This is a show that I (JG) will not forget. It was one of my favorite shows because I didn't really know what we were going to get. I have met Jeff a couple times as FlatsMafia has helped with Lunkercon before, but we never really got to hang out. He goes over some of the famous phrases and acronyms that he uses. I always thought some of them were funny but I had no idea of the real meaning behind some of them. Once I heard them, I was literally laughing in the corner of the studio. Great show all together and we also go over some of the filming that we did for our TV show during the "Homosassa Hawsey" episode. We hope you enjoy this one and look for our new podcast coming out real soon!

Well.... Sorry we have been MIA for a couple weeks but we are back. This week we have special guest from Waylen Bay Marine Live in studio (Capt. Justin Lofaro). Capt. This week on FlatsMafia Radio Glenn came very close to winning the Florida Pro Redfish Tournament but the fish was slightly too big. We also had Capt. Esteban Gutierrez LIVE in studio to talk about his Tournament coming up this weekend on the 27th. Heroesinshoreslam.comis the website and 100% of the proceeds go to helping Military families and 1st responder families. It was great having him in studio we also cover his fish camp in Costa Rica. Im not sure that Capt. Blackbeard was ready for what we do in the FlatsMafia Studio's. We will be fishing this tournament and hope to see you guys there.

This week on FlatsMafia Radio, we go over the roasting James took at the boat ramp and some tricks for Cobia. The Cobia are literally all over the flats right now. Look in all of the manatee spots and you will find them. Typical rig for these fish are 40-60lb leader and a 3-5 circle hook, we recomend using a large pinfish with a cork. Have the bait ready to fly while your searching for cobia. Other tips are: enough space to store the fish after you catch it, have enough ice to keep the fish cold, and make sure you have a gaff on board. Tarpon are also starting to show up, have the same rig for tarpon as well. Best bait to use for poons are crabs and thread fins. Happy hunting and keep it classy.

Well it is finally here "Snook Season". Fish are already in their springtime patterns, so target them as such. Though this last week was a very windy start to the season, there are still times to taget these fish. James and Bubba like to target them at night , while Capt. Glenn likes to get his beauty sleep. We discuss some tactics on night fishing and fishing the dock light.

This last week we had another great show with "Reel BBQ" stopping in and bringing us some food. (It was chainless). We also go over how the redfish in Tampa are chewing everywhere. James and Glenn fished 2 different areas and wore the reds out. Fish are eating cut bait, caught with the best fisherman on the boat"Rod-Knee" or AKA (The Rod Holder). Cut up some pins or threadfins or greenies chum the water... bait up, stick it in Rod-Knee and sit back and wait for the rod to bend. It can at times be very boring but once it goes off its worth it. There are also some snook and trout around if thats your target. Snook are near structure, look for the rocks near bridges and trout are still in the grass flats in Georgetown and Rocky Point. "Gasparilla Hangover" This weeks show is the day after Gasparilla, Yes we're feeling it a little bit. The weather has been super windy all last week, so Bub had to cancel trips. Glenn still managed to go out a couple times and be productive with snook and trout. James aslo got out just before the front arrived and is still finding snook on the flat. This week we cover Glenn's heartbreak on tournament day for the Tampa Bay Redfish Tour and we go over some good Trout tips to help your fishing game!
