion that reality is limited to only that which we can perceive through the limitations of the human nervous system.

Broadly speaking though, my hope is to inspire you to shift your perception beyond the status quo belief that we live in a purely physical reality. Over a hundred years ago, science turned this idea on its head and dismantled it, yet we still haven’t caught up. And I’d say it’s about time we get ourselves caught up…

Because until we do, we’ll mistake illusion for reality.

Perhaps even more importantly though…

When our view of reality is fragmented (seeing reality as made up of separate physical objects), our view of self and others is fragmented as well. We see ourselves as being separate from all else as opposed to one whole part of an even greater whole. And it’s separation consciousness that’s the root of all suffering.

I believe that peering beyond the illusion of physicality—and the illusion of separation that it invokes—is the first step towards unity consciousness on this planet.

In this episode, we'll explore the current energetic landscape on earth and how there is an intensification of trickery, fear, and darkness that's being used in an attempt to keep us stuck (or even trapped) and to thwart the collective rise in consciousness.

The more we can recognize that the fearful urges and impulses we experience are not ours but rather that they're inorganic, artificial layers of illusion placed over our consciousness, the more we can empower ourselves to discern what is authentically an emanation of us (our Core Soul Essence) and what is merely a clever illusion designed to keep us stuck, trapped, and looping in fearful ways of existing.

In this episode, we explore:

  • My recent experience with the abandonment wound.
  • How choosing our happiness instead of waiting for it is an act of radical self-love that nourishes us from the inside out and soothes the abandonment wound.
  • How anything we desire to manifest outside of ourselves should be seen as adding to our already stable sense of inner fulfillment rather than creating it. Although we'll still desire the external dream, we don't need it to be happy, because we’ve created our happiness from within first. From this perspective, the manifested dream then becomes the cherry on top as opposed to the sundae itself.

Questions to inspire reflection:

  1. What does choosing happiness look like for me right now?
  2. To-Do's and Not-To-Do's
    1. What are the actions, thoughts, and behaviors that fill my inner cup?
    2. What are the actions, thoughts, and behaviors that deplete or take from my inner cup?

In this episode, we explore three monsters of mind: The Fear Monster, The Shame / Unworthiness Monster, and The Resentment / Blame Monster. We also uncover the key to taming them.

Our monsters are merely echos of unresolved and unhealed inner shadows. How do we dissolve the power of a shadow? By illuminating it, of course. By shining the light of our awareness onto it. Even when dissolved by the light, the shadow exists in perpetuity as a potential. And yet, in becoming aware of and accepting of our shadow, the potency of its appearance softens to that unmanifested potential. In other words, what makes our shadow manifest in tangible ways is our denial of it. Denying it intensifies the shadow's darkness. Its edges sharpen until we're forced to look at it. And its through seeing and acknowledging the Truth of our shadow that it softens. Because conscious awareness is the regenerative source of illumination—of light.

If you’ve listened to The Soul Horizon for any length of time, you’ve probably heard me talk about the pitfalls of over-thinking as well as the perils of believing everything the ego says without question. You’ve likely also heard me speak talk about thinking as being a predominantly ego-based activity. In this 'mini' episode I’d like to clarify and clear the air, because the truth is that thinking is an imperative part of being human. And there's a certain type of thinking that's actually highly spiritual in nature.

In this episode, we explore four life lessons that are repeated time and time again. In knowing that these lessons present themselves in perpetuity, we can begin to soften to their guidance in a gentle, non-resistant, and surrendered kind of way. And the more we embrace this sort of openness, the more fluidly and nimbly we can move through these lessons, and the more we're able to welcome their wisdom.

The 4 life lessons we cover in this episode:1. Life gives us what we need to learn, not necessarily what we want to experience.

  1. When it seems as if life as we've known it is "falling apart," we're being divinely cracked open so that we can open to ourSelves (big S) more fully.

  2. The way of the heart is the Soul's chosen and destined path, yet it often conflicts with the ego's chosen path of safety, certainty, and comfort.

