Interview podcast chatting to guests about success and challenges to hopefully help those listening.
For our last ever chat, no more fitting way to end it than to check in with the man I say many times really set the tone for this pod with his open ness, courage and attitude. The one and only Clint ‘Dinga’ Viney. Dinga has recently achieved a massive goal of being 1000 days sober, we reflect on this and how life is today but the main aim of this final chat was to put some questions to him about mental health, his battles and strategies he uses in order to try to put together a kind of mental health toolbox for any others out there struggling so they can hopefully use in their own lives. Anyone who knows Dinga knows he is an open book on this stuff and admits he still has days where he is ‘beaten’ and talks us through how this feels, how he gets through it and how to support someone else living this struggle. We touch on how he maintains good mental health in his daily routines and steps he takes to make sure he has more good days than bad. This chat touches on some subjects which may be triggering so please be mindful if, when and where to listen.

This week former guest, fellow podcaster and mental health advocate Nathan Hunt. Nathan talks about what he saw in his own workplace which made him take action to become a mental health first aid trainer himself, his own personal experiences with mental health affecting people around him and the steps he took to bring awareness of it into his workplace and also the work forces reaction to it. On this weeks show it was great to catch up with former guest Trent Keep. They normally say sequels are less interesting than originals but in Trent’s case he’s probably been through more since I last spoke to him than what we spoke about in our first chat. While playing cricket Trent suffered in incident which left him concussed and after having issues with concussion previously this would have life changing consequences. Trent speaks about the incident, he speaks openly about the days and emotions following and what effect it all had on him physically and emotionally. With head injuries being such a hot topic in the sporting world it was great to get a first hand account of what it is like living with symptoms caused and Trent articulates really well his thoughts on what could happen moving forward to protect sufferers. Trent also opens up on the responses he received to his first chat with us and how he now uses his story to help others which is where his passion is.
This week it was a real pleasure to sit down and chat with Moriarty farmer Caitlin Radford. We chat about the role farming and agriculture plays in society, her challenges in being a woman and breaking down barriers in a traditional male dominated industry, her personal journey including illness, body image and dark times as a kid and how her love for horses and the farm helped her get through through this. We also get some fantastic relationship tips from Caitlin as she and her partner Owen at times are a long way apart while also being business partners so it’s a great insight into how to maintain your relationship but also function as business partners at the same time and no farming chat would be complete without a good chat about the weather and how this impacts production and sometimes it can be catastrophic. This is a great chat for anyone wanting to get some inspiration and motivation to take a leap into an area where they may not think they fit or will be successful, you’ll hear how Caitlin did it and how you can do it too.

A big part of Fletchers journey centres around an on field injury he sustained playing for Devonport which resulted in an operation which may have saved his life. His resilience, attitude and how he bounced back will inspire listeners.
At 19 years of age while home from training for his dream career Tom was spending his last day with his mates and made a decision which would leave him a quadriplegic.
