For the video-recorded season finale, we have invited Jack Howchin, Nick Storm and Zapoida Francis to talk to them about their upcoming audiovisual event at the Lighthouse on the 23rd of May.
They share what the inspiration behind the project was, and what`s it like to collaborate with each other on the project. They also share their latest favourite music discoveries.Â
In this episode, our hosts Marina and Ford have talked to the singer-songwriter Charlotte Riess, and Ella and Jonathan from SONDERPARK about how they started out with music, what their dream collaborators and influences are, and what they have planned for the future.Â
For this weekâs episode of the FreQShow we talked to two up-and-coming artists: Johnny Lopez and Livio a.k.a. Flame.
Johnny Lopez - the indie pop musician from Barcelona put out his third single âMake Me a Drinkâ on April 22nd. He talks about his artistic journey from classical training towards the upbeat indie-pop that he is currently presenting.
Livio - the rap artist proudly representing Cape Town just released his second single âRememberâ which is about overcoming personal hardships.
As Johnny and Livio are both 2nd year music business students they discuss how streaming platforms and social media change the industry and the way we consume music. Moreover, they talk about what live music means to them, how they plan to enter the live market, and why they say itâs not the right time for them just now.
If you are struggling with writerâs block, they give helpful insight on their personal experiences and share hacks on how to revive creative flow.

The FreQShow exists to showcase BIMM talent, it will offer students not only the opportunity to get to know their fellow artists but it will serve as a platform for students to share their music via the radios open calls. Students are invited to suggest not only their music but also relevant topic suggestions theyâd like to hear discussed on the show.