  3. In every situation or circumstance, the seed of Wisdom and the most profound meaning is found in the middle.

In this episode, we're exploring the idea of 'safe self' or 'acceptable self' vs. authentic self, and how we’ll only ever be as authentic as our willingness to be rejected. In other words, our ability to show up authentically in life expands in direct proportion to our willingness to be “rejected” for who we are.

Note: I became emotional and struggled to speak at one point while recording this episode. In the past, I've often deleted or shortened moments like this, because I didn't want to take up your time. However, this time around I felt it was important to leave it as is and unedited. Please skip this episode if you're not in a place to receive this or if you feel that it might trigger too much for you at this time. ❤️

Other notes and disclaimers:

  1. This is part one of a two-episode series, so be sure to listen to both episodes to understand the full picture. The second part will be released next Thursday!
  2. In this episode, we'll be discussing trauma as a collective and generational phenomena. We won't be discussing acute traumatic events (PTSD) and chronic childhood trauma (developmental trauma disorder—DTD). Not because they aren’t important—in fact, just the opposite. They’re incredibly important… too important to cover in a brief podcast episode.
  3. We also won't be exploring specific traumas or traumatic events, rather we'll be considering a pattern of collective trauma that seems to be the resulting pattern of a very broken whole.

The true function of feelings is to elicit healing.

They arise within us to inform us. Their sole purpose is to grab our attention so that we can respond with an appropriate healing response

This typically isn't how we respond to feelings though. We typically respond to feelings—especially “negative” ones—not by feeling them but by thinking about them...

In other words, instead of feeling our feelings and opening to their wisdom, we react to our feelings by thinking about them (resisting), therefore creating thinkings about our feelings... and more feelings about our thinkings.

In this episode, we'll explore why we do do this and what we can do to stop thinking and start feeling our feelings.

This episode is going to be a check-in and chat in which I'll share various anecdotes, musings, and teachings that I've been contemplating recently.

That probably sounds very vague! To be more specific I've just jotted down a handful of ideas, questions, and insights throughout the last week. For example, what I'm currently reading, what I'm currently feeling + intuiting energy wise, my perspective on a spiritual question I was recently asked, and the psychological and spiritual practices I'm actively focused on in myself right now.

Each chakra can be thought of as an energy center or doorway that allows energy to flow between the human form and the Soul or Higher Dimensional Consciousness that animates the body.

Each chakra then is an energetic vortex point that connects the physical body to its Higher Dimensional Consciousness or Soul.

In this episode, we'll discuss the energetic container for the chakra system—the Etheric Body. As well as the Nadis, including the Sushumna, Ida, and Pingala Nadis. We'll also take a closer look at each of the nine chakras in the nine-chakra system (while recognizing the fact that our understanding of the major chakra system is currently expanding to include 12 to 15 chakras).

In this mini episode, we're exploring the concept of truth. I'll first give my personal (personality based) take on the topic of truth as I currently understand it, and then I'll share insights that came through during an intuitive Q + A session with my Higher Self. While we could spend many episodes exploring the topic of truth, this bite-size episode will intentionally leave several stones unturned. Keep this in mind as you listen and also as you reflect on whatever thoughts, feelings, and wisdom rise up within you afterwards.

Documented accounts of Near Death Experiences date back thousands of years to ancient Greece and Rome. All the major religious traditions include stories of NDEs as do narratives collected from indigenous populations from around the world. The medical literature from the 19th and early 20th centuries also includes NDE cases. (Source— After by Bruce Greyson, M.D.) Although it might seem like an unusual phenomenon, NDEs aren't all that uncommon. In fact, they're described by 10% of people whose hearts stop. And surveys taken in the US, Australia, and Germany suggest that 4 to 15% of the general population have had NDEs.In this episode, we're digging into the evidence on NDEs, looking at two unique and profound experiences, and discussing what the experience of (almost) dying teaches us about life.

There are 7 Veils of Illusions that get layered over our consciousness here on Earth in the physical plane of existence. Each one creates a unique filter of illusion. And it's in lifting the veils, one by one, that we begin to see reality for what it truly is. Once all seven veils have been lifted, we become enlightened. The true and most basic meaning of enlightenment is seeing clearly without distortion.

As humans, we have a funny tendency to spend endless energy believing that tomorrow will be different instead of leveraging that energy to make today different.

Tomorrow-ing, quite simply, is the verb form of tomorrow. It’s what we do when we don’t do things today because we believe we’ll miraculously be more capable or willing to do them tomorrow.

We think tomorrow is the answer when in reality it’s the problem. Too often, ‘tomorrow’ becomes a catch-all for everything our instincts told us to do today.

In this episode, we unravel the 'why' behind tomorrow-ing and pull the rug out from under its supposed utility. We also discuss several practical ways to combat tomorrow-ing and start today-ing.

"Procrastination is the most common manifestation of Resistance because it is the easiest to rationalize. We don’t tell ourselves, ‘I’m never going to write my symphony.’ Instead we say, ‘I am going to write my symphony, I’m just going to start tomorrow.’"

In order to actualize our purpose to the fullest extent possible, we must first find the courage to claim our power. But so many of us fear our own power. We keep our power at a distance in hopes of conforming or fitting in with outside expectations, as a means of self-protection (blending in is the safest bet in a judgmental world), in order to maintain a sense of control, to attain outside approval, and so on.

Some of us fear our power because we've come to associate "power" with its ego-driven, hierarchical, and opportunistic counterpart of force. In this episode, we explore the differences between power and force and examine ways we can reclaim our power in a steady, heart-centered way so that we can more fully actualize our purpose.

When I dare to be powerful, to use. my strength in service of my vision, it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.

When we become accustomed to something—person, place, thing, or experience—the mind has a tendency to forget the magic that it felt when it was new and novel. As we move along in life and our schedules solidify, we settle down, and we tuck in to routines, a haze of monotony can move in on our lives. When this happens, life loses that glisten, that glimmer. Some of us realize and lean into our edges to re-illuminate life with magic. But more often than not, we accept the monotony and give into dullness. Or perhaps we reach for quick hits of excitement or self-sabotage to shake things up and make ourselves feeling something... anything.

In this episode, we'll uncover why the mind is prone to seeing monotony over magic and what we can do to reignite that invigorating life SPARK.

Is stillness a reward for hard work or is it the necessary precursor to creativity?  For so long the equation has looked like this—Hard Work + Desired Outcome = Stillness Earned. But perhaps we’ve gotten it wrong—backwards, actually. Should the equation really be: Aware Stillness + Intentional Action = Desired Outcome. In this episode, we'll unravel this game-changing shift in perspective and talk about how creating inner stillness may just be the most valuable and necessary aspect of the entire creative process.

Triggers have gotten a bad rap in recent times. We're terrified of being triggered and we're scared of triggering others. We tiptoe across eggshells in our interactions. In return, we expect others to do the same. To mind themselves to avoid ruffling our feathers or crushing those fragile eggshells that surround our deepest wounds. Today we're going to flip this perception—the one that vilifies triggers—on its head. We'll explore why welcoming emotional triggers is a necessary step in the process of deep healing. And how the things and people that trigger us serve as messengers and as tour guides, leading us to the areas that need to be healed.

Have you ever felt like you're moving through life in a haze of repetition? Life becomes a blur of chores, to-do's, monotonous habits...

Eat, complete daily duties, sleep, repeat.

You're caught in the moment and yet you're numb to its presence. Always needing to react to the next demand or to-do. It's as if someone's clicked the 'zoom in' button on your life a few too many times and now all you can see is what's directly in front of your face.

Life's become a haze of three-dimensional distractions. And while there's comfort in routine, your soul craves something more.

You've got dreams, aspirations, and a vision of the you you plan to be in the future. But you're so caught up in reacting to life that it feels like you're not really living it.

This is life on autopilot. Give this episode a listen if you'd like to know more about what it means to be stuck on autopilot and why we're all on autopilot... until we're not.
